Love this location over all the other OUAC locations... Thanks for always having friendly service!! Plus I usually find lots of nice affordable clothes for my growing kids ????
Well laid out, bright, and well organized. Not packed to the brim like other locations.
Seems like they have used stuff. You can actually tell that the toys were used prior by looking at the tires of some toys. So I am not sure the clothes are used or not... But toys are used for sure. So double check before buying.
Great Selection. Friendly staff
April 5th 2019. came in to buy a Barbie doll house and when I went to pay, my rewards program said I was eligible for a 10$ discount on a 40$ purchase. I just saw it and the lady still had my cash in her hands and I said oh I want to do this and she said sorry it's too late store policy. I said is there no way for me to just go add 10$ worth of purchases to my order and they said they "didn't want to do it without the manager". I said you should have told me about this before hand and they said it's policy. I am just upset because the one time I come into this place I have a baby and a toddler and I could use some more discounts. I won't be back for a while. They were truly unfair and didn't even try to help me out
Had what I needed for my child.
Good service. Fair products. Good selection. Clean and organized.
Great consignment store!
You can buy new clothes at the same price that they charge for used clothes
Used to be our to go place for clothes when kids were small. Limited choices for school-age children. They don't buy back some toy, clothes, and extras because they don't recognize the brand. But those were bought from them before actually.
The best place to find gently used clothing for your kids. The place is organized by sizes and they always have amazing deals! Highly recommend
i found a lot of cute clothes for my kids here
Love it! I've been trying to get here for awhile, the selection and pricing is on point, I will definitely be going back!
Great selection, nice staff.
Very happy to have this store in our neighbourhood! It's the perfect solution for clearing out old kids clothing and items while being able to snag a few deals on the next size up. We always leave happy. :)
Great selection of second hand kids items. Good quality and prices.
Very well organized and everything is easy to find. Great clearance prices and deals on some good clothing. Not a great selection of used strollers but I feel most people sell that kind of stuff on their own. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Prices and selection is getting worse I've gone a hand full of times in the last 6 months and there has been next to nothing that was recently added to the shelves I have also have 2 employees be extremely rude to both myself and my two children on numerous occasions.. unfortunate as I used to love this place .. Sorry guys you need a big improvement
Why buy brand new??? This place has awesome deals on perfectly good children’s clothes and toys. Love this place.
I love that they buy items from out-of-season. Great place.
Good for buying used clothes, don't try to sell anything though the younger lady that works there is super rude. They say u get 40% cash back for the items u sell but it's more like 10% or less then that. I was taken aback when she told me what I was going to get back and then she was really rude I won't ever be returning to this location. They do not value there customers. The other thing is they always tell me they want brand new clothes with tags on it but u look through there shelves and its 90% very used clothes with lint and fading and they even smell unclean. I don't recommend I would rather go to value village.
I was late to pick up my stuff. Omg they donated what i left there.(Friday evening dropping & I went to pick up Monday afternoon) Which charity?? In 72 hours? Helpless gesture and no attitude to help from the store manager. Be careful You better donate your stuff whereever you want to support, if you are a busy mom.
If you plan on taking clothes in, be sure to call first and find what sizes they are rejecting. I was surprised when the bulk of the items I brought in (I only brought in very clean EUC), which were all Old Navy, Carters, Gap, were rejected because they were not accepting those sizes. Also items they seem to deem overly worn, which in this case only meant laundered. Even pants that my son wore once for a wedding in perfect condition they didn't take, as well as really excellent hoodies and winter coats (took them in in November) that I would have been delighted to find second hand. Don't listen to the website that makes it sound like they accept all kind of things, it was a total waste of my time and gas money, I won't go back. Clothes are reasonably priced though so for shopping it's alright, but they had almost nothing in the way of what I was looking for (3t). Also thought the condition of garments was on par or not as good as what I brought in. You're better off to trade on a swap site.
I read these reviews before going in and was a little scared but went anyways, the gentlemen who helped me was a complete pleasure, very nice and helpful! I sold 14 items and got 20 dollars so that's why they didn't get the 5th star but I expected to not get much as I didn't want to take the time to sell everything separately online! Overall, unless you're expecting even half of what you paid it's worth it to get a few bucks back for some of your items!
