I called Sophie's Gown Shoppe this morning (Jan 11, 2020) in a panic because I previously ordered a dress from somewhere else and the order got cancelled a few days ago. My wedding is February 20, 2020 so needless to say I was FREAKING out! Alaina got me an appointment right away and helped me find a dress in no lie, probably less than 20 minutes! She was the most helpful salesperson I have ever dealt with and I will 100% recommend this store to any of my newly engaged friends. Alaina, if you're reading this... THANK YOU!!! You made a terrible experience 10000000 times better. You helped me find the dress of my dreams and diffuse a really stressful situation and I cannot thank you enough. :)

Please for the love of god do not shop here! They have the worst customer service ever! They give you a sales pitch on how they have a large selection of gowns when they barely have a selection of plus size dresses for plus size people. They never get new ones in and keep promising you the world and never deliver! The sales associates are rude! They do not care about anyone! They have a payment plan which sucks! If you put money down on a dress and decide to change your mind about the dress they will keep it even if your not finished paying for it. They are thieves! I am so shocked that they are still in business! If I could give the a Zero for a review I would! Buyer beware!

After going to a previous gown shop looking for prom dresses with my two friends I was a little discouraged until we went to Sophie’s, they have the most kind and attentive staff along with a beautiful selection in dresses!! Morgan kept finding us different dresses out of nowhere and encouraging us to try them on.. she was spot on every time!! What an amazing saleswoman!! Would highly reccomend this boutique????????

I'm standing in a wedding in August so in early January the bridal party went to Sophie's and found the PERFECT bridesmaids dress! We were told not to order them until after the wedding show (presumably so we could get a special promotion). When we went back in to get fitted for the dresses we were told that the dress we wanted had been discontinued and they only had the ability to order them until Saturday at 2pm - we were pretty surprised since they hadn't called us but since it was only 11:30 on Saturday we hoped it would still worked. The manager made a phone call right in front of us on the speakerphone, and it went to voicemail. The staff and manager were very confrontational, making it out to be our fault for not putting a deposit down or coming in sooner. They had the dress we wanted written down on our card, but they freely admitted they didn't go through the cards when they found out the dress was being discontinued. They didn't seem at all concerned that the dress we wanted wasn't available, and only made a halfhearted attempt to sell us a different dress (we weren't interested). The worst part is that one of the girls had called earlier in the week to see if she needed an appointment to come in and had even had the sales clerk pull our card to make sure all the information was there (the clerk "couldn't find" the card). Had they told us then we could have come in earlier, but instead they lost the sale of four dresses. We will NEVER shop there and will not be recommending Sophie's in the future.

Staff here are very helpful. Had a young woman help me find my wedding dress and she was amazing! Put in all sorts of dresses to show me what I liked and was very easy going and friendly. Definitely one of the best gown shops there are.

Went for a Prom dress. Limited selection which I get cause it is a bridal shop but I couldn't get over the smell when you walked in . Stinky feet smell. Not good Maybe light a Candle ??

If i could give it less then one star, believe me I would. They made the process for the bridesmaids the most complicated thing ever. They gave me *the bride* different information all the time, nothing was ever cohesive. Terrible customer service, the dress that was ordered, I was originally told I could not get in the full eggplant color I wanted, and it only came in the eggplant with nude underlay...only to find out after 2 orders had already been placed, when my maid of honor was in there, they asked which one the bride wanted to order. Thankfully.. I do like the ones we received. If you like lack of correct information, receiving attitude from the sales associates, not feeling important..then this is the spot for you. Needless to say, myself nor any of my bridal party will be returning to purchase any dresses from this shop in the future.

10+ stars!! AMAZING experience with Sophie’s Gown Shoppe! We unexpectedly had to change our wedding date after ordering my dream dress from Sophie’s. We thought the dress wouldn’t come in time, but it arrived on my wedding day, 6 hours before the ceremony. In that time, totally unscheduled, Sophie’s staff invited me in, helped me with a fitting and alterations, and even steamed the gown for me! I was speechless, so surprised, and very thankful. The staff celebrated with me — it was an unforgettable experience and I got to wear my dream dress after all! I can’t recommend Sophie’s highly enough!

