Always a fun safe environment.

Not a trust worty location. Security allow distasteful/inappropriate behavior, and DO NOT monitor the bathroom. Which for some reason is communal. I've also heard of people getting drug spiked drinks here. DONT TRUST THIS PLACE.

I used to really enjoy dancing with friends at this establishment however I have to echo what Matthew said. Nobody deserves to be treated like a criminal for being themselves and for speaking up when they see unjust unethical actions occurring at any establishment. The wild accusations, assumptions and bully tactics at the door need to come to an end. Unfortunately I've seen and experienced enough not to return until there is a change and I know others who have made that same choice based on what they have witnessed or experienced at the door. The ego must go. To quote the owner in a TV interview, they let in "only the nicest of nice people". I can also quote the manager who will "stand behind [their] staff regardless of what she said". I don't want to be treated like that or judged at the door of any establishment based on appearance or words, having not done anything wrong. Yes they need to do their job and refuse service to those who have had too many or those who are causing problems but this goes beyond that.I truly hope that someday I can submit a more positive review of this establishment as I would have done in the past before these issues started to arise because I do miss dancing, as rare as it happens, and there are limited options in PG. Respectfully and honestly, Jen

The worst place a person could go in Prince George, the worst place a person could go in British Columbia, the worst place a person could go in Canada.

This place has openly expressed that they do not care about the public health orders and do not check for vaccine passports or enforce the mask mandate. Covid is filling our hospitals and the lambda is one big dirty Covid hotspot , if you want Covid the lambda is the place for you! If they cant even follow the public health orders it's scary to think what other health policies they don't follow!

I was banned from not just this place but all bars for theft of bar property.....never took anything. Numerous calls not returned, the company patronscan did nothing. Went back almost a year later to find out why I had been banned and clear it up (I live out of town). Front staff was rude and unprofessional, a young women was brought who I was told Was the closest thing to a manager came and was rude didn’t answer my questions and then said she was going to renew my ban because I had a “bad attitude” I would advoid this place because of the slight inconvenience it may cause you.

I love to enjoy a drink in a lively fun environment where everyone can let themselves loose... this is my ...go to place. . Run by great people who know how to make drinks and party...

Unfairly banned with no proof. When I tried to dispute I was treated rudely and unprofessionally. I love this bar and wish I could go back as I always have a good time. It disappoints me to see others have experienced a similar situation.

It used to be better..almost the best Id been to anywhere. The additions are great ....but the power tripping staff and now lack of competition and treatment of others Ive seen there is not hot.

Great place! the environment is awesome, always feel safe in this very inclusive bar, and the cheap booze is a nice bonus. Will definitely be going again.

This bar so totally blow. Don't waste your time hanging around this stuck up establishment where the employees ban you for life just because one of them don't like you.

I attempted to enter this establishment with my friends. They had no problem showing their IDs and getting in however when it came time for my entrance they all of a sudden needed two pieces of ID. This surprised me as I don't carry my collection of cards to a night club in case i lose things also they scan your ID so i didn't understand the problem. It was my BC drivers license it should have been enough as it was for my friends and other patrons entering the establishment. I was angry to say the least. A power tripping ID checker was ruining what was a great night up until then. Then i learned about other people outside the establishment who got rejected. One for being too old. Another was "banned for life" but had never been there before. Another for having a passport for ID (they wouldn't allow it as THEIR system cannot scan it). That is 3 groups of people who were rejected out of the few that were standing in line. Now I don't own my own business but keeping a dance club profiltable cannot be easy when you're rejecting that many people. Due to one persons power trip i foresee a grim future for your establishment. It was no surprise when i came to critique your classesless ways there were others who felt the same A movement of boycotting will soon follow if you keep it up.

I have been going to this bar since it was the old Gala hall. I have seen it grow and develop into a bar that promotes inclusiveness. In the end, as being part of the community that fought so hard to be included and accepted in the beautiful community of Prince George, I feel that this bar (whatever name you want to call it) is a landmark of equality. I can only speak for myself and not a whole community, but for me this bar still gives me a safe space where I can be myself without judgment. When I can look at the dance floor and see trans, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and straight people of all (legal) ages and races having a good time together on the same floor with no sideways glances, it makes me proud of this community and thankful that there is a Lambda Cabaret. No matter the problems and hurt feelings that have occurred over the past ten-plus years, this establishment gave us a place to get together and be ourselves within a community that wasn't always the most receptive to alternative lifestyles, but which has grown in leaps and bounds. The fact that this bar has been able to open its doors to the public and still be a safe space for all races, genders, sexual denominations, and religions to co-habitate and get to know each other speaks volumes about our PG community.

Absolutely love the atmosphere here. Never been another bar that has such cheap drinks. The bartenders are so sweet and friendly. The entire staff is very welcoming and fun. I like to start off with karaoke downstairs then after my friends and I go upstairs to drink more and dance the rest of the night away. Was only asked to leave once because I drank too much, but the awesome door people called me a cab and made sure no one stole it on me when it arrived. They went above and beyond.

