Both of our girls attended DSI from preschool to grade 12, and it became their second family. Very supportive environment, genuine teachers and high caliber classes. Could not have asked for a better place to help raise confident, poised and articulate daughters.

Even 1 star is not worth it. It is such a horrible memory to my 3 year old child. Suddenly, they just called me that my 3 year-old child was not ready to attend the class. I didn't get any warning or feedback. If I knew my child was interrupting class, I could try to fix it at home. They suddenly called to me and kicked her out. My 3 year old kid just loves dancing but does not know what is wrong, what is right. They even called me after taking the new tuition fee from my credit card. When I asked for a refund of new tuition fee, registration and deposit, they suddenly changed mind that my child could take the classes under her mother's supervision. It is questionable how the policy of no parents staying in the studio due to COVID-19 could change so suddenly. Because of this policy, I had no idea how my child was doing, and of course no feedback on entire classes for a month was heard before being kicked out. I was refused a refund, by the way. If someone who has the same issue, don't even try it. To the studio director, if exploiting deposit and registration on children is one of your business area, I am so sorry about asking a refund. Just take it.

Our daughters have danced at Dance Spectrum for several years and we have had a very positive experience the entire time. We have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The dance teachers have been supportive and encouraging, and our daughters really enjoy being at the dance studio. Throughout the stops and starts during COVID 19, Dance Spectrum did a great job keeping online dance sessions fun and engaging, despite having some stretches when they had to be closed and the dancers were dancing from home.

My daughters danced at DSI from the ages of 3 and 5 until they graduated from high school. The studio was like a second home to them. They made lasting friendships and the confidence they built from performing on stage remains with them in their young adult lives. Miss Wendy and the DSI teachers were always the most inspiring role models to their students. I highly recommend the studio.

Dance Spectrum provided amazing training for our daughter who danced there for over 10 years before being accepted at the prestigious Juilliard School in NYC. She is a professional dancer/actress (credits include Cirque du Soleil and “Baby” in North American tour of Dirty Dancing) and the positive energy and family atmosphere she experienced at Dance Spectrum is where she got hooked on performing. We are lucky to have such great training available in Calgary!

We are very disappointed by the studio. I am surprised to see so many good reviews, maybe things got changed dramatically for this season, I do not know. The disappointment is everywhere. To start with, studio's policy changed as the classes start. Customer service that does not address issues, but suggest to adjust to them or just leave the class/studio (without a refund of any registration or tuition fees). The costume fee that was taking off my credit card, just in case, in the middle of lockdown, when no hope for any reopening was in the horizon. Teacher, at least on my daughter's class, that do not dance, but shows the feet movement by hands and explains the routine with words. I am not sure what kids learn there. I can't wait for a season to be over to move to a different studio, any studio will be better than this one.

My daughter danced at DSI from age 5 through to high school graduation. It was her second home and family. The teachers are caring and very good at bringing out the best in each dancer. DSI remains an important part of her life and we are very grateful that she had the opportunity to dance and learn there.

I danced at DSI from elementary until high school, and it was always my favourite place to go. My daughter dances there now and she loves it just as much as I did. The teachers are amazing, professional, and also incredibly patient and understanding. They did an amazing job through the pandemic and put a LOT of our fears at ease. They have always done, and continue to do everything to keep the dancers safe and comfortable. We love being part of the DSI family :)!

I have 2 daughters who danced at DSI. My oldest started dancing with DSI over 22 years ago when we moved to the area and my youngest started with DSI at age 3 and continued right through high school. They both had wonderful experiences. The teachers are dedicated and some have been with Miss Wendy since the very beginning. The experience of taking exams, participating in competitions and performing in recitals was so good for their personal growth but making lifelong friends was priceless.
