Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced! There are many other options in London including Kijiji London. I would try those first! Wish this system had NEGATIVE stars as well (1 star is too generous). I returned a high chair that I purchased from them 3 years ago (it was stained on the straps at that time). Would they let me negotiate them down at that time, absolutely NOT, so I payed the $80 or so and when home with it. Today I returned it to exchange for a booster seat, they wouldn't give me a dime (due to the exact same stains). I would have been happy for a straight swap for the $15 booster seat. Well that didn't happen. I'm a busy guy so I don't waste time...payed the $15 left the highchair (which I bet they will sell again) and decided to spread the word about the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Save your used items, and money....PLEASE, PLEASE choose an other option. You will be glad that you did. Don't take my word; research and read the many negative reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this place so much this is the place where I get all my son's clothes and stuff for him. They have very nice brand name clothes for a fair price . Can't beat the deals in here . Everything looks almost brand new . Thank you once upon a child for being an amazing store.

Excellent store. Great selection, great prices. We often find items with tags still on for less than half of what they'd be retail. The only thing I've noticed is that sometimes the offers for stuff they buy seems low, but it's convenient, and they've got to make money.

Staff is brisk and seem annoyed to deal with you. Don't bother bringing in baby clothes, they only take brand new stuff at such a low cost that you're better off passing it on to someone you know or putting it up on kijiji. Bought some toys; price fine but they were in a sealed bag... Filthy! Not impressed.

I do love this store however, I got a text today saying there was a Black Friday sale only to find out there wasn’t really a sale at all. They had just put out items with original tags on them. I do feel like that is misleading and should not have been labeled as a Black Friday sale. I even double checked with two members of staff to be sure I wasn’t missing out on anything since j made a special trip in.

A great place to find deals on kids clothing, toys, and accessories. Once your children are grown you can bring in items for a few dollars. Staff are pleasant and love children.

haven't been here in a while, very crowded aisles, clothes packed like sardines which makes it hard to look thru, toys and junk everywhere, carpet very dirty as though it hadn't been vacuumed in a long time but loved that parents let their small children crawl all over it. used to like coming here but way too junky.

Disorganized overcrowded store with poor customer service. You would think a store that relies on people bringing you merchandise would care more about keeping their customers happy. I have been a semi regular customer at this store for a few years and it is always difficult to find merchandise, often sizes are on the wrong racks, shoes are all in big bins and while sometimes I can appreciate the hunt sometimes it's very frustrating. All the baby items are in big bins and impossible to find what you are looking for. Today I finally had had enough when I was trying to find some cloth diapers and everything was all randomly torn apart and I finally found a set of cloth diapers that were all in a bag that was torn but I assumed they went together because they were all the same brand. I brought the bag and some pieces that were loose in the bin to purchase them the manager refused to sell any of them because she claimed that someone had gone through the bins and tried to make their own bags so I could not purchase any of the diapers. She would not even offer to look at what I was trying to buy to give me a price on it and said they would not sell any of it until she re-sorted through the whole box. And don't even bother trying to sell clothes here, I take them straight out of the dryer put them in a plastic bag, and get told that they can't accept any of it because of "pet hair". I give up not worth wasting your time when Old Navy has better prices and customer service than this.

My daughter absolutely loves this store, she likes being able to come here and go hunting for the diamonds in the ruff that suit her fashion sense, She loves to have the option to come here and get more clothes for her allowance than going to Lime Ridge Mall and getting perhaps 1 item she can get 3 or 4 similar items here.

A unique shopping experience. I'm not very accustomed to thrift stores so I was initially a bit apprehensive to visit. But I was urged by other parents to check it out since there are loads of books and toys in addition to clothing. I was pleasantly surprised by the inventory and ended purchasing quite a few items for my 2 and 4 year old daughters. Nicely laid out, loads of inventory, and plenty of free parking.

Great place to pick up gently used clothing for kids. Go here to save a few bucks on clothes for your children. I've never tried selling clothes to them, but buying clothes here is great.

There are a few staff members who are helpful and friendly- but the majority of the staff are RUDE and seem bothered that you’re there young and old alike. The store is messy and overcrowded and the associates seldom “let you pass by” practically knocking you as they pass with their bins of inventory. I’m a new mom and have heard great things about this store- but after shopping here many a time, I’d rather travel further to another OUAC store and give them my business.

