Here you will see the opinions of people who consume the products of National Arts Centre (Dance School) in the territory of Moose Factory (Canada).
To this day the firm gets a rating of 4.6 stars out of 5 and that score is based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings is nearly the highest, and it is founded on a large number of scores, so we can be quite sure that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Dance School corresponds to the category of Performing arts theater.
World-class theater, highest quality shows of music, dance and theatre. Good venue for all ages.
Seen a few shows here and were always well done. Good reception area.
Nice modernized art center located in the heart of downtown Ottawa.
Nice place in the new part. Lots of contemporary and modern seating in the common areas and bars to get drinks. Great views in downtown Ottawa at sundown. 12$ for parking for 2 hours. Handicap accessible too from the parking garage.
The renovations looking good. Great new seating. $12 Sunday evening parking. A little much since street parking on nearby streets is free. Getting out of the parking after a concert wasn’t so terrible. I expected to be stuck for 30 mins and it took about 8!
Breathtaking beautiful attraction a must visit when coming to Ottawa
One of the best places to see a concert in Ottawa. If a band I like is playing there, I go. Simple as that. The atmospher is alway chill and classy. Never too crowded. Parking on site.
One of the loveliest places in town. It has a modern architecture which combines beauty and function.
Love the national arts centre been going for years now. They have great staff, the seats are great and buying a season pass to the broadway across Canada is the best option if you plan to go to several of the shows.
Great place to get some work done or study. There are lots of tables in which you can freely sit on, on both the first and second level. Great views of downtown as well. Cafe on site is a plus.
I attended a few shows a year at the NAC and I always enjoy myself. They have enough variety that there is something for everyone and many shows that are very affordable. The new renovations look wonderful!
The chef's table was underwhelming at best. What's a disappointment. One third of the wine list was missing, the pork chop was dry with no grill marks (did you boil these or cook them in the microwave?), fingerling potatoes and brussel …
The special exhibitions are wonderful, and the cafe is an excellent place to stop by for lunch.
One of Ottawa's gems. The NAC is one of Canada's premiere entertainment venues. Located in the heart of Canada's capital just steps from Parliament Hill the NAC has multiple stages which allows it to offer patrons everything from concerts from all popular genres from some of today's biggest stars to live theatre productions such as The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. If you spend any time in Ottawa a visit to the NAC is a must.
I would like to talk about NAC parking. When you go to NAC for a concert, it is best to park inside NAC parking lot, especially in the winter time and you can leave your jacket in the car. There are two entrance to the NAC parking lot: 1) Entrance at Elgin (& Slater): If you drive from Slater, you can just go straight to NAC underground parking (from Slater). The parking is on the right side of Slater (see photo where I have a line). If you drive from Elgin, you can just turn right to NAC underground parking on Slater. 2) Entrance at Elgin (& Lawrence Freiman Ln): If you pass the NAC underground parking entrance at Slater & Elgin, you have another chance to go to NAC parking. Just turn right onto Lawrence Freiman Ln from Elgin. Keep on driving. You will pass the NAC box office. Then you will see another parking entrance. From this parking entrance, you may need to walk outside so that you can walk to the NAC box office.
Always loved the old school look kinda enclosed but have been here to 5 grad ceremonies! Gonna miss the old looks after it is renovated! Excited for the new look!
This place was build by PCL it means lot of things for who want to made the word as it is ,,, home,,, so yes feels like home.
This hall is very well organized from parking to seating. Leg room is surprisingly spacious! Was my first time there and it was easy to come and go!
The NAC is always top notch in service. Never a glitch on stage. Once in a while a theatre piece is a loss, but we all have different tastes.
I love this theater! Parking is always a breeze and the shows there are always wonderful.
We native Ottawans are blessed with many federally funded museums and facilities, none greater than the National Arts Centre. I attended many concerts, theatre, opera, ballet and conferences here over almost 50 years ... great memories. Today in brilliant sunshine, with skaters on the canal beside us, what a wonderful setting for the Diversty and Inclusion conference by #HIOSummit19.
The Southam hall is great but while there is construction it's a both ectic
The new portion of the NAC is beautiful. The view of the city beautiful. It is a great place to hold events.
Very well organised! Very easy to find you seats. Awesome sound. Very pleased with experience. Come without car if you can takes forever to come out of parking. Also chair are very tigh.
