I am extremely happy with my experience with Rocky Mountain Dental, and in particular Dr. Anand Choubal. I have spent a lot of time there, as my teeth happen to be my Achilles heel, and I feel very lucky to have found a dentist in whom I have complete trust (no pressure Dr. Choubal)! I have told him, if he ever moves, I am going to follow him! How many people can say they love their dentist?! I am fortunate to be able to say, I can! I feel that I am well taken care of by him. From my own personal experience, I have found him to be a very caring, knowledgeable and respectful dentist, who puts the well being of his patients first and foremost. He is also a perfectionist who prides himself in "doing good work". I also respect the fact he is constantly training himself in any new techniques arising within his profession. I feel very comfortable in sharing any concerns with him, i.e. I expressed concern with regard to a dental hygienist, who for the most part was excellent, thought I felt, was a little aggressive in her approach to cleaning my teeth. Upon my next visit, a marked change had occurred in the hygienist's approach to my teeth and I believe that my comments were passed onto to her with positive results. The only negative I would share, is with the office and its changeover of staff. This can be a little disconcerting in any medical office, however, I believe this has everything to do with the reality of living in a very expensive tourist town, where affordable and available housing is a serious issue. Having been blessed with bad oral genetics, I have come into contact with many Dentists and I can say without a doubt that he is the best dentist I've ever had. Just had a check up and cleaning with these guys for the first time. the front receptionist Betty was super helpful, and patient. The lady who took my X-rays was also a blast too talk too! Last but definitely not least was Chuck my hygienist, Great guy and made me feel welcome the whole way through and was super delicate on cleaning my teeth. Great Place!

Dr. Choubal and team were excellent! They worked me in for an emergency appointment and were friendly, inviting and explained the diagnosis thoroughly. Radiographs were provided so my home dentist could review as well. If I lived in Banff I would be happy to have them service all of my dental care.

Hi, my name is Greg (writing from my wife's gmail account) and I am a patient of Dr. Choubal's. It has been a pleasure going to my appointments as the staff are very welcoming and social. Dr. Choubal has showed sincerity towards my dental concerns and is an extremely nice guy. One quality that is hard to find these days that he displays, is his optimism. I owe in part a huge thanks to Dr. Choubal as he helped save two of my front teeth after I had a bad hockey accident and took a puck to the teeth. This happened back in December of 2016 and to date my teeth are healthy and strong.

Dr Chobal is the best dentist I've ever had. He's patient and he listens and he's very good at explaining things. He has never gotten frustrated with me from my bombardment of questions. Quite the opposite actually. He has always taken the time to talk with me about what's going and what needs to get done and the possibilities. He is also very well versed in TMJ and is very gentle! If you live in Canmore or Banff, I highly reccomend him!

Excellent service from a great team. Dr. Choubal's interest and enthusiasm for continuing education gave me a lot of confidence during my initial visit to his office three years ago to pull an impacted wisdom tooth. His breadth of experience and knowledge has also lead to my diagnosis of severe sleep apnea, which has had a huge impact on my quality of life. He even did the screening for free, with a take-home kit he keeps at the office; for those who don't know, sleep apnea is a very expensive condition to treat, as treatment is almost entirely through the private health system.

Ive always recommended Rocky Mountain Dental because of how amazing Dr Choubal is. My family has been going here for a few years now, in the beginning it really was amazing, everyone was so professional, friendly and knows what they're doing. But the past year has been a complete opposite, the staff and service has definitely changed. Receptionist managed to screw up most of my appointments and the communication was just terrible. I was scheduled for a filling, but was shoved into cleaning instead without explaining why. I recently got a mouth guard from them too, and for my after care the dental assistant just said to clean it with dish soap and didn't recommend anything else( this possibly resulted in problems for me later). Then for my next cleaning I show up to a completely different Hygienist who happens to only do manual scaling without being informed about it, it was a terrible experience, and when I spoke to the receptionist that booked it, she just said oh yeah, your hygienist doesn't work here anymore, right thanks for the heads up. My recent visit was no different, my new hygienist (3rd one) just informed me that whoever has been cleaning my teeth has not been doing a good job and that bacteria from my mouthguard may be one of the causes of a mild gum disease. This hygienist was actually good, she recommended a proper way to clean my mouth guard and to not just use a dish soap. I had also booked a recall exam and xray along with this recent cleaning, It felt like I was being rushed through my appointment as Dr. Choubal had to leave early, it made me feel like I was begging to be seen, turns out the receptionist forgot to book me in, so really Dr. Choubal was just seing me out of courtesy. I still think Dr. Choubal is great, but its definitely not the best dental office in town anymore.