I get lost in this store and can easily spend more than an hour shopping for my four and two year olds- love the quality of the clothes and the variety! I just wish they had more shoes for my four year old but I understand that’s not something they have control over. Staff is friendly- would recommend!!!

I visit this store often for clothes and toys for our little one. They do a great job sorting, posting new special items online and will hold something if you call in for up to 3 hours. While the wait in line can be long during big events, like the recent winter outdoor launch, it's worth it when you're getting such great product at such amazing prices!

Great place to bring your unused or gently used child items to sell. They've got a decent selection of toys and essential items for sale strollers, bouncers, etc.), and a ton of clothes for all ages.

Used to be very impressed with OUAC, but they've made it far too difficult to navigate the store safely with a stroller and accompanying children due to the tight aisles. Equipping the store with decent carts would be beneficial. The prices are also rising, making it only a deal to shop used if you take advantage of their major sales. Otherwise sales for new items at The Children's Place and Old Navy online rival and sometimes totally beat the prices of Once Upon A Child.

It's a once upon a child. It's stacked to the ceiling with used kids stuff, and there is literally almost constantly a kid crying somewhere in the store, but where else can you rummage through a huge bin of a single size of soccer shoes to find which $6 pair of shoes to buy. Best experienced when you don't actually have your kids with you. Great deals.

I tested this store with a small batch of clothing today . I strongly NOT recommend you bring your children's used clothing to the Whiteoaks location for resale. I brought brand name current fashionable items for 4 year olds items from Gap, Ralph Lauren, Joe Fresh, Old Navy, Merrel- gently used. I expected a reasonable return not expecting too much however when I returned to settle the lady mentioned that they only wanted a few items to my surprise due to small marks and that I had great shoes. I immediately declined the $20 they offered for over 6 of my items. I estimated to get at least $60 for everything on the low side. In the end I said I would rather donate it to my church. I understand they need to make a profit however this was an insult and waste of my time. When I looked around their store I saw a rack near the cashier with a sign that said "Check out these great deals!! A pair of winter boots on the rack had mud on them yet they had a problem with a small mark on a piece of my clothing. The woman at the counter was polite however it raises the question as to who makes the final decision on what is bought?? I would recommend this store owner to do more research and hire a scout to purchase brand new items for resale at their used clothing store and save time for people who bring good quality used apparel. You should be ashamed for ripping people off who bring their gently used items to you and for those vulnerable families thinking they are getting a good deal buying things from your below par so called second hand store.

Found gloves at an ok price... but the place is always so messy and chaotic... they reject barely used items but when I buy stuff I discover stains and holes so... I'm kinda fed up. These stores are great in theory but this one makes my anxiety go up just from the mess walking around the store . Like ... racks leaning on the checkout where I need to stand to pay!? Really guys.. if I knock it by accident and a childs injured while waiting in line.. imagine the liability.

Ohh I love this place! I was pregnant when I visited OUAC Scarborough for the very first time. I got all the essential starter pack for my first born son. And I always keep coming back because its a great find store for a mother like me. Lots of books which I actually bought 10 books for 10cad. Onesies are absolutely amazing as well for 10 pcs for 10cad. And my husband says What!!! ???? Go back and buy more. ???? Cheers to the pregnant cashier. She’s so polite and accommodating. And to the lady who sings. Such a great voice. I haven’t met the owner but thanks for putting wonderful find items at your store. ????????

The owner thought I was selling my children's wagon (which I was not) The owner stated it looked "dirty and over used/poor condition"...???... it's only three months old without a scratch on it?? Even if I was selling it, I would tell her "NO WAY" in regards to any amount she offered me.The dollar amounts being paid out upon selling items seems to have dropped significantly over the past two years? They take more and more clothing/toys but for little, next to no pay out or credit? Locations entrance is outside by the Library parking area. They buy your used baby and children's clothing, toys, shoes and gear and pay you cash. What they pay you is determined on the original price and it's condition. Sometimes they don't even offer anything for your items or offer very low.