Wow. The renovations have certainly given it a wold class appearance. Wonderful performances I’ve attended. I always look forward to going. Wonderful staff.
The renovations are great! You can now enter through Elgin street, not in some obscure hidden entrance at the back. You can now go to the bathroom during breaks, as befits a modern entertainment facility. And there is actual light from the outside in the building now, so you don't feel like you've been banished to a Soviet-style prison.
Recently renovated, the NAC is very welcoming with places to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. The concerts and plays are professional and high quality. If you visit, consider parking at City Hall on Laurier Street - very inexpensive in the evenings and weekends.
I have enjoyed many shows at the NAC. One of my favourite venues.
I saw a fantastic pair of piano concertos with the NAC orchestra and Conrad Tao on piano. The building is undergoing some serious renovations, but parking was plentiful and tickets were reasonably priced. I wasn't informed of student discounts, but found out after the fact that they are available.
A beautiful spot to watch operas, ballets etc. They recently underwent a renovation which gave the NAC a nice facelift. If you’re visiting Ottawa I would highly recommend it! …
The renovated facilities are beautiful, with enhanced acoustics, and generally a warm atmosphere. Huge improvement, I love the "Lamp" addition to the lobby. Box office staff are always helpful and professional. Convenient, well managed facility... we have no idea how lucky we are!
Always an excellent experience. Amazing venue.
The renovations in the main hall are amazing! Makes the space so much brighter. Went to the symphony and had a wonderful time!
Always a great experience to listen to music here. They did a great job with the renovations! Such a beautiful place now! Check the pictures. Ideal for meetings and art shows! Amazing open walls to the surroundings.
I love the update to the entrance and main hall, well worth the construction! Beautiful!
Always fantastic shows, definitely worth it every time!
Very outstanding building. Majority of the people who rate 1=3 stars only rate the event they went to. If they didn't like the event, that's on their end, since they bought the ticket. The NAC is just the place where the event takes place. They don't always run the event.
Nice venue for the arts. Great variety of programming for the family, including concerts and plays. Parking nearby at the City Hall parking lot is only $2 on the weekends. Seating in the amphitheater is a bit tight with not much leg room to move but the view is equally good.
Beautiful theater with a wide array of shows. I am always impressed by the variety of dance companies the NAC brings in. Cathy Levy and the rest of the staff do an amazing job.
Great renovation results and world class performances
Beautiful large clean facilities! This place has a lot of space for a variety of workshops and shows. It can present pretty much anything! The variety in the spaces that they gave is impressive. You never know what they will be presenting next! We'll worth checking out if you're into some performance art entertainment
Don't let the Soviet-style architecture repel you. There's actually great things being done inside this structure.
Beautiful space. Parking is misleading. Car wash is a good touch.
Pretty good place to see concerts, but small theatre
Our string duo, trio and string quartet regularly performs at the NAC for weddings, receptions, corporate and government functions, and have always enjoyed the interior spaces as well as the rooftop for performances.
The arts are well represented in the NAC's thorough design of the overall guest experience. It's fascinating to see how much everyone is able to add to the experience
We've been going here for years, but this year's program got very political. It's no longer fun - they even managed to ruin A Christmas Carol with politics.
Went to see the Nutcracker and was not disappointed! The Royal Winnepeg ballet was wonderful!
Such a beautiful building & theaters. Have enjoyed many concerts here.
One of the best venues in the country to take in a musical or theatrical performance. Even more so since it's been recently renovated!
Amazing venue, solid shows. Excellent commitment to Canadian Actors
Southam hall is still uniquely classy and cozy.
I love its performances! And most of them have live rush, which is an amazing deal to get nice spots for incredible price!!
My brother and I brought our 81 year old parents to the Glen Miller Orchestra tonight at the NAC. The entire staff was amazing!!! Super friendly, attentive, helpful and empathetic. From the ladies at the doors to the ushers, God bless you all and thank you for making this night even more special .
Tom Cochrane, Red Rider, Meghan Patrick, and Peter Fredette jamming Life Is A Highway at the NAC, how cool is that!
I have always loved the NAC. I am proud of the world class entertainment that performs for us on those stages. The renovations have made it that much more inviting and comfortable.
