if i can give NO stars i would. I had to get a tooth extracted and my so call dentist which I wont name but HER last name starts with a Z, never once mentioned I can get a cap in my root canal befere I ended up losing it. All she had in her head and only mentioned was a bridge. She's extremely one track mind. Her way or the hwy type. its how SHE wants it treated and not listen to what you have to say or think. Hey, insurance or not, if im going to dish out $10000 plus to fix 2 teeth, well you better give me ALL my options and NOT just think of your pocket how much you're going to make. Ive learned and find out what to do from the hygienist Heidi who does an absolutely fantastic job cleaning your teeth than the Z dentist. Not going back as its all about a money grab dentist centre. Even this other hygienist Lea that prepared me for my tooth extraction said to me Quote: You should comeiback get your teeth cleans as they haven't been cleaned for a few years!!! Ive been getting my teeth cleans 3x a year at that same office for 3 yrs!!!! Are you kidding me? So im done going to that money grabbed centre!

Great service. Open outside of regular hours so I don't need to take time off work. Direct billing to medical so I don't have to fill out paperwork. Etc. Etc. Could go on. I recommend these guys to everyone.

I started going to Parkland around 1997.. My dentist Dr. Zachow was good.. but as time went on the hygienists I had were awful. They were rough and never seemed to care about how their patients felt. The last straw was when I was in so much pain after a cleaning.. I left in tears. My dad also left from bad experiences. I’ve been going to a new office for a year now and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made... I wish I did it sooner.

Got a bill in the mail saying I owe more money for the fillings I recieved after I was told a flat rate of 29 dollars for each tooth to be filled after insurance. Starting to think you're scamming customers. Don't predetermine the estimate. Get the full estimate and bill your customers properly cheapskate. Don't think I'll he becoming back after this. Ridiculous.

MK, my dental hygienist was an absolute blast. She was very gentle and so friendly! She even got me squeezed in to see my dentist as I was only booked for a cleaning. She had dr. I’ve been going to Parkland Mall Dental since about 2000. And been with Dr Zachow since she arrived, with different dentists here and there over the last 8 years due to moves to/from Saskatchewan. I live in Airdrie now and still make the trip to Red Deer to see Dr Zachow. She is an AMAZING dentist, the BEST dentist I’ve ever had. She is VERY caring, and thoughtful and explains the details of the procedures so you know exactly what’s going on with your teeth. She will always be my dentist of choice, as will Parkland Mall Dental.

One of my sons who is usually away working had intense pain near the back of his mouth. When he was off work for a couple days....we assumed none of the dental offices would be able to fit him in right away. I got lucky by calling Parkland Mall Dental Centre first because they fit him in within an hour! His problem was complicated as they had to cut out his bottom wisdom teeth that were abnormally growing forward. He was able to go back a couple days later and the procedure was done smoothly. I was impressed at how efficient and fast it was handled.

Highly recommend this office!!! Dr. Doerksen is an amazing dentist. She has done some of my fillings aswell as she removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth. She is as gentle (as possible when pulling out teeth), very patient and comforting if you are worried about having a procedure done. Her post operative care is very good. She phoned me the day after the procedure to see how i was doing! The front staff is also very good. They will direct bill your insurance. They did a pre-authorization so I was able to plan out my finances for having the procedure done. This office has a great team, and I plan on having all of my future dental procedures done here! :) :)

My first few experiences with this dental clinic was okay. A lady in the front desk has a little bit of an attitude which to me is very un-inviting and unprofessional. Way too expensive and not very upfront about their actual quotes. They'll tell you one thing another day then say a higher price the next.

Let's chat about the 1 star. Been going since 2000, since I moved here Never really noticed how bad it was until i went elsewhere -the hygenists gossiped while hovering above me about other employees, this happened often when I went -always rough on the teeth. I never left without bleeding gums or just in excruciating pain. -my fillings i had done a few years ago are starting to break off now. -and to top it off, a dentist who no longer works there told me I have The mouth of a 45 year old, I was 14, I cried . I booked another appointment here a month ago, and the appointment isn't even for another week I HAVE HOLES IN MY FU**ING TEETH. 67th street dental in red deer Alberta had me in 3 days from booking, if interested I did leave a review for them also who were so amazing to me today. I won't be going back, the only up side to this place is that they have a food court.

I give this dental clinic 5 STARS!! I moved to this clinic after my former dentist retired. I had been with my former dentist for many years and as such, was nervous about this change. However, I didn't need to be. The staff were awesome from the start! They understood my apprehension and diligently answered all my questions. The clinic itself is clean and, with COVID, they were even more conscientious with their hygiene protocols. Dr. Shariff was kind, compassionate and patient. He understood my concerns and carefully explained the required treatment for my dental issues. As an added bonus, this dental clinic follows the dental fee guidelines set out by the Albert Dental Association. Something my previous dentist didn't. If you want quality care and friendly staff at an acceptable cost, Parkland Mall Dental Clinic is the place to go!