To start, the receptionists were extremely accommodating going so far as to reschedule the day before and being warm and friendly each and every interaction. Secondly, they were very transparent in cost (as my insurance didn’t kick in for another couple weeks). They went through everything and let me make all the decisions. Finally the actually procedure was mind blowingly awesome. Zero pain - I didn’t even know they had used the needle yet to freeze my gums. I was actually so relaxed and think I could have fallen asleep. I’ve been all over Canada and this was by far my best dental experience 10/10 !

(Translated) Things I am staying in Canada at Working Holidays. The back cover of the back tooth has been removed. On the next day when I called the reservation, I organized a medical examination schedule and the visit time was usually from 8 o'clock in the morning, even though it was 9 o'clock in the morning. Both receptionists and dental hygienists corresponded politely and kindly. To me who can not understand English at all, the dental hygienist explained by using the translation site. I myself do not have insurance in Canada. Because I was told that I can not pay for high medical expenses, I will continue the examination while explaining what to do beforehand during the examination. The teacher is also very kind. The treatment is solid in hygiene, and it carries out careful treatment using microscope. I received a cure to add the cement and re-adhering that the ceramic teeth had been slightly missing. There was no discomfort at all of the teeth before treatment. First medical examination, 1 x-ray, it was about 230 dollars due to re-fixation of the original ceramic teeth. I think that it was remarkable response / treatment than the dentist in Japan. I wish I had this dentist in Japan. It is personally very satisfied with correspondence / treatment worth paying so much. I do not correspond to Japanese, but if there is someone who needs urgent examination of a tooth with Banff as soon as possible, I will recommend this dentist in Banff. (Original) ワーホリでカナダ滞在中のこと。 奥歯のセラミックの被せ物が取れてしまいました。予約の電話を入れた次の日には診察予定を組んでくれた上に、開診時間が通常は朝9時からにも関わらず朝8時から診てくれました。 受付・歯科衛生士共に丁寧かつ優しい対応してくれました。 英語が全て理解出来ない私に、歯科衛生士の方が翻訳サイトを使って説明してくれました。 私自身カナダの保険加入がありません。高い治療費は払えないことを伝えていたので、診察中は前もって何をするか説明しながら診察を進めてくれます。 先生もとても優しいです。治療は衛生面がしっかりしていますし、マイクロスコープを使った丁寧な治療をしてくれます。 セラミックの歯が少し欠けてしまっていたのを、セメントを加えて接着し直す治療を受けました。治療前の歯の違和感が全く無くなりました。 初診料、レントゲン1枚、元々あったセラミック歯の再固定で約230ドルでした。 日本での歯医者よりも、格段上の対応・治療だったと思います。日本にこの歯医者があったら良いなあと思います。 これだけ払う価値のある対応・治療で、個人的にとても満足しています。 日本語対応ではありませんが、バンフで歯の診察がどうしても早急に必要な方がいましたら、バンフではこちらの歯医者をオススメします。

Went in for an emergency appointment in early May to get a tooth extracted that had cracked all the way through. They contacted me right away and got me in ASAP without any trouble. Painless procedure, and only experienced pain the day of once the freezing wore off later on. Dr Choubal kept me very informed during the procedure. I went to bed that night and woke up the next day feeling as if nothing happened, and had no pain or discomfort. Overall, Dr Choubal and his team are very friendly and knowledgeable, and Stacie the receptionist is very kind and easy to talk to and will usually have the answers to some questions you might have. They also provided some post-operation follow up appointments that were free of charge, including getting the stitches removed. Highly recommend this place for all your dental needs!

