Update 2021: I've increased the rating this year because they've been very accommodating and I've never had a bad experience again. The staff is really nice and can help put items on hold for you, even sale items. They were also very helpful for my online returns. As always, I love the clothes and kitchen items here, so I'm looking forward to returning more often when possible.
Update: They contacted me & issued the price adjustment, hence why I've increased their rating.
Review: I like the products (good quality, fashionable styles), but like many of the previous reviewers, I have to agree that customer service is quite bad at this location. I was given the wrong information about their return policy by their staff member called Sara (I'm not sure about the spelling), which caused me to miss the opportunity to receive a discount on a few items I purchased. The part that stings isn't the monetary factor, but that they (specifically the store manager called Holly) won't apologize for it or admit any fault on their part. They also won't offer to help you. I'm not sure I ever want to come here again and will most likely make the trip to their Granville location or shop on the online store instead.
For those who want to read the details, here goes:
I bought a few items this week, some of which were on sale. The next day, I notice that the discount in store goes from 30% to 40%. I asked if I could get a price adjustment, for which I get told by their staff member Frankie that their store policy doesn't support it for sale items. I need to buy the items again at 40% and return the ones I bought at 30%. Hearing that, I head to the sales section and by luck, am able to find all the items I had bought in store that day. Once I get to the counter, another employee called Sara tells me that I don't need to do the whole "buy/return" combo and that they can price adjust any purchases made up to 14 days ago. All I need to do is bring my receipt within that time period. I thus give her the sales items I had gathered and head home to return another day with my receipt.
The next day, I call to ask if I need to be there in person for the price adjustment. I'm an Anthro Loyalty member and they have my receipts on their system. Holly, the store manager, answers my call and informs me that they will not do the price adjustment on my sales items due to store policy. This is where I get confused and tell her that her employee, Sara, had told me otherwise... which was why I didn't buy the items yesterday at 40% when I was at the counter. Holly tells me: "Sara says she didn't say that", which makes me feel as though she's implying that I'm lying...
Holly says I can put the items on hold and come back to the store again... to do the "buy/return" combo I was originally going to do. I'm not too happy about this, but agree to the plan... but then she tells me that some of my items have been sold out between yesterday and this morning. I've thus lost my chance to get my additional discount. I ask if I can simply return my 30% off item and buy my item again at the new 40% off. She refuses. I ask if they can at least admit to their responsibility in this and she tells me that it's my own misunderstanding and to read the text on the receipt...
And here we are. To be honest, it's not even a money issue. 10% isn't much... but this whole ordeal and being treated this way was extremely unpleasant. So no, I don't think I'll be coming back. I hope anyone reading this review understands that this Anthropologie location does not take responsibility for their own words/actions. They will not help you out or admit any fault if something does happen. Happy Holidays :(