Apparently she is not always there, so you may need to request her. A dentist appointment is not always fun stuff, but we go here for the excellent care ????

I had a bad experience at this place , they did a filling and since day 1 was bugging me and all the told me was to wait 6 weeks and the pain and discomfort was gonna go away but never did , went again and they talked about getting a root canal but I got a second opinion and sure enough I went to appleway and they removed the filling was done and put new one yesterday at 10 am and by super i was able to eat with no problem, drinking water or having a coffee without pain , I'll never go back to this parkland clinic

The previous review was done by my fianée Lisa Krenn. If you would like to read it see below. It was somehow made known that she was doing it on my behalf, however she did not know all the issues I had or have been having since. So let's start at the beginning. I wanted to get my dental done before moving out of the country and they had time that was suitable for my busy schedule whilst getting reading. As was mentioned by lisa we had a long wait in both the waiting room and in the chair. While I was in the chair we noticed how unclean and unprofessional this place was, but little did we know just how unprofessional this place was. If you look in Lisa Krenn's posted pictures there liquid marks and trails going down the walls and what looks to be spot residue on the lamp, as well as what looks like used items laying out, what look like grease or oil marks made over time by human skin on the dishwasher/sanitization machines and what seems to be garbage on the floor in the last picture. They claim that it's residue and streaks left from cleaning agents. I do not claim to know their cleaning procedures, but in my experience working for a cleaning company that is fairly improbable and it was no better when I went alone for my fillings. Now when they went to freeze my face I visibly flinched because of a nerve being hit wrong. I have read other reviews and it seems that has happened more than once. Part of my face is still frozen after about two months from this incident. During my fiilling, even after the freezing was a pretty painful process. Making my teeth and jaw hurt for 3 to 4 weeks after it. Now my lower jaw sits to the right instead of sitting comfortable and perfectly in the middle as it always had. I constantly find myself drooling at times that ,previous to this occasion, I had never drooled in before and get random bursts of pain from various areas. I called in within two weeks of it happening to complain and I got the whole run around of "everybody heals at a different pace", "this is normal" and was given a time to come see them well after I was supposed to move. I told them I couldn't as I didnt have time, but I would trust their professional experience. After over a month and a half when the freezing hadn't worn off yet Lisa posted her review. Although her time estimation was a tad off it was still valid as it wasn't by much and I didnt think much of it. That was until I was contacted by the establishment. We emailed back and forth as they wanted to resolve the situation. I really appreciated their consideration at the time. Until I had to call them from Europe on my own expense (did you know it's almost, if not impossible to call collect from a cell phone from Europe? I know I tried several different means). After telling them what it costs me I was put on hold while the lady at the front desk got someone else. When she got on the phone she gave me the same bs of everyone healing at the same rate and when I didn't say I would take down the review(as I was frustrated that their resolution was to say that nothing was their fault when I was calling from Europe on my own dime at around 1:30 to 2 am my time.) She started to sound aggressively angry so I put my foot down then and there and told her it would be taken down after I get a second opinion IF they confirmed what was said. Since then they have relentlessly sent emails and did not get the hint and I have been considering writing this. The final straw and deciding factor was when I saw their response to Lisa's review. The freezing HAS NOT started to recede and I hate that my issue was downplayed and was sent several emails practically begging to take down the review. There are consequences to actions and I hope they get theirs. If you are reading this there has to this point been no resolution. TL;DR 1. Long wait 2. Filthy 3. Seemingly incorrect freezing 4. Painful filling experience 5. Pain for several weeks 6. Still frozen after a large amount of time. 7. My whole mouth sits differently than before. 8. I drool now. 9. Extremely Unprofessional

For years I tried various options to whiten my teeth and nothing worked (not even dentist-applied treatments). So I kind of gave up. Then I noticed myself smiling with my mouth closed, or putting my hand over my mouth when I laughed. Did I really need to spend many thousands of dollars on veneers? Finally I went to see Dr. Karim Shariff at Parkland Mall Dental. I told him I might consider veneers. After an exam he suggested a much cheaper alternative: teeth whitening products had improved considerably over the years, and he thought I would have good success. He was right! I had great results! They provided a kit with tight-fitting custom molds, to keep the whitening solution off my gums and prevent irritation. I am so impressed Dr. Karim recommended the cheapest solution instead of the much more expensive veneers. Not only do I recommend him as an excellent dentist with a reassuring manner, but I can vouch for his integrity too!

