Here is a Ballet school hidden in china town led by Kirill Chour, Professional Ballet Artist, Choreographer and Teacher also a graduate of the legendary Vaganova Ballet Academy in Russia Vaganova method is recommended to be the best method used for training strong dancers in the long run. Because there are a lot of core movements and variations that are repeated and added to as levels progress. The training will let you focus more on proper alignment, position, and technique, which will help strengthening muscles properly and preventing injuries. Also Vaganova method training allowed more flow and grace in the movements of dance. The school is clean and cozy. Teachers are kind, friendly and professional. The cost is reasonable and affordable. The school is led by an artist not by a business person. No other hidden fees or expenses on the way. If you are a parent who would like to introduce children to any world of dance. I highly recommend the Ottawa Ballet School to start.

My daughter (now 10 years old) has been taking ballet lessons at the Ottawa Ballet School since she was four years old. I can't say enough good things about this school: my daughter has LOVED every teacher she has ever worked with at the school, she loves the atmosphere, and she would be heartbroken if we were ever to tell her that she has to stop going. The teaching is of the very highest quality and every student is treated with the greatest respect and attentiveness. Kirill, the school's artistic director, was trained in the Russian classical ballet program and has danced professionally in an earlier incarnation of his career. This is immediately evident from watching the classes that he runs. His students clearly look up to him and consider themselves lucky to be his students. There is a cohort of younger students who are taking ballet in order to improve their artistic expressivity in figure skating; I overhear their parents confess that the ballet experience under Kirill's training has benefited their daughters' figure-skating performance in significant ways. My husband and I have also appreciated the atmosphere of the school: it is wonderfully cosmopolitan (one hears English, French, Russian, Mandarin and other languages with predictable regularity), it is unostentatious (there is no pressure to purchase certain costumes or attend certain events), and the focus is consistently on the students, their personal needs, and the skills and the confidence they are acquiring as dancers. A true gem of a ballet school with too many virtues to mention.

Best ballet school in the city. Focus is on providing each individual student with their own specific needs as oppose to concentrating on competition. Make and female dancers are treated with respect and encouraged in their art. Very professional.

I have been doing ballet as the only workout to look forward to throughout my life when I had the time and where ballet schools were within reach. Then, a friend mentioned a ballet teacher called Kirill, and he also taught adults. And I joined his school. And I discovered the Vaganova discipline for ballet... I’ll go further.. for life. There is expressionism and precision in every movement, a strong discipline, and after some years I realized the freedom it gave the body and mind. A vision that could embody the ‘theatre’ of that world we live in. The school is a haven for the spirit of dance.
