Two weeks till our wedding. We don't know how to dance. We need help. Help arrives in the form of Alana. Give her wings, give her wings! Within minutes of arriving at the studio I knew we were in the right place. Alana's energy, enthusiasm and creativity were a winning combination. She whipped us into shape in no time (in a nice way). Taking dance lessons with Alana was the only part of planning our wedding that was actually fun. Thanks Alana!!!

I've been at Dance with Alana for 3 years learning *swing, tap and some jazz*. It's a delightful school with nice and loving instructors and full of positive energy. All the instructors are patient and keen on helping you to boogie and get the moves right. Dance w. Alana also offers other diverse classes such as Zumba, Hip Hop and some yoga toning to help you find something that you'd like and make you shake those hips ! Also, during the pandemic and lock-down, Dance w. Alana has managed to successfully offer classes online and has been keen on providing good and satisfying interactive online sessions to reduce the feeling of distance between members due to social distancing. I would definitely recommend this school.

So here's the story. I love, love dancing. But my husband? Not so much... until he started taking classes with Alana. She has a way of pacing things. It's hard on a lead in swing .... especially when dancing isn't your thing.But swing is a bit more athletic and Alana has a way of making everyone feel comfortable. Now, my husband has been known to admit that it's fun. Thanks Alana. Now we have an activity we can do together, get exercise, meet great people and... oh yeah, have fun dancing.

Alana is an incredible dance teacher! I first studied tap dance with her 20 years ago, and then she moved to a different city. As a silver lining of the coronavirus pandemic, I have the opportunity to take lessons with her again on Zoom! She's a first class teacher and choreographer, extremely experienced including extensive knowledge of the history of her craft. Alana is patient and encouraging, and the lesson is delivered with a delightful sense of humor. Fun fun fun!!!

Alana is the most dedicated, kind, patient and amazing dance teacher out there! My husband and I took lessons with her over the summer to learn our first dance for our wedding and it turned out better than we could've ever imagined! I took my first burlesque class at Dance With Alana and was greeted with warmness and excitement. I felt so welcomed at this dance school after working up the courage to get back into dance for quite some time. I took classes with Randi as an instructor and absolutely loved it. I will be returning for sure. I would highly recommend taking the beginner burlesque class and then taking the performance level 2 class. I have also attended a couple workshops at Dance With Alana with Alana herself and would recommend these high energy classes for anyone.

If you're an adult who always wanted to dance but thought it was "too late" to learn, I highly recommend Dance with Alana! Alana Hock is such an experienced, patient, and effective teacher. Some dance environments are highly critical and can make you feel intimidated or inadequate -- not Dance with Alana! This studio is welcoming and celebratory of all ages, mobility levels, and body types. She's even designed a low-intensity class for seniors! Thanks so much for teaching me that I can move my body with joy and purpose. I may never tap on Broadway, but I can watch A Chorus Line in my living room and sing along "I can do that!" and mean it!

I took swing classes (beginner 1 and a couple special event classes) with Alana and Jordana. Both are wonderful instructors and work hard to create a positive, welcoming and comfortable environment for all their students. Their passion and love for swing is infectious, and they are lovely, caring and supportive teachers. They are also hilarious. You'll have a blast and learn a lot from them. Alana is AMAZING! She choreographed our first dance for our wedding and she was an absolute delight to work with. We had SO much fun working with her and it was the least stressful and most enjoyable part of wedding planning. I took several Swing and Zumba classes with Alana when I was living in Ottawa, and every time I went, she was so welcoming and warm to all her students. Her classes are super fun and challenging. Alana has the unique ability to breakdown moves in an easy to understand way, even for a guy like me with two left feet. If you want to learn to dance and have and amazing time, I would highly recommend taking dance classes or private lessons with Alana.

Alana is a wonderful swing instructor. Not only is she lots of fun, she helps you every class to improve and get confident. She teaches us tricks and gets us to the next level without feeling pushed or judged. She takes time to practice with everyone. I started taking classes with her a couple months ago and am very motivated to continue. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to dance swing whichever your level is.
