Horribly rude customer service. Been there multiple time and never seen one smile or heard one word beyond what they have to say at checkout. Also if you have an item without a tag they get really upset and tell you to come back another day after it gets a new tag. I brought a shirt to the cashier and they told me to come back in 3 days when it is re tagged. I did and it was gone. So frustrating because you spend soo long looking for things at a thrift stor and then when you finally find something they tell you you can’t but it. I’ve seen them reject items from 4 people now. And they say it in their grumpy old voices. Not a nice place to shop and it’s because of the staff.
Considering everything sold was received for free the pricing is out of whack. Nothing thrifty, shelves full yes, but that's cuz prices are too high as its all used goods. 7$ for a mug? 20$ for stained jeans? 8$ for a warped candle? Few gems to be found when I went. As a pro thrifter I bought nothing here. Highly recommend they drop all prices by at least 25% if they want to move inventory and increase revenues. Store is clean, staff were quite nice, but the savings weren't there. Pricing seems greedy instead of trying to help the community in these tough times. Hopefully they adjust with store wide sales as there is potential here.
Nice store staff friendly clean.
The ladies are always so nice! !
Consistently well stocked and happily staffed, great place to browse through records and find hidden treasures for a deal.
Best salvation army in town. Staff is amazing. Great selection. Awesome finds.
Awesome
It's a nice place to get cheap stuff
Dropping off gifts and gift cerificates
Its pretty gucci
Very rude employees
(Translated) Big choice from the toothbrush to the bike There is pretty much everything at very reasonable prices. Also real bargains Dane Il. (Original) Grosse Auswahl von der Zahnbürste bis zum Fahrrad Gibt's so ziemlich alles zu sehr günstigen Preisen. Auch echte Schnäppchen Dane Il.
The staff are really nice and courteous plus they have really good stuff for less
Nice place to shop
Lots of stuff, cool bucket hats
Bought a jacket, noticed when I got home that the zipper was damaged beyond repair. I tried to return it within the specified time limit. They would only let me do an exchange since the tag had been removed but I did bring the tag with me. I could not find anything that I liked that was the same price so I asked if I could receive a store credit. They refused. Poor customer service.
Great selection of used products, very organized.
Great Selection. Friendly staff
It’s a okay store
Found a paisley designed long sleeved t-shirt plus got 10% off.
Great deals with friendly staff. Big clean store
Every cashier so far have been engaging and welcoming with a smile
Very tidy for once but not as interesting selectionwise, this time,I found. Prices much higher than all other thrift stores in the area too. Ie a skirt $9 here, a nicer one of better quality near semiahmoo mall is $5.
This is one of the best Sally Anns in the Metro Vancouver area. It's huge and has a great selection if everything. I found a great pair of comfy shoes for work which appear to be barely worn!
Great place to find used clothes or stuff for the house
Huge selection and friendly service.
Descent thrift shop. Lotsa turnover. New things.. can be a bit pricey on some things But worthy a visit ...
Has nice selections at an affordable price. Went here and was surprised at how big the store became especially with the nice furniture and everything was neatly organized and in very nice condition. Would come here again if heading to the beach, when I have a bit more time to look closely at things.
This is the cleanest, most elegant thrift store I've ever seen. Quality stuff. Friendly staff
Rude.
My favorite
(Translated) A place to shop comfortably. (Original) 편안하게 쇼핑 할수있는곳.
It a great place to drop off your Clothing and ECT thing's you don't need Anymore and just taking up space
My parent flew over with nothing in 1954, they were the only ones to help them.
This is my favourite location to drop off any donations I have! They are almost always accepting, except for when the store was flooded. The staff are super friendly and always help me out! After donating, I get a 20% off coupon for my next $20 purchase in store.
Awesome little thrift store very good prices and a great cause!
Great finds!
What a great thrift store! Plenty of selection and reasonable prices. I always find something fabulous!
Decent selection of items. A bit tight on space.
It is a rather small thrift store so there isn't much selection. They are usually well organized but it isn't the cleanest thrift shop.
Really clean store. Only sell nicer second hand items. Can find some great deals, as well as cool antiques. Definitely the cleanest second hand store in town.
