Another jewel in Edmonton's business community! For some people, a trip to the dentist is a terrifying experience that can prevent one from getting the necessary work done on their teeth for year's leading to problems that can become very difficult to deal with on many levels. Kucey Dental goes above and beyond the level of expertise and care that we all expect from our health professionals in an environment that is welcoming and leaves one feeling that they are in good hands. Special thanks to Dr. Cathy Kucey and her assistant Ali along with Connie and Cindy in administration for making the experience a good one with excellent results.

Dr. Elena Kucey and her staff are very friendly and professional. However, Dr. Kucey is more aggressive in her dental treatment and therefore will suggest more aggressive treatments such as replacing fillings, pulling out teeth, suggesting fillings--before most other dentists will even suggest it. Also, the prices of this clinic is extremely high, one of the highest in the city compared to other clinics. So combine that along with the more aggressive probably not imperative treatments, you are going to pay more than anywhere else. Alberta does not have a dental fee guide so it is important that we as consumers shop around! Even if we have dental insurance, we should still be cognizant of the prices because it will affect our future premiums. Shop around please people. PS: I did a direct comparison between this clinic and a few others, so I do have data to back up my findings. After years of sticking with this clinic due to my own laziness of finding another dentist, I have finally made the move. Please beware.

NOTE: A negative review is not easy to write and most people just want to ‘move on’. Please note how many ???????? the negative reviews have in comparison with the positive reviews. THAT completely switches the high positive ranking that is so clearly displayed, but is mid-leading). These dentists are well-trained, undoubtably very capable Family of dentists. nevertheless inappropriate costs and charges (which cannot effectively be challenged due to Alberta’s customer protection weakness in the dental field). It seems their treatment and pressure tactics are used more on senior citizens than younger clients. Dr. Elena was “bad cop” by chastising the elderly patient, which was completely incorrect based on the medical file of the patient and completely unprofessional based on the elderly patients psychological state. Then the “good cop” enters with a glowing plan to resolve everything, albeit at a price and complexity that only confuses the situation more. We ended up cancelling, without even having a full cost, because their pattern was so clear and the ability for recourse was impossible. Such a negative and dehumanizing experience, done with a smile.

I was aware of Kucey Dental's cancellation policy which states they need 48 hours notice of cancelling an appointment. About 6 months ago, due to my work schedule, I was unable to make it for my scheduled cleaning. I called with 26 hours notice and they advised they would have to charge me a fee, which I said I understood. The reception staff then wanted to reschedule me and I had to ask several times what the cancellation fee was. I was eventually told it is $150. THIS IS NOT LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE. I would never have gone there in the first place if I had known it was a $150 fee for cancelling (and willing to reschedule) a cleaning. I told the receptionist if that is the case, I will pay the $150 (because I'm a reasonable person) and would like my file closed. The receptionist did not ask why, did not express her regret or ask if there's anything else they could do; she just took my credit card number and hung up. From my research, most places charge $50 for cancellations, or, they charge nothing at all if you are willing to reschedule. Overall, reception staff was very rude and things could have been handled better. - Kassey. I will not be leaving my last name.

These people are greedy, Taking ex ray on children for no reason. and they over charge .. Dr Kacey said to me he does not charge over $2500.00 per tooth . and he charge me $2700.00 Then he is very rude to his staff" I witness him telling one young lady she new nothing so shut up.. she quite on the spot. I was left in the office by my self for 1 hour. No staff around, There fee change unexpectedly, Once they get paid Dr. Kacey treated me like I did not know what I felt.I ended up leaving questioning my own thoughts cause of the mental abuse by him. There is a reason for running TV ads and not relying on word of mouth. In my opinion, AVOID DR ELENA KUCEY!!! I had 3 upper front teeth done and they all broke within 3 years! She fixed the first one as it failed within the first year with a crown. But she blamed me, stating I grind my teeth. She refused to fix the other teeth when they failed in year 2 & 3. PLEASE save yourself time & $ by going elsewhere.

Dr. Kucey has performed 4 implant procedures for me and after nearly 10 years they are all performing wonderfully. At my recent follow-up he explained his findings to me in detail and outlined potential future work. Further, he described how my implants are doing against benchmarks and what the latest science is telling us. It is nice to know what prevention might be needed down the road if I choose to do anything. The staff was friendly and professional. The dental assistant, a long-term employee, was also friendly, professional, and very thorough. Overall, the visit was cost-effective relative to other dentists I've seen. I'd highly recommend this clinic to anyone requiring regular and/or specialty work.

