We have been very fortunate to be a part of the OAD dance family going on 5 years now. The amazing teachers have helped to guide my daughter into not only the dancer that she is becoming, but also have been influential with the young lady that she is growing into. She has become someone who strives to do her best, and push through things, even when difficult at times, as the staff has taught her not to give up, and that no is not an option. She has also been given a new sense of self confidence. Kim O'Neill and her amazing staff have always been very welcoming, and are very approachable. They continue to work in the dance industry, and continue to take classes to improve their own talents. The wealth of knowledge that is teaching at OAD on any given day is inspiring. You can tell that they don't just teach to teach, but because they love what they do. This is a studio where everyone is family. It amazes how supportive everyone is to each other. Whether it's senior students cheering on the younger ones at a competition, or how each group welcomes a new student - it is truly a family that I am so lucky to have my daughter a part of. Anyone who has an opportunity to learn from Kim, and the rest of her incredible staff would be more than lucky!

SHOCK Dance Challenge

Kim is OAD & OAD is Kim! She is well-known and highly respected within the dance industry. Many travel great distances to get the opportunity to be taught and dance beside her. Kim doesn't just teach dance - she is a mentor in dance, and in life. SHOCK has had the privilege to host OAD for many years, and have had Kim be a member on the judging panel on multiple occasions. Kim and OAD bring with them a humble and fun mindset that is very refreshing and contagious & always makes for an enjoyable weekend of dance!

OAD is such a good environment and space for all ages and i would recommend this dance school to everyone needing to find a friendly staff, great teachers and wonderful comp routines when doing competitive! when starting at OAD it doesn’t matter what level you are at to dance here and thats what everyone loves about it. when I first came to OAD, right when I walked through the door all of the dancers, staff and teachers were so welcoming! OAD is such a positive studio and it doesn't matter what level you are at in dance, they welcome all. OAD has really changed my life in so many ways and I highly recommend this studio! Not only does the O'neill academy of dance produce workable, talented dancers, but it also produces smart, intelligent, capable and humble students. At OAD, every day is a chance to learn something new and to discover a new side of yourself. We explore movement, style, combos, auditions, technique and more, all in just 5 hours a night. O'Neill academy of dance is truly a one of a kind studio because it doesn't only focus on your competitive routines, but it also focuses on the industry side of dance, and trains you for a future in dance and the performing arts. OAD provides elite dance training to all their students, whether they are recreational or competitive dancers. The teachers are role models to their students by continuing to train and audition as working dancers. The technical skill my daughter has developed in her two seasons at OAD has been wonderful to watch and it is due to the training and expectations set by the faculty, paired with their encouragement and belief in their students.

My daughter (10) and son (7) have been dancing at OAD for 4 years I believe. They have had completely different experiences as my daughter has found her passion for now in dance and is competing each year with her group. However my son is a recreational dancer that has tried and liked all the different styles of dance however LOVES Hip Hop right now and only attends dance once per week to sweat and have fun. Both children agree that OAD is family. The teachers help the kids achieve what we as parents may not have thought would be achieved in the short time they are at the studio. They are challenged and the results are unreal. Even though my youngest may not be as involved as my other child, he is included by the OAD director Kim O'Neill in many opportunities all year round. He has been shown the behind the scenes of a professional show for example. For the competitive child, there is no pressure to take on many routines. The kids are empowered to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. As a result, the routines are nothing but quality. I would recommend this studio to any child. Our kids have developed more confidence, creativity, discipline but most importantly there is a sense of community for our children where they are safe, loved and appreciated.

The teachers take a personal interest in you as a person and dancer and the other team members become your second family.
