This is my son's first year at JJ Dance Arts, and we can honestly say that this has been an amazing year. Despite the Covid restrictions Melissa has offered a tremendous program. We are very impressed with her teacher selections, and her commitment to her students. However, her communication is what really delights us. She keeps us fully informed and in the loop with everything that is going on at her studio. She is a blessing in a very challenging industry... a true gem! We are grateful that we switched over to her program.

Melissa and all of the faculty are true professionals who have raised the bar with the training they provide. The studio atmosphere is positive, inclusive, and supportive. The teachers and students treat each other with kindness and respect, always - you can truly feel how deeply Melissa cares about each of her students. The lessons they learn go beyond dance and really help students learn responsibility, professionalism, work ethic, and kindness to yourself and others. A one of a kind studio atmosphere of love , nurturing guidance and teachings . JJ's DanceArts is a single studio which offers pre professional training program in the field of the performing arts and is without a doubt the finest all encompassing dance/performing arts studio in the GTA . Melissa provides all that we and our dancer were searching for beyond the conventional competitive studio scene . Her attentive desire to develope and to bring to the forefront the truest of desires and passions within the dancers that enter her space is absolutely remarkable . Melissa's program involves the mentoring and tutelage of those from all corners of the performing arts/entertainment industry and is such an integral part of our dancers growth . So I say to any parents of dancers who are in search of other avenues to explore... My daughter joined JJ Dance Arts this past year. During that time she has been exposed to so many new experiences and opportunities. Melissa brings in amazing teachers & professionals from the industry, exposing her students to a variety of dance styles, plus film and television training. The curriculum is so different than other dance studios. Melissa is great with the students as well. She is supportive and nurturing, and always provides an open line of communication with students and parents. I highly recommend JJ Dance Arts for anyone looking for a different Dance experience than anything else out there!

JJ Dance Arts is one of the only pre-professional training and performance programs in Ontario. And it is definitely one of a kind! At JJ’s every dancer is important and the focus is on each child and their goals. Limited students and small class sizes allow for individualized attention to learn and grow. With a curriculum style program, dancers are not just focusing on competitive dances or practicing the same routines all year; instead, they are given opportunities to do things they have never done before! In such a positive environment, dancers improve in ability and confidence, while gaining valuable skills for every aspect of their lives!

My son has been dancing at JJ's for over a year now and we couldn't be happier! Melissa runs a studio like no other and we are so grateful to have found her! Her focus on supporting her dancers' growth as opposed to a sole focus on competition has led to incredible improvements and an exciting environment where the students have the opportunity to dance and learn from so many different teachers and other mentors. Even throughout every stage of covid, Melissa has managed to keep things interesting and keep her dancers training and improving. She is creative in her solutions, incorporating things like "pool ballet" into their summer training and has been so amazing at keeping the kids engaged during the online portion of covid. She is organized and her communication is excellent but most importantly my young dancer is happy and is getting the high level training he desires.

My daughter is currently completing her first year at JJ Dance Arts and her progress has been incredible. If you ask my daughter why she loves JJ Dance Arts, she’d tell you that the program is exceptionally unique and she loves the supportive environment. The dancers have the opportunity to train with the best faculty in the business. However, they also round out their skills with pre-professional TV, film, and audition preparation classes. JJ models kindness, professionalism, and respect and she empowers her students to strive for their personal best. JJ meets with dancers three times a year to set goals and focuses their development and celebration of success against personal goals versus awards and trophies. This approach has created a safe and caring studio space that encourages dancers to support each other and take pride in personal goal attainment. As parents, we appreciate JJ’s open door policy and excellent communication. COVID has presented challenges but JJ has pivoted flawlessly and found unique ways to keep her dancers engaged and growing. JJ brought in instructors from across the globe via zoom, had themed instruction weeks and found safe and fun outdoor training forums like ballet in a pool. If you are looking for a challenging, supportive, diverse and unique performance program for your dancer, look no further, JJ Dance Arts is truly second to none. Thank you JJ!

The most amazing place to work and create! The owner is one of the best bosses I have ever worked for, professional, organized, always communicates with her staff and clients. I love have each student has the individually tailored to their needs training plan. Melissa (the owner) will make sure each dancer shines and no one is left "behind".
