This Costumes is classified in the category of Men's clothing store.
I can’t believe the neglect posts......I have shopped for the men in my life at the Red Stark for over 20 years and have never been disappointed in the service or quality of anything I’ve purchased. It’s awesome to have an independent men’s store in a small community and it definitely beat shopping at the big box and franchised store.
It was a great time. Shane helped me with my shopping.
Awful service.. Guy's trying to swindle u out of a fair deal.
Great service and some really nice men's clothes. ..
The owner is a completely awful business man. He's rude to customers and only cares about money. Not helpful at all. Never going back there ever.
I do NOT recommend Red Shark. We rented all the groom/groomsmen’s suits from here & definitely regret it. The facts: 1. My groomsmen’s vests were all grey (which was correct), EXCEPT for one, one groomsman opened his suit bag to find a PURPLE coloured vest. >When I called the owner he said he had another grey vest but it wouldn’t match the others & he would not deliver it to us (even though he was at fault& it was our wedding day). >Owner said he orders the suits from another company that’s far away and he wouldn’t be able to get the proper grey vest in time. >Every suit literally had a tag on it saying “inspected by” and an initial from someone. (Clearly it was not actually inspected or we would’ve got the right vest colour for them ALL.) 2. The white dress shirts did NOT match. The shirts all had different patterns of stitching on them & the collars were different. Not even same name on the tags inside. 3. Groom’s shoes were BROKEN. The shoes were clearly broken and coming apart & then walking in them all day/night obviously was uncomfortable and they broke away worse and worse throughout the wedding. Lucky he didn’t trip over them. (See picture). These are the facts^ here is our feelings: We are very upset about our experience with this company/owner. We trusted them with our men’s attire for our wedding -the most important day of our lives- and we were extremely let down. We weren’t even able to have the groomsmen wear their vests due to the owners error in ordering one vest in the wrong colour. The owner did not feel bad about this and said they could’ve wore them anyway (even when I said purple/pink orchid colour was NOT our wedding colours). I highly highly highly do NOT recommend this business.
Terrible fake place. Do not shop here
Very rude and the owners a cheat don't but anything here. 0 star rating if I could
The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. Had my first visit today and I will be a return customer.
Very terrible customer service when it comes to dealing with problems. Doesn't care about what the customer has to say and thinks it's okay to cheat young teens out of money. And doesn't say it anywhere that it is final sale except on a small paper behind the counter. Wouldn't directly answer questions or anything. I didn't believe all the rumours of people saying that Trenton was scummy and full of untrustworthy people until this happened. Owner must feel pretty successful having money in his pocket, that he cheated from people. Kinda sounds like Jordan Belfort with the scamming.
No refunds and ripping off customers, shop elsewhere
Wouldnt even give a star if i could. Owner treats customers poorly and over charges for the clothing all while saying its a "deal" Edit: they commented a lie on my Facebook review I left, to look good, then blocked me from responding. Great service dummy. I can make unlimited accounts to leave more reviews:)
Very knowledgeable proprietor. Comfortable experience. Great taste. Just explain what you want. You'll get taken care of.
Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Waited a week and didn't do the alteration on the sleeves of the sport coat I paid for. No time to take it back before the wedding.
The Red Shark likes to post about their great sales and deals but here is what you don’t know! There is a ‘no refund’ policy for the entire store—so don’t buy something unless you’re 100% sure you want it! You never get your money back.. ever..and they don’t tell you that either! You have to spot it out on the tiny piece of paper behind the desk..lucky for you folks, I’m here to inform you! And if you realize you’ve been misinformed on other deals that weren’t posted in the store, that sucks! There’s not a thing they’ll do to help you out besides give you snarky responses! If an item is on sale, it’s FINAL SALE, so you can’t bring it back for exchange..but if you bought it NOT on sale...you’re in luck! You can exchange it for “some nice blue jeans” or a store credit within 10 days (even though I guarantee you won’t be coming back once you realize you’ve been swindled!). Happy shopping!
They have a great assortment of clothing I didn't buy anything as it was all from China.
Very expensive and poor quality, someone purchased me a 65 dollar golf shirt and the button hole tore right away so I tugged on a few other seams and had that shirt shredded with little effort in minutes. They did offer a refund but I tossed it and learned a lesson.
Do not shop here. Horrible service, owner is very rude. Does not care about his customers at all!