Right smack downtown, this is a wonderful place for a classy night out. I've seen many shows here over the years and I always have a really good time. The recent renovations have really improved the exterior of the building in particular. It used to be a bit of an eyesore but now it looks really nice. The restaurant on-site serves fabulous dishes.
Seats not comfy and to close together but great shows and concerts
The show "motown" was tons of fun. Music was incredible, the performers were amazing. My only real criticism was off the sets. Call me old fashioned but at that price point I expect something spectacular in the sets. Replacing clever and unique sets with video projection seems like a big copout
Was nice
premier concert venue showcasing Canada's performing arts. Byzantine backstage and bureaucratic staff hierarchy. has stale government arts center smell.
It's a lovely space, with fantastic acoustics from where I was. There are no bad seats. It could definitely use a few more signs for those who have never been there, because it is not organized in the typical way. Look it up before you go.
Small stage theatre, great sound, very intimate setting. Almost living room like.
I went there last month & it was worth visiting. They had a good collection of Arts. Hope no one misses the opportunity to visit this place.
Amazing place to visit and the hosts are very nice. Free WiFi, outlets, and couches. Usually quiet, great study space.
The lobby of the theater is very beautiful. It is modern and sophisticated. It was the first time visiting this place and I liked it. There is cost check before the plays and it is free. If you are a student or your children are students, …
The seats are uncomfortable and it is very hard to see the stage from the orchestra if there are tall people sitting in front of you. The renovations made it a bit more clean looking but nothing spectacular or interesting to write about. Certainly, not on par with other major city theaters. The audience for the Phantom of the Opera seemed to be wearing casual attire. Ottawa, we can do better!
Beautiful! The renovations are not complete as of 2017-11-10 but will be incredible when finished.
Beautifully renovated, great venue, implacable sound. I really find it as easily the best entertainment in town.
There is no better venue for theatre, Symphony, concert or show in all of Ottawa. Go if you can.
Great view of the canal. Restaurant could be better for the price.
Never dissapointed by a NAC production, can't wait for them to be done renovating though.
Amazing place for concerts spectacles and all sorts of theatre performance we were on the the lower mezzanine not bad view
I enjoy going to the National Arts Centre for the great cultural experience it brings. There is always some show to attend or exhibit to watch. Meeting with people who share the same experiences and interests. The staff is so nice and friendly.
If I could I'd mark -5 stars. Went for a Cinderella musical with a 6 years old. The toilets are totally not enough - waited in line for 35 min and the kid wet himself. It is ridiculous! We payed over $100 for a ticket and they don't have enough respect for the customers to build enough toilets for a venue that big?!? The parking looks like a bomb shelter, dark, wet, no signs.... TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
Excellent venue - underground parking available, lots of interesting events on the program for the season. Not only orchestral or dance performance, but regular concerts, children's concerts and theatre. The last performance I saw was Tanya Tagaq - mind blowing, great sound and I don't think there was a bad seat in the house.
Last I was there to see Engelbert Humperdinck. Awesome place-so, was the concert.
I have come here all the time as a kid, to now, watching ballet and theatrical performances in this beautiful Arts Centre. Their amphitheatres are beautiful — even the small ones. Every performance I have seen here, I have enjoyed. In between intermissions, they have an open bar with seats and a beautiful lounge.
Great anniversary dinner at Le Café. The duck was incredible (Shmoo for dessert).
O'Borne room for a company Christmas party. Beautiful view, great staff.
Love the new accessible experience! Gorgeous renovation that honors the hexagon! New identity not so much.
It is a big place, I still have more touring to do, Its awesome you should come see it, Well worth it.
Attended an Concert, vaccine protocols enforced. Seating comfortable, acoustics very good ????. Parking convenient underground at the NAC,not overpriced. Very happy attending Ottawa's first big concert event at the NAC.
My family and I went here during Winterlude. This was a great experience, and we learned about the history of Native Americans in Canada. Is it native Americans if it's in Canada? I mean, it is in North America... Native Canadians? That doesn't sound right. Hmmm.
Love it! Atmosphere, live music, ballet - everything was perfect
Beautiful place to take in amazing shows... But they charge way too much for beverage or snack.
We were at the NAC Studio for a musical group performance. The venue was intimate and quite comfortable. We would certainly attend future performances of artists that intrigue us.
Under heavy construction. Very difficult to find amphitheatre seats even with help from staff. Repeat visitors bring flash lights to see the seat numbers.