Terrible! The receptionists are absolutely lovely but I had the rudest dentist! He didn't fix the problem I went in with and I still had to pay a fee. All he wanted to do was extra work for thousands of dollars and because I said no he didn't like it.. be very careful also as they try and trick you into examinations etc which cost hundreds! Very Clearly money orientated ! My advice go somewhere else!

Dr Choubal and the Team are our Angels, looking after our daughter after she had a serious skiing accident in March 2019 while on a working holiday. We as parents, were very confident with leaving our daughter - who was determined to stay in Banff and in Dr Choubal good hands. Dr Choubal was and continues to be very kind, gentle, thoughtful and caring towards her injuries and she has full faith in him. Since I have left Canada to come back home, our daughter attends her regular dental visits and together she works with Dr Choubal's recommendations to seek 2nd and 3rd opinions regarding her dental plan treatment. She has a long road ahead but with each day there is a smile on her face as her confidence returns. We are always kept up to date as to her progress and Carmen and the team are quick to send me an email to let me know what is happening. The only dentist I’m actually happy to go see. Now, if you’re anything like me that’s saying a lot. For my entire life going to the dentists office, whether for a clean up or a tooth extraction, was an unpleasant ordeal. It’s just not a comfortable situation. Being prodded and probed, forcing your jaw wide open for tens of minutes at a time, bad news about your oral health that most dentists seem excited to charge you for. Sometimes it can even be straight up painful. I almost feel like Dr. Choubal saw all of these negative experiences that seem commonplace in many other dentistry offices and decided to do everything in his power to obsolesce them. It all starts with amazing receptionists that are incredibly well informed and accommodating to time and financial constraints. They really helped my wife and I get all of our dental work done in a very short period of time before we left on vacation, and helped us stack our benefits together to get the best deal possible and avoid paying almost anything. Then there are the dentists who are equally friendly and thorough in their cleaning and assessments. All normal procedures are easy-going and completely pain free, with a big emphasis on patient comfort. Finally, there is Dr. Choubal himself. If ever you have anything serious that needs to be done inside your mouth, this is the guy you want in front of you. He is very calm, always smiling, and genuinely listens to the patient’s needs and concerns. If you have any doubts or questions he is always willing to explain things through and to help give a better understanding of the procedure. He doesn’t try to push anyone or sell anything. It’s a great feeling. Furthermore, Dr. Choubal seems to constantly be learning to better serve his clients. He offers Platelet Rich Fibrin injections to help speed recovery and reduce pain. He tries to prevent, rather than treat, to avoid unnecessary future procedures. He even has a trans-cranial electrotherapy stimulation device that generates alpha brainwaves to calm and relax patients who might be anxious or nervous. His mission statement is: "It is our mission to truly connect with our patients, provide a clear understanding of dentistry as it relates to them and deliver dental care in the kindest and most technically correct manner." I believe this to be an understatement. The best dentist in the country (I'm almost certain of it). I wish my doctor was like him!!

I recently fell over and broke my tooth in half, Dr. Choubal and his assistent helped me through this in a very gentle and professional way. I managed to find the tooth after the fall and I stored it in milk until I got to the clinic. According to Dr. Choubal, keeping it hydrated as I did was essential for him being able to put my actual tooth back. I went there with the hope of getting a temporary fix while instead Dr. Choubal restored my tooth permanently in a quick and yet very professional manner. I would highly recommend him to others.

Exceptional approach to patients, professional and kind service. I’ve visited RMD 7 times (March-July 21’) and all visits been very comfortable because of amazing Dr. Anand and as well Dr. Oksana. Also assistants and ladies on reception are doing great job. No matter how financially frustrating can be dealing with this issues in Canada, you definitely get what you pay for.
