A number of our dancers of all ages have also enjoyed crossed training and having fun with online courses like Zumba and ballet while we are not able to physically be in the studio. We have had such a great experience with all of the wonderful staff, the facility, the programming and the communications. Seeing her in the showcase this year filled my heart with pride. This is my second year teaching at KV Dance Studio and I couldn’t imagine spending my time anywhere else. The studio itself is very welcoming, the facilities are well-designed and always clean! Kailena is SO supportive, and dedicated to making everyone (her dancers, parents, and staff) happy. She runs her business very well. All the dancers are extremely hardworking, supportive of each other, dedicated, and willing to learn. Nothing makes me happier than being able to share my passion of acrobatics with my students. I can tell they really love what they do and they really love dancing at KV. It makes me so happy to see that kids love acro as much as I do. I spend many hours here, and I can honestly say I love being part of the KV family, I’m so happy here! KV Dance Studio is a wonderful place that my 11 year old daughter feels very "at home" being there. Kailena has taught our daughter dance since she was 3 or 4 and we followed her to her own dance studio 1.5 years ago. Although competitive dance fees are high, Kailena makes every effort to try to keep expenses down as much as possible. One way this year was to use a competitive dance costume from last year for one of our daughter's dance routines. We very much appreciate that. Kailena is professional and always open to discussing concerns. Our daughter has progressed greatly since joining the competitive stream.

I am quite confused by "Nepeans" review....it's as if he/she is confused about which studio they're reviewing. Over the years my children have taken dance classes at 3 different studios and I have personal experience with others from nieces and friends classes/recitals. I adore KV Studios and the main reason is Kailenas passion not just for dance but for the students she works with. GNAG had a solid program for a community centre, but I think that was in large part because of Kailenas efforts. She's now running a dance school that is competitive with other similar programs in Ottawa and throughout North America. One of the schools we attended briefly did an end of year recital at a larger venue. Because of this they had to charge more to cover costs ($25 per ticket)... But there were 2 nights of the recital, so that meant if you watched both nights, you had to buy 2 tickets. And costumes were $60 per child, per dance (no matter what level dance, age or style). And then yes, DVDs and pictures were additional cost too. I am not sharing this to complain about another studio.....but to give an example...because this is the norm for dance schools/programs. Kailena has created a beautiful, warm and inviting studio. The older competitive dancers are sweet and encouraging to the younger students. The costumes are respectful and age appropriate and while I know that some costumes will gave a greater cost, I really appreciate that the costumes for the younger kids are kept simple and sweet. Even my boys for hip hop had costumes chosen that could be worn again, instead of me spending several hundreds of dollars for tulle that looked cute in pictures and then took up space in the closet for the next several years. All this to say....there are many options for activities for our children. If you want community center pricing, Ottawa Recreation Guide has many options, but if you want a solid, well structured, organized dance program that will give your child a strong dance foundation, discipline and physical growth, led by an intelligent business woman who is passionate about dance and her students...... You can not find a better place than KV Studios.

The instructors are absolutely amazing and care so much about their students. It really shows in their interaction with the kids as well as in the performance of the dances. Kailena is a fantastic role model in her love of dance, her work ethic, and her passion to provide what is best for her students. She is continually going above and beyond for her staff and students trying to make dancing here a wonderful and constructive experience. I did not have a good experience on my first class. the instructor was a sub, but the class was very vague, and almost the whole class was "improv" very little guidance. I then asked if I could get a credit to use into another class, and they said no because I stayed the whole class. but my question is: How would I know that the class was so vague if I dont stay for the full class?? =S Instead they suggested me to buy a new discounted pass. but with the first experience I had, it would be very hard to want to buy another pass.

KV has done an excellent job keeping classes going during these unprecedented and uncertain times. Online classes have enabled dancers to keep up with their choreography, fitness and even social time when going to the studio hasn’t been an option. Although dancing at home isn’t the same as being in the studio (having downstairs neighbours has prevented me from wearing my tap shoes in my living room!), the teachers have done an extraordinary job making the experience feel as normal as possible. They bring a great attitude to every class and put the same level of care into the routines as they always have. I’ve been extremely impressed with KV from the start, and their transition to online classes has been no exception!