Sound system in Southem Hall needs improvement. Often a first part of event is lost because music/orchestra overpower the singers.
Love the new and improved main hall. The new seating arrangement is much improved and the place looks fresh and new again. Cant wait for the exterior to be finished and hope they include some much needed upgrades to the bars, coat check rooms, bathrooms etc. Still THE BEST place to go to "HEAR" a concert as the acoustics are just incredible.
My mother went to see a classical music concert, for her birthday, at the National Arts Centre or CNA, in french, and she loved it. The entire experience from indoor parking to the ambiance, and of course the music. The NAC, has several theatres that can sit at least 3,000 people. The programs presented here vary annually. Each year, a new selection of plays, classical concerts, ballet, and more is offered to the public. I saw the Lord of the Rings as a play with giant puppets, when I was a young boy, at the National Arts Centre. That was an incredible experience for me. The pictures are from the food and drinks served at the entrance before the shows.
I found the seating very disappointing. I was not able to see more than a a quarter to a third of the stage because the incline of seating is not enough when you are a shorter person. I found myself frustrated through the show which in turn I did not enjoy my experience. Everything else was good but this by far jaded my desire to go back.
Great venue. I haven't been here for a show yet, but I have been here when convocating from University of Ottawa. The lobby is big (for reception purposes). Outside is great for pictures as well (it's right next to the canal).
Very good to go for music by yourself, with family, for field trips, with friends... With anyone at anytime.
To have a national institution in Ottawa of this calibre is world class. It attracts the most imaginative national music, dance and theatre. With the newest additional and renovations, the building is more open to the street, more accessible and inviting. The views of Parliament hill and the surrounding Ottawa landscape are incredible.
Saw a great version of the Christmas Carol with blind and deaf actors. Very well done.
What a lovely place... Very classy and most importantly, high quality performances.
Very nice place for live music.
Saw Joshua Bell play Vivaldi's winter absolutely stunning
Great performances. Staff always on hand to help and very friendly
I try and make it a point enrolling in a selected dance program when I can. The dance program selection is always world class and top notch; and I credit it with helping me develop an appreciation for the art form. I've lived all across Canada as well as internationally and have seldom seen as well curated a dance program. We've been here for a number a music (jazz) performances as well and the venue is perfectly suited for more nuanced music.
The facilities and renovations look amazing. Competent staff and bartenders. High caliber of shows
I like this place. Nice decorations and good atmosphere. Check schedule and go for it. Price is not always reasonable but sometimes it worth it
Always a first class place to show off to visiting family and friends. Never had a bad experience here.
Don't be tricked by the heated garage... I decided to take my jacket off and ended up locking my jacket in the car with the car keys... Serves me right, I chuckled at a woman who did the same thing just the week before...
Great place for opera and ballet. Missing more shows.
Ottawa's art's centre where you can see the best in house orchestra, musicals, dance and a variety of offerings year round.
Where arts prevail, Minds cleared, Sprits sublimated, and souls purified.
We had our wedding recently at the NAC and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely helpful (Lisa with the planning process, Kristen on the day of the wedding). The bartender, Michelle, was very professional. The wait staff were terrific. The venue was absolutely gorgeous, and we got so many compliments from our guests for hosting at such a unique venue. Thanks for a job well done.
Love the NAC. Excellent shows. A little difficult to access right now due to construction but good signage.
The facade does not reflect the wonderful arts and culture that can be appreciated inside.
Fourth Stage has a great sound and lighting system, and great acoustics. Would come for music ???? again!
My favourite place in the city!!! I highly recommend you explore the gallery at least once in your life. There's so much to see - it's really impressive how many priceless art pieces there are in the Capital.
I was there to hear the NAC Orchestra, but my experience was magnified when touring the halls and hallways, in awe at the surprising and significative artwork standing in every corner. The brutalism of the 1960s-70s may be dominant, but the whole place has a timeless appeal.
The NAC has been at the centre of Ottawa's art scene for years. It continues to be an excellent place to see everything from Broadway quality productions to small intimate plays.
Great performances, but very overpriced and parking is always a mess.
It's a great venue, good acoustics and really easy to get in and out of.
Have seen some wonderful musicals here. Such as Jersey Boys, Mama Mia, Fiddler on the Roof and more.
