I don't think my children will ever love a teacher as much as they do Kristen! She's encouraging to all dancers and her songs and style make ballet accessible and fun. My kids especially love movie nights. So happy to have found this amazing place in the east end!

My daughter joined the minischool program during the January school closures. She immediately fell in love with the teacher/staff, I loved seeing her flourish and coming home talking about all the fun activities and seeing her make friendships and continuing to learn in a positive environment.I can't say enough good things about the school and it's staff :) This is one special place!

One of the East side's best kept secrets! The teachers love what they do and it shows. For a trail run, check out their movie night events (dance lesson, dinner & a movie) which allows enough time for parents to have a date night. The summer camps are also wonderful and my 3 & 6 year old adore the diverse and active range of activities. And for more professional experiences, sign up for dance lessons (kids and adults). All skill levels and ages are embraced and the teachers are positive and fabulous!

She is engaging, knowledgeable and patient with all the tots. My daughter loves it and I have been so impressed with the level of service I have received as a parent. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone.

My daughter has been with Monarch Movement for almost 3 years. I feel it has given her confidence in performing and being in front of an audience. It is very well organized and Kristen the creator gives it her all and is so patient as a teacher. The girls really look up to her and I think she's a great role model to have. It's a terrific program if you are looking for a structured group lesson that requires attention and concentration. The Friday movie nights that are offered are fantastic as well. Would highly recommend it.

My kids just finished the week long summer session of Monarch Movement in Vancouver. It was my older child's third summer and the first for my youngest. My kids LOVED it. I think it's a great experience to get up on a stage and have fun with a bunch of other kids. The final show was fantastic but that's not at all what it's about. Just the kids up there having fun and showing off the incredible skills they have learned over the week. While it would break my bank, I kind of wish there was a two week option again as my kids loved it so much! Thanks to Kristen and all the fantastic staff. We will certainly be back for 2017.

We were so excited to find Monarch Movement. Not only does director and teacher Kristen Dennis have an excellent ballet pedigree (National Ballet School and Company etc. etc.) she is also a fabulous teacher - particularly of children. Children get a strong foundation in technique but they also learn to enjoy dancing with creative time in each class and also several performance opportunities on real stages. MM Camps are fun for the kids, with a wide variety of activities with impressive teachers (e.g. art taught by an OCAD grad). Movie Nights are fun for kids and give the adults a chance to have a "date night"! I can't say enough good things about Monarch Movement!

My daughter absolutely loves her ballet classes with Monarch Movement! We have been taking classes and going to camps with them for over 3 years. The staff are amazing with the kids and my daughter looks forward to class each week. The year end performances are beautiful and the camps are creative and well thought out. My four-year-old daughter has enjoyed taking ballet classes at Monarch Movement (now Leslieville School of Dance) for the past 2 years. She loves it! Kristen and her teachers are not only top professionals but are also so patient and sweet with the little ballerinas, it’s a pleasure to watch! We also recently tried Children’s Yoga Class and I was afraid my super active girl wouldn’t sit through it but the instructor Alana kept her engaged and interested all through the 45 min class… I couldn’t believe it.
