Great instructors, friendly environment, great place to start learning how to dance. Sometimes some classes can get crowded though. That's a credit to how good it is.
Amazing lessons and super warm atmosphere!!!!

Steps Dance Studio is a very professional and forward learning institute. Integrating both traditional and urban styles of dancing, Jennifer and the wonderful team of instructors: Jenna, Jason, Angelo, Ivan, Anastasia are always challenging their students in a friendly and encouraging environment. Steps constantly brings in World Salsa champions, like Anya Katsevman, Tito and Tamara and many others, providing many opportunities for technique enhancement and skills building. In addition, Steps provides a safe space for all its members; you can choose to lead, follow and further participate in role-neutral classes. With respect to comments on administration, the policy is clear. Many students go up a level without proper assessment, placing them and the instructors in unwanted positions. There are many instructors throughout the week with different styles and pace of dancing to suit all students' needs. If you feel you've mastered your level, ask for an assessment. If you feel group lessons are slow-paced for you, Steps offers private and semi-private classes for your convenience. From Taco Fest to Salsa on St. Clair, the Steps family will leave you craving for more. I started with a group-on deal and have been hooked since. Check it out yourself ! Signed, A Proud Steps Member
Definitely recommend ????????????????????????????????
it’s the best place I found in Toronto after visit few dance studios. Many professional instructors, 3 clean classrooms and plus one private classroom, they have many class options, they also have assessment system to test your dance level for each level before you go to next level. I really feel the money spent here is really worth it because I am learning fast since I came here.
Great sense of community, and an unlimited monthly deal that's so worth it! Steps has become my home, and people there have become some of my best friends -- almost like family.
some of the classes can be a bit crowded. But I don't mind it. I love the fact that I can attend classes on different days of the week for the same level. That means more practice with different instructors. You pay a monthly fee and attend as many classes (salsa, bachata, ...) as your level allows which I think is awesome. There are also lots of students who have been attending these classes for a really long time and can help new students big time.
Another great dance school in the heart of Toronto. Great teachers, nice studio, and very organized. I have to give a special mention to their dance prof. Jenifer; Anybody who can play Teddy Pendergrass’ “Turn out the Lights” during a beginner salsa class, ranks extremely high in cool factor as far as I’m concerned. Thanks Steps.
Always fun here at Steps. The instructors make you feel very welcome. No Complaints! Will return :)
Rude, unprofessional, egotistic teacher, Angelo owner of the studio started picking on me and kicked me out of the class half way in front of my friends saying you are doing it wrong. They also refused to refund the money I paid for 10 classes so basically my money is gone just to be kicked out on the first class.
Best dance school in the city for salsa and bachata lessons - the teachers are all pros, but more importantly, they're all great instructors and provide individualized help and support when you need it. You really can't go wrong no matter which teacher you end up with. Would highly recommend!
Indifferent reception, instructors are often late or never show. Beginner class was thrown in with a higher level group, without providing basic instruction.
Ever since I was a little kid and learned some dance moves while on vacation in Cuba, I wanted to pursue formal lessons but never really made the commitment. But then I took advantage of Steps’ one-month promo and knew without a doubt it was the place for me. Not only is it such a welcoming place with a great variety of classes and socials throughout the year, the staff is so friendly and they are great at what they do!
Excellent dance studio that offers a variety of Latin dance classes. Flexible class schedule, professional instructors and staff and beautiful big, clean and bright studios. Would recommend for beginners as well as advanced dancers looking to lean more, perform or even compete. They also offer specialty workshops and monthly studio socials to practice and meet other students. Highly recommend.
The salsa teachers are funny ! Some of them are more about technique while others are more into improvisation aka "do whatever you want" They'll provide a free assessment to gauge which salsa class level you should go to.
Went to this dance school for a month, they had a great promo going on then. Good instructors. Only issue was the broken A/C during Jul-Aug. But they offered free water bottles :)
I love steps, steps changed my life <3
Such a good class! Sometimes I dance too much so it is good to switch things up. Emily Downs is a fun teacher - her stretch and strength class was just what I needed to loosen up those hips for maximum salsa swinging!