Great shows. We saw the Vinyl Cafe Christmas Show here. Love the main theatre. I think they need to start offering more deals for tickets though to get the shows to sell out.
Awesome IATSE crew! Great management team. Always a joy.
I have been fortunate to have been a steady patron for over 20 years. I adore coming here to enjoy the Arts- dramatic, comedy, dance to make a few. The intimate concerts and full blown operas in Southern Hall, where the acoustics are …
A Canadian institution! Great performing arts centre. Lovely inside, getting a much-needed facelift outside.
Fantastic shows! The parking is not cheap and after a show you can easily be stuck for 10+ minutes leaving. That is the only downside, so if you can take other forms of transportation you should.
This place is a great place to come to watch a concert, the staff is very friendly and they offer a wide variety of shows. As the room is quite small compared to some other venues in Canada, most of the seats are very good and have a great view of the stage.
Wow I hadn't been here since the renovations and was blown away. The downtown views are unlike any other, the atmosphere is great. I'm looking forward to watching it get even better when they will be done with their renovations. It's a nice romantic getaway for a coffee date on the couches by the window!
Went Saturday night to see a stand up comedy show here. The acoustics were horrible. Could understand about 80% of the show, but as soon as they go loud, there was too much reverberation. Really not impressed that this wasn't sorted out during the show. This was Southam Hall side.
Beautiful! Southam Hall was lovely and I so enjoyed my first of many visits to the NAC!
Beautiful space. Beautiful music. Beautiful theatre. Just wonderful experiences.
Always excellent. Pay attention to the parking guides during events, they will get you close to the entrance.
A beautiful building in downtown Ottawa that offers different venues where you can enjoy an array of performances.
A lot of musical works, such as Tchaikovsky, and also works of theater. But the tickets are rather expensive.
If you get the opportunity to see a show or concert, please go. Well worth it.
Charlene was an awesome tour guide of the facility and provided us information about deep discounted live flash pricing for young adults <30 who would like to watch a performance or show.
They are in the midst of renovations, while you can still see the shows access to the building is limited.
Letting people in 1 minute, 5 minutes and at over 10 minutes after show starts was a huge disappointment. If people are not on time it's not my fault. However, enjoyed the off Broadway production of Book of Mormon. Great play, great production, otherwise venue is very impressive.
it's for every one of us. Did they ever spend a bundle putting this place together . well spent in this guys opinion.
Beautifully designed. Helpful, bilingual staff. Wait times for the washroom during the intermission were not horrendous.
The event hall of them all.
The Metropolitan Opera it is not, but it is totally lovely nonetheless. They offer discounted student tickets at the last second, so U of O and Carleton students: check it out.
A great place to work, and a great place to see great Canadian local and touring productions, as well as the creme de la creme of what the world has to offer in live events.
Looking good new NAC!!! Nice new section with greats views of the city of Ottawa.
Really enjoy going to the NAC and seeing the orchestra and shows. They always bring great shows and musicals. The Star Trek musical experience was beyond expectations. Also looking forward to the new look following the renovations.
Fabulous shows, performances as well as diversity and quality of artistic entertainment. I thoroughly enjoy attending events. The staff on site has always been helpful and positive and geared towards client service. My only disappointment is with the cold calls, which I find out of bound and inappropriate. The sales staff can be pushy, are always calling from a private number, and call repeatedly over a few months (even more so if they are to leave a voice mail). Even after explaining my situation over the last 2 years to the clerks (or volunteers?) and request to be taken off their calling list, I seem to get picked up by a new rep within a few months where the whole process commences anew.
It's been a few years since we've travelled to Ottawa from Kingston to attend a theatre performance at the National Arts Centre. My memory of the NAC was that of a very plain venue with a large theatre and a couple of smaller rooms. It was something built for a small city rather than an art complex situated next to Canada's Parliament buildings. What a change! We found the NAC to be completely different in terms of stature and impact. For example, seeing and listening to a production of Mr. Shi and His Lover was something we would have never seen in the old NAC. We would also have never seen so many large spaces filled with beautiful pieces of sculpture and elegant furnishings. The artwork is amazing and the internally lit, three storey continuous film seen on the side of the complex is also very novel.
Covid procedures are being followed here and we felt quite safe
The constant construction makes navigation of the building difficult. Other than that, a great place for a variety of events.