It really pains me to leave a 2 star review because I thought my dress purchasing experience was wonderful. First I would like to say, that I did read reviews before coming here about body shaming and the employees making women feel uncomfortable about their bodies. And I apologize to all of those women who have felt this way. At first, the store was great with me. They accommodated me in a way that no other store was willing to during a "lockdown". I picked out the most perfect dress. A few months after ordering my dress, I went with one of my bridesmaids who is a little uncomfortable trying on dresses just the two of us so she could see what styles she likes. We picked out a few styles and I asked if they could please find those styles more in my girls size. The lady helping us said "no, these should be fine. They don't need to fit perfectly" My girl goes into the dressing room, and she can't even get the dresses onto her body. These dresses were size 6-8, she was a size 22. HOW DEGRADING TO TRY AND PUT A SIZE 22 DRESS WOMAN INTO A SIZE 8 DRESS. Even I purchased a size 12 dress and I probably wouldn't of been able to get a size 8 over my hips. I asked again if she could please find a size that would be more suitable for my bridesmaid and she told me that she doesn't carry any bigger sizes and it's not her fault, it's the manufacturers fault. (Way to try and put blame on someone else) we ended up storming out of the store that day, I was so angry. It would of been nice to recieve a phone call apology, or maybe a way to try and fix this issue.. but nothing. We ended up going out of town to purchase 8 dresses and had a wonderful experience. If I hadn't already ordered my dress I wouldn't of given these people a cent of my money.

If I could give less than a star I would. Absolutely horrible experience. I am newly engaged and wanted to just look around with my niece cause she was so excited. When we walked in we were greeted by a total b**ch!!! Asked if we had an appointment to which I replied “no my niece and I just wanted to look around” to which she replied “are you even engaged?” How rude. Then proceeded to tell me she didn’t have time for me. Definitely not ever going back there again and definitely NOT buying my wedding dress there. Would NOT recommend.

Very happy with Sophie's Bridal. They were very helpful and Brandi was amazing. She went and look for all styles of dresses for me to try on. She was very positive, cheerful and help me a lot. I was only going in to see what style look best on me but then ended with saying yes to the dress. Morgan the manager is so sweet and amazing. Explain everything to me in full details, they were both very understanding and patience when i told them i wanted to wait for my mom to get in before i started. Also i found my bridemaids dress on the same day which was not expected at all. So very happy how they treated me and my family. Highly Recommended. ❤

Do NOT come here unless you want money-sucking manipulation. The younger staff were friendly and helpful, and we agreed on the 12 week arrival date being enough time for the bridesmaid dresses. But after lying to me on the phone for the reason of the call, confirming my size and the arrival date, the same woman called my friend (the bride) and convinced her that she needed to pay $30 extra per dress so that they would arrive in time. I will never give them my business again

I wasnt going to go to Sophies after reading the reviews. Been to a few bridal places shopping for my wedding gown and was really discouraged being a plus size bride some of the places I visited I was made to feel unwelcomed. As a last resort I went to Sophies and it was refreshing! the lady Kerri who helped me was kind and extremely helpful she went thru the entire process and all my options with me and made me feel very comfortable. I'm Soooo sooo sooo happy I over looked the reviews and went there. Kerri made the experience much more pleasant than what I experienced elsewhere. I highly recommend shophies. If I could rate this less than one star I would. A friend of mine picked out a wedding dress after searching for one for a very long time. The money was put down on it. Almost three months later she got a call that this dress was discontinued. This is absolute BS!!!!!! Now they're refusing to give her any money back as if not being able to get your dream dress wasn't enough. The service is absolutely terrible and I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to Sophie's. EVER.