I was banned from Lambda for writing a negative review. Being banned by an establishment that uses patrons can means that you will be banned from any facility which uses patronscan. I've since disputed my ban and if this has happened to you I suggest you do the same. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not. It happened. I was informed that I would not be allowed entry unless I took the review down. Morally, that wasn't an option for me. I wanted to be able to dance and enjoy myself but I strongly oppose censorship so I took to social media. I wrote a post on facebook about what had happened, and watched the "Lambda cabaret" facebook page's reviews quickly dropped from 4.5 to 3.5. The owner deleted the facebook review page days later. So here I am, telling you my story where it cannot be touched. The original review was not even the 1 star I'm giving it now. I gave the club a "fair" review of 2/5 stars. The review included critiques on the music and some things I'd consistently seen in the 4+ years I've been going to the club. So before we get into the really sad/awful part of this "club", we'll start with the music.. It's pretty awful. Top 40 stuff. All the time. It wouldn't be all that bad if songs didn't end halfway through the chorus with the fadeout or transition. It's painful. Just as I'm starting to get into a song, it will cut off, leaving me kind of confused and sad. Then I get far too drunk to care, and suddenly it's all very funny to me. When I took to social media to spread the word about what had happened, others chimed in with their own stories of racial profiling (no less then 4 of my own friends were refused entry on the grounds of race), or moments where they were made to feel very unsafe because of the owner's instability. I've seen her scream at someone for sharing their water and calling another person worthless for not drinking alcohol. I've also witnessed a bartender endure her wrath after giving a young woman a glass of water because she was clearly far too inebriated. When he told her that this girl had alcohol poisoning and needed water, the owner actually had the audacity to scream (in front of everyone) "this is not a charity!". This is not a safe space.

I can only reiterate what the last 2 posts say. I went in for the first and last time with a friend and was kicked out for merely laughing at a dance floor fall along with the rest of the clients and the person who had fallen after we realized he was okay. When she told her security to throw me out as i was sitting peacefully in a chair, i told them not to touch me and that id let myself out. The owner screamed at my back "barred for life!" And now i am on bar watch across the country for threatening management. She wont talk to me about what happened and there is no way to reverse her rediculous decision. Since then i have talked to dozens of people with similar stories who never knew they were walking into a maniacs trap when they entered. Several people are currently trying to have her owners licence removed and i hope it can happen for the sake of the next unwitting patrons who walk in there.

It pains me to write this review, as I have a strong belief that we must support our local businesses. I frequented this bar because it claimed to be a safe place for a good night out. However, after attending this bar for many years, I have to acknowledge the poor management and their mistreatment of patrons. Their misuse of PatronScan leaves many people unfairly banned. This ban stretches far and wide, to ALL establishments that utilize their system. I have witnessed many concerning incidents. I will list ONLY A FEW below, because there are too many to count. During all of the below incidences, I was a designated driver and completely sober. All of the instances below are during different nights. 1) We were downstairs sitting at the karaoke bar. 20 minutes before closing, the owner told us that the bar was about to close. I watched a person beside me ask if they were allowed to finish their drink. The owner said yes. Approximately 2 minutes later, the bar tender began yelling "we're closed!" and started clearing the drinks from the table. The person who had asked to finish their drink had their bucket taken away. The person said, "she said we could finish our drinks!" The bartender replied, "I don't care. We're closed get out!" The person responded (CALMLY) "calm down. We'll go if it's that important. I just thought you guys closed in 15 minutes that's all. Sorry!" Through many mutual friends, I found out that they had gone back and banned this person. I witnessed this situation first hand, and felt like they had really mistreated this individual, as the customer stayed calm and was simply confused as to why they were suddenly told to get out. 2) I watched as my friend danced with someone. They were holding hands and doing a side to side, 2-step style of dancing. My friend was wearing very high stiletto heels, and had a few drinks. She was NOT drunk, but a bit buzzed. She was not obnoxious, she was simply dancing. She accidentally tripped and took her dancing partner down with her. Rather than asking if she was okay, the owner ran up to my friend, screamed at them, saying "YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN. STOP IT NOW!" My friend was mortified, and apologized profusely. The owner told her to sit down, so my friend came over to me and sat down for the rest of the night. She was incredibly embarrassed, and left the bar in tears. She kept saying that she just tripped, and she didn't mean to make a scene. On the way out the door, the owner gave a half apology, aggressively saying, "I just don't think you should dance until you fall like that. That's all." When my friend tried telling her she simply tripped, the owner dismissed her comment. I am the first to acknowledge when someone has had too much to drink, but this was not the case. To this day, my friend still talks about the scene that the owner made, and says she is embarrassed that everyone stared at her as if she was "THAT drunk girl." She was NOT drunk. She no longer feels confident to go to LAMBDA and have drinks, because she is scared that one false move will make her look like an irresponsible drunk person. 3) I sat at a table by the owner, who was speaking to my friend. My friend came back with a confused look on her face. I asked her what was wrong, and she said, "that woman is the owner. She told me that she can feel peoples 'energies' and 'auras.' If she doesn't like people, she said she finds them on the Patronscan they use out front and at the end of the night she bans them." She went on to say that the owner said she will often lift bans if people come apologize to her for their misconduct, but I am unsure of who would be willing to apologize if they were unfairly banned? I was once a patron of this establishment, but I can no longer bring myself to go. I am extremely disappointed in their management's conduct, and I urge others to dispute their ban on Patronscan if they feel like it was unjust. Do not simply apologize to the owner to lift you ban if you did not do anything wrong.
