I went here earlier this summer to purchase some makeup advertised on their website. I was excited to see it, because I have never been able to find it elsewhere. I went to their location one day to see if they had any in stock. I did not have a good experience here. When the sales person asked what I was in for, this man immediately went into a very judgemental stance with me regarding the fact that I was purchasing this makeup for drag. Furthermore, he was extremely unprofessional and argumentative with me regarding what I wanted to purchase. He was berating of my choice to purchase....the entire reason I deigned to visit this empty hole in the ground...be thankful you had a customer. I was not impressed with this person. I did not come to your store to be talked down to. Lastly, he pulled out the entire selection of makeup, opened every box to confirm he did not have what I wanted. Lastly, he offered to order it in for me. I accepted and gave my information. My visit was in mid June. I was informed the product would arrive in mid July. It is now August and I have never heard back regarding this makeup. Thankfully I never paid anything. I won't be returning.

Specialty stores like Kind of Magic provide personal service and experienced advice you simply cannot get from any dollar store or VV boutique. They know their stuff, and provide a vast variety of costumes for all ages and body types that are truly out of the ordinary. The top quality theatre make-up they offer is higher priced than some may be used to, but the better quality and durability of the products prove more cost effective in the long run. While there, we noticed a customer was virtually being taught several magic tricks with a shared enthusiasm that was entertaining to witness. A definite gem in Waterloo!!

Really wonderful store and helpful staff! I went there a couple times before the pandemic and service was always great. I recently contacted them inquiring about a product. Since we're in lockdown and I now live out of town, the staff member sent me pictures of the item I was looking for to make sure it was the right thing! Above and beyond for customer service! Just went there for my first time and was greeted by smiley faces and some great info. Just starting out with magic and got some really cool demonstrations and excellent advice on a few products and where to start! I wasn't upsold at all, in fact he I sold me some of the cheapest decks he has which would do me better in the long run. Great customer service. I would even recommend going just to have a fun conversation about Mexico. Can't wait to go back and get some more!

My wife was working on a project and wanted to check the store out for some some contacts. So first off. The lady who was helping us (I know you said your name but I forgot) AMAZING. She took time to discuss the different contacts. the pros and cons as well as gave a lot of care instructions for use. Then we got into various types of make up. Which there was a wide selection of. Again the staff took time to demo some of it and discuss different techniques. Long story short loved the place. My wife loaded up on stuff. I told her to slow down and not get everything, just to give us an excuse to return.

Kind and helpful. When I told then I had a problem with the face paint they fixed it. They were very kind about it.they helped me get the right colors I needed. They showed me what the facepaint would look like before I bought it so I knew what I was getting. I love the facepaints and facepaint equipment like sponges and paint brushes from here are good quality and inexpensive.

This store is great. I felt foolish for going to a Spirit Halloween store after I stepped foot in here. I was greeted at the door with a hello and asked if I needed any assitance. I gave the lady a yes and provided a very vague "I need to be a wolfman" when asked what I was looking for. They hooked me up with everything I needed, gave me advice on what to do and offered a little tutorial on how to colour my hair and beard. Great store, staff and experience. You can tell they care and are happy to help you out.