The seating needs to have more of an incline like modern movie theaters to avoid "the big head in front of you". The stats also need to be staged so you aren't forced to look at the back of a head but between two people. Lots of parking. Nice lounge. The seats in the theater we comfy but need to match movie theater seats. 15 bucks at a movie you get a gorgeous bucket seat that reclines. 200 bucks for Phantom and I felt like I was sitting in a grade school desk.
Great show, just a little hard to find the entrance on the south side
Went there for the Peppa pig show. The staff were well places and very helpful. The seats were comfortable and entire venue was very clean. My little one thoroughly enjoyed the show.
????
One of my favourite spots in Ottawa. Fantastic plays and shows
Robert Lepage is simply brilliant. Amazing set too. One of her best performances I've seen at the NAC
Great variety of events, comfortable seating, great view from all seats.
Hit and miss this season. Can't wait for the renos to be over. Drink prices are nuts for the quality and instead of closing the bar before the shows are over, wouldn't it ease egress if beautiful liqueurs or interesting teas were available.
The new renovations are a welcomed improvement to the facilities. Easier access from Elgin and some great views from inside.
It was the show that was nut satisfactory. More of a religious missionary program. Demonstrated skills where modest it best
The Cafe restaurant is terrible!! The Chef did a complete freak out on his employees at the Sunday Chef event. I wouldn't talk to my dog that way. I went for Sunday brunch but couldn't get in because it was filled with Groupon clients. What restaurant has to use Groupon to get people in? The NAC itself is great, just don't go to the restaurant!!!
They bring in great acts. Navigation inside is confusing at first. They have a great canal view terrace but rarely open
Nye at CNA 31 Dec 2017. Superbe . Worth every penny. Anxious for next Dec 2018
Beautiful. They have cheap live rush tickets for students.
Good acoustics and show prices are very reasonable.
Really nice since they re-did it. Layout isnt intuitive in the slightest but overall the place is great, not the eyesore it used to be. Had drinks at the cafe downstairs, would recommend.
They allow guests to sit in their seats without masks. They do not need a drink in hand. They simply sit, remove their mask, and enjoy the performance while those of us respecting the rules abide. And when you voice your concern, you are dismissed with their management who do not care to enforce government mandated rules.
Great venue for any concert. Parking is well organized too.
The exhibits were interesting and really took you away from reality for a few moments. I believe there is a local art teacher that takes students to the gallery and explains the different paintings. The exhibit on Haiti was very different but quite relevant to the Haitian diaspora in Canada.
Just out of Robert Lepage's 887. Absolutely amazing, not to be missed. Funny, moving fascinating.
Great place to see amazing shows. Renovations are not affecting anything.
Customer service extraordinary. A very special thank you for kindness shown my NAC staff Eric and Phil. They treated us like royalty...and I had my hat returned. A perfect night ????
Always enjoyed the NAC Orchestra concerts and the Broadway shows. Now in the newly renovated venue.
Been quite awhile since I've been here but the new Reno's really gives it a nice uplift
Wonderful and Amazing show last night with the National Arts Symphony and Special Guest Johnny Reid. Hope everyone going tonight has a amazing time. Staff was amazing, venue was great too.
Very cool building and lights.
Recently renovated and refurbished. The seating upgrade is much appreciated
Even though they said its ok to bring toddler, definately not bringing him again, because i payed almost $200 and end up sitting in a hallway, but the staff was kind, turned on tv so i could watch thr play
Amazing facility. Very open to the public with a lot going on. Nice coffee shop at the main entrance. Free wifi and lots of cool areas to sit and chill out.
Much enjoyed Jillian Kielly's production of A Christmas Carol with Andy Jones. Such creative people! And a wonderful facility!
Although it's been years since I've been to the NAC I always enjoyed the performances. But I was never able to comfortably see the entire stage or often the performers. Continually moving my head from side to side or often leaning forward would increase my visibility. If the tickets were cheap I wouldn't mind as much but good money is always spent for all performances. Now I just go to Centrepointe Theatre. Unfortunately it doesn't draw the same top performers due to it being a smaller venue. I hope with this recent windfall from the government some thought is put in the interior layout of the theatres than just the exterior aesthetics.
Great new renovations. Lots of space but needs more interactive displays or artwork to view whilst standing around. Great coat and boots check which was for free. Wine was super expensive but was allowed to take it into the theatre.