They say they care and understand peoe with high fear and anxiety with dealing with the dentist well..... I would recommend they include on their website that they will not bill your insurance plan you have to pay up front. It took me so much to even request a call and then the first time I seen them calling I froze and couldn't answer the phone. I did manage to force myself to answer the second time only to hear they won't help. I can't afford to pay up front that is the whole idea of having a plan. They would electronic file for me to get the money but not them. So now I am back at square one and have to muster up the courage to call another office. It physically makes me I'll the thought of it.

Dr. Kucey prepared a comprehensive treatment plan that included bone and gum grafting, 2 single implants and another implant supported bridge. The clinic did make dentures for me that did not fit properly, they were sticking out which was unfit, total charge was $6000 dollars, and they said they dont give the money back, but due to Covid I could not go back as I dont trust to pay any more to get another pair remade at my expense. Feb 20/20 was my 2nd appointment with kucey dental both sessions were phenomenal right from walking in the door till the time i was done. Very professional staff!! I was a little late for my appointment and phoned to let them know. They kept my spot and got me in as soon as I arrived. Very efficient. Dr. Elena and her team were very professional in the diagnosis then have followed up quickly to help me with my problem. I have been going to dentists for over sixty years and these folks are by far the best. I can honestly say that Dr. Elena has moved from being my favorite dentist to one of my favorite people! Not only does she treat her patients with respect, she has always clearly explained my options for different treatments; she goes through the pros and cons to those treatments and which one(s) she recommended for me. Whenever she has had to give me a needle, she does an amazing job at making sure I am comfortable and she keeps talking to keep me calm (which is important because I have a terrible fear of needles) . The staff who you see and interact with when you first walk in are absolutely amazing! So friendly! I have never felt rushed and my questions have always been answered fully. If you are a student (or anyone for that matter) who needs a dentist, I personally believe this is your only option. She is the best!

Overpriced, horrible service, charged $166 for a missed appointment and sent to a collections agency. Only visit if you have a formidable dental coverage and don't expect to have any family emergencies in your life if you book an appointment with them.

I would like to thank Kucey Dental for creating a Game Plan to get me the smile I’ve always wanted but never knew I could have. It’s a work in process. Today we did a filling and with having jaw pain from a recent work injury. They were accommodating and being so gentle with everything and making me feel comfortable. I appreciated when staff would stop the work on my cavity, as they could see the pain of keeping the jaw open for the procedure. They gave me ice pack to ease the pain; would stop from time to time to allow me to relax, to then work again on the cavity filling. I would DEFINITELY recommend Kucey Dental Group for your oral care and especially Dr. Elena Kucey for her knowledge and insight into gum health. Thank you again to all the staff.

One would wonder how a “dental experience” could be memorable. After an hours drive to Edmonton, I was more terrified than when I left home.Dr Saby was there to greet me,he was so upbeat it was hard to be scared. Imagine the thought of someone drilling into your already sore jaw and replacing four gross teeth with four beautiful teeth. Not only was it completely painless, it was a delightful three hours.Dr Kucey explained to me the entire procedure before and as we went along our journey I was able to meet a young group of future dentists. What luck, one student was a son of a dentist from Red Deer. I have forgotten his first name but his last name is Fleming. His grandfather was Jack Fleming a pharmacist and a friend. His grandmother was one of my favourite persons Pamela Fleming. I was able to meet and remember Dr.Kucey (wife of Dr.Kucey. Dr.(Mrs) Lucey was so gentle and kind. It will be a long time before I forget her. The whole time, was like spending the morning with family. Absolutely no pain and above all no FEAR. I was never left “hanging” wondering what and where I would be next. The last person to met was their daughter, a very helpful and delightful young lady. I had trouble believing that it was all over, and I was ready to head for home. Even after I arrived at home I did not experience any discomfort. I went in for a consultation and was told it would be $50. for a consult; after being there for an hour, I met with the dentist. I had to pay $247.00 for the visit and was told it would be $12,000.00 if I wanted to pursue the work. I was very disappointed in the service.

ZERO STARS. This office is so far above the fee guide! And they bill every little thing. I left when the estimate for my crowns doubled. Always up selling. And they collect up front they don’t work with your insurance. That’s because they don’t want a patient revolt at the reception desk when you find out how much more they charge above what’s eligible. I left and still can’t get the xrays I paid for sent to my new clinic. I have never met such rude people. This seems to be the practice culture dentists yell and belittle staff and staff do the same to patients. For all your 5 star reviews I have to wonder how many are “bought and paid for”. Anybody who says anything bad gets a reply that says we don’t “recognize your name. Please call the clinic”. This place should be fined.