Knowing Kailena for decades I definitively comment on the person she is, her aspirations, motives and enthusiasm. Although running a business and to succeed in that the need for financial success is obvious, it isn't the reason or motive that propels her on every step she and her great team of teachers, dancers and assistants are on the look out for. Their main motive is still the love for dancing, the creative passion, the utter best they can give to her students, parents and colleagues, inspired daily by Kailena. Every aspect for the wellbeing of these students are taken care of. Every time a new opportunity rises to improve or better their experiences is visited, and if beneficial to the students and or the parent, she will pursue that venue. The list of professional providers at the student reach and or parents' disposal is long, and it goes further than the studio ambiance, the change rooms, the dance space, the reception, the support of outside professionals, the security of her students and staff, the delivery of healthy after school meals, and so on. So, we as parents know the cost of paying for activities of our children, and should also realize that services, almost any type available, come with a cost. Other than that, since KV Dance started their performance at the new venue, has been the only time in a decade since we had no worries about seating, happy with the outcome and looking forward to many more pleasant, successful presentations to come. This studio provides our children with a second family, one that is nurturing, pleasant, where the children feel and embrace the place and the people they meet, who are not only dancers, but friends with a positive impression, supportive and involved in dancing and wellbeing of the group, older or younger. KV Dance school has been a positive addition to the tapestry of dance studios and places offered in Ottawa. As for the owner, there is no lack of creativity, care and passion for what she does.

Great studio, with amazing teachers and bright, clean classrooms. Very friendly and inclusive. We also appreciated very much how they responded to the COVID crisis. When the studio had to close, within a few days they moved all classes online and our 8 year old daughter continued having her 4 sessions per week with no interruption. Many other online sessions were also added, for both kids and adults, so now I also do Zumba (on Zoom) twice a week with my daughter, which has been a great way to keep active and also feel connected with others. I have only ever had positive experiences at KV Dance Studio. Kailena has created an incredible environment at her studio that is welcoming and encouraging of every dancer, teacher and parent. She is not only the Studio Owner and Artistic Director, but she is the best friend of her dancers, the cheerleader for her teachers and the reassuring voice for the parents. She goes above and beyond so that her students can receive the best dance training at an extraordinarily affordable price (I danced and competed at another dance studio for ten years and my parents paid at least five time of what her competitive parents are paying. KV offers by far the best rates for their incredible services offered in the city). Not only that but she makes her studio the perfect fit for every family through her walkover services, dinner and snack options, camps, DVDs of performances (That are affordable, especially considering the price of other studios) etc. Kailena takes so much initiative to make sure that families can afford high quality dance training for their children and ensures that their children will be taken care of. Both Kailena and her teachers are very qualified and want the best for their students. They provide great instruction to help their dancers improve - whether it be through encouraging pep talk, teaching new techniques, providing valuable feedback to their dancers or meeting up outside class to help their dancers. Kailena and her staff are amazing dance instructors but also amazing role models for the dancers at the studio. The facilities at KV are modern, clean and comfortable. The colours on the walls bring excitement to the studio and the couches and rugs in the lounge area make the studio home away for home for the dancers - whether they are doing homework or just hanging out. The competitive program at KV is highly recommended. The dancers in the competitive program are able to improve on their dancing technique and push themselves to achieve their best in an overwhelmingly positive environment. Kailena brings in numerous outside teachers and choreographers to give her students exposure to new dance styles and perspectives on dance. The competitive program (Compared to those at other dance studios) is again amazingly affordable. Kailena organizes not only the dances, rehearsals and costumes but takes the unnecessary but greatly appreciated initiative to provide her dancers with make up kits, hair kits, carpooling etc. to ensure that her dancers of the caliber that the competitive program requires and their families can fit the competitive program into their lifestyles. I will be forever grateful that Kailena and her studio came into my life. She has given me the opportunity to grow through dance to become a person I am proud to be. She is an incredible role model and friend. I will always recommend KV Dance Studio to dancers, both new and experienced. It is truly an environment unlike any other studio in the city and I am so lucky to be a part of it.

A wide variety of classes offered and taught by a talented team of teachers for all age ranges including adults! From the moment that Kailena told me she was opening her own studio I followed her journey, eager to see how it all came together. Though I knew she would do a wonderful job, she has surpassed any and all expectations I had! I taught with Kailena at another location where she inspired her students to work as hard as they could, no matter if they were dancing for one hour a week, or 10 hours a week. I believe she has maintained that outlook on dancing because she interacts with all students in a similar manner. I had the pleasure of spending a day at the studio a few weeks ago where students of all ages and levels learned choreography, and practiced technique together. It didn't matter who was on the competitive team, and who only took one class each week, they all worked hard and had a great time. On top of that, they all chose to spend a full day at the studio for fun (it wasn't regular class time)! I was a competitive dance for several years in Ottawa and had a wonderful experience at a studio that provided a safe space for anyone, and it warms my heart to see Kailena offering a similar (if not better) experience to girls that I used to teach! I am now studying business at the university level, and haven't been able to teach classes. Each time I visit the studio I am inspired by Kailena's entrepreneurial skills, and jealous of all the instructors that get to work in such a positive environment!