I went by to drop off literally two boxes of clothes that were in good condition and was asked to come back 2 hours later. I went by and was told three excuses. First excuse, the clothes weren't freshly laundered, second they aren't taking any cloths under 12 months (box said 12 months) and the third I didn't bring brand name items....she was looking for any reason to reject my items. If she knew that they weren't taking clothes under 12 months why didn't she tell me the minute I dropped the boxes off as the age was written on the box? Waste of my time! The clothes were clean, laundered plus I never found any mention on their website about brand names nor does it state that they are periodically rejecting based on age. Ironically, the majority of clothes in the boxes were purchased from that same location. Also not all their clothes for sale are name brand or in mint condition for that matter, such BS!! They are false advertising to customers which is illegal. This is the worst managed place, bad service, no communication to customers and poorly ran. Manager is racist as she didn't want to buy from a person of colour as she made all the excuses to avoid taking any of my items! I just donated the clothes to charity - don't care about the money but was shocked at her racism and lack of empathy to customers of colour, making me drive back and forth only to reject me 2 hours later- purposely wasted my time. I told my wife never to shop here again! Don't bother with this location if you're looking to be treated with respect.
I love the layout of this shop, I’m there at least once a month (I have 4 kids of varying ages). I find the prices extremely reasonable. It’s not as easy to find age 5-9 and that’s due to the wear of the clothes by kids that age I’m sure. But lots of baby and toddler and lots for older kids 10-16. Could the ladies be friendlier? YES. But the gentleman sure has customer service down (I assume he’s the owner or manager). They are a franchise so they follow their franchise guidelines but I think they should consider taking sweatpants/jeans with stains, maybe have a section for “kicking around” clothing. I need sweats for sports and don’t care about a stain here and there. I also consign here, my last experience left me with a bad taste. They called and said come get your stuff before closing or it will be donated tomorrow. Wow, like give me a chance to no-show before leaving a somewhat arrogant message. I get others might have not shown up on time but I had no intent on not keeping my word. Overall though, I still highly recommend this store.
This place buys baby clothes toys and extras from people for cheap and sells them for almost the price of a brand new
Do not take your clothes here for consignment/resale with the intent of making anything decent back. I caught the staff lying to me by saying she was only going to give me $0.90 - $1.30/ boys clothing item (which were brand name, such as Zara, A&F, and excellent quality dress shirts in near perfect condition) because they were not brand names. Then when her associate came by and I asked her if she was familiar with Zara and A&F she said "oh yeah". Suddenly, my articles were $3 each...still a joke, but the math didn't add up at all. They will outright lie to you and give you pennies to resell your clothes at ridiculous resale rates! They are in the business of ripping people off!
Overpriced, low selection, need more donations.
Staff are so helpful! I have been looking for a double stroller that would be comparable with our car seat for ages and they took the time to research which stroller would work for us and even called another staff member on her day off to double check. Stroller worked out great and was a good value. Lovely store with lovely staff :)
The staff is amazing. Tiffany goes above and beyond for customers. Would recommend this place for everyone!!!
This store has used and pre-owned items.
Pleasant staff. Great selection with good prices
So I took some things to once upon a child in south Surrey and they gave me a ridiculous offer for what I was selling ($20 for several EUC and brand new items) I took back my things when I showed up and then tonight when I went to sell a toy to someone I discovered the batteries had been removed so I had to put 4 new ones in to show the women it was working. I went to look at all the toys I had taken to once upon a child and they took all the batteries out of every toy...... so pissed.....I will never shop there again and I will let me fellow moms about this so it doesn’t happen to them Once Upon A Child - Surrey, BC
Local family run business. Always cheerful staff. Love stopping in here. 1st place I go when looking for clothes for my kids.
good place to shop for child , many colour many option
great store
Staff wasn’t friendly, they pay you almost nothing for stuff.
Oh this store... the last few times I brought clothes in I had been horribly disappointed. I tried again today because there are new owners, however nothing much has changed. Saying things like, it's not what we are looking for, however the racks in the larger sizes seem to be pretty bare. I never try and sell the "well loved" clothes or something I knowly can see has a stain. Today they rejected a brand new Zara coat because they said it was matted with black animal hair... ummmmmm, that is the nature of the wool, it was a black and grey mix!!! They also rejected brand new winter leggings that had never been worn.. Don't bother bringing in Gymboree or an "off brand." I don't know. It is way better to just sell on a swap site. You'll get more money, not have to deal with crappy judgemental attitudes and have people pickup from you - not have to drive to a store. Come on since Upon A Child... you can do waaay better.
I dropped off items at 3PM and meant to come by by 6PM (their deadline) but couldn't. At 9:01 the next morning I had a voicemail telling me my items would be given to charity if I didn't get them that day. Another time, a staff explained to me "most" of my clothes were "a little too loved". They had taken half the items I brought so the comment was a little weird! Nobody smiles, nobody says hi. Not a fun place to go to. It's still an inexpensive place to shop for toddler clothes but service-wise you get what you pay for.