Dr. Shariff is fantastic!!!!! I can't say enough good things about him and the hygienists that work with him. I was with my previous dentist since I was a child back in Ontario. When I moved to Red Deer in 2010, I was recommended by a co-worker to go to Dr. Shariff. Initially I thought I wouldn't find a dentist as good as the one I grew up with...but not the case. Dr. Shariff is soooooo good at what he does. No pain, thorough, caring, informative. Also, my husband has always been terrified of dentists because of a traumatic childhood experience with one. He was surprised with how awesome and gentle Dr. Shariff was. I bring my kids in too. My 8 year old loves him and I just brought my 6 year old in last week to have 3 fillings. This was my first time watching someone else get a filling. Usually I would be in the chair. But wow!! It was amazing to watch Dr. Shariff and the hygienist work. Soooo smooth....like...they are so skilled at what they do. I just appreciate them a great deal. And my kiddo didn't need any laughing gas because Dr. Shariff is super chill and reassuring. Oh ya!! my dad recently had a bunch of work done too, like a root canal and something else I think. He was very very impressed with Dr. Shariff. Honestly....best guy.....he's fire. Just get it over with and book an appointment!!

If I could give no stars I would. They blamed us for getting lost in their system. They came back almost a year after work was done with a bill and said it was because we had given verbal consent to do a root canal without a pre-authorization. Who does that?? Of course that didn't happen, verbal consent was never given to dismiss a pre-auth!! The manager just kept chirping that over and over so I told her...since we still owe a sum of money we weren't aware of, that they would get it in very small increments. Maybe next time they will communicate properly with their patients :(

I would love to give a good review... but I simply can't sorry it has been horrible! I have had issues for over two months with shooting pain over 2 fillings with very little almost no pain beforehand - simple filling nothing more! Gave them a chance to correct and correct the bite but I'm not going back, they suggested a root canal if the pain didn't stop. Parkland is an assembly line mentality with dental care, When they froze before the filling they poked my gums like a pin cushion. I went to my old dentist Dr. Buckley in Sherwood park a bit of a drive but well worth it and I have an infection and irritated muscle around it and even after a short while and antibiotics it is becoming better and better. Thank God!

My wife went to try and get a tooth pulled. Started off all good appointment for 11:15 am got called at and 9:55 am asked to see if we could come in for 10:15 am said I couldn't make in 20 minutes. How about 10:30 am? I said I could try. Called at 10:20 and told them we were going to be 15 minutes late. Ok no problem. Get to the reception desk at 10:45, receptionist says we are 25 minutes late (nope). She will check to see if the dentist still has time to see us. Get called in right away, I explained why were late and apologized. Her response was "make sure you call in and say if we are going to be late or if you can't make it don't agree to come in earlier"...Ok, I said. Take some x-rays. Nurse says " sorry can't xray your wisdom teeth using this machine can't get the right angle we will have to use the other xray machine (more money). Go to the other xray machine and then back to the exam room. Wait for the dentist. Dentists comes does a quick checkup, checks the xrays and says "why do you think you need to get your tooth pulled?" This is after we explained to her and the nurse that we can feel her tooth coming through the gum. "Oh, I couldn't feel it" the dentist said (didn't try very hard). Second attempt she felt the tooth "Oh, thats just bone" (coming through the gum???) "You are going to have to see an oral surgeon. We can give you a referral and you should expect a phone call." Oh, and you are do for a cleaning you can make an appointment on your way out." I have been to some horrible dentists but this is my first in Canada. This clinic seems to be more interested in making money by squeezing people into tight slots and take unnecessary steps to make for money. If you can take the appointment and do it competently say "yes" if you are in a rush say "no". Not sure what this nurse or dentist were thinking but maybe they saw I had coverage and saw dollar signs. Not impressed by any means. Totally ignored any conversation we had with them previously about the symptoms and more interested in showing us the door after we racked up a 250+ bill in less than 15 minutes that did absolutely nothing for my wife. She still has tooth pain. Took pictures of the xray and planning on going to my old dentist. He is two hours away but at least I know he cares. Advice for customers: avoid this clinic like the plague. Advice for dentist: maybe try a different brand of cereal to get your license from. Advice for nurse: bring that first xray machine you used to Olduvai Gorge and learn how to use it to xray wisdom teeth. They are pretty hard to miss in that area.

All they care about is how much money they can make. My wife came for cleaning...they spent 20mis ...that's it AND IT COST 700.00..when I complained the woman at the front said WE HAVE EXPENSES are you kidding me...went to sylvan lake dental...cost was 340.00and they spent1.5hrspolished teeth afterwards.I had cleaning done elsewhere. My wife never had any filings with you...only 20 minute cleaning g....700.00...you cant make up excuses...your prices are TWICE WHAT OTHER CLINIC CHARGE

Typically I hate going to the dentist and dread every minute of it; however recently I went to parkland mall dental to see dr. Slywka for a filling. He was fantastic; very gentle and efficient. The whole thing took 20 minutes, including the freezing which I barely felt. Knowing that such good dentists are out there has reduced my anxiety and I will only go see him from now on. The whole staff was very gracious, the assistant really put me at ease and the hygienist was marvellous. Thank you so much for this great experience; I will recommend this office to everyone I know!