Always the thrill of the hunt
I don't know who the genius was that decided the prices for EVERYTHING in the Salvation Army stores should be doubled (at the very least) but it hasn't gone unnoticed by me or my freinds. Gone are the days of always finding a treasure to take home. $30 for a small clay flower pot. I saw the exact same pot yesterday at an upscale garden centre for the same price - except it was clean! Thanks but I'll save my money for thrift stores who are in it for the benefits to everyone and not just for their bottom line.
Well organised and fantastic low prices, got myself some nice clothing and a lamp that works. Staff is very polite and I even got a bit of discount, not based on my good looks, but it was a welcome to seniors day. Nice to browse a bit for some more stuff for Christmas gifts its a wonderful place.
Clean and well organized.
Hey. Stop in and say hello to the people that are making a difference in Vernon.
Had all the crafts needed
(Translated) The prices are very affordable. (Original) Les prix sont très abordables.
The thrift store has gone through some major cosmetic upgrades in regards to the way the items are catalogued and the shelves appear to be cleaned regularly. Items on shelves appear to be in good shape and the same goes for the clothing that i looked at. And now it being winter the selection for coats and accessories are plentiful. Thumbs-up...
Lots of great stuff. But sometimes hard to buy some items not priced
Way cheaper than value village
Always nice things
Good
Can always find great buys just slightly too expensive for a second hand store
Best place to shop. Great staff always very nice and helpful. Awesome stuff and great prices.
Good people, good service.
Nice staff
Found exactly what craft material needed.
Great selection to pricy though for a thrift store
It's pretty pricey.
Lots of cheap stuff but no luxury items I thought I could find due to location. Little staff but friendly
Lots of great finds if you take the time to look!
Good selection . Id like to echo the sentiments of many of these reviews. That older guy with the face piercing needs to go. He took one look at my van and rejected all my goods. I had a working laptop , popcorn machine, awesome clothes amongst many other things. Bad vibes.
Found some great things here!
Awesome space, great community supporter
Lacks youth clothing
Higher end of pricing than I'm used to seeing. Clean store. Well organized. Plenty of space, so there's no crowding.
I've had a lot of luck finding interesting things here
Overwhelming inside, crowed feeling and intense bright florescent lights that hurts the eyes.
Nice place, pricey though.
Items are over priced for a thrift store, it's more and more like a Value Village now in pricing. This location tends to be a bit dirty and cluttered in its layout. Table lamps with lampshades on the floor, I saw the same lamp get knocked over multiple time by different customers. Lots of broken or shabby/worn out items on the shelves.
unimpressive... staff fellow was helpful and nice but atmosphere was stressed and overall experience LEFT me feeling like I wasted my time...
Not as good as world serve and superfluity
Decent amount of choices here. Organization is good enough to browse. Prices are average, with some gold mines here and there. Met a super friendly staff here. She was helpful and talkative.
I like vintage stuff
Very friendly! Pleasure to drop good's!
Seemed a tad overpriced.
(Translated) Operating hours are longer than other second-hand stores, with more goods and reasonable prices. (Original) 營業時間比其他二手店長,貨品多而價格合理。
Kind service, super clean, ok prices
Clean and wonderful finds
Not amazing, but it's been here forever.
So expensive...worse then value village
Cellini's teach them about cleanliness because it's Next to Godliness.
Lots of great little gifts and ideas here
very cozy atmosphere, I love coming here on a gloomy day. Lots of neat stuff to look at!
Thrift store
This Salvation Army is amazing! Very organized and clean! :)
This store is a thrift store, you can donation used clothes and shoes .The cashier is very friendly.
Well organized
I went in and found a cute little picture frame for 3.99 When I went to the counter the cashier said it was actually 9.99 and punched it in as so. I told her the sticker says 3.99 and she Said it’s wrong and peeled it off and if I wanted it I would have had to pay the price she changed it too. I think this is absolutely ridiculous. How can you just decide when checking out my things that you want to charge more? I walked out and will never go to this location again. So rude and unkind.
Love this store!!! clean & organized + great pricing. What more can you ask for? Coffee??? They have that too!!! Their staff is friendly, I always look forward to going here.