I love that you can buy second hand. But the store is a disaster.. I bring clothes in to have them bought off me. They dont put anything back in the totes nice. I understand they are moving quickly, though I can't even close my tote after they bought stuff off me . Super disappointed in the way they just toss my items they don't want back in. Also how they separate my outfits after being asked not to... not sure I will be back. We have shopped here lots but after this being the 2nd time . They have lost my business.

I did my shopping via video chat during the Covid-19 closures and I couldn't be happier! It was easy, convenient and I was able to purchase all of my daughter's summer clothes, some new books and fun, interactive toys in one quick call. When my purchase arrived they were all in perfect condition, some even with original tags! Don't take your child's clothes here to sell. You're better off selling on Facebook market. I brought in boxes and boxes of summer clothing that was never worn and they took maybe 10% of the clothes I brought in. "We don't take infant clothing and we don't take clothing in boxes." I came in to purchase items during a combination clearance sale and multiple item deal. Katharine took the time to ensure that I understood which items would not qualify for the multiple item discount because of sizing, and she also took the time to show me where specialty items were located- never knew there were cloth diapers for sale! In addition to being helpful she was very friendly and definitely made me feel confident in my purchases.

This was my first time at this place and its unreal. I bought an item I needed for super cheap, some cloth diapers for $3 each, reusable breast beads. They do have some new products. It's not all consignment. And you can bring your unused children's gear here as well....I dont know what they're like for that bit I will be returning. I had already dont alot of shopping elsewhere so I didnt have enough hands for stuff. Staff were helpful. It was busy with people and kids, I say leave the kids at home, makes for an easier shopping experience for everyone as there were crying n and off etc....

Seems that the items are bit over priced considering the items are used. However the store is having lots and lots dresses and footwear. It takes around 45 mins to 1 hour to finish looking through the dresses for the kids. The staffs too are friendly.

Very reasonable place to buy gently used children's clothes, especially baby items. They also have things like toys, books and small furniture. I have only heard bad things about selling clothes to this store so would not recommend if you're looking for any real cash for your used kids clothes BUT if you're willing to donate either way then it would be worth your time to take items there.

There is a great selection of used kids clothing here. I don't think I've ever walked out empty handed. Don't bring in your used items, expecting to get a bunch of money back. They have to make a profit, if your items are in season, you might get a bit more.

I live in Toronto but prefer to go to this store instead of the 3 stores in Toronto. This store is much larger than the ones in Toronto. The staff is way more friendly and helpful (I've told the management twice). They have a large selection of used toys, clothes, books, etc. They also have some new/unused items. They have special liquidation events where you can get things even cheaper than their regular sale price. They make sure whatever you bring in is clean (No smudges or wear-and-tear). No batteries are included in their toys. They won't take clothes that don't sell well. They give loyalty points (1 point for every $20 bought/sold to them). It used to be that 20 points gets you 20% off your entire purchase but in Aug 2017 when they converted to use Vincinity, it now takes 40 points to get 20% off.

My first time at a Once Upon A Child store & my experience was great! I mainly visited to sell a few items and see how much I can get. For 6 items (denim pants, denim outfit, leggings, shorts, onesie, romper- ranging from sizes 18months-4T all brand new, never used, still with tags) I received $11..I was hoping to get a little more considering all 6 items were brand new with tags. Overall the store was very clean & well organized. The staff was very welcoming! I also scored a pair of toddler boys Nike’s for half the retail price elsewhere & the condition of the item was basically brand new! I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Hit and Miss. I have found some great things here, but have also seen lots worn and pilling clothes. Once even found a baby onsie with a brown stain all up the back. As for selling, I guess it depends who you get. Some of them accept poop stained clothes, but I brought in never-before worn, in-season clothes, some with tags still on from the GAP, and was told everything was worn and stained...??? I do find a gem here sometimes, but have much more consistent experiences at other locations. It's too bad since this is my closest one.

I went to once upon a child before my 1st daughter was born. I stocked up on onsies and sleepers. I got so many, for such a great value! I was so surprised. Since then, I have returned for christmas, Halloween, valentines day outfits, sleep sacs, shoes and toys ! The owners go out of their way to say hi and get to know me and my baby. I really cant say enough good things about this location. I go often... even just to 'window shop' but I always leave with something hahahaa !

