Just had a root-canal done by Dr. Scott Matheson and I can't say enough about the positive experience. The two options were to pull the tooth or do the canal. He never swayed me either way, he educated me on the pros and cons of both options and during the procedure he made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. He took extra precautions because he knew I was nervous and I honestly did not feel any pain. Thank you so much Dr. Matheson!

I am thankful for these guys. I needed an emergency root canal around Christmas time. We called at 8am when they opened and got on the waiting list, then got a call back when someone cancelled and got in the same day. Being open until 8pm is sure helpful. I cannot express enough how wonderful the experience was that I had in this clinic. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable. The receptionist greeted us and was so kind! She was so gentle and talked to me the whole time! Dr. Aull was super AMAZING!! He is so friendly, knowledgable,He also reassured me and acknowledged my feelings. I had a wisdom tooth removed. I will say the staff definitely made me feel comfortable. Dr. Aull was the one that did the extraction. I was sent home with antibiotics and a rinse but no pain medication as Dr. Aull said all pain meds interacted with my other medications. This is not the case at all. He referred me to my family physician to get pain medication. That’s a bit difficult seeing as it’s hard to get in with my doctor. Luckily, my physician was working urgent care in Sylvan and I was able to get some pain medication. My Doctor was quite taken back that I was sent home after a wisdom tooth extraction with no pain medication. I also ended up with dry socket (no ones fault) so I went 4 days without any pain management. When I contacted their emergency number, no one returned my phone call. So I went to a different clinic and was taken care of immediately. Sad to say I will not be returning to Southpoint.

These scammers would not let my wife leave without paying money when I have 100% dental coverage. Again she had to ask for the money on the second visit. Then on the second visit they made her pay over $100 for our child’s visit, only to call our benefits provider to be told it was all covered, these people are out to get your money, so beware. I have been going to this place for over 10 years, but will be taking my business elsewhere since this kind of thing is going on now. Down hill since the last batch of dentists have left.

Recently moved to Red Deer area and needed an emergency wisdom tooth extraction. I call Other dental offices in the area and all they did was laugh at me when I asked for same day removal. Southpointe Dental not only listened to my needs but also went out of their way to get me in quickly. They also tried to save me a bunch of money by tracking down my last set of X-Rays from Edmonton. I couldn't recommend them more and will be using them for all of my dental needs from now on.

Always a get experience. From the time you walk in the door the ladies at the front desk are happy and very helpful. The rooms are warm and very clean. I always enjoy the staff who work on my teeth! I have never waited more than a few minutes in the waiting room which is very nice. They respect your time. They also give me a heads up if they think something may not be covered by my health insurance. Keep up the great work!!

Never been here before, but made an Emergency Appt the day before & when I arrive on time to my appt, I'm told I need to pay upfront because it takes to long to get payment from my Insurance Provider. This Business was more worried about getting their payment asap then the pain & discomfort the patient was having.......this info could have been relayed back to me during my call to them, not when I drive all the way there.....a complete waste of my time & lack of consideration for my urgency.

Went to see Scott Matheson in December 2016 to get a filling done. My bite was uneven so I went back again and he screwed it up even more. I then went to see Tristen Aull who was completely useless. My throat has been strained and swollen the past six months because of Scotts incompetence. Maybe next time you should hire someone with experience and not someone who just graduated?! Of course, when I posted the bad review on their facebook page they deleted the review and blocked me from their page. I will never recommend this place to anyone. How you treated me was an absolute disgrace and I will make sure people know about it. Can you say dental malpractice?

One can feel a positive atmosphere very quickly upon arriving as the staff are friendly, caring, and attentive, and very efficient as wait time is quite minimal. The dentists assistants are cheerful, and quite adept at their work, comfort is a priority, they know their stuff, professional yet easy to talk to. My Dentist Dr. Scott Matheson is excellent, never rushed for time or answering questions ,very knowledgeable, extremely skilled, and reassuring. I will always recommend Southpointe Dental to anyone I know. The staff there are always kind, understanding, and very easy to talk to. I’m someone that gets pretty nervous just thinking about going to the dentist, but these guys always make me feel welcome and comfortable whenever I’m there. I had a worn out filling pop out which exposed a bit of the nerve and they fit me in the next morning. I was out of there within 45-50 minutes. Dr. Aull did great fast work! I could never thank them enough for their help in my small emergency.

The hygienist was excellent. The dentist insisted on a panoramic and frontal x-ray, which is unnecessary, and very harmful and expensive. There is no such thing as safe radiation. My insurance knows they are unnecessary and refused full payment. Overcharging and doing harm, the young dentists I've been to lately are the greediest people with no morals I've ever seen. They are worse than lawyers.

I was unhappy with my dental clinic as I rarely saw the same dentist or hygienist on my next visit, and dental procedures and options often weren’t fully explained. The clincher was getting a tooth infection after getting a cavity filled; I ended up with a root canal, so I knew it was time for a switch and I decided to try Southpointe Dental. My first visit was with Dr. Scott Matheson, who was very open; a pleasant change from my old clinic where the dentists weren’t very talkative. Dr Scott explains every procedure thoroughly so I know what to expect and his answers to my questions are easy to comprehend. He is extremely skilled and is a perfectionist (to me at least). I highly recommend Dr Scott and the staff at Southpointe clinic.

The place itself is good, however trying to access the building is a total pain for someone in a wheelchair! The ramps are right in front of the handicap parking making difficult to get to. The door is not auto button. If your in a wheelchair bring a friend I guess....
