A great Dance Studio! I first met the future owners of this studio while taking some dance classes with the University of Alberta Dance Club and the owners were the Dance Directors of that Club. When I decided to want to compete we started taking lessons with the professionals at that studio and we found them to be very knowledgable and great teachers, very concerned with the improvements and success of their students. I would not hesitate to recommend Elite Dance Studio to anybody interested in dancing, from dancing for kids, to introductory classes, to competitive dance training.

We highly recommend learning to ballroom dance and compete no matter what your age. We started competing 14 years ago when we were in our 40’s, with our first competition in Newcomers. With the expertise of our Elite Studio coaches, Dominic Lacroix, Delphine Romaire and Benoit Drolet, we have steady progressed and now compete in Championship Standard and Latin. Thanks to them, we gained 2nd place for three years in Senior 3 Latin at the Canadian Closed Championship. We plan to keep competing and encourage all to learn to dance, no matter what your age! Social dancing is also great fun!!

My pre-teen daughter first expressed interest in ballroom dancing about 18 months ago. Skeptical that this could be "her thing" when she hadn't had much dance experience, I started looking for beginner kids' lessons. We found Elite's classes. The kids really do pick up some "wow!" dance skills in a really short time and then they get to showcase them. That part is fantastic. What I didn't expect were the lessons my daughter has picked up for living life: Teamwork, friendship, commitment, the value of goal-setting and hard work, organizational, social and communication skills. Most valuable of all to me, she's become so much more confident - in no small part because she has been privileged enough to be part of a whole community of dancers, and to learn from brilliant and talented instructors who care about and believe in the young people they teach.

I've been with Elite since they opened after originally meeting the owners owners and principal instructors, Dominic Lacroix and Delphine Romaire, through the University of Alberta Dance Club. Dominic, Delphine and now Benoit Drolet have guided me through my 13+ year competitive Ballroom and Latin dance (Ten Dance) career with unparalleled coaching and friendship! They have been instrumental in developing my partner and I into Canadian Senior 1 Champions in both Latin and Ten Dance, a goal which seemed impossible when I first stepped on to the dance floor all those years ago! Our instructor Jim at Elite Dance Studio was amazing!! My husband and I took 6 private lessons with him prior to our wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jim was a great teacher, very easy to learn from and a lot of fun. He also was great at accommodating for our busy schedule leading up to the wedding. We would recommend anyone new to dance or wanting to expand their dance knowledge go see Jim. Thank you again for the exceptional service. We plan to continue with lessons in the new year!

My son attends the ballroom dance class at this school and he was also in the Hip-Hop dance class. He enjoys it a lot and has learned a lot since he started here. The north-side location is clean and organized, the instructors are great. There is an organized event every year/period where you get to see your child performing in a professional setup (last one was at the Alberta Museum) and we love this events as well. There is a "meet-the-parents" event as well where you get to meet the instructors and talk to them. Elite offers an excellent opportunity to learn an amazing skill - dance like pro.

Our family decided that it would be a good idea to take dance lessons prior to my wedding as none of us had ever really taken formal dance lessons so we contacted Elite Dance Studios and hired Jim as our instructor. What we initially thought would be a few group sessions in preparation for the wedding turned into my then Fiancée and I taking several private individual lessons for our first dance; with plans to continue taking lessons in the future as well. Simply put Jim was an incredible instructor with an immense amount of knowledge and patience. Arriving at the studio, sometimes you just didn’t feel like dancing, however, Jim’s passion and enthusiasm for the art of ballroom was infectious and we thoroughly enjoyed every session. Sessions were 45 minutes which we found ideal as it kept you engaged and you didn’t leave too fatigued. I would highly recommend Jim as an instructor regardless of one’s dancing skills.

We purchased the wedding package in hopes to learn a simple ballroom dance before our wedding. These guys really outdid themselves by actually choreographing a small routine for our first dance! My husband and I were both born with two left feet, between that and bringing our 7 month old to the lessons, we really made our instructor work. Elena was fabulous though. She was patient with us and even helped hold our son when he was a bit fussy. While we were there for our lessons, we were able to watch some of the competitive dancer practice as well. They made it look so easy... I would highly recommend this place to people born to dance, or born with 2 left feet (like us).

We had an amazing experience! We took five 45-minute lessons for our wedding to get a custom dance to our song. With a bit of practice at home after each lesson it was definitely enough. Lessons were so fun! Our instructor Sandra was so professional and fun to work with! She made learning to dance so easy. We had no dance background and by the end of the lessons they left us wanting to learn even more just for fun! 100% worth it for your big day! :D

My fiancé and I did the basic package, which was five lessons, with Kevin for our wedding. Overall it is a great studio. Kevin was a great and fun instructor. We have almost no dance experience and he was able to cater to our level and even push us a bit. Our guests were really impressed and the dance felt easy. This was one of the more enjoyable things leading up to the wedding and we basically arranged it to be a weekly date night in the couple of months leading up to the wedding.

Toxic and unprofessional to say the least. I know dancers from here who have been told to dance when injured and unwell on numerous occasions. Favoritism is a constant issue and is very apparent not only to the dancers but parents as well, even displayed on their social media platforms. Many dancers do not get the recognition and opportunities they deserve while working tirelessly to achieve goals that they will never get the time of day from the coaches to even listen, even though their "top" dancers will simply get handed opportunities to excel even further. Elite dance studio is filled with unacceptable drama that shouldn't be tolerated around your kids. I wish my dancers enjoyed it here.

The coach told my girl she will keep her necklace before she go to the stage during the rehearsal. My girl took off her necklace and gave it to the coach. Unfortunately, my girl forgot asking it back after it. Called the office the following Monday (two days after) and was told the necklace will be returned on the following Friday, the recital day. But when my girl and myself asked it on the recital day, the coach told us she gave it to someone else who went to the same school with my girl after the rehearsal, but forgot whom she gave it to. Actually, all kids left the stage together after their performance and nobody went to the same school with my girl. We asked the class who helped keeping it on the recital day, nobody said they have a clue. We went to the office and kept sending email to the club. At the beginning, they told us it will be found, then they said they would send email to the class, then no response. The necklace is a valuable one and with special meaning. So disappointed about their lies, from the coach to the owner. If they could find it or lose it or even they like it and hope to have it, why not telling us directly?! My girl is still believing the coach will return the necklace back to her and still choosing to trust her. How hard it is not telling lies?!

Elite studio is an amazing environment with great teachers that are highly skilled. Delphine and Dominic, my daughter's teachers, are professionals who helped their students strive towards their goals. They also care for the students well-being, and have a great sense of humour that is bound to lift their spirits. My daughter enjoys lessons more than her other sports. Ballroom an art that you can do for as long as you desire, keeping you fit, healthy and active. In competitions, it provides excitement for kids as well as entertainment for parents.

Took the Heels class with Marc. Awesome class led by an amazing teacher. Marc took the time to show us details of each step along the way. Had lots of fun and laughs. This class is an all inclusive class for any age or gender, which will help you feel good in your own skin. Left the class feeling like I had had a good workout. Now just to get the moves to flow like Marc does. I will definately take this class again if if is offered in the New Year.

I take my 3 year old daughter to the non parented pre-ballet class. She loves the class, and the tutors. There are two tutors and both of them are patient, competent and fun. They Made my daughter like the class. She doesn't mind if I am not there. She waits for the class eagerly from week to week.