I have mixed experiences with this location. I have found some great things here over the years and have been a semi regular customer since it opened. My feedback is mostly around the buying process. I hope that they can find some way to be more consistent when purchasing items. I find the buying process to be extremely inconsistent. I have brought things in, and thought "wow, they bought all of that". Other times, I have had items that they refuse to buy for a tiny tiny mark. The buyer had a hard time finding the tiny mark again to point out to me. The section I was looking to purchase in, while I waited, had way bigger stains and flaws/marks on the clothes than what I had, and truthfully, some of the stuff I had brought in was in better condition. It leaves me confused. When I asked the lady about it, she explained that it depends on the buyer. I understand subjectivity, but there should be some work done in terms of consistency. One item in particular they refused to buy, was never even worn by my son and was purchased from their store three weeks ago. It was the exact same condition as when I bought it....so I can't figure that one out. Also, I would caution to be aware of some price points here. If you catch a good sale, brands like George, Old Navy and Children's Place can often be purchased brand new at the store for around the same price brand new.

Today I brought in a large garbage bag of clothing. All items were clean, name brands and in excellent condition, I made sure to take out anything with to much wear and donated to a local charity. I waited over an hour and only 3 items were taken totalling 5$. I was told my other garments were too worn. Total bull! I placed the 5$ towards my purchase and left with my large bag of clothes. I decided to take them to the OAC in Stoney Creek where almost everything else was taken and I was given just under $40. I will never return to this location, it was a total waste of time and gas. Clearly the person doing the purchasing needs retraining. The store was also jam packed and the shoe section was completely disorganized. I'll never go back.

The prices seem to have gone up and now seem to quite high for used clothes - I could possible find cheaper options on sales for new clothes. Also there’s no price variance between gently or very worn clothes. They are all the same price (which seems tooo much for used). It seems you have to watch for sales to get the Good prices (especially during clearance specials), the store is fairly well organized but could be better - there is a with a really great selection. They are a little picky with their buy backs compared to other once upon a child stores.

They don't actually buy gently used children's clothes, that are in great condition. I've been there several times to see if they would buy some of my mids clothes that they NEVER WORE and Once upon a child said that the styles were "too dated" or because the clothes were worn, so they couldn't buy them. What? Let's face it...its because I didn't pull up in a nice car. I dont have a car because I can't afford it. I bet most of your staff don't have cars either. Plus they over charge...must of their clothes they price at or above retail. Excuse me...you are a second hand store. You shouldn't be charging more for the clothes you are selling than what they are selling for BRAND NEW at the actual stores. What is wrong with you. I'll NEVER shop there again!!

Stuffed full, busy, but worth the effort getting around. Well organised, reasonably easy to find stuff, lots of good deals. I'm a father of six (10 and under) and I have a big appreciation for these stores. Prices are great for the most part, just don't assume everything is used and cheap. Then yesterday I had an online shopping experience and bc I was in need of bed rails but Alyssa made it so easy she took me all over the store and even extended my appointment because we were in the middle of a book search. My favourite childrens store!! The owners and staff are the friendliest people around, their selection, quality, and prices are really great, and they have discounts and deals very often-- sign up for their mailing or text message list or follow them on instagram to see when they have sales! Selling to them is also a very easy process and you usually don't need to call ahead of time. If you like to support family owned businesses and reduce your environmental footprint by purchasing things second hand, this is the store for you!

We have been in this store a couple of times to sell our children's clothing. At first we were making $60-$80 each time. Now we have the same quality and brand name clothing and we only made about $20. I had a brand new pair of old navy shoes that were $30 still with price tag on them and we only made back $20 dollars with a bunch of clothes they took. They tell us are clothes are too worn but some of the clothes didnt even make it on my children because they grow way to quick. My husband got a look at what they were charging for each item we were bringing in and they triple the price to sell to customers and give you maybe 3% of that price. It's pretty dissapointing that you take all the time folding and washing putting it in a tote for them and they carelessly throw it back in there and tell you the same rhetoric that some of the clothes are worn and too old and half the time my clothes have been brand new. Think I'll stick to facebook marketplace.

