I have had the pleasure of receiving lessons with Katharine while travelling to Ottawa. I have travelled with her school both as a dancer and as a teacher with my own students. Katharine has also worked with my own dancers when they've travelled to Ottawa. Katharine is an active judge with the BATD and is tough, but encouraging. She challenges her dancers and holds a very high standard. I have always appreciated and valued her dedication and professional opinions, and appreciated the way she accepts my dancers as if they were her own!

I have been a student at KRSHD for 15 years, and it has been nothing but a wonderful experience. Katharine welcomed me to her school as an adult when other teachers wouldn't and encouraged me to take exams, to perform, and to enter competition alongside the kids and teens. Today, our school has a thriving adult program of which I am extremely proud! Our adults compete at every level from beginner to premier, take exams all the way up to teaching certification, and regularly perform both locally and abroad (even as far as Scotland). Highland dancing is not just for kids, and nowhere is that more true than at KRSHD.
