Was told because it's less than 24hrs before my appointment, I might be charged an extra fee. Very disappointed since I can't help that I'm sick. They should make exceptions for situations like that.

I went here years ago, switched to a dentist closer to home, and switched back. The staff are very friendly and thorough. I've recently gotten a dental implant done, and when I had concerns a few days later they fit me in that same morning to have it looked at. Their hours are good as many dentistal clinics aren't open in the evenings.

But what I really like is the extended hours and the fact that they bill directly to your insurance and will put through pre-approvals to see if you're covered. This is super helpful. I find sometimes when I go to the dentist, I'm don't ask about coverage or cost. Their, they want to help you know.

I called on Sunday, they got me in and I am booked for my root canal on Friday. Dr. Khalid, was very nice. Explained everything and showed me the x-rays and showed me what has happened. Lisa, the lovely woman at the desk, was awesome. She helped me with all the paperwork, gave me an estimate on my canal and was very lovely to deal with. Not happy this time; my appointment was for a cleaning and check up, and half way through the cleaning I was told that they won’t have enough time to finish and I have to come another day to finish it off. I have the impression that they don’t value my time. I have to take twice time from work for something that could be done with one visit.

The location in the Mall allowes for very easy access, bright and welcoming. Once you are checked in wait times are minimal. A miss understanding was made as I missed an appointment I did not book.. called today to book an appointment and they told me I have notes in my file to no longer let me come in and get dental work done. So I'm no longer welcome there over something the receptionist didn't bother to even ask about or what she could do to clear the air a bit. i even got mailed a bill of 70 dollars or something for missing it... but again I didn't book an appointment.

I had tooth extraction. Overall experience was great. Sorry I forgot the name of my dental assistant as I am so distracted of the severe pain because of my tooth. She was so awesome and help me a lot to calm down during the process cause Im a bit nervous and scared. She also showed some care to me as a patient and did recommendation so I will not loose some more teeth or feel the excruciating pain again. Dr. Bapoo did great too. I only felt the pushing and then didn’t notice that the extraction is done already. Their service is highly recommended.

Where do I begin? I guess with saying that I have a major problem with going to the dentist. Some past bad experiences left me with a... bad taste in my mouth?... (Sorry too tempting) Because of the past experiences, I avoided the dentist at all costs. To add to the weight of the anxiety, I’ve been clinically diagnosed with PTSD since the primary incident. Because of my anxious procrastination, I ended up in a lot of pain. I have several cracked teeth and many cavities. I did A LOT of research around the province, because I was willing to drive for the best help possible. (I drive 400kms round trip and would gladly drive 400kms each way to get treatment from them.) Based on the comments I took a leap of faith and booked an appointment. From the second I walked in the door, I felt gradually calmer. I was in for a two hour appointment, and Shauna was the dental assistant that helped me, and she was absolutely awesome! Very polite, calm, friendly, and outgoing, as well as a great multi-tasked... It was like hanging out with a friend while she took care of business. Once the decision had been made of what we would do (wisdom tooth extracted), Dr Bapoo came in. This man is another absolutely incredible professional that they have on staff. From the second he came in, he too was incredibly friendly, calm, informative, talkative, and most importantly, he was calm and very understanding to the issues that caused my situation. I could barely feel the needle, the wisdom tooth came out in about seven minutes with what I thought was incredible ease, Dr. Bapoo told me he thought it was actually a bit of a challenge... which made me think, if that’s him struggling, how easy is it when he isn’t challenged by the situation? I barely slept the night before my first appointment because I was so anxious. I have five appointments left, and I honestly can’t wait for them. Knowing what’s left to do should seem nerve wracking, but these two really spun my view on going to the dentist. It made me remember that a bad experience is a challenge for us to get back in the horse... not only is my mouth on the way to being 100% healthy because of their incredible ability, but my mind is also back to being 100% ok with dental work. To Shauna and Dr Bapoo; thanks for being such incredible professionals and people! You both made sure I was taken care of, and related to me when I shared my situation. I’m going to brag about my dentists office and my dental practitioners, for the rest of my life! Anybody that’s worried or stressed, this is the place for you! If you find the right people, and challenge yourself, you will grow. Bower Dental won’t just help your smile, they’ll help you grow!