The few times I have attended I have found what I was looking for and at a very great price. I attended one time and was referred to as "Scott's mom" one of the staff recognized me as the mother of one of her children classmates. They offer great selection and also offer gift ideas and wonderful new common necessities all parents need. I know when in need of items which the kids will out grow quickly this is the place to go. I contacted them for information regarding their other locations, the clerk said she didn't have the info on location of the store located in Stoney creek. My first time at this location, but I'm a regular in Stoney Creek. This store is huge by comparison, and there is lots of selection in every price range. Much like their other store, they almost always have something on sale too, today there were several aisles on clearance for $1.00, can't get much better than that price! Stuff here is always in good shape compared to some of the thrift stores, and while I've never sold anything to this location, I have in Stoney Creek and they are very fair with prices. Selective, understandably, but overall a good experience. Store is nicely laid out, sorted by size & item type and the staff are friendly and helpful if you need help and leave you to browse if not. Great store, highly recommend to anyone with kids constantly outgrowing their clothes! Wheelchair accessible entrance and fairly wide aisles accommodate strollers, walkers, wheelchairs etc.

Got 1/4 of the price that my items were worth in a “used” state, and my items were in excellent/brand new condition. Depending on the sales associate, my experience ranged from being treated courteously to being treated like a burden. One particular associate gave me the definite impression that she felt little respect for those bringing in items to sell. However, the associate who replaced her halfway through the process was very nice and considerate. I have to admit that accepting such a major loss on my items was a bit hard to swallow - but this was a last resort.

Sonya is really rude and negative. I asked by they would not buy something off me...out of curiousity. Since they ask if I have any questions. Very junky looking. Good value on sleepwear at five sleepers for $10 if you can find five half decent ones. Way too crowded with stuff and doesn't entice you to stay and browse. Came for a Christmas outfit which I got for $4.50 which was a good deal. Second visit here in nine months and still the same. Strollers, highchairs, jumparoos as well as baby gates, etc all jammed into a back corner you couldn't really even get into.

Lovely large store with plenty of parking right in front. Very large selection of lightly used clothing for children and babies. Plenty of high fashion little dresses for your precious little girls complete with leotards and dress shoes for those special occasions. Loads of little pants and tops for play and leisure and In winter there are warm cozy pyjamas for those cold winter Canadian nights. Little boys can find all of their favourite football , hockey, soccer, and softball shirts and pants. Coats, socks, shoes , and even some toys are available as well. This store supplies almost everything you could possibly need for your young children and babies at reasonable prices. What makes this store extremely special is that you can bring in the clothing that your children have grown out of and receive money for them. This gives you cash for whatever you want to buy. I brought a big bag of clothes my daughter either couldn't wear because she was too big or she only wore a few times for the same reason. All the clothes were in excellent condition. But when we went back a few hours later, they took all the best brands we had (GAP, Carters, Gymboree) and said most of the clothes were old, stained and full of holes. When they were all brand new! Not to mention the fact that every time I had gone up until that point, I had a lot of trouble finding clothes and toys for her that weren't older styles and brands I had never heard of. We then went to Value Village to drop off the remainder of the clothes and we were told that other people have had the same issue. I'll stick to Facebook groups from now on.

Very unprofessional and rude. After hearing the so called "key holder" "Crystal" call my wife rude/inconsiderate because we couldn't take all the stuff back in one trip I had to take the phone and speak to her myself. We have dealt with them several times and have never had an issue. I look forward to speaking to a Manager on Monday as I don't appreciate anyone addressing my wife like or myself in her tone/manner. Wonderful place for buying anything your child(ren) needs/wants. I can easily find a million things for my girls as the store is pretty well organized. Unfortunately I had a recent disappointing experience selling a new in box Onya carrier. I made the trek up and upon placing it on the counter, it was hummed and hawed over it before I was ultimately informed that although they wish they could purchase it, however they cannot at this time as they have too many carriers and are even debating on having a sale on them. There is of course a fine line between being inundated with things and having too little, which I do understand but I didn’t understand why it was a hard no at the time. I originally left a different and more vague review, but I am editing my original as I have spoken to the owner to discuss the incident. After a very open and courteous dialogue, I was informed that they do not have a policy as such and there’s no rulebook that their associates need to follow, but rather to use their heart and head in such matters. The Scarborough OUAC staff was very friendly and polite about the decline of course, but it was the first time a big item (unlike clothes, toys and shoes) was rejected at the buy counter. Nira, who was the associate I spoke to that day is still one of our favourites despite the sour experience. Although I took the carrier and infant insert to another OUAC where they purchased it from me, the owner at Scarborough OUAC has since gone above and beyond in righting the wrong that initially took place.