I have made countless purchases at this store for many years and have always found the owner to be knowledgeable, candid and honest with me. He knows about every piece of merchandise he has in the store and can articulate their features, benefits and hence their value. When it comes to tailored clothing, I would challenge anyone in the area to find a tape man as good as Shane...perhaps the reason he has survived and where the others have all closed. I can honestly say that throughout the years, I have never been disappointed with any purchase I have made here nor have I ever had a reason to return anything. The clothing has always performed in the manner that it was presented to me by Shane. This is a wonderful store with an honorable owner. Anyone who does not give this store a try is only doing themselves a disservice in my opinion. To those who have had a poor experience here, my thought is, not that it’s any excuse I suppose, but he’s only human and perhaps he was having a bad day.ot something. Certainly miles out of character for what I have ever experienced here.
Great experience and staff is amazing. Their selection of clothing is great with best quality in Town.
Great service quality and prices
Good customer service and clothing one of the best in the Belleville/Trenton area
Do not shop at The Red Shark in Trenton Ontario, on Dundas St. The owner takes advantage of young people who do not know much about suits and makes you think you’re getting the best deal when you’re not. My boyfriend and I were referred to The Red Shark and knew nothing about how much a tux should cost, or any deals that were being held at this location. We went in looking to rent a suit as we knew it would be cheaper and didn’t see much reason to own a suit besides prom. As we walked in we thought we were in for a good deal when we saw everything was 50% off. Our first question to the owner was whether or not they rented suits, to which he responded “You can rent a suit for $200..or own a suit for $300”. $300 was completely in our budget and that sounded quite a bit better! After everything we picked out the total came to $477..not in our budget, but we figured we were in good hands and everywhere else must be more expensive (since we knew so little). We left the store, and my mom notified us that it was in fact too expensive, and we would be better off borrowing a suit or finding somewhere cheaper. She also notified us that she saw on the stores Facebook page that they had a deal on: “$179 to rent a suit-everything included (shoes, tie, cuffs, etc)— this was not something we were told even when I asked about renting suits. So, we immediately returned to the store, apologized for all the inconvenience, but we realized it just wasn’t in our budget and we’ve made a mistake. He told us everything is final sale, and that the things we bought that were not on sale could only be exchanged with another item or a store credit. He said there is absolutely no refunds, and if it was on sale, you can't exchange it at all. YOU NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK—AND NOWHERE CAN YOU BE INFORMED OF THIS BESIDES A LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER BEHIND HIS DESK (it’s not on his website, and he does not tell you). I told him that we looked on his Facebook and saw that he had a deal on that we were not told about.. I still thought that maybe he could help us out. He told us we could order ANOTHER suit with this deal..which makes no sense and now I was getting agitated. I explained to him that I felt slightly cheated that this information was not given to me when I previously asked about it, but he still offered no solution for us. He repeatedly told us that he DOES INFACT HAVE THE DEAL. He would not give me a solid response, and couldn’t find the right words. He kept saying that he only answers questions that are asked of him. He rudely told us he can’t write a book about all the sales and policies he has. We pointed out that the return policy HE DOES HAVE is on a little piece of paper behind the desk (we didn’t see or were told about before we purchased). Anywhere you shop you are told when something you buy is final sale, he is sneaky and leaves these sorts of things out. He knew that we were looking for a suit for prom, knew we were young and took advantage of all this. He led us right in the direction of spending more money instead of informing of us of a great deal. He repeats that he thought buying the suit would be better for us, and that’s why he didn’t tell us about the deal. He even began making up things that I said that never came out of my mouth. The man is a cheat, and cares more about money than the customer! If you want a good suit, do not expect honesty or general good problem solving from The Red Shark! In no way did he want to resolve the problem or even admit to his mistake...even when we went back again with my mother so that she could try to explain to him that we were young and there must be a misunderstanding somewhere. When he continued to be rude and stubborn, she told him that we would make sure we shared his policies (that he has failed to share with any of his costumers—besides the little paper behind the desk) on Facebook. He told us “make sure you spell everything right”. I have no doubt in my mind that there aren’t other customers out there who have been swindled like we have. Do not shop here!
Takes advantage to people who don’t know a lot about suits. Don’t shop here
Got 2 suits, couple of shirts and ties plus socks . Very friendly and professional would definitely recommend. My go to place from now on.
