I spent the better part of 14 years of my life at Spotlight Dance Centre. To describe my experience there is hard to put into a few words but I will try. Spotlight dance centre built the foundation of who I am today. I went through my childhood and began young adulthood surrounded by teachers who supported me, challenged me and made me feel safe to be myself in dance and in life. The friendships I made while at Spotlight are gold. When you dance in a group you learn how to be a team player, how to work together creatively, how to push eachother and build eachother up. I am proud and lucky to have gone through life with my dance friends and am still very good friends with many of them today. Spotlight Dance Centre is a wonderful dance studio. The teachers are brilliant at what they do and they care, the studio itself is beautiful and welcoming and there is a variety of classes for all styles, ages, and abilities. Enrolling your child into dance class is no small decision. You work hard for your money and you want to ensure you're making the right decision. I thank my parents every day that they gave me the opportunity to dance at Spotlight. Through my training at spotlight I decided to pursue musical theater professionally. I got my undergrad at Grant MacEwan University and then my Masters at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I then stayed in Scotland for another 6 years performing and teaching and creating. Anyways, you don't want to hear any more about me but the point I'm trying to make is that Spotlight Dance Centre is worth it. I look forward to the day when my own children (who don't yet exist) can attend classes there and I can give the same opportunities to them that were given to me :)