I went into the store looking for a few pairs of summer shorts. I happen to come across a beautiful Blazer that looked like it had never been worn so I tried it on and it fit perfectly the price was a ridiculously low $7 but when I took it to the cash register I was informed that since it had a yellow ticket it was now half price. So $3.50 for a jacket that must have been close to $200 new. I also bought a Arrow golf shirt for $4. Sounds about right for a thrift store right? Well just for comparison Value Village had some ratty golf shirts that were $9.95 and the cheapest Sports jacket they had was $38.50. So all in all shop for a real charity get some decent clothes for a cheap price and feel good about doing it. That's the Salvation Army
One of the best salvation army I've ever been to
Good things
Passed by this Salvation Army a handful of times in the past and finally decided to stop by. Items are higher priced than the average thrift store. Staff was rude as mentioned by multiple other reviews here. I was served by Shirley today and presented her with my 20% off coupon, which she did not apply to the items because she was distracted talking to another costumer and her colleague. I kindly asked if she could re do the transaction so that the coupon could be applied. She said that its not possible to do that. Not pleased with her condescending and unpleasant service. Will not be back.
Always a fun place to stop by to find some hidden treasures
Great prices
Love the bag day
Decent prices. But needs more mens clothes.
Great sales and selection
Bought the lamp of my dreams, there was a sticker on I saying that it worked. I even asked a worker who promised me it worked. I brought it home and it's broken and doesn't work. Thanks.
NICE
A little over priced for a thrift store. Staff not very friendly.
Salvation Army. A good place to find various second hand items such as clothing, home decor and kitchen utensils. The store is very clean and organized. The team members are very attentive to provide assistance. The overall flow of the store is set to provide you with ideas of the items they have available for sale at a very reasonable prices. Recycling is a good thing. Go and take a look. I am sure they will have something you might want.
Needed a new set of duds! Perfect as always!
Pretty dumpy really un maintained high prices slow staff
Has allot of items, all depends what you are into.
Love this store. Very kind clerks. Quite large and lots of selection. The only thing is they cram too many clothes on the racks and it's hard to look through
I love this place. The people there are very friendly, the prices are great, and there are tons of great finds.
Staff are friendly and reasonable prices. Discount coupon for donations. Nice shoe selection. They also have a section with very new clothing items, must be stock from other retail locations...
Lots of selection great displays but $$
Very disorganised, only come here rarely but am always discouraged by the disorganisation and what feels like items just strewn all about the shelves. The shoes and adults clothing was organised, but the rest was not. Also, I don't recall Salvation army being so expensive in previous years. It's like value village pricing now.
The best place to give, therefore to help the ones in need
Friendly.
Found craft items.
Terribly rude staff but lots of decently priced things
Great
Good selection. Great prices. Large store with a ton of different items from clothes to book and games... they also have a ton of Knick knacks!!
I can always find treasures here
This is a large, clean, well organized location. I have found numerous great items here.
Very overpriced. Will price even damaged items high. Customer service is poor and staff can come across as rude.
Love retro finds and cheep prices
Renew Reuse Recycle!!!
Limited selection on kids and men's fashion. Bright clean store with lots of surprises.
Worst Thrift store. Prices are SUPER INFLATED honestly just plane price gouging. This Thrift Shop and I use that term lightly because there is absolutely NO THRIFTING At this Store. It us a Complete SHAME!!!! Talk about PRICE GOUGING! Shame on these people for trying to fleece patrons with their grossly OVER PRICED items. Do not recommend. DO NOT SHOP HERE ???? The fact that this store has received all of their inventory by donation from honest people in the Community then Over Priced everything to make ????% PROFIT is disgusting. There are SO many other Thrift stores in this area that have a great selection and reasonable 2nd hand prices that you can shop at with a good conscience. Do not shop here. So many other great reasonably priced Thrift stores in the area. This is not one of them
Very clean and organized. Good prices
Great hours. The last time I went the service wasn't very friendly.
The staff are rude. I donated quite heavily here while redecorating my house. I bought some new furnace filters still in their original packaging. They were the wrong size. Even though they were still unopened I couldn't get a store credit. I was also later informed by a friend on the Salvation Army's militant stance against the lbgqt community. I decided there were other charities I would prefer to donate to.
Great busy thrift store with lots of merchandise.
Nice little store!
Definitely recommend going. Good deals and helps the community.
Great
new treasures every day but they almost charge as if the stuff is new!
