I had the misfortune of shopping a few items from this store.. There is a discrepancy in the billing which, unfortunately I did not notice until I came back to Vancouver. This is what I worte in my email: [I have been to the island during last weekend and had shopped from the store Glam and Fame on Saturday May 26th 2013. The transaction # 16114 I had bought these items: 1. one Dress-SM purple 106TP084; $44.99 2. one Top-small lime 103TP099; $39.99 (on sale, buy 1 get 2nd 50% sale) 3. two scarves (each $12, two for $20) To me, the merchandise above should cost ( $44.99 + $20 + $20) = $85 + tax. I have been charged $117.57, I see the lady at the counter (Pamela, Staff# 2468) had made an entry of 2 @39.99 when clearly I had bought only one top, neither do I see any entry for the scarves. Please look at the scanned copies of the bill and the tags for your convenience. I am totally confused, surprised, shocked and dismayed at this service. I request you to kindly look into this matter, clear my confusion.] I am yet to hear back from the store. I tried calling but the number is no longer available. I am utterly dismayed at this service. Although I liked the clothes, I will never again shop from this store, neither would I recommend anyone to shop!!! I will now lodge a official complaint on BC Consumer's Forum..

Beautiful clothing, designed to accommodate curvier women at a very reasonable price. Great and friendly service (and the designer was in-house too!), and an exciting range of clothing with plenty of versatility for everyday and upscale as well as a variety of styles to highlight (or hide) different assets. Made it a point to visit this shop, as I had bought what became one of my favourite dresses here 5 years ago. I hope my purchases from today will fare similarly but based on past experience, I can speak highly for the quality of the merchandise!

Wow I can't believe what has just happened, the new top I bought to wear out to our local pub has practically fell apart in an hour of wearing it!! So embarassing! (The top is a very loose fitting top too!) While I was trying clothes In the store I did give a top back to the assistant because it had a tear on the collar! Clearly these are poor quality or reject, defective clothing I am so disappointed!

Great stuff, but I would seriously consider their "Sale Policy" (printed on the receipt and taking up more space on the receipt that the info for the purchase) before shopping there again. Of particular interest: "If there is a price markdown on an item and it is being exchanged, the new price would be what the customer would get as a credit when exchanging regardless of the original price paid". Really? Who does that?? As well, best scrutinize your purchase before you walk out the door because "All Products Purchased Must Be Checked By Customer Before Leaving the Store, Any Claims Or Damages Afterwards Will Not Be Allowed" What awesome policies these people have! Despite the fact that I really liked the line, I will not shop there again. Not a customer focused kind of place. I would pay more and travel farther to be treated better.

I've shopped here for three years and have send people here to shop. Recently I bought a dress at full price only to realize there was a hole in the collar area a few days later when I tried to wear it (I had removed tags): a defective seam, Where there was no signs of ripping. The fabric escaped the seam line. I went in to exchange. Sadly the store manager told me that she can't do anything because the tags were removed and the dress had been worn (I wore the dress once in store only). She did not offer any solutions and kept accusing me of having worn the dress in front of other customers. I'm now on the hook to repair a brand new dress I bought at full price. This was a fairly minor issue which the store turned into a big deal. I know that if I was a local shop owner, I would go out of my way to make my customers happy specially with defective products. Unfortunately I got the urge to go out of my way to give a negative review. I don't recommend buying anything here unless you go through it with a fine-toothed comb and keep the tag on for a few wears.

My wife has been coming here for years and loves everything here! For being so reasonably priced, the clothes actually hold up really well! She still wears dresses from here that are 3+ years old! Not bad for being 1/4the price of Le Chateau! We’ve bought close to 30 items from here and haven’t had issues with any of them. Unlike big retail stores, these guys actually have unique patterns and styles that are close to ‘one of a kind’. Many of their products (maybe all?) are also made locally which is great as well! Overall, if you want to get great clothing without paying ridiculous prices...you need to go here. Friendly staff, lots of variety, and fantastic prices make this a “must visit” every time we come over from the mainland.

This store sells inexpensive clothing which isn't particularly well-made. They have an "exchange only" policy for purchases. I never shop at stores that don't offer a full refund on purchases returned quickly, with tags still on. When a business offers full refunds within 7 days for example, it's a sign of a well-run business that has confidence in the products they're offering. I run the other way when only exchanges are offered.

i was in this store yesterday and love the product. they have beautiful creative clothing for all ages. i bought 2 dresses, while my mother bought a tunic. its finally refreshing to shop in a store where i and my mom can both shop. most of all the product is all locally designed in victoria. thank you glam &fame! i will come back again

I was very impressed by Sam, the owner/operator of this lovely brick/mortar store, and his passion for customer service; this is a rarity these days. The clothing is unique, well-made and quite reasonably priced. Sam was gracious and helpful without being pushy or condescending. I found a piece that I will enjoy and hope to visit again when I can make a trip back to Victoria.