I went today around 4 o'clock. I didn't find good clothes, shoes and toys. The toys section was a mess. Some prices were higher than I expected but the most disappointing thing was when I was paying the girls working there weren't friendly with the customers. The owner should know the employees are not doing a good job.

Not impressed with processing/management - not honest or trustworthy. I called at 4:15 pm to make sure I didnt need to make an appointment and that the counter was open when I dropped off clothes. I was told the counter was open until 6 pm. When I arrived 35 min later (after finding child care & dealing with rush hour traffic), I was told they decided to close the counter 10 minutes ago (before 5 pm). If you are dropping off clothes go early morning and hope they will accept them.

I sold a few things here awhile ago and they pay roughly 25% of retail price and don't take the less mainstream brands like Jujube. Have been to this location for the last 3 years. No idea if they switched management but I have spent hours washing and going through every piece of item to make sure of no wear and tear and removed any items that had stains. Puma, Jordan and Nike, TH and a lot of nice clothing. I dropped off a large amount and recieved a call back 5 minutes later saying there was an udor which is not possible they were just washed. My husband went back to get the clothes and smelt it infront of the ladies and gentlemen that just took over the shift and they had said there was no smell and they would go through it again, it was all neatly folded as I had left it, like they never touched any of it. Got another call 20 minutes later saying they went threw it and to come in. We went in the next morning and the clothes were not neatly put back, but if they went through it yesterday and it was put back neatly why is it not now? Did they not go threw it yesterday and lied about it or did they just toss the clothes around this time to make it look like they had? They took only a couple pieces of clothing and told me everything else was worn and out of date...the clothes they took came from the top of one container, I know because I put it together. They wasted hours of my time and they lie to their customers. Do not recommend this location for donations/trades. Very disappointed, any company that lies to their customers is disappointing. They make purchasing clothes an awesome experience but not when people are donating.

I went to the line where I dropped my items off and they sent me to the line up where you pay. I was in that line for a good 10 min when 2 gentlemen came in and went to the drop off spot as I did, they received their cash and items back that they didn't buy. So, here I am, still waiting in line, I walked over and asked if I was in the right line, mentioned I've been waiting almost 10 min and I got a dirty look, like I was in the wrong. They have a very good and diverse selection of items, and the items are well organised. Their method of buying your gently used baby items is hassle free, unlike other locations where their staff belittles you. I have shopped there often and it's very cluttered but you can find some great deals on used clothing. Usually good quality. Today was my first time selling there. I called in advance as I was unaware of the process. They explained it was first come first serve (sorting and giving you a price) and I could come in between their business hours etc... I mentioned I had 3 very large boxes. I spent the entire morning cleaning out the kids closets and prepping for my trip. I was told it would be an hour when I got there. They took some toys and basically 1/4 of the clothes. I was told they were not season appropriate and I get it but I would have appreciated knowing that they were only looking for spring clothes before all the effort I made to get there. I got next to nothing for what they did take.

I"ve been here a few times already, SO happy that one finally opened up in Scarborough - beats having to drive to Ajax (closest to me). The staff here are really nice, the aisles are easy to navigate, it's clean and bright and the parking is great. The (baby) boys selection is great, but for older girls (10yo) it's a hit or miss - not enough selection. Regardless I usually leave with something.

I came here for puppy gear in February. We are getting a puppy and it was suggested to us that we come to once upon a child to pick up some baby gates and chew toys. What chaos! Aisle upon aisle jammed to the ceiling with mostly clothing. Large toys loomed from the tops of shelves. Everywhere customers were squeezing past one another, all the while trying to not trip over children or products strewn across the floor. I got exactly what I came for at a decent price. Baby gates looked new but I plan to wash the toys before I give them to my dog. The staff were neither friendly not helpful. I can only imagine how stressful it is to work in a place so busy and disorganized.

Try to sell your gently used items elsewhere. I had 13 items and got $19 and change. A lot were sweaters....good brands. Nike. Children's Place. Old Navy. Not sure if another location can offer better? Ajax maybe? My first time today and will be my last. I will just sell on kijiji and other used clothing groups on facebook. I have made better $ doing that. On the plus side....staff were not rude. They were great and quite helpful! The ONE star is for the staff.