I have been coming to this place on and off for over 15 years. I always come back due to my love for thrift stores. Sadly I finally have to leave a review after all this time. I have never had a good experience. The staff always treats everyone so rude. They act annoyed when dealing with customers and order them around as if they have control over them. The items are also extremely overpriced. I have found items priced for more than they would be new.
The book section here is very well organized
It's a very diverse store ,lots of unusual items ,plenty of clothing , housewares, electronics and furniture. Fairly priced and new stock daily, it's one of my favourite Sally Ann store's.
Some great finds, but not always cheap
Nice. clean.have a lot
Amazing thrift store. Packed with a wide selection of reasonably priced stuff for every room in your home. Great staff as well.
It's ok I find cds that I ????
Lots of clothing and housewares
Never know what you will find at salvation army
It's not a bad thrift store but a lot of the items I feel it overpriced maybe it's the area maybe they feel the brand names entitled to a better price but really I don't think so you can't sell you can't make money and if you can't make money you can't hire new employees and you can't grow the business better that's just my opinion I do understand overhead and output cost so still a little pricey
Overpriced to the point they’re trying to sell a jacket with a broken zipper for $20, the jacket is not worth this much money, especially in the condition it is. These people are so greedy I hope it back fires at you, whoever price gauges customers like myself who go to thrift store because we can’t afford to shop at a mall. This store is disrespectful towards low income people.
So many cool old things to look at
Feel good about donating here. Drive through is convenient for drop offs
I've been disappointed a few times to take clothing home and find it ripped or with an unseen hole, something missing,etc.... Not a good vetting process from the people in the back...they do price high - in most cases for name brand things - higher than even value village.
To expensive seems to be following in the footsteps of value village. Very disapointed
Voss is only $2.50 (including water) at the grocery store lol This is NUTS!!!! Someone needs to get ahold of themselves when pricing items. You’re a charity, you receive these items for free and you’re pricing many people out of being able to afford to shop here for clothes and necessary items. Oh I forgot one time I was charged by accident an extra $30. That’s fine, people make mistakes. Anyway, I went back to get my $30 refund and they said I can’t get a refund. I can only spend that at the store and I also couldn’t get a coupon to use later, I had to spend it right then. I know that’s common practice with returns, but not a mistake made on your end. I didn’t have time to shop, and didn’t want to spend that money at your shop. That is literally stealing. You overcharge me and tell me I need to spend it at your shop?? Right that moment??? What???? Half your merchandise is ripped and stained and you still price it 10x higher than it should be. Give your head a shake!!!! Some items still have their original tags on them and are cheaper than the salvation army’s price. Stop being so greedy
Awesome thriftstore ...great staff!!!
Finding treasure is good experience.
Always enjoy the customer service at this very well organized and clean outlet. They go above and beyond to make your shopping experience just wonderful.
Prices are great and you know the money is going to charity
Unfriendly and unhelpful
Good customer service. Thanks Keith.
(Translated) Affordable prices (Original) Precios accesibles
The prices at this store are exorbitant. I found several things that I have seen brand new, in other (non thrift) stores and the prices in this particular branch (White Rock) of Salvation Army were much higher than the original prices. Someone had donated a collection of camels that ranged from Dollar Store qualiy to better made ones. The minimum price I observed was $3.99. A small china, soya sauce bowl priced at $1.99 at T& T Supermarket was priced at $6.99. When leaving the store as the cashier was the only staff person visible I gave her my feedback. She just kept mumbling "I don't know". This is a lady I have seen working for the company for over 15 years. I have seen her in other branches and she is otherwise quite articulate. Perhaps she isn't allowed to forward feedback but she could have told me how to do it. This is not a thrift store; its a regular business that retains maximum income from sales with poor service and unfair exchange policies with no refund options.
Very expensive for a thrift store, just like everyone else on here says
Some Karen tried to kick me out
Love shopping here good service
Ladies are wonderful there????
Love Salvation Army...they do so much good.
Bought a few things good prices good quility for second hand things..
great finds
Good selection of used clothing, household items, and other goods.
Interesting stuff. Got quite a few books.
Lots to choose from. Great place to send your extras.
Always have to come here when I visit family!! So clean, very organized and great prices!
Prices are high for the thrift store
(Translated) Very good store and good price! (Original) Tres bon magasin et de bon prix !
I love hanging out here and seeing all the locals, every day I can find a treasure and the staff is friendly to all of us
Great value with low prices
Good place to find great deals. Clean and well orgsnized.
