UPDATE: I have now been to 4 of their social nights (performed at one of them) and I had the time of my life at every occasion! The DJ usually plays a mix of 3 salsa songs and 2 bachata songs and adds a chacha/other Latin genre in there. They always have a dance lesson before the event (one for beginners, one for intermediates) and it really helps set a fun, open-minded and welcoming mood for everyone, from beginner to professional. It's worth noting that apart from their salsa and bachata classes, I've taken their "Latin mix" class, which is great for learning a basic of other Latin dances, such as chacha, cumbia, merengue, tango, reggaeton, etc. I've also taken their student performance class (which alternates between salsa/bachata), which I must say was the best class so far as I've made so many great friends, all lovers of salsa/bachata! The fact that this school is still at 5 stars after 76 reviews speaks volumes about students' overall satisfaction. All the instructors are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, down to earth and welcoming to all students! You WILL feel at ease at this dancing school. At the same time though, if you're up for a challenge, they certainly have the expertise in their repertoire! In the intermediate/advanced classes, you definitely have to be up to the task, but the experience is still so fun and invigorating. Overall, you can see that a lot of time and effort goes into preparing these classes to make it a fun and seamless experience for all students. I have yet to attend their socials & other events, but if they're anything like the classes, I'm in for several nights to remember! My only regret is not signing up for this several years ago!!

When my husband and I first started dating years ago, we took a few salsa classes for fun. We fell in love with it quickly and adopted it into our lifestyles as much as possible. In the five or so years that we've been there, we started by taking classes, then performing, then competing, and finally we are members of the Latin Energy Dance Team. It has been a beautiful experience that has allowed us to travel different places around the world, make new friendships that we know will last a long time, and brought us closer together as a couple. It's a great place to go to have a good time, but there is also a sense of community in this "salsa scene" and it branches worldwide. Very technical and detailed dance instructions. The teachers (Vanessa S, Mark, Natalie, Vanessa G) break down the moves, to just the footwork, hand movements, styling, to putting it all together with framework with a partner, slow tempo, to fast tempo music. They always answer all of your questions, and spend more time if need be for the benefit of the students. The environment is very friendly and at the end of each class, you get to feel a sense of accomplishment in being able to do what i thought i would never ever learn to do in a million years or have the capacity to learn. It was really all in my head. IF you admire people who can dance but you know you cant, that is your subconscious telling you, you can can develop that and become that. And this is the place to make it happen! And the sooner you start the sooner you can say, i have been dancing X amount of years now!

Nope. Go somewhere else. Vanesa Stay is unprofessional and dishonest. I took her teacher’s certification course over a year ago and am still waiting for the training videos that I paid $300 for. I reminded her again last week about it and she made it clear that she had no intention of giving me what I paid for. ——————————————————————— In Response to Latin Energy: Unfortunately Vanesa Stay’s response to my review is simply a personal attack designed to discredit my complaint. My original review was about not receiving the teacher training videos that I paid $300 for. Even if Vanesa Stay’s accusations were true, even if I was the leader of an international drug cartel, she is still obligated to give me what I paid for. It was the influence of the Better Business Bureau that forced Vanesa to finally attempt to comply with her business obligations. She uploaded a file but after downloading it, I discovered that it was empty. This is the only “proof” that she could produce to support her case. It is unclear whether she posted an empty file or removed the videos before I could download them, but regardless, I still don’t have the videos. Had she just given me what I paid for, I’d have no reason to post a negative review. Unfortunately Vanesa Stay is comfortable defaming my character without proof or regard for how such accusations may affect my life now or in the future. Ironically, her defamation only supports my original comments regarding her dishonesty and unprofessionalism. Five star Google reviews are very important to Vanesa as she frequently asks her students to post 5 star reviews. Her comments are clearly a desperate attempt to protect her business and reputation.

We were treated to an impressive Latin Dance Show followed by an enjoyable evening of music, social dancing, and a complementary Bachata lesson. I’m new to Latin dancing and have been attending the group classes at Latin Energy for about 3 months. All the instructors are friendly, approachable and experienced. The classes are structured and always fun. Classes start out with women on one side and men on the other. Both groups learn their footwork then we partner up rotate partners. They watch and participate in order to catch and correct bad habits and do so in an appropriate manner. Overall I very much enjoy the group classes and will definitely keep coming back!

I've taken a few group classes here and also attended their monthly socials. They usually hold their classes at a Royal Canadian Legion, so while they don't necessarily have their own studio/facility, the Legion rooms are quite big and have different floors so they can accommodate multiple classes at the same time. Their specialties appear to be in the Latin styles (hence the name), which includes salsa, bachata and cha-cha but they also do tango and kizomba as well. I have also attended their monthly social which seemed to be around 60% salsa and 40% bachata and cover is usually $15, which includes lessons for beginner and intermediate dancers. Their socials are held at another Royal Canadian Legion which is located right next to the Long Branch GO station. The socials go on for 4-5 hours with about 15-20 minutes of performances by their students and some pro dancers. The dancers were really good. Most of the people attending the social/party were friendly and were there to dance and not too many players/flirtatious people. I find that certain places that offer "Latin" dancing are more club-like as opposed to just learning to dance and have fun. All in all, I thought the party/social was fun and members were friendly. Will probably go again and might take some classes here.

I think Latin Energy is one of the best dance schools in the GTA! Also Vanesa is one of the best dance teachers in the GTA and is very knowledgeable in Salsa, Argentine Tango, and Bachata among other dances. I drive over an hour just to go take lessons at her studio, since I believe her to be one of the best teachers out there and Latin Energy to be one of the best schools out there to learn dance! The group classes are fun to take and everyone is so nice and friendly. The monthly socials are also fun where you get to meet different people and get a chance to practice what you have learned in class with others. Vanesa teaches some of the best dancers who compete every year at dance competitions and win numerous champion awards, and the school organizes student dance trips to LA and Miami every year. This is an excellent Latin dance school. The lessons are fun, and the teachers are highly skilled in dance and ensure all the technical aspects of the dance are covered during the lessons.
