Great university, awesome professors, huge variety of classes to chose from and so many opportunities for growth. If you are looking for a university with smaller class sizes this is a great place to be.

They should name this university MMU -money making university because thats the only thing this university does. I request to all students specially international students to think 100 times before taking admission in this university. First of all, 100% of your fee is non-refundable so kiss ur hard earned money goodbye. Secondly, even if you have satisfactory IELTS score, they will put you in their english program which will cost you a hefty amount of around 6500 dollars-else they will not let u start your original course. Thirdly, location of this university is too remote rarely populated and hence no part time jobs. We can ignore the third reason but the first 2 reasons are inexcusable. They should put “ Money on my mind 24*7 “ as their tagline. So, please beware and do thorough research b4 choosing any university.

Had a very bad experience like I applied in supply chain managment programme in August 2018 for january intake 2019 and I have paid $100 as aplication fees for the same but still there is no response from this university they just keep on lingering things and whenever I mail them about status of application there is only one reply from them that is your application is under process we are looking into it and revert soon but still there is no response. Very much annoyed and they only know how to take money .

All stars and if possible many more to this institution. Yes, it is a very proud moment when we see our kids getting recognition from the university. Their photos are published in the news letters, prospects and over the website and that encouraged other students from India to get a study permit and then establish themselves in Canada for the rest of life or get the education and then serve their native nation by getting a suitable job in India. Today more than 1000 students from India are studying in CBU and that is a huge number.

Things to DO

Cape Breton University is a great example for the commercialisation of Education. It is okay to advertise and trap students have best teaching staff and programs. Great "cliche" words. My credit for CBU strategic marketing team for opting the right choice quantity over quality in student teacher ratio. As a graduate from CBU, one of funny moments I remember with CBU is I had to fetch a chair from other class room to attend my lectures, all chairs occupied before class start ????. Do not expect your voice will matter in CBU, because they may satisfy you with future projects and ideas. Investing in students is good but that should be beneficial to students not to do research for private companies or B2B. While you are family with CBU, students will learn how to fight with promises vs reality. Good luck with your studies????

It's such a shame to be a student in CBU! I was misled by the overseas study counselor to read a 'very good' program here. Let along the poor employment market in this field, most of the teachers are unqualified as a university teacher. Most of times, many of them just read the slides and you could not get any inspirations from their courses. What's more, some of them even have no professional attitudes towards their daily work, even the paper for final test could in a messy format! Remember, I said many of the teachers are unqualified, which means there are still some good teachers their with professional knowledges and attitudes. If you want to build your academic background and form a promised future, do not come to read this university (except for nursing program)!

Please avoid coming here. I’m an international student, the university didn’t do a thing for any of us during the covid-19 situation, even though they know that it is impossible to find a job in sydney. The courses are online because of covid-19, then also they are charging campus fees, lab fees, etc. what is the meaning of taking full course fees if we are studying by our own, the professor are just uploading chapter on the moodle(website) and all studying have to done by. But CBU cares..about your money not you! I wrote a review last time about the refund policy, majority of students wants to quit the university after attending it, thats why they changed the policy of not refunding the fees, so you can’t leave the university for a year and after a year there is no meaning of leaving. Great business strategy btw! I think if you are ultra rich then also don’t come here, they don’t deserve a penny. I request all my Indian community please don’t come here, you will be looted! Let’s show some unity and start avoiding this disgraceful university. Please don’t listen to any of your agent they are paid heavily by the university.

My visa was refused 3 months ago. I still have not received my refund of total fees nor any answer to my emails at the time of admission. This University might be genuine, but they have my parents hard earned money with them which we badly need now. Any international I suggest you to go to college instead of this Uni.

dont come here, they show only pictures of cbu not about city near to it. there is no population near this university and u will not feel like canada, u may feel like in forest without any goal. it seems like village. Greedy university, forcefully fails international students, one international Indian student was cheating in class by using a phone and teacher plagerised all Indian students so that they can get fees for the subject one more time and a friend I know had a similar opinion in essay, never copied or shared my essay still getting plagerised for a subject of which he never shared or copied , now he is getting charged 3500$ for the subject and last which whole class failed 1500$ for that subject. My recommendation if you have to much money back home and can survive two years without working even part time go to this university if not, don't even think of going to this university you will be wasting your time and money.