They made me leave and drive down the scary alley to drop off my donation to literally the same room (just a different door). Also, the prices here a ridiculous. How in good faith do you charge $50 for a jacket that you've received for free? What are people who rely on second hand stores for clothing doing now? Where can I drop off my clothes to places that will actually help people in need?
Wow, why buy anything new??? So much more variety than “this season’s” fashion that is same at all stores. And of course prices are amazing. From small furniture pieces to art and anything imaginable for the kitchen and dining, it’s all there, helping us save and recycle in the best way possible.
Horrible customer service! Starting from the manager and ending at sales people. Unreasonable pricing! They do not care at all if they sell something or not! One of their cameras is there for already a year! And guess - still the same price! But the worst of the worst is their male supervisor. This guy has absolutely no skills nor attitude for the customer service. He should be called Mr. Rude. Avoid, don't waste your time!
Nicely organized but there prices are getting to high. All the stuff is donated and lower income families can't afford much.
Prices have sky rocketed. So ridiculous. I asked the staff who does the pricing about some of the prices she came up with. The item was selling at the bay new for literally 5 dollars less then what they had priced; and it was worn and obviously used. Even after I brought this up with her she was rude and said nothing, just walked away.
Love that store. Very organized. Friendly staff. Always find something great
Very nice little store. Good pricing and polite staff
Trift store in white rock some neat stuff
Perfect
I find them to be a bit pricey, but i can usually find something good, and it goes to a good cause i guess.
Fun to shop and find things to use and very pleasant staff.
Wish u cud get a discount of some kind for donating clothes or by spending certain amount get something off - like KL does
Awesome store and great staff. Always find really good deals. Some stuff is quite overpriced but all in all I love shopping here.
Great Safety precautions in place, you can find things you forgot about and a good variety of clothing, housewares, bedding and various other things. Prices are very reasonable.
Very helpful and good selection.
lots of stuff...almost too much ...way over priced compared to other thrift stores
Best used clothing store in Vernon. They don’t try to rip you off like “Value” Village does.
Lots of inexpensive stuff to look at
Not alot but some very nice and valuable vintage items for cheap. Just take your time when browsing.
smaller store but good prices
1 star because these are NOT thrift store prices. Disgusting how a “non-profit” store puts absurd prices on items they’ve had donated. Pure greed. Don’t bother asking them to change an items price, they’ll straight up ignore the request.
They seem to tag things by the name brand.. not the quality and that's a shame
Reasonable prices and the store is kept clean.
Neat thrift store
Great second hand deals... good charity
good deals but couldve had more selection
Great finds here
Good store decent products
Decent Thrift Store, I find it a little cramped and unorganized compared to others, but I do enjoy spending an afternoon browsing the shelves. Most of the staff are nice in there too, never had a bad experience!
Lots of good brand clothes and cool knick knacks
It's the Salvation Army, I couldn't give them a bad rating under any condition, lol. However today was a "better than usual" experience, we were all in stitches over something, I don't remember what it was. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Get what ya need.
The best place to drop off slightly used furniture, goes to the best cause.
Excellent place to find what you need.
Love shopping here great prices
Always find way too much. Treasure hunting at it's best.
Good selection of gently used clothes at a great price. Better deals than most salvation army's I've visited. Never know what you'll find! Also nice selection of books and children's clothes and toys
Very busy place
Unfortunately the staff at this location are incredibly rude. If items other than large furniture are not being accepted for donation because of COVID-19, this should be listed on your website.
Good
Large store with lots of selection
Had just what I was looking for in a crunch. Also saved me about $100
Theres no change room, and you cant return or exchange anything, but they have some really good stuff there
What is not to love?!
I went to the store to drop off a couple of things at 10:15 in the morning but the door was locked. There was a note on the door saying they would be closing at 11:00 so I went to the back to see if I could just drop my things off. While standing there wondering if I should just leave my stuff a man opened the door and said "We're not taking donations today". (There were a lot of other things dropped at the door.) I said "It's just bubble wrap for you to wrap purchases in". He grabbed the bag and threw it on the other things and slammed the door. NEVER again will I support the Salvation Army with either money or donations.
It was ok. Things were priced to high. Everything is donated and prices should reflect to sell for people who need the help!