Was very disappointed in the service here! There are 6 bridesmaids and every dress came in at least 2 sizes too big.. The lady recommended us all doing that and was it ever a mistake! Had to spend lots of money tailoring the dresses. The experience shopping should of been wonderful and it was terrible... Very unfriendly and rude staff. Will never be back.

Very unhappy with the service, out of 6 bridesmaids dresses 4 of them were ordered way too large, 3 of those bridesmaids were from out of town and relied on other seamstresses to alter their dresses. One girl tried 3 different people before they could do the alterations. I for one will never patronize this facility again.

I had to go to Sophies to buy a 2nd wedding dress yesterday because a couple weeks ago I found out that I was pregnant, and I was unable to use my original wedding dress on my day. As soon as I walked into the store and told my dilemma, Morgan took me right under her wing and helped me find the perfect wedding dress that would not only work with my growing belly BUT also made me feel like a princess!! She is so funny, down to earth, and very easy to get along with. She even gave me ideas on how to sell my original wedding dress so that I could break even! I had an appointment to look for a wedding gown at Sophie's in London. We arrived and met our assistant associate Voula. From the moment I walked in the store, Voula made myself, my mom and my aunt feel so welcome. I felt throughout the appointment that I had someone who had known me my entire life assisting me in finding a dress. Not only was she respectful of my budget, she could also tell which dresses I felt most comfortable with. Thank you Voula for helping me find the dress of my dreams. I had the WORST experience with Sophies. I would never advise a bride to go there, unless the manager Barb is gone. The staff were friendly especially Helen and Courtney but when you need to deal with the manager with things you were promised it's a terrible experience. Won't go into tremendous detail because I could write an essay but she is nice until she gets your deposit. All downhill from there. They price matched a deal I was given at another dress shoppe(should have gotten it there). I could tell from the start she didn't want to but eventually agreed. My veil and alterations were negotiated in with the price. It was Hel* getting a veil. She didn't even point me in a direction but to go on the website. There was nothing, they all said see our samples in store. The one I wanted......couldn't get, go figure. When it came to alterations, the lady was very nice but I believe she was told from Barb to stop at a certain point(after 1 time altering). It looked like I had no butt. All I wanted was for it to be pinched in a bit. They said they couldn't do. Bull. I took it to Lady Di's(great place) and she took it in no problem. All that money and I left the store unhappy, and she couldn't give a damn. I'm really not a hard person to please. it was my wedding so of course I wanted great service especially when you're spending that kind of money. This woman has NO customer service skills and I hear the owner isn't much better. You could tell even the staff didn't want to work for her. It's too bad, Sophie's used to be such a well known place.

Loved every second of my experience here. I didnt end up getting my wedding dress here because I fell in love with one at a small boutique but we loved the ladies and atmosphere so much we came back so all my bridesmaids could pick and purchase their dresses at Sophies. The ladies were kind and helpful, finding dresses from the same line so all my bridesmaids could pick something in their taste but that would have the exact same shade of burgundy when ordered. They also have a great payment plan option. I have a 2 year old and when we came back so my wedding party could put their deposits down the workers didnt even bat an eyelash at my hyper, crazy toddler!

We went into the Windsor location today looking for a graduation dress for my daughter and were greeted by not a very friendly employee. She asked us when graduation was and we told her the end of June, she then told us that we were too late to order anything and we would have to select off of the racks. Like seriously, everywhere has said we have more than enough time to order for the end of June. They didn't need to lie to us if they didn't want to help us. Would not recommend.