DO NOT go here!!! It's a husband and wife run office and the biggest scam artists in the dental industry. This is evident by the unbelievable costs and shoddy work! The way they treat their staff is also unreal. Our family witnessed Brian? Outwardly calling 2 of his staff members stupid?! We walked out and will never be back here. Went to another office and was told that they have lawsuits against them, totally makes sense. We looked at the reviews on rate my MD and it's all horrible. Never ever ever go here, I wish we had seen them before!!!!

I received 4 implants at Kucey dental group in 2009. It was an amazing and very pleasant experience. I have gone from hating my teeth to loving my smile. Dr. Brian was excellent with the implants and Dr. Elena has taken awesome care of my teeth ever since. their entire staff are always so friendly and amazing.

As someone who visits roughly every 2 weeks for invisalign care, this office is run very smoothly and I am often in and out in 10min or less. Dr. Elena is very accommodating to my busy schedule. Pleasant atmosphere as well.

About 15 years ago my horse reared up and damaged my top 2 front teeth. My family dentist Dr.Darrell Chomay from smoky lake referred me to Dr.kucey for an implant and crown for those 2 teeth. I was so very happy with the results! I finally had my smile back. About 2 years ago I went to Mexico and had 19 teeth crowned.....yes I know.....HUGE mistake. I almost died from dehydration and malnutrition in Yuma from the Mexican dental work. I came home and recovered. I thought all was finally finished with my dental issues.....not even close! My bottom canine crown (from Mexico) broke off at the gum line. Dr. Kucey ended up putting a post on the root and put a beautiful crown there. Another BIG molar broke off and the roots had to be taken out in pieces. Within these 2 years....the Mexican crowns have already wore through to the metal. They ALL need to be replaced and redone. I want to stress the importance of choosing the right dentist.....I am too young for dentures and I thought Mexico was the cheapest best solution.....it was NOT! I wish I would have consulted Dr.Kucey before I went. Another issue of mine is terror towards dentists.....I have been sedated for dental work for years. Dr.Kucey offers several types of sedation.....yesterday I went to Dr.Kucey to get 5 permanent crowns put in and I didn’t have to have any sedation....this is a miracle in itself. He is kind, patient, and takes the time to explain everything to me. Anyone who says he’s too costly is not thinking about the big picture.....just remember you get what u pay for. He is educated up the wazoo....and I TRUST him....and believe me I’m the most skeptical dental patient ever! Through All this I have been seeing both Dr.kuceys for about 5 years. The quality of my dental work done there is second to none. I have a top front tooth implant....front tooth crown....5 new crowns and crown lengthening surgery. The kindness and care I receive there is phenomenal. I still have more to go to fix the Mexico disaster but Dr.Kucey is walking me through step by step to get my teeth healthy again. It’s a lengthy process and I am very happy to have the Kuceys looking after me. I would recommend Kucey Dental Group to anyone and everyone that desires to have that brilliant beautiful smile restored!!! Thank u to Lila and Celleen and Ellie and Priscilla. And of course mr and mrs kucey!!!! U guys rock. See u in 2 weeks!!! ????????

Physical space is very pleasant and relaxing. Mariana (unsure if correct spelling) was a wonderful technician. So pleasant and gentle. The dentist provided me with lots of valuable information that was very helpful when trying to make informative decisions. The greeting from reception to making payment at reception was also great. I have been with Kucey dental for a few years now. After going back and forth from several dentists I always seem to come back to Elena because her team just seems to be better. Last year, she finally convinced me to get Invisilign because of teeth grinding. I recently finished the program and could not be happier. Not only is my grinding problem solved but teeth look a lot better too. With that said, I also wore my retainers religiously. Definitely helped a lot in the long run. Five stars to her team!

I will not be returning to this office ever again. I went in today to get Dental Bonding done with a given estimate of $728 (from my prior consultation). I ended up being charged more than double that with no explanation or warning beforehand. When it was time to pay I was absolutely shocked because Dr. Kucey never mentioned to me that there would be anything different than what was listed on the treatment plan. On top of that I had to pay all of it myself because this office has a policy of not directly billing my insurance company. Definitely unimpressed with how everything was handled at this office.

My visit was great, Dr. B explained all that could be done and did explain that the process could change as well. My concern is that I went for a consultation and quote but now there is another appointment I have to attend in order to obtain a quote. Another procedure has to be completed to provide an accurate quote apparently. I would think this should be fairly standard to quote.

I wish I could give this office 0 stars! DO NOT GO TO THESE CROOKS!!! They overcharge on everything they do, try to constantly up sell when you don't even need that work (trust me, I've gotten several opinions). The front receptionists are awful to deal with. Just straight up RUDE!!!! Oh and the male dentist swears at his staff in front of other patients. Very unprofessional. I would never recommend these people to anyone!!