Excellent art gallery with wonderful exhibits. I will come back again and again!!!
I've attended many concerts at the NAC over the years, most in Southam Hall, but a few in the wonderfully intimate studio area. It has always been a pleasure. Staff are always attentive and helpful. The recent renovations are quite lovely and freshen up the NAC's dated look quite well. I'm excited to see what it looks like when all renos are complete. I most recently attended for a children's show; was disappointed to learn that they had run out of booster seats (which I didn't even know were available before attending the show). Thankfully, the usher called for extras and was able to provide one to us. However... we were very disappointed that none of the mezzanine men's washrooms, nor those near the Elgin stairs on the orchestra level, had a change table—my husband had to change our toddler on the bathroom floor. A serious oversight on the part of a location that hosts weekly activities for young children.
Beautiful place, 2020 Canada Chinese New Year Concert. China Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. Absolutely beautiful, awesome.
Left early due to staff not implementing mask policy. Felt unsafe.
Amazing musicians play here.. Tyler Kealey, Shawn Tavenere, Jeff Rogers, Dave Kalil, Todd Huckabone, and other amazing acts from Ottawa. Beverages and food are not too overpriced, and with the new renovations there are plenty of bars with minimal wait times. Good blend of casual and forml stages.
Great place to go for a show. They offer discounted tickets for students.
Great acoustics. Seating is excellent, not a bad seat in the house. Super staff, very helpful and attentive. Great show. Really enjoyed Jesse Cook. Ever all a fantastic evening.
We had a great time at the Phantom of the Opera. Only issue we had was finding parking.
Great Show. The renovations will get this place to look younger.
Saw Whitehorse with my son. Great seats and acoustics. Great show! Love this place!
Very affordable all inclusive entry. Food options are affordable as well. Plenty to look at. Kept very neat and clean.
The construction around the NAC made attending a show a real adventure. I'm sure it will be great once done but right now it is difficult to get in and lots of confusing detours.
Lovely
The NAC offers many different experiences for their audience. From plays and musicals to various different types of musical group from dream theatre to orchestras. The decor is beautiful and the guest experience is second to none. They generously donate to every charity that I volunteer for throughout the city.
Was just there for the 1st time. Has been freshly renovated. Thought Phantom of the opera was amazing. Wish we had been a few rows further back (was in row A) a little too close to see the chandelier. Sound and lighting was great. Easy to get to. Lots of head room in the underground parking for my truck
Be very careful buying tickets to this venue. Without asking they add $8 plus hst per ticket for "insurance", what a scam! Last ticket we will be buying for this outfit.
Had a fabulous evening. Wonderful acoustics. Heard Jann Arden in concert. This is a beautiful facility.
National Art Center.. Excellent auditorium.Great presentations. Logistic access with guides. Drinks at the intermition.I love to stay at the 2nd floor in front of the escenario.
Great family day experience at the NAC. The craft stations spread across the common areas were fun and well stocked. We were able to secure complimentary passes to the children's performance called Table Top Stories. This creative story telling engaged our imagination and funny bone. The kids laughed and smiled all the way through. The drop off and pickup area is handy when it's raining.
This production of Les Miserables was very good. This was my third time seeing the musical (all different productions) and I enjoyed this production. Nothing can compare to your first but this was very enjoyable. As always the NAC theatre remains a superior place to see a show.
Wonderful venue to see shows and performances. Good acoustic. Shows are usually very fairly priced.
The never ending construction makes getting in and out annoying. I can't say I am impressed with the small washrooms either. Good selection of shows and the staff tend to be very nice :)
The inside of the national arts centre in Ottawa has been nicely redesigned to accommodate mobility people alike. To explain the driveway going down from Elgin Street all the way to the (I think) Queen Elizabeth driveway is now a flat and smooth and is the platform making it easier for mobile people to get access to the building without obstacles in their way. :)) The information desk is at the mezzine level not too far from the coffee shop with really friendly staff. :)) The elevators have been brought up to date and they are working. Box office was moved from its original location and is now located in the area of the orchestra level it is accessible by elevators or by stairs there is a very long red window seat for you to sit and chairs in front of the box office. There are now love seats and chairs in front of the fountain. Inside the area of the lobby there are 3 oblong shaped sofas all the way around a post (like you would see in a hotel) close to, where the red carpeded staircase is located and The steps on the outside staircase on the left side of the national arts centre has been extended and carpeted. YAYY!! :))
Saw Shen Yun tonight. Very colourful, entertaining show. Definitely worth seeing The "NEW" NAC is impressive too. Roomier than before; but there still aren't enough washrooms to eliminate the lines at the end of a show (but they were a little shorter and faster). Unfortunately, one of the two people who are supposed to sell parking passes (so that leaving the parking garage is smoother and quicker) was off sick and not replaced so the line to buy the pass was very long and slow
Beautiful venue but lots of construction going on outside
Top rated acts, and talents coming regularly to a beautiful facility, the NAC.