I went to Sophie's to find a bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding. I knew my own engagement was only days away and I was feeling very overwhelmed about finding a wedding dress. My boyfriend and I planned to have a short engagement. I knew I had less than five months until our wedding and I was worried that I would not be able to find one in time. I asked Zana about long sleeve dresses and was surprised when she mentioned that I might not like that style. I insisted that I would, and so, she quickly found one for me to try on. At first I was embarrassed to try on a dress before being engaged, but motivated by the need to prove her wrong, I did it anyway. She was right, my "dream dress" was nothing like I imagined. I left the change room feeling very disappointed and stressed when Zana brought out another gown and encouraged me to try it on. At first I was resistant because it was nothing like the style that I hoped for. When she zipped it up for me, I knew right away it was the one. It fit perfectly and all the girls gasped when I came out of the change room. If that wasn't enough, the dress was 50% off. I am so thankful to have met Zana, who knew exactly what would work for me. She was incredibly professional, helpful and honest!! I would not have found the perfect dress without her. Not only did I find a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding, I walked out of Sophie's with THE dress that day. Three days later I got engaged, and tomorrow, I'll be bringing my own set of bridesmaids to Sophie's. Thank you for the excellent service and all the effort put in to make my day special!

RUN FOREST, RUN!!! The dresses are gorgeous but they personally have nothin to do with the designs. The service is horrible. They gave me the run around for months reguarding one of the bridesmaids dress' that was ordered. One dress came in 3 months prior to the wedding. Awesome! Thank you!! On the other hand the 2nd dress may not have came in at all. It was 2 weeks prior to the wedding when I had to demand a full refund because they couldn't say for 100% if it wouldn't be in the following week (one week prioiyto the wedding) I was guaranteed 3 times that the dress would be I'm " next Thursday" after being told 2 other Dates previously. One being "the first week of July, the other date being July 12th. After an hour long argument in the store with the manager and the owners Daughter they agreed to the refund but then they tried to sell me a nasty sample dress with the words "SAMPLE" embroidered at the bottom. When I pointed that out, they offered to remover the embroidery. I then kindly pointed out 4 VERY large pulls in the dress. They then offer to fix the pulls. I then pointed out all of the markings on the dress and foundation stain on the neckline of the dress, they counterofferd a DISCOUNT on the dress based on the condition. It was insulting!! I denied the offer of the discounted pit stained SAMPLY dress and they finally processed the return. I had less than two weeks to find a new dress for my brides maid!!! This place is so flipping rediculious it's unbelievable.

I would encourage everyone to very carefully read the contract before you sign. I purchased a dress from here, long story short the wedding was canceled. The dress had not been ordered as the wedding was a year away. Sophie's would not refund any money. I have to pay the dress off and sell it myself.

Don't bother if you're plus sized. The dresses all look years old and nothing like you see anywhere else for the season. Kerri was very nice, but Barb the manager goes out of her way to make the experience unpleasant if you don't have her ideal body. This happened to me a year ago, and I doubt anything has changed!

I honestly have nothing negative to say about Sophie's bridal. I had a detailed and welcoming experience with this bridal shop. I have been to basically every single bridal shop in Windsor Essex County and I can confidently say that Sophie's new location Is bright, inviting, modern and sophisticated. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable in regards to the "bridal world". The selection of wedding dresses is slightly overwhelming in one hand but in the other; they have something for EVERYONE AND EVERY BODY TYPE. Which, being plus size is hard to find. I purchased my second wedding dress with Sophie's as I was not satisfied with my first dress. I am now just in the process of waiting for my dress and veil to come in. This was a very easy process. The women at the shop will take care of you and your wedding party! The selection is amazing!

I would rate this less than one star if I could! My mother and I walked in this shop to look at dresses and belts. The employee walked up and asked what we were looking for (in an unkind tone). I told her we were looking for belts and dresses. She said, "ohh, well the belts are pretty expensive....the start at $200. I don't know what your really looking to spend..." uhmm, excuse me...I make great money! But your store will never get any of it! No class, rude and disrespectful.

I'm the moh in my best friends wedding in two weeks. Because I was in Toronto for a long time doing medical things I was late to get a dress. We walked in looking for something quick not expecting to find anything. The sales lady had an appointment and was able to manage helping the both of us efficently. I walked out with a dress off the rack. They gave us great service I would go there again. *note I got married in 2011 and really didn't like how they dealt with customers back then. The staff has changed and it was a delightful experience.

