I started dancing with Arthur Murray Ottawa in October of 2021. I fell in love almost immediately. The instructors are AMAZING! All elements of the dance program are run really well (private lessons, group lessons and practice parties). I would 10/10 recommend this studio to my family and friends (and have done so)!

This is one of the most captivating experiences I have had the pleasure to enjoy. I had never expected to love dancing as much as I now do. The studio is excellent and the staff are a pleasure to spend time with. This is by far one of the best places to spend time working on your dance!

I was a student at Arthur Murray Dance Ottawa for awhile. It was a nice introduction to latin and Ballroom dance and I had some really good teachers but unfortunately it has gotten way too expensive to dance there. You used to be able to take a private every other week and attend as many group classes and practice parties as you could and this would cost me about $3500 for the year (I would get the 'deal' because I paid for everything up front). But now they insist that you take a private every week and use up your classes more quickly so instead of the price I was paying before it will cost me over $7000 a year now!!! No thank you! They also did not have an expiry on the verbal part of the contract that I agreed to but now they do as well which does not work for me. I have better places to spend my money. Because they dishonoured the contract I had signed with them and just changed to this new rule over night, two of the owners of the dance studio really ticked me off. Their focus was on getting more money from me as quickly as they could. I don't do business with companies like that. Especially ones that do not honour a contract we sign and agree upon together. You change it for our next contract. They turned out to be untrustworthy to me. So just a warning that they might seduce you with some great intro special (I paid like $800) but that is only to try and lure you into the studio. There are MANY less expensive ways to learn dance in Ottawa and more opportunities are coming all the time so shop around!

My partner and I were married on September 12th 2020, and we chose to appeal to Arthur Murray Dance Studio to help us come up with a sweet, fun jive/ swing routine for our first dance. Because we started this journey long before the pandemic, the majority of our lessons took place before the time of masks. Even after they were later implemented, alongside stringent sanitation practices, it was really such a fun date-night activity that we had a great time, regardless. Our instructor Maria was an excellent teacher and truthfully, our favourite part of the process. She was really good at understanding our vision, and tailoring it to us in an achievable way. We feel very grateful to have met Maria through this experience and look forward to remaining connected to the dance community. Based on our experiences, we would definitely recommend Maria at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio for your next choreography!

I never thought I would be ballroom dancing! This school has excellent teachers who are knowledgeable and patient, and who make every effort to get to know all their students. The atmosphere is one of inclusiveness and encouragement, and new students are warmly welcomed. The lessons are a real escape from your daily routine, as are the Friday night parties, where every student is welcome, even if your first lesson was only that day! The Arthur Murray method makes it easy to start dancing right away, and helps you set goals that suit your needs and dreams. And now for the practical aspects: The ballroom has a lovely floor, chandeliers and lots of mirrors. The staff is extremely well-organized. There is free parking.

Great investment! My wife signed us up for lessons to help us learn a wedding Waltz. We learnt lots of fundamentals and had a great routine with tons of fun moves. We still have lessons remaining after the wedding and I can’t wait to transition what we learnt into different dance styles.

Great place to start to learn how to dance. Started learning ballroom dance here over 5 years ago as I got tired of going to parties (especially wedding parties), and not knowing how to dance without tripping over my two left feet. It's the only dance school where the program is arranged in a scholastic approach, where you "advance" from beginner to higher levels through ever more structured patterns, technique and styling. It took a while to get used to their programs which are packages of private lessons, group classes and practise parties, but over time, I have come to appreciate how each of these components feed into each other, and help to improve your dancing ability. The instructors are amazing and always cheerful, and they help to provide the extra motivation when you are doubting yourself. Thanks to all the past and present staff at Arthur Murray for the tireless help and support you gave me...still having a blast!

My friend and I are in our early 70s. We took advantage of a 10-week Newcomer Groupon for $50 each with Arthur Murray Dance Ottawa and I enjoyed it so much I signed up for the 26-lesson program with my friend as semester partner. I decided to do this for my physical health (dancing is much more fun than walking) but I think it's also beneficial mentally, emotionally and, dare I say, spiritually, too? I was delighted to be booted up to Bronze 1 almost right away (la-di-dah) after starting the 26-week semester as this means I can attend all BR1 classes; all Newcomer classes; all parties; and just go there and practise on my own at any time the studio is open. No strings! I would suggest that Arthur Murray begin an ad campaign directed to seniors. My doctor told me that walking is the best (only?) way to fend off dementia. I say again: Dancing is more fun than walking. No b.s. on the 5 stars. The folks at this studio are truly awesome.

