I've always been afraid to take dance classes but from my very first dance lesson with Michael and Amy I felt at ease and could concentrate learning. They do a great job teaching by keeping classes lighthearted, entertaining but challenging at the same time. Lastly, their pricing is really reasonable and you get significant discounts when you take repeated classes, which means you will generally see the same people in classes which really helps foster a sense of community. I would highly recommend their classes to other beginners who want to learn WCS.

Michael and Amy teach in a way that even a complete newbie appreciates. I often tell people to take their free one hour class at the Dance club dance because I KNOW by the end they will know enough to want to know more and still get to dance with other students who've taken Michael and Amy's classes. Michael and Amy are incredible instructors! Having no previous dance background, they really made an effort to make me (and everyone) feel comfortable in the studio. They really focus on the fundamentals of West Coast Swing, which I have found out after several months of lessons, is so important to this style of dance. Each class is different, which makes it fun and interesting each week. They keep you engaged and excited to come back each week to learn more. They are also involved in the WCS dance community, so they are always informing the students about local social dance events and opportunities for us to further our learning and have some fun while doing it! I highly recommend taking lessons from Michael and Amy.

My husband and I joined Michael & Amy's WCS classes in Burnaby about 8 years ago. Initially my husband was reluctant, but in a few classes he learned enough WCS moves that he could lead with confidence and we actually enjoyed dancing. Their approach to teaching is perfect - they make it friendly and relaxed, but at the same time their instructions are clear and easy to follow. I can tell that they're seeing every detail of what we do that can be improved, and wisely choose just a couple of things to focus on so that we don't get overwhelmed but still have concrete proof of how much we're improving. They're both very good teachers, and I look forward to my class every week. They've even inspired me to practice at home!