They only offer store credit for buys so that's kinda lame. Great prices on toys tho
I was very impressed with the pricing of their baby clothing. Everything we purchased was in amazing condition for used items. I can't say that the staff was friendly or helpful but, honestly, I went in for clothes, had no problem finding the sizes I needed as they were all organized so well that I didn't need anyone to help me. If i was paying $30 for a baby outfit I would probably have expected someone to help but seeing as I was paying roughly $3 an outfit it was a good trade off. Plus i hate pushy sales staff following me around the store. I will definitely be coming back soon as you can't beat the price, quality and selection!
Best store for gently used clothing , toys, and books for kids. This where my family shops for our kids
Was my first time in the store last night and I was highly impressed with not only kindness but the selection for all ages! There was maybe 20 mins before the store was to close and the gentleman at the counter assured us there's no rush before closing and if we stayed it would make their last minutes go by faster for them which most stores would make you feel to rush out. The guy was also very knowledgeable not just on baby gear but pointers for babies growth as he was a dad. I loved the entire experience and would love to go every day ????
Great selection of gently used items for kids. The store is organized well and there is an area with toys for the older kiddos to play in so they don't bother you while shopping ???? staff is friendly and helpful.
Great prices.
Excellent!
Great prices, good selection for gently used baby and kids clothes!
Great store. We return again and again
Great store for kids clothes and toys. They even have baby and mommy items. I love shopping the sales. It's the best place for gently used toys and shoes. Most of the staff are super friendly and helpful. They even put my name down for potential items that I wanted.
Only location that doesn’t honor company-wide store credit. Very disappointed to find this out after driving an hour round trip with an unhappy newborn. Staff was really nice and apologetic but this policy is incredibly unprofessional.
Always impressed with the selection and price of items, it is getting hard to shop there for my older daughter who is in size 5 and 6 (but thats probably because clothes get worn out more in that size and i can't really blame the store for that). I have never sold to them as i have not heard good things about the prices they give - though if they paid people more, they would have to charge me more for the items.
Very helpful staff helped us find exactly what we needed for a 9 year old girl to transform into an equestrian rider for Halloween... lovely store, we'll organized and clean...
Staff were rude, condescending. Consignment prices ridiculous.
I've been coming to this location for a year now and am nearly always able to find what I need. The staff is lovely and the pricing is fair.
Very limited selection!
Great prices and selection - we'll definitely be going back!
Good place to buy kids clothing, footwear & used games
This store is ridiculous. I brought in items that had never been used and one that I had washed and there was one tiny stain on it and she said they wouldn't take it in on trade unless it had no stains at all. I don't know about you but baby's leave stains and puke and something you can't get them out but this store is supposed to take trade ins but only apparently if they are like in a box and have been bubble wrappedal and don't have one spec on them. What a horrible place. Don't ever ever go here the service was not great either to top it all off. Most rediculas store ever.
Just to go there a lot, then moved to Europe... Every time I visit BC I stop thete and buy stuff!! Love it!!
Friendly staff, and clean store. The shop is well organized.
Well priced kids clothing. Good selection, they advertise having up to size 18 now.
Shopped their Clarence sale, 20 items for $20.00. Awesome!
Don't even try to sell your clothes here. They won't even look at them, such a waste of time. I don't know if the male owner was having a bad time or what. He saw 1 dress which he didn't like and he refused to look at others. Never going back there.
Shocked at how little they pay!!! Save your time (and money) and sell on marketplace!
Place is okay. Staff is friendly but space wasn't organized well. It was bit conjusted and should be clutter free
Friendly staff and excellent service, everything explained before I left the items, as this was the first time I had sold to the store. Would definitely be back.
Staff are super friendly and helpful! Store is always clean. New owners are great! The clearance sale was awesome- I got a ton of stuff for my girls!
As many parents know, dressing kids is expensive when you buy new. This store provides an easy way to keep costs low by letting parents bring in old clothes for store credit. It's rare that we dont find at least one or two great finds when there, making it so the only time our kids run naked is when they strip their own clothes off running down the block. So that new pair of shoes and outfit you bought at the kids store brand new last month, which they have gracefully outgrown after three uses, now can be turned in for store credit at Once Upon A Child so you can buy another pair of shoes and outfit for your beautiful/handsome behemoth. Rinse, repeat!
Poor service.
Fair pricing and find most kids and baby stuff if your in a bind.
Brought 10 Halloween costumes in yesterday to sell. I was told I could only get a store credit and that if I wanted cash I should come back the next day early in the morning and that they would pay $2 to $3 and up. All the costumes except one were in great condition(one was new in package $25). When I went back the offer for eight costumes was $12.???????????Of course I wouldn't accept that and should have just donated them to the Salvation Army and saved the gas money. Not only that when I got home one costume was missing.