We visited Bower Dental for a procedure for my 5 year old and I was absolutely thrilled with the level of service, bedside manner, and follow up of Dr. Bapoo and all of the staff at Bower Dental. I was beginning to lose hope that we would find a dentist that could successful repair my sons tooth without leaving him with scarring memories of the dentist or having to travel to a pediatric dentist in a larger city. We had visited two other dentists prior to today, that were unsuccessful in treating the issue because of his anxiety and general being fidgety young child. I am forever grateful for these ppl who dont lose sight of the importance of level of care in dentistry. Dr. Bapoo and his staff are kind, skilled, and thorough in their methods. Dr Mah from Bower Dental performed an unwanted Root Canal that failed & caused me severe,, excruciating pain & discomfort for almost a wk, later developed an infection. It's affected other areas in my mouth. Dr Mah also performed a second procedure at the same time without prior consent or approval. I have a partial tooth embedded in my gum area because of that Root Canal which has caused me numerous & ongoing problems which Bower Dental & Dr Mah refuse to accept wrongdoing & negligence they caused me, not to mention the pain & suffering I endured because of that Root Canal. This was the worst Dental Experience & Treatment that I've ever had.

I haven't done well in the past with going to the dentist, bad gag reflex. From the first visit with Dr. Terry Mah and Carmen I knew that I liked them. This morning I woke up actually excited to go to the dentist. It was the day of 3 fillings and to my delight rebuilding my tooth that was half missing and made it seem like just a filling, I was told I'd need a false tooth or a crown, not the case. From the start I didn't even feel the needle for the freezing, like not one bit and they had to do two for me. They were quick and very careful and gentle with me and for the first time in my life I didn't gag once the entire time. I cant recommend them enough, for the past hour back at work all I've done is tell people how amazing they were, make an apt fast cause there are now 5 more people from my office that are booking apts. After thinking about things, I may not have a bad gag reflex possibly just needed the right dentist.

So I havent been to the dentist in 10+ years so yeah the cleaning sucked but that isnt a reflection of the service provided, the hygienist was great she was funny and said frequently to let her know if the pain was too much. I then had 2 cavities filled by Dr. Zuk JR, it was good felt nothing after the numbing set in. Definetly give these guys a try.

I have taken my whole family to this dental office. We use the general dentists as well as the orthodontists. We are always greeted by the ladies at the front desk kindly (Debbie is one of my favs). They have been very helpful so far in explaining all the details about my sons braces and the financial side of it. The hygienists that we have had have all been so very nice and they are as gentle as they can be. All the paperwork for benefits is handled promptly and with little to no pains for us. My sons dentist is so mindful of his anxiety and my dentist is always so gentle and caring. He checked in with me every 3-4 minutes during a root canal to make sure I was doing good. I appreciated it greatly. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone. They have been really great with us and our son!

Hello Bower Dental! I just want to say thank you. My two eldest children had their braces done with Dr Zuk. Everything went really well for them so I brought in my youngest for a consultant. Although his case was a little more then what Dr Zuk was comfortable with, he was honest and provided us with a referral to Dr Cheba. Today I took our youngest in for his consultation and he walked out with a set of braces. I was so pleased with their service. I just want you all to know how much I appreciated that referral.

I love Dr Mah. He is very hard to see unless you book months in advance. Unfortunately I had an emergency appointment with another dentist for pain I was having and he said my teeth were fine. He missed an abscess on the xray that was taken. I suffered for 4 days until I could get back and a different dentist confirmed the abscess using the same xray. Not very happy.

Bower Dental discriminated against me and threw me out of their office this morning due to my medical condition. They said they would not serve me and so respectfully I left and then the receptionist chased me into hallway and no matter how many times I explained my condition and the requirements of it she said her office was unable to accommodate. It was my first time going to a dentist in years. I’ve always had a fear which gave me anxiety. I went in, made an appointment, and received a call back the next day. They were open to confirm dates and scheduled me in. Went in today and got fast friendly professional service. The lady who cleaned my teeth was absolutely amazing and comforting. She seemed to sense the anxiety and talked me though it. When we were done she scheduled me for a follow up whenever they had an appointment available. Signed some paper work and I thank them for their help. The ladies seemed genuinely happy to see me. Would recommend to whom ever needs help.