Great place to bring back quality clothes toys etc. Priced to help with the costs of having children. They bought 38 items from us and we got back $20. So don't expect to get back lots of money. If the items you sell can help another baby then let that be your reward. Great staff and clean store

I have shopped to at least 6 different OUAC locations and this one is BY FAR my favourite. The staff are very kind and eager to help. They are also always very apologetic when something you're selling to them doesn't meet their standards. I always feel welcome and as young as my daughter is, I think she thrives with the general positivity of the store as well. They have great deals all of the time which is a plus for a frugal mama like me. Stay awesome. ❤️❤️❤️

If i could give a zero star i would had trouble take name brand clothes and they wont take them then today i think hey lets take toys sure to take them they work and never played with sat on a bed most times took like 7 different fur real friends had to wait 2 hours for them to even look just to say no thanks said id never take clothes there again now i will never take toys there again oh and put on kijiji and sold for what i wanted in under an hour waist my time waist my gas will never go back will never tell anyone about them or to shop there thats for sure oh and when they do take your stuff you get next to nothing might as well just dropped it off and give it to them hell then you would not have to wait 2 hours for nothing need a whole new staff and need a bigger store for its way too small for all you got there

Great location. Always find what I'm looking for and the stuff is always in great condition. They are pretty picky in what they buy but that's what makes it so great because you will always buy good stuff from them, and they always give you tips for next time and will explain why they didnt buy certain things from you. They always have deals on which is awesome and they keep up with their social media which helps to know about cool new items. The staff is always so welcoming, friendly, and helpful!

Awesome experience! During quarantine they offer doing $50 bundles for whatever size and gender you need. The choices were great, and it even came with a book, which looks like it's in brand new condition ♥️. Very happy customer! We'll be going back again for sure.

This is a wonderful community store. What's not to love about a place you can get money for your previously loved kids' items and then turn around and buy amazing items for 1/3 the price they are brand new. Staff are wonderful. They always say hello when I come in and they take the time to explain the selling process and why some of my items weren't purchased. Store is clean, organized, and easy to shop!

Once Upon A Child is a great store to offload unwanted kids clothing and toys. Although they give you less than half of what they would sell it at, its still decent value considering alot would end up going to your local thrift shop. They do not take any items if missing parts or has crayon/marker on it which we found quite odd as many items they have in the store are broken or discolored. Nonetheless we wouldn't mind visiting them again to get some items that may be overpriced elsewhere.

They say they don't accept older styles but going through the racks you can see patterns on jammies that my 7 year old wore... When he was a toddler! Would much rather donate clothes to charity then waste time going here. Clothes for purchase are getting more expensive as well. If you hunt around the malls, you'll find brand new clothes for cheaper

If I could leave ZERO stars I gladly would!!!! I’m not sure if it was the manager or not, I’m assuming it was, because if my staff spoke to ANYONE the way she did, she would be fired quicker than you could say the word!!!! She was giving more attitude than I can even describe to a Gentleman who volunteers and was there to pick up something from their store.... I felt so bad for the Gentleman, HE VOLUNTEERS FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!! I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop on their conversation, however; it was hard to ignore...in all honesty because of that fact, unfortunately I will not return. I don’t want to support a store that treats people so badly.... I can only imagine the way she speaks to her staff if that’s the way she speaks to a VOLUNTEER!!!!

If I could give a zero I would. Today we brought a bunch of baby boy clothes in...it was all washed and folded, very clean, they made us wait over an hour then said it had dog hair on it and it was dirty they couldn't accept it because of allergies...so we went through it as soon as we picked it up and we couldn't find any dog hair or dirt on the clothes. I'm guessing it was just lazy people working that didnt want to sort through the clothes. My suggestion dont waste your time going there to drop off clothes!

Only giving it 2 stars because I am from the GTA and these stores are very popular out my way. I went to check it out today while visiting and was very disappointed with the toy section. OUAC is not suppose to buy broken toys or toys with missing pieces and that is all they had. Clearly the staff are not properly checking items that are brought in. With value village being right next door I think they need to lower their prices as well. Remember, it’s used stuff. And considering most of the toys were broken how dare they be asking $25 plus for certain items! You can buy brand new toys from toys r us on sale for cheaper than what they are charging! Know your prices! The Windsor stores prices are ridiculous compared to the GTA which does not make sense. The store also stinks very badly of the overuse of perfumes/cheap air fresheners. Since this store is new the clothing looked quite decent and was neatly hung however I did not look at their prices. Definitely won’t be back to this location.