Great dance school! Their all-inclusive pass lets you take all the classes you want at your level or below. You can dance almost every night.. Lots of people take up to 3 classes per night. Easy to get to know people. Great instructors. Fun atmosphere. Very inclusive of all levels.
Be Mindful. never ever give them your credit card info. Managements are dreadful, reception inexperienced and disillusioned. they will run charges on your credit card and you will have to fight it. receptionists are not well trained to explain classes and fees associated with them. not ill intentioned , however unprofessional
The learning process is very slow. I attended 7-8 class of Salsa 1, teacher only taught 3 moves. The two female teachers are repeating and repeating. Male teachers teaches more.
Great instructors and huge selection of classes
Amazing dance studio. Spacious and sunny dance rooms with fantastic instructors. Wonderful customer service. So happy that I joined. ????Rosemarie
Steps has an amazing fun atmosphere for learning latin dancing. Lots of expertise and flexibility in helping you learn salsa, bachata and other popular styles. You could join a performance group, and the teachers will go beyond and above to help you perfect your dancing and build a great team. This is so much better than the gym where you sweat on your own :) You can lose a lot of weight just dancing salsa, and you can correct your posture damaged by constant sitting in front of PC, and make your whole body look and feel better. And you will get to know great people. Partners are not required as school takes care of this. I'd definetely recommend this school as one of top three in Toronto and GTA whether you are a beginner or a more advanced dancer wanting to take yout dancing skills up a notch.
Great classes, talented teachers, talented + friendly students. Visited all dance studios in Markham/Scarborough and the quality of classes was not even half as good as Steps.
This is more a review of the studio itself than the actual business. I took a few classes at their old location and it was okay, but this new location is amazing. It's clean, three nice rooms, good floors and decent sound system. I've been to one of their socials and the instructor teaching was very friendly as were all the people. If I lived closer, I'd definitely take some classes here but for now, I'll just attend their monthly socials which are fun too.
Best place to start your dance experience. Flexible hours, nice instructors, friendly environment .
I think this is the only studio in Toronto that has Salsa and Bachata classes almost everyday day. The instructors are amazing and very experienced. Good place to become a better dancer and meet new friends! They are not really great at customer service (emails are not answered and it is really hard to get someone on the phone, however, in person issues get solved)... but let’s be realistic, you are here to dance, not for customer service
Great experience! Took my mother with me for an outdoor lesson and we both had a good time. Highly recommend.
Rude staff. Came to ask about classes and 2 staff members just completely ignored me. Waited a long time before another staff member came through the door and approached me. If this is how they treat new customers I can't imagine how they treat their students. Will spend my money elsewhere.
Business ignores my emails asking them for dance lessons Follow up emails are also ignored way to ignore and turn off prospective new clients. Sent an email waited 2 months no reply sent another one its been another month again no reply. A business who does not look to grow their business is doomed to fail.
Awsome staff. Great classes! Honestly the best place to start.
Best Latin dance school for all levels.
Please be aware that at this place, the money paid by customers through groupon is not honored. According to groupon, the money paid, never expires and should be counted towards other purchases, in this case, other classes. Also, the front desk clerks don't seem to be trained on how to deal with customers.
Great classes! Awesome beginner classes and workshops. Staff are nice. Elevator is slow but at least it's there.
Very poor customer service. The receptionist was extremely rude. My girlfriend and I each purchased a 10 class package through Groupon. We arrived last Wednesday and had trouble signing in on the iPad. We advised the receptionist and she told us to proceed with the class, as she looked into the situation. Five minutes later the receptionist enters the classroom and pulls me and my girlfriend out in front of everyone. She then advised us that our Groupon was expired (which we were not aware of) and that we had to leave promptly. We were not allowed to finish the class and we were humiliated in front of everyone. I called and left a voice mail for Jessica Aucoin the founder and still have not heard back. I would not recommend this studio and found my experience to be very unprofessional.
Friendly and exceptional instructors. Great place to learn Salsa and Bachata!
I've been going here for over a year now and it's really an amazing and addicting place. The instructors are so knowledgeable and caring and the community is great. The unlimited membership is unique and means i can go to as many classes as i want each month.
Excellent school if you want to learn salsa. They have a membership which includes unlimited classes if you want to go multiple times a week.