I lost my wallet and someone brought it to security with everything in tact. Thank you so much. You don't know how much I appreciate it. I asked security for your contact but he didn't have it. I will return the karma and donate all the money in my wallet to sick kids and NAC. Thank you security for also keeping my wallet safe. There are great people in Ottawa. Thank you again.
Wonderful place with a variety of events and shows. The renovations look great, the front entrance is open and well lit. They could use a bit more redecorating inside (some of the carpets need replaced, that hideous fountain on the lower level). The main reason I give the NAC 5 stars though is because of the prices they offer. I never realized until I went to other cities how lucky we are to have a wide variety of price options. Tickets for many events start as low as $35 whereas in places like Toronto or Vancouver the same show would cost double that amount. I highly recommend the NAC to those wishing to expand their arts appreciation!
Went and saw Onegin. The NAC has a great concert hall and a great variety of shows. A bit expensive though.
It' s my third time to watch the Phantome of the opera . It's amazing.
Staff said kids under 12 may not be vaccinated. Website says no proof vax reqd for under 12. Lotsa kids there last eve. Very uncomfortable with school covid counts and count generally increasing. No seat distancing. Suggest revisiting policy.
Love it. Highly recommended. Wonderful music (classical, pops etc...) and live theatre in English and French, excellent acoustics, beautiful new building, recently renovated. Try it, you'll love it too.
Great portrayal of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. A job well done by all!
Cultural hub for Ottawa. Symphony, theatre ballet. Some great subscription options for locals. The new renovation is BEAUTIFUL!
New seating in the Theatre are much more comfortable.
Best place to celebrate weddings and other parties. The first time we went there, my husband and I almost got lost just heading to the second floor.I hope they will put signs on where the elevators or stairs are or maybe we just haven't seen the signs if there's any.. But overall it was a quiet and clean place.
We signed up for the French Theatre season and I have never seen a bunch of lousier plays. It was too bad because I was really hoping to watch some interesting theatre. Instead it was uninteresting, long and dull, and a couple were so badly staged that it was laughable.
Le cafe is a great restaurant. Pro servers, great food, perfect atmosphere ????????
Great shows...Once construction done should be a 5
Fav place for a show or concert..no bad seats..easy parking professional staff
Had a wonderful day
Saw the Cody Coyote performance on Fouth Stage. Had an amazing experience! NAC did an amazing job hosting Cody Coyote! Miigwetch (thank you) to NAC for their part in making this night happen!
I love the NAC. I've been enjoying the Pop Series for 5 years now. But i am not a fan of letting people enter the theatre with drinks. The last time I went I had a burping beer drinker seating beside me. I hope that never happens again because I will be rethinking my subscription next year.
Seen a bunch of shows here and loved it everytime. The only downside is getting out of the parking garage can take a while. If you can take transit here do so.
Southam Hall is vastly improved. Can't wait until the renovations are complete.
The ticketmaster site is impossible. Have tried to but tickets but all I get is spinning circle and then I am timed out.
Newly renovated, excellent uplift and ambiance. Great place of Arts performances. Paid and covered parking.
The atmosphere at the NAC is elegant and glamorous all in one. I take every possible chance I can get to go there.
Huge shout out to the events team at the NAC & Martin and his team. They absolutely delivered the best service and accommodated every request! Martin even personally escorted us out when we were concerned about parking!!!! Would highly recommend the NAC for any wedding!
Renovations look awesome.
Loved it! Lots of renos in recent years. We went to a show in the studio and it was well worth it.
Another beautiful performance of Nutcracker from Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Was nice to be back in the audience.