Experience wise is good. Iv had a great experience every visit since iv been going there for a couple years now, usually 2ce a year to max out my benefits. Dr Jenny has always taken her time and made sure I was comfortable and I give Dr Jenny as a professional 5 stars. On another note the reason for the 1 star is after going for a couple years I got a voice-mail from patty telling me I had a outstanding balance of 42$ that my benefits must not of covered, great thats fine but this being new news to me not getting any letters or emails the voice-mail was a threat for getting sent to collections. It could have been handled much better first atleast asking if I knew about it cause the same day I went in and paid it but won't be back. I'm not interested in a collection for something that could of been dealt with on a personal level instead of threats.

I am in my 60’s and have been to various dentists who all seemed to want me to crown all of my teeth. Went to Dr Shariff. He spent an hour with me to go over various options that would fit my need and we came up with a plan that will enable me to retain my teeth for many years but which would fit my budget. He also planned it for me in stages so that it would be affordable. I am about half way through and have never had such a gentle and competent dentist. Never felt pressured to do anything. Icing on the cake? They direct bill to my insurance plan which really helps!

My experience has been up and down..my first dentist was Dr. Kirk and was not a good experience at all..froze my mouth 6 times and still was hitting nerves..and he was telling me I was fine..so fine I had tears going down both sides of my face..enough that I was trembling in pain and fear. Then the next visit to finish this catastrophe I asked for a new Doctor and Dr. Rochelle Zachow and she was the most amazing Dr to ever work on my teeth..in all my dentists I have had she is amazing at her work..her professionalism and always asking questions if everything is still ok..explaining each step as she goes along..I tell ya I'm pretty comfortable with her working on my teeth..my hats off to her..never felt pain on getting the freezing even..that itself is a miracle on it's own..lol As for teeth cleaning..a big shout out to Mary-Ann on a outstanding job..so gentle on the gums and not walking out of there with mouth of sore bleeding gums for hours..such a talented woman who takes pride in what she does..I was there today and we have great conversations..such a funny lady..always great laughs..a well deserved pat on the back to you as well..a must woman to make an appointment with if you need a good teeth cleaning..see you in 6 months Mary-Ann

I saw a dentist here. He hit a vein or something when freezing my face which hurt a lot, he laughed and said it happens sometimes. My face was frozen for over a week and he broke one of my teeth while pulling another and left it be. I would never return to this dentist again. I wish it had a lower rating than one star as they deserve none.

I never write reviews...but this time I need to...I am so greatful to the team of Parkland Mall Dental for accomodating me even if last minute schedule...I really needed an extraction which was cancelled by 2 dental clinic the first need to close bec of a patient teste positive and 2nd they had a problen with their water sewage...so I called Parkland Mall Dental and they accomodated me the next day...so my extraction was done after a stressful week looking for a good dentist...and the receptionist referred to Dr. Jenny Doerksen...she was my angel sent by God...I am always scared to go to the dentist...but Dr. Jenny made me feel great and comfortable...she explains everything...no pain for 3 teeth extractions...thanks to Dr. Jen she was very professional...will bring my family next time....thanks a lot Dr.Jen and her assistant for staying over for me...and thank you to the whole team....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...

I have very sensitive teeth and have come to dread my semi-annual cleanings. Over the years I've started to go much less regularly, just to save the pain. Today, I saw M.K., and today there was no pain. I'm sure all the hygienists are wonderful but if you have sensitive teeth and avoid the dentist because of that, just ask for M.K. You'll be happy you did. (she's also very chipper and quite lovely)

I have been going to Dr.Shariff at Red Deer Parkland Mall Dental for years. He was referred to me by a friend. I had told her how I hadn’t been to a dentist since I was a young child because I had a great fear of the dentist’s office. But she assured me he was gentle and kind. She was not wrong! I am very pleased with Dr.Shariff and his team’s professionalism, patience, kindness, and friendliness . They are very knowledgeable and do not pressure you to spend more money then you want or need too. Dr.Shariff always gives you options. I no longer have that major fear of the dentist’s anymore thanks to him and his team. They always make you feel comfortable and check in with you throughout the procedures to make sure you are doing ok. This place is very clean, efficient, and economical . Highly recommend! 10/10

As a cancer survivor who had broken her teeth .. he was the only Dentist willing to take a chemo patient on ( 10 years ago) He was awesome. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a new top bridge of Beautiful front teeth and the same with the bottom. They looked just like my own.Even better. He even had a flipper made for my top teeth til My Bridge was done just right . I can never every Say Thank you enough to Dr. Shariff for bringing a smile back to my face .Even without hair I didn’t care , because I had my teeth .He is such a kind and gentle soul and so are his staff .