Finding a new dentist after moving from another city can be daunting. I read the reviews on line and decided I would check out Bower Dental. I explained to the friendly receptionist, what type of procedures I was expecting and she directed me to Dr. Michael Mah. I have no doubt that I have found the dentist who I can put my trust in, for whatever my dental needs may be in the future. We discussed a plan and I was given options as to how I wished to proceed. The procedure went very well. Dr. Mah explained what he was doing during the procedure. It gave me a sense in being involved instead of "having something done to me". Dr. MAH IS GREAT. But i have had very poor service with Bower multiple times! They do not accommodate patients when they have scheduling issues on their end. I have had them reschedule me multiple times and not able to fit me in for 1 to 2 months. Which has delayed my ortho treatment, meaning I am in braces an extra 2 months longer...this has happened more then once! Which has added up to extra at least 4 months in braces. I have had reception who could not even book me because they didn't know how long the appointment would be! Had to call back multiple times to talk to someone who could help! I have taken my kids there, confirmed appointments over the phone the day before. Showed up for appointment,confirmed we had arrived and sat there for over 30 minutes. Then had another reception come over and tell us the dentist is not even in. I am not very happy with the receptionist service at Bower dental!!!

Dr. Zuk explained me everything well and gave honest opinion and treatment options. I was told I need to spend $4000 for treatment by a Dentist in Calgary and I ended up paying less than $400 at Bowers' and treatment was done during the same visit. Readers must visit this place.

Dr. Mah has been my dentist since childhood and I’ve never had issues. I live in Calgary now but I still go to Bower Dental because of a bad experience at another dental office. I get cleanings done twice a year and checkups yearly. Had my braces done at Bower Dental in high school and my teeth still look great 10+ years later. I don’t have a particular dental hygienist I go to as I’ve always had pretty good experiences with all of them - some are more gentle than others but I’m not usually sensitive or anxious when it comes to the dentist. They have plenty of receptionists who are all very nice so you usually get attended to quickly by phone or in person. The only minor complaint I have is that it usually takes a month to get an appointment because of how busy they are - so book ahead of time if you know what your schedule is like in advance.

Dr Zuk Senior has always treated me fairly regarding work needing to be done. Cost is on the high side but also reasonable. As a dentist he is one of the few in Red Deer that I would let inside my mouth his expertise always amazes me and my personal opinion would rate him as second to none . I have been a patient since 2002. Having been in Red Deer since 1976 I have frequented quite a few other dentist practices and did not like their treatment and or hours of business. Bower Dental back in 2002 was the only office open evenings and Saturdays which is how I became a patient, I had an emergency on a Saturday and one of those situations where I had to be at work, my dentist at the time would do nothing for me, as well as other dentists in town and eventually got a hold of Bower Dental Dr Zuk got me in right away on a Saturday afternoon no less and repaired my tooth with nerve exposed. needless to say I was very glad to have come across someone willing to help me and so impressed with his skills back then and most of all current skill level. The rest of the practice dentists who specialize in root canals ,cleaning etc. I have found to be also top notch which I must complement all of them on, also the front end staff I have found to be excellent.

I have never had a dentist comment about my wisdom teeth before seeing the dentists at Bower who insisted I should get them out (I didn't listen and haven't had any issues) Got a broken tooth capped and had intermittent pain for about a month and a half afterwards. my sibling had her wisdom teeth out at their recommended place and had a terrible experience. Overall, I don't recommend them. There has to be better dentists out there.

At my appointment time I was greeted by dental assistant Shauna. Shauna has a way of making a person relaxed. She’s super positive and her mannerisms make a person gravitate towards her. I definitely felt special and cared for in the dentist chair and during my x-ray. Dr Baboo similarly has a great seatside manner. Very easy to talk to and he has an awesome sense of humour. He thoroughly explained the ins and outs of the dental procedure I am about to embark on. He answered my questions clearly. The young lady at the front desk was also thorough in booking my surgery dates, explaining how my insurance coverage would work and how much the entire procedure would cost. All in all my appointment couldn’t have gone better. I rank everyone a 10 out of 10

Everyone is always very friendly and welcoming. I've been coming here for years, with no issues. I even drive from Edmonton for my appointments now, as I have no desire to go anywhere else. They cleaned my teeth well and then they took several photos on my teeth without explaining they will charge me of that. And was suprised when i got billed for $500+ and asking if I want to set up an preautorize billing on my benefit plan. Goodthing i asked what it is for, then i found out that they were almost billed me for my next visit for $1.2k. Even i have a benifit plan from my company where i work, i would never go back to this dental anymore. I felt like i was been charged more than what i was supposed to.

I need dental assurance check up before I can even be out on a list for hip surgery. The receptionist was great/friendly even though it was her first day back and all procedures were new The lady around the back of the receptionist desk was outstanding. She went above and beyond her job description to help me with my surgery form. Very nice and accommodating lady. All the staff was so great given the current conditions.
