Staff is always friendly and very welcoming. Clean building Awesome dentist and hygienist. My kids switched from going to a children’s dentist to roots and they love it. I assumed they would hate it n be scared or miss all the kids stuff they have in waiting room. But no especially since front staff will accommodate them by putting kids shows on tv. Building is very clean. I may not like that it’s on whyte ave but once inside I forget where I am. Would recommend to everyone.

I highly recommend this dental office! Front end staff are very friendly, especially Niki. She was very helpful and polite. I had a great experience with Dr William Yoo and his assistant, Marie. Dr Yoo was very informative and kind. I had teeth that needed immediate attention and Dr Yoo was able to fix them! All I need now are just routine check up and cleanings now. I would highly recommend this clinic!!! Amazing staff and clinic is very warm and welcoming.

After some pretty terrible experiences with dentists, and nearly at the point of writing off the whole profession as a bunch of money hungry sociopaths, I was looking for a group of professionals who would work *with* me as part of my holistic health care team. I found that and more in my first visit. Everyone at Roots on Whyte Dental was polite and exceptionally well informed about actual dental health. My hygienist and dentist both took plenty of time to answer any question I had - and I had many questions! I was astounded that my dentist actually cared enough to perform a thorough inspection of all my teeth, gums and even my jaw and lymph nodes (including pictures so I could see). I've never had that much care and attention with any dentist ever! I was expecting to have to travel to Calgary or even out of province for quality dental care. Quite relieved to find this gem in my own back yard. I recommend them whole heartedly to anyone - especially those who take an active role in their own health.

The critical factor for choosing Roots, however, was the fact that it's clean dentistry - no mercury or fluoride. Oh and they bill direct. A few years ago, I heard about how great Roots on Whyte Dental was, so I decided to give them a try. After only one visit here, I left my previous dental office (that I had been going to since I was a kid). The service from the office staff, the hygienists and dentists have been top-notch. The equipment and practices that they use are great and also up-to-date. I would hands-down recommend this place to anyone looking for dental care.

I just had my teeth cleaned by a wonderful dental hygienist, and I cannot remember her name, but she is the assistant of Dr Ruby....really, very caring, efficient and friendly service...my teeth feel amazing after the polishing and the deep clean. All the staff that I have met in the Roots Dental clinic are so helpful and friendly and take time to explain their procedures. I feel very relaxed knowing that I am in the care of such a great clinic, and especially that they are practicing good environmental and green ethics.

Best one on one experience with a dentist I have had, he sat down talked me through everything showed me pictures of my teeth and walked me through the x rays, he wasn't even in a rush at all made sure I understood the current health of my teeth, far cry from the usual 5 min chat with the dentist and out the door. Just went there today for dental cleaning and not impressed with their customer service. I asked before booking if they do direct billing and they said yes but when I got there and gave them my plan number was told that it’s not active which was not true,they said they will call while I have the cleaning done,end up paying out of my own pocket and was given a form to submit myself. I called the insurance company and they said nobody contacted them and that everything is fine with the plan. The cleaning was the worst I had,compared to other places. She said I had a lot of built up but used only water flossing and for 30 min,their polish was 3 min water shooting small sand like particles which felt like pin points on the tongue and nothing really on the teath...35 min cleaning for 255$? If you’re going to change this much better spend full hour and use latest methods and if you say you do direct billing,call the company number for real,don’t lie! Also when I called back to address the issue Ashley the receptionist hanged up on me...maybe it’s time to find a another job where handling customers service is not part of your job! Never going back there again Never going back there

