The dentist of the SECOND AVIS, diagnosed 1 filling "to watch" and the other as being well intact, even after specific questioning on these two teeth. There was no decay or failure. I wonder about the over-repair, and for how long I have had my mouth plumbed unnecessarily or too early. Altering an original tooth is not trivial because fillings only last 5-10 years. She's very nice, but I don't like the situation I'm in as a patient. The future will clarify and validate the situation. When you leave a clinic with a treatment plan and have the insurance and the means to pay, there is no reason not to follow a professional's recommendations. The clinic pushes a lot to have treatments done and it is with doubts about the "danger" of not having them done that we quit. Trust, but verify. On a more positive note, the team and the clinic are superb and courteous. (Original) J’ai été un patient durant longtemps et dépensé entre 1000-2000$/an en soins de réparation divers. Après quelques temps et m’être mis au courant de la littérature sur certains sujets dont les remplissages de trous dans les dents causés par l’usure et le remplissage en amalgame de déchaussement, je me suis rendu compte que les recommandations que j’avais sur les soins prescrits n’étaient pas nécessaires. Après trop longtemps je me suis décidé à aller demander UN SECOND AVIS avec un examen dentaire complet (multiples radiographies et examen buccale) .La dr. Boudreault me recommandait de faire réparer 2 plombages défectueux avec carries et faillure. Le dentiste du SECOND AVIS, a diagnostiqué 1 plombage « à surveiller » et l’autre comme étant bien intact, même après un questionnement spécifique sur ces deux dents. Il n’y avait aucune carie ni faillure. Je me questionne sur la sur-réparation, et depuis combien de temps je me fais plomber la bouche sans réelle nécessité ou de manière trop précoce. Altérer une dent originale n’est pas banale car des plombages ne durent 5-10 ans. Elle est très gentille, mais je n’aime pas la situation dans laquelle je suis comme patient. Le futur viendra préciser et valider la situation. Quand on quitte une clinique avec un plan de traitement et qu’on a les assurances et les moyens de payer, il n’y a pas de raison de ne pas suivre les recommandations d’une professionnelle. La clinique pousse beaucoup pour faire faire des traitements et c’est avec un doute sur le « danger » de ne pas les faire faire qu’on quitte. Trust, but verify. Sur une note plus positive, l’équipe et la clinique sont superbes et courtois.
