When my oldest daughter first started at Lecky's she was very shy and timid, especially when it came to performing on stage. The teachers took the time to work with her, to the point where they would buddy her up with an older student and they would send me videos of her dancing as she gained confidence. She is now in ballet, tap, and jazz, and my youngest daughter also now attends Lecky's. I am very proud to bring my daughters there and I think it's a great place for a child to not only build self confidence, but also to make solid friendships.

My first year at Lecky's was wonderful. I loved the teachers and the classes. My second year was not great. Specifically the ballet teacher was very rude to me and singled me out, and i did not enjoy going to class. I felt like i was being bullied. I feel like i could have excelled but certain teachers were holding me back. I really enjoyed some of the classes and learned lots, but overall was disappointed.

I personally danced at Lecky's for 13 years and now my daughters are continuing in my footsteps and have been there for 5 years. I can't say enough good things about the studio. The Lecky's are wonderful, talented dance teachers and dance teaches the girls lifelong skills - discipline, dedication, teamwork and perseverance. And nothing can beat the year end dance recital which I look forward to every year. I'm now in the audience instead of on stage and it's so nice to see how proud the girls are of their accomplishments over the year. No one puts on a production quite like Lecky's!

I attended dance classes at Lecky School of Dance from age 9 to 21, so when my husband and I relocated back to Edmonton in 2012, I was THRILLED to be able to enroll my 2 daughters at the studio. Lecky's has changed a lot since my early days but the one thing that remains the same is the relationships that the students have with each other and with their teachers. The year end Recital continues to be the highlight of the dance season and no one puts on a Recital quite like the Lecky's. The addition of ACRO and Street Jazz the past few years has increased the dancers skill base and the Musical Theatre numbers continue to be a audience and judge favourite. I am so happy that my daughters are able to build memories and relationships at a studio that holds such a special place in my heart.

They aren’t very kind to minority kids. My niece used to go here and would always come home upset and crying. Also, the receptionists at the front is always in a terrible mood. It doesn’t help that people are rude right when you walk in.

My daughter has been dancing a LSOD for 7 years, and has learned not only how to dance but so much more, confidence, working with others, and discipline. Which I also see in other areas of her life. LSOD is almost my daughter's second home, since she is there 5 days of week and loving all the different disciplines of dance. Each year, she is always asking to do another style of dance. The year end recital is done so professionally and is a beautiful showcase of what they have learned. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend taking your child to LSOD regardless if you live in the west end or not! Thank you LSOD of fostering my daughter's passion for dance!

Both of my daughters danced at this studio. It is inclusive and family owned and value based. They take dance seriously but they are also focused on ensuring their athletes train in a welcoming and friendly environment. For the amount of hours spent training this was a home away from home for my children and we couldn’t be more happy with the experience

They lack creativity and competitions are a joke. I don’t see any progress in my nephews dancing, because they teach the same easy choreography over and over again! Also, we pay to see our nephew dance and not to be another students backup dancer. I am really disappointed with this studio this year! What a waste of money and time!

I have been dancing at Lecky's over half my life. I love my teachers and my dance routines! I really feel cared for, when I am there. For example when I first started taking Acro I was in a class with dancers that have been taking Acro for 1 or 2 years already. The teachers wanted to make sure I was SAFE and was learning proper technique that they made a class for me and 4 other girls that were a bit older learning Acro for the first time. I also love Lecky's for the friends I have made there. It is a place where I feel welcomed each time I walk through the door. ( which is almost every day)

The people at the front counter are less than helpful, and not cheerful at all. The organization is embarrassing to say the least, and the schedules suck. The teacher that we had was great, but sadly it didn't make up for the rest of the bad experience. I would choose a different school next time.

Its and ok school, The teachers really care for the students. Ballet is the specialty of the school, they seem to excel at teaching that. Jazz and Tap classes are weak, we find that others schools have much better jazz and tap programs. Its a school that likes competitions. Pricing is fair and and they offer a variety of payment plans, which is awesome! Drawbacks, the frond-end staff and administrative staff are VERY rude. They are very disorganized. Its hard to contact teachers via email (only one email address for all teachers) or phone. They also cheap out on student pictures, we end up going to a professional photographer. So why do we stay there? its simple the quality of the ballet program and the ballet teachers, our kids love them.

The school provides the opportunity for a competitive experience without unnecessary pressures and stress. The dancers are always well rehearsed and they feel part of a school team by cheering each other on at competitions and festivals. The fees are fair and are easily managed on an on-line payment site. Started fine when my daughter was 5 but as she progressed a teacher in one of her class was the owners daughter and one of the rudest women I have ever encountered. Snide comments regarding my 15 yr old size 8 daughters weight. Come on, I would have expected more. Maxine was verbally abusive towards me yet she was never my daughters teacher. Costumes were probably typical but frankly sleazy and I shuddered having to pay for them. The ladies at the front desk seemed snotty and unhelpful. I will give thanks to Linda Richens who continues to be my daughters favourite teacher there.

Her teachers have been always knowledgeable and supportive and she has learnt so much from all of them. It is always a positive experience and she has made many amazing friends at Leckys. There is nowhere else she would rather spend her evenings! Front desk staff are amazing and organized and helpful. We are always impressed with the year end concerts at the level of professionalism from all the dancers, teachers and staff. Very happy with our school!

This studio charged competition and costume deposits pre-COVID that they refuse to return to myself and other parents I have been in communication with. They have withheld the fees for 2 seasons. We are leaving the studio and kindly asked for these fees to be refunded. They will not. Last year, they said the money was in the competitions hands and that they couldn't do anything about it. Now, they won't share the comps contact information because they say the competitions will not deal with parents, that the studios need to. They even shared that the studios had been credited. So, why will you not refund it? The comps gave you my money back and you are keeping it!? Now get this, the suggestion was that they could use the paid comp fees to pay the balance of the costume fee (from 2 years ago), and pay $46.00 more and come pick up my costume. Right, because this is a costume that's going to fit my daughter 2 seasons past. Let's remember that I was asking for a refund and now they want to charge me more. I have a number of unpleasant stories that I could share about this studio. All I can say is I'm glad we are on to bigger opportunities and more technical training rather than practicing the same dance all year and playing scavenger hunts every dance class. Keep that for the summer camps and do what you were paid to do.