Horrible experience. I booked an appointment here 3 weeks ago for my partner and I. Today was supposed to be our first appointment. On the phone I let them know that I was 36 weeks pregnant at that time. The receptionist stated that was fine. Today when I arrived I was told that they don’t provide cleanings for pregnant women in their first or third trimester due to an increased risk of infection. I am a RN (in obstetrics), my mother in law is a dental hygienist and we tried to find evidence to support this and we were unable to, if anything there’s plenty of research on the benefits of cleanings in pregnancy. Next, she stated that she called me twice yesterday to let me know my appointment was cancelled. I pulled out my phone and double checked my calls with my partner in front of her, there were no missed calls or voice messages from their office. Also, why wasn’t I called 3 weeks ago after I booked the appointment so I would have had an opportunity to reschedule an appointment elsewhere? And why wasn’t I called at all today before my appointment? And why aren’t all of your receptionists informed on your policies around obstetrical patients? Then I would have simply been able to find another place 3 weeks ago when they would have been able to inform me of that when I booked the appointment. This was all initially fine. I decided to stay in the waiting room and did not say anything while my partner planned to have his exam and cleaning. He was scheduled for 1000 today. We waited until 1030, the receptionist offered that we could leave and come back around 1050 and apologized for running behind. We did and returned at 1040, waited until 1100 and at this point I was thirsty and starving... I am 39 weeks pregnant now and didn’t feel like waiting for a few hours in their waiting room. I feel after these circumstances us waiting for an hour past our appointment was more than fair. At this point we were quite frustrated. Future recommendations: Educate your receptionists that you don’t provide cleanings to 1st/3rd trimester patients with decent rational why so they can explain it to patients. Call back to inform clients of any appointment modifications/ cancellations as close to the date that the appointment is booked. Not 3 weeks later. And attempt to call the client the morning of the appointment to let them know it is cancelled. We were not provided with any explanation for why you were an hour behind this morning or offered any sort of apology or anything for our wasted time. That would be great to offer future patients.

Just finished my last appointment for 3 ceramic implants. The only dentist in Alberta to do implants without metal posts. Dr. Woo is a magician. He works quickly, and the price was the price, about 1/3 more than regular steel post implants but healed super fast and I won't react to them down the road. Precision work, and a staff that is nice beyond words. I never thought I'd be able to get implants with my anxiety and bank account, but these guys made it work. This dental office is definitely from the future! I wish I found them sooner, fair prices, amazing services, amazing staff. World class and affordable.

Instead of being pressured into unnecessary fluoride treatments everything was done to stop further risk from my Mercury fillings. They specialize in removing Mercury fillings safely. I had all of mine removed except for one and I do feel better. I have a terrible gag reflex and they were very considerate in accommodating me when working on my teeth. Dr Yoo is an amazing professional that has been my dentist for 3 years. I have seen dentists all around Canada and Dr Yoo really stands out- he is very careful to not over treat any issue I have and really has an amazing demeanor. He is honest and straightforward which I really appreciate. I have had an extraction and fillings with him and now an implant and all along the way he has been great and his work is unmatched. If you are lucky you will have this lovely professional as your dentist. Also there is another Dr Yoo in the city- not to be mistaken with this Dr Yoo, so beware when reading reviews elsewhere on the internet that you have the right Dr Yoo from Roots on Whyte :)

It’s the day after my bone graphs and implant base placement. So far so good. No pain just some swelling. I’m excited as Dr William Yoo was the only dentist who was confident enough to take my ‘less than optimal case’ so I’m very grateful he took on my more complicated surgery. I drove from Calgary to Edmonton to experience his expertise and was not disappointed. Ashlee at the front desk is amazing and the dental assistant I had, Jessica, was lovely and very caring.Of course I’ll write a comprehensive review once my implant is finished and my crowns are placed in a few months and I can see the final result. ????

I had always been dreadful of any dental clinic until I came here. Dr Shaz is a genius. He took care of all my dental problems in a way that made me feel comfortable and so much better. I have always appreciated this dental office, from the first time I started seeing Dr. Clarke in his previous location back in 2010. My environmental physician referred me to their clinic because of the biological nature of their practice. I love knowing that when I get dental work done, the highest amount of care and thought has gone into my health-distilled water and baking soda polish to reduce my exposure to water impurities and chemicals; digital xrays to reduce my radiation exposure; air filtration & damning while mercury fillings are being removed to reduce/eliminate my exposure to mercury, and the list goes on. I appreciate the care they take in dealing with patients, and the honest and straightforward approach.