We started at the studio over 12 years ago, and are still there. Great instructors, and warm, inviting atmosphere make for the perfect place to learn, and practice. It is the only accredited dance school, which allows you to claim in on your taxes, making it comfortably affordable. We have met and maintained so many friends at this studio, and often refer to them as our dance family. It is always a great pleasure when we get to share a dance floor with them. Dancing is a perfect exercise, fun, and addictive. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

The instructors and staff at Arthur Murray Ottawa are highly encouraging, supportive and professional. As someone without any background in dance but with a strong interest in music and the arts, I always felt dance is something I wanted to explore. Starting from scratch and also being naturally bit shy, I felt very intimidated at first. However, I found a highly supportive environment where I could develop at my own pace while at the same time receiving objective guidance and encouragement from the instructors. You will learn to dance from their knowledgeable instructors and there are always others to dance with at practice parties and events. It was great that I have been here with this Arthur Murray Dance Center Ottawa since 2014 , it's professional instructors, teaching system and management. It's the best place to learn and practice social dance. I'm very sure that they are able to bring students from beginner to different levels. It's a beautiful studio and the people are very friendly. But, beware if you go for a trial lesson. I was pushed really hard to sign up and was reassured multiple times that they had a policy of refunding it all if I cancelled in 3 days and they did not honour this. The fine print of the contract contains a lot of exceptions to allow them to not honour this refund, so don't believe them in the sales pitch if they tell you that you can change your mind and get a full refund.

My experience at Arthur Murray: It all started some six years ago when I joined Arthur Murray and today I can't get rid of that joyful addiction to ballroom dancing. The staff at Arthur Murray have a methodical approach to teaching that will guarantee you success in achieving your goals and realizing your dreams in a fun and relaxing environment. It's a matter of how much work you are willing to put in. However, they make things extremely easy to follow which requires a minimum effort on your part. I am proud to have a teacher with tremendous professional qualities and with inexhaustible patience which is a must for training a student like me. They are all competent teachers, a pleasure to work with. It is indeed a life-changing experience. You feel great when you know how to move on a dance floor and are at ease in a social setting. I seem to be living in two different worlds: the stressful world of today and the soothing world of Arthur Murray. This is an experience that will forever be etched in my memory.

I had always liked to learn to dance and I am so glad I took that first step nearly two years ago. I have since been attending dance classes regularly at the studio. My experience with the studio has been extremely positive and rewarding. The studio has a team of young, energetic, dedicated and highly skilled instructors. They know how to motivate, support and cultivating the love for dance in their students. Whatever your personal goals might be, they are happy to accommodate. I have witnessed amazing transformation with many initially shy and awkward students just after a few months into their learning. Most students would like to be able to dance with confidence in social settings. If you want to stand out on the dance floor or become a competitive dancer, they will work with you to make your wishes to come true but you must be prepared to work hard. However, you won't feel it is hard work because you will be surprised how much progress you can make and how lovely it is to learn in a very friendly and professional environment. For me, dancing has become an integral part of my life, a part of my fitness regime and a booster to my emotional well-being. If you want to be really good, The lessons are not cheap - definitely an investment, though you have full control over how much you want to invest as the lessons you buy will never expire. Furthermore, the studio is a registered educational institution; therefore, part of the tuition is reimbursable by Revenue Canada at the time of filing personal income tax.

The Arthur Murray Studio in Ottawa provides an extremely pleasant environment, full of positive energy and vibe. It is the perfect way to spend (at least) an hour in one's buys schedule. The instructors are very pleasant and competent; they are bound to bring a smile to your face and a boost of positive energy. There is a very welcoming atmosphere by the members of the AM team and all of the other dancing students. These 2 factors make group lessons and parties very joyful events, even for the dancing novelists. The studio offers lessons on a wide variety of dancing styles at various levels and hence one can easily find his/her niche.
