I do not normally write reviews on anything, but this one I just had to. This dance studio is very dirty and extremely crowded!! not to mention very pricey and they ask for deposit for bunch of stuff that's non-refundable? It looks privately owned and they just wanna make money! Lets get to the dance experience my 8 year old had, she complained to me about her teacher from the first week, my daughter told me she just wasn't nice to her so I decided to watch on her next lesson and let me tell you the attitude this "teacher" had! after observing, I go to mention it and bring up my concern to the front desk thinking oh, they'll say we're sorry we will definitely talk with the teacher, but NOOOOO, the attitude that they had was beyond disgusting...the girls at the front desk had are unfriendly and don't care about anything but collecting money, they are just nice at first when you come in and want to sign up and after that it's all down hell!! DON'T PUT YOUR KID IN THIS DANCE SCHOOL, I took my daughter to Caulfield school of dance and she was so happy, they are always nice there and they just really care about giving the kids the best experience.

Encore dance academy is a fraud! Poor customer service, this dance school just loves to collect money and pocket it any way possible!! I signed my daughter up for classes and paid over $150 in uniform deposit while I was pregnant and we had to go away for a month and because she didn’t attend regularly, they emailed me saying they have removed her from the class! Not only that! They wouldn’t allow me to use the deposit for a summer registration that I told them I was going to register her in! This school doesn’t care about their students or try to help you and assist you to continue to attend their school!!! Do nottttttt put your kids in this school or pay anything to this school!

My daughter has been dancing Encore since she was three years old. She has loved every minute of it! From dancing in parades and Disneyland she has had nothing but great experiences. The front desk staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thanks for making my daughters dance experience so wonderful.

Ok, so I registered my 4 year old daughter here as they were close to where I live, place seemed okay clean, not the greatest cleanliness too, seemed busy so I thought it would be a good school. after 2 weeks in my daughter said to me she doesn't want to go dance there, and she loves dancing!! I asked her why, and when she told me her teacher was mean to her because she didn't follow what she was saying, I was so shocked!! and when I went to speak to the front desk about it, they were very rude and did not seem to care about my concern with the teacher or even cared to know why my daughter was upset with her teacher. You would think that they would show compassion, this is a school for little children. I stopped bringing my daughter there and they obviously refused to refund me a bunch of deposit that I had to make. I don't recommend this dance school! find a place that's more genuine with caring teachers.

My two daughters have gone to Encore for 7 years and have had a great experience. They love attending classes and have met so many great dance friends and families. The instructors are the best of the best and it is apparent they love their students. Would definitely recommend!

Registered my 9-year-old daughter to beginner Tap lesson. Sara was the teacher and she had no patience and passion to teach kids. My daughter was bumped to next level class (due to overcrowded beginner class). While my daughter picked up choreography moves fast, there's time that she had difficulty to follow some choreography (well she skipped a level). Instead of teaching her the move, she made my daughter to go to the corner to figure out the moves herself. And she got mad at my daughter and made her cry. If you want my daughter to figure out the moves herself, she could have used youtube instead of paying lesson fee! Also, when the lesson fell on Halloween day, she made the kids playing charades instead of teaching them how to dance. I worked long hours and had to commute to work. I still had to drive my daughter to the studio to watch her playing charade????. Also, there's $40 "deposit" that they will confiscate if your child miss the competition and/or the recital. Fair enough as this is to enforce commitment. The money will not be automatically returned to you. You will have to ask for it (I had to do it twice). Moved my daughter to different studio. Her tap teachers now are good...night and day.

I registered my daughter to Encore Dance Academy few months ago and I was unhappy with the service, poor quality and rude. the lady i dealt with named Deborah, she was unprofessional. I had to go on a sudden trip for family loss, she was raised her voice at me front of my daughter when I asked her if I can postpone my daughter's dance classes to later because I didn't want to lose the dance classes and my registration. I tried to ask for the payment and deposit I made she refused to refund me anything and when I asked to use it and leave it as credit just for next registration starts and she wouldn't even let me. They care so much about money and not at all about dancing experience, etc. I was so shocked. I don't recommend this school to anyone ! all they care about is the money. Not to mention the place was not clean!!

Horrible dance studio! I was sceptical about putting my daughter here for dance lessons, as there weren’t many reviews. The prices are tremendously high but I went and registered my daughter anyway she was very excited to start. The classes are suppose to be 45 mins long but always finished a little earlier, I watched the dance teacher how she interacted with the little girls and she was not the nicest teacher, she barely smiled and always felt like she was on edge. I tried to tell this to the front desk customer service and they were even so rude about it!! The list goes on with this place!, they always email me and post things about asking for money for this and that. I definitely have had a bad service with the staff here they are not helpful and don’t seem to care at all about the little kids and in making sure they get the best dance experience. I won’t be re-registering my daughter here again. Definitely don’t recommend this dance studio.

My daughter has been dancing at Encore Dance Academy for 10 years. The teachers are excellent and the training provided has allowed my daughter to improve year after year. Not only does the studio provide excellent training but also fosters a good work ethic, great cooperation skills and encourages leadership of younger students all in a very fun and caring environment. Also, when I have questions or concerns regarding scheduling or invoices, the office staff is more than happy to help. Great studio!

My son danced in the recreational program at Encore. He took hiphop classes and jazz classes. We were just recreational program people and the ladies at the front desk were excellent in communicating the requirements of the program and what was expected. We simply had to communicate to them when we would be away and show up to the rest of the classes. The costs were excellent and the whole experience was easy. Anyone boys or girls who just want to try dancing should give this studio a try. Boys are accepted with open arms and no judgement and my son is looking forward to another year with them.

I decided to change dance academies from one of the ones in Port Moody to Encore since it was closer to home. What a mistake it was, not only were the fees higher which I didn’t care but the class room and environment is not accommediating. Most days there were only 3 to 4 kids in class and a whiney instructor. Cut your looses and move on as there are some great dance schools to choose from in Port Moody.

Encore is an awesome dance studio! I've been going there for almost 10 years now and I've made so many amazing friends! Encore is not only an amazing dance studio, it's my second home and the students and staff are my second family. The staff members are all nice and are really passionate about teaching. The teachers always make dancing fun!

I am impressed with the time and dedication that the teachers put into making each dance memorable every year. The office staff is always very supportive to the dancers as well as to the parents.

My 11 year old recently joined Encore last September. The changes in her went beyond dance. She was accepted immediately within her group and loved every minute of her classes last year.We are so excited to be doing another year at Encore and i highly recommend it to all.