I first attended Sophie's bridal shop back in March 2017, on my first day trying on wedding gowns ever! Sophie's bridal shop was the first store that I went to that day, and I quickly realized that this store had exactly what I was looking for, and I wished that I did not have 2 other appointments booked that day. I continued on with my search that day and ended up back at Sophie's a few months later to order my dress! The staff at Sophie's were so nice and accommodating and truly cared that I found the perfect wedding dress, that will make me feel amazing on my big day! I never once felt pressured to make a decision, which I cannot say for many other bridal stores in Windsor. Overall, I would highly recommend going to Sophie's bridal shop, you will not be disappointed! And make sure to give yourself lots of time, you could spend hours trying on all their beautiful gowns!

The girl who helped me was super awesome and super sweet. She gave me space when I needed it and helped when I needed it and somehow just knew when both instances were required. Even when I made a mistake with a dress price wise, the manager was super helpful and willing to work with me. I will say very hard to find anything less than $1500 though. But...maybe I'm just not familiar with wedding dress prices:P either way, 3.6 is unnecessarily low.

I had a horrible experience at a local bridal shop in LaSalle and ended up hating my wedding dress. I was able to find a new morning wedding dress and 2nd night time wedding dress at Sophie's. Morgan has a heart of gold. She made my experience truly memorable. The seamstress is amazing and tailored my dresses perfectly. She even was able to have my last minute purchase of my morning Maggie Sottero wedding dress done by my wedding day which was in 4 days. Love all the ladies that work there. Thank you all for helping me find my wedding dresses. I can't tell you how happy I was on my wedding day wearing them. I felt like a princess. Thank you for being apart of my special day.

Awful service. Worst company to deal with my planning. Don't make an appointment because you will get better service if you just walk in. When I made an appointment the lady left me to take care of three walk ins and when I needed to find her she was no where to be found. I ended up still ordering 7 dresses from them. When they came in they called me, I missed the call and called back and they were very rude in the phone and cut me off while talking. I had two out of the 7 bridesmaids try them and they were too big on them probably a way to make more money for alterations. I wouldn't be surprised if all the dresses were measure incorrectly. I would never recommend this place to anyone ....

I was looking for a flower girl dress. The woman was so stuck up and rude, showed me a dress that was missing items. Told me I could not order a dress that I might of been interested in IF the service wasnt so terrible. She also critized and talked rudely about other bridal shops in the area. Vary unprofessional. I would highly recommend Sophie's to any woman seeking to outfit themselves for a weeding or special occasion. I am the proud mother of a bride to be and purchased my dress at the Sophie's in Windsor. I received a call that my dress I ordered was in. I didn't call to make an appointment but showed up to try on my dress anyways. The young lady helping me was very friendly and professional. She explained that Saturday was a busy day and fittings must be made by appointments. Knowing I was from out of town she asked me to wait a moment while she spoke with her manager. A few moments later the manager walked over and said they could squeeze me in for a quick fitting since there was a late appointment and she had heard I was not from Windsor. Everybody was so accommodating and helpful that day. I couldn't be happier with how the service that I was provided that day. I am a very happy customer and will be referring Sophie's to anyone I know that is getting married or attending a wedding!

The service that I received from the Windsor location has been great! The staff are always smiling and welcoming. The atmosphere is so supportive! The staff really know how to make you feel beautiful and don't hesitate to make sure that you're completely happy. I've had to bring my toddler daughter in with me to appointments, which can make things a bit difficult but they made sure the appointment ran smoothly and even played with her so keep her happy when I was busy. I'd definitely recommend shopping here for your big day!

I honestly don't even know where to start. Sophies made the wedding dress portion of our wedding planning soo enjoyable. I'll never forget how special they all made me feel. I showed Zana a few photos of dresses that I liked, and she pulled a dress that had EVERYTHING I wanted. Then there was Morgan.