I entered this store for the first time yesterday. Part one: I was SHOCKED by how expensive everything was! For those prices, people might as well buy brand new! For instance, there was a baby carrier that I know is listed on Walmart.ca for $49.99 brand new. It was $45 USED at this store. Considering competitors mark items significantly cheaper (heck, Value Village sells baby clothes for $10 per filled bag)... and Marketplace/ Kijiji can be used... I would not return. Part two: Do not waste your time if you are expecting to find reusable diapers in a baby goods store.... because I was told they don't 'accept things like that.' Part three: I was surprised to be told that 'everything was 90% off unless it has a blue or green tag!' I walked around and noticed that almost every single thing had those two tag colours. I noticed alot of new items that had yellow and white tags, and I confirmed my presumption: that they, too, were not included in the sale. This "sale" is great if you found an item you liked, but I ended up deciding to purchase nothing because I found their sale announcement to be false advertising and scammy. Overall, I was beyond disappointed and will not be a customer of theirs.

I never knew a store like this existed until a friend of mine told me about the one in her neighbourhood. I am lucky to have had my first experience at Once Upon A Child Scarborough because the customer service I received was so energetic and bubbly. The shopping experience puts you in a great mood and they explained their buying policy very well. I am looking forward to selling in the future and I don't think I need to visit any other stores because of the great service I got at this location. Don't forget the awesome throwback jams I walked into, it's hard not to dance and shop!

Love the scarborough location! When I had my daughter and she was literally days old - I walked in there looking for a whole bunch of sleepers because she was so tiny. Someone who worked there- literally helped me look through all the onesies and sleepers and gave me stuff which would fit her. Honestly, I will never forget that bit of kindness.

My sister's and I enjoyed our girls weekend in Windsor, Ontario! We always shop a little.. Once Upon A Child - Windsor has a very nice selection of gently used clothes for boys and girls. Decent selection, friendly staff. You will find some of the clothes are over priced for their quality. We also had issues with checking out as the cashiers took ten mins (with a full store) to open a third till. The check out process is painfully slow and inefficient. You wait longer for the receipt than paying for your items.

I find this location really chaotic in comparison to the others. The place consistently looks like it's been ransacked. Sale items are mixed in with regular priced items and are hard to find. They've also started using bins for onesies, making them horribly difficult to go through. I prefer the Stoney Creek location. The cleanliness and organization there make it worth the drive.

I walked in and said hi to the 2 ladies standing there looking right at me and didn’t respond. I made direct eye contact with one and said hi again and she just stared at me and didn’t respond. I typically frequent this location, buying and selling items, and until now I had no reason to question Once Upon a Child's professionalism and corporate ethics. Today I went to purchase two exact pairs of pants, one was priced at $4.00 and the other at $6.00. I was confused as to why I would have to pay two different prices for the exact same product, and an employee named Erica explained to me that when pricing items, it is at the discretion of that employee at the time to list a higher or lower price on brands that aren't in the system. While I completely understand that the system isn't perfect, I tried to explain to Erica that this creates confusion, and requested that I be charged only $4.00 for each pair as that was the lowest price advertised. She declined my request, citing that none of their staff members can retroactively price or correct any pricing errors. She continued to say, "it's only a difference of $2.00." I am a sole-support parent of a young child, and I am also a law student. I work a minimum wage customer service job while attempting to manage full-time school and full-time parenting. This comment was gravely insulting as $2.00 is the difference between buying bread that week or not, or being able to purchase a bus ticket to be able to travel to/from work/school/child care. There is a reason why I shop at discount clothing stores, and that reason is because I live on a budget and clothing prices matter, regardless of how insignificant they seem to an ignorant staff member. If $2.00 didn't matter, then I would surely shop at Wal-Mart and Giant Tiger to get new clothes for just a few dollars more and better customer service. Without a doubt, if Wal-Mart had two identical pairs of pants with differing prices on the tags, an employee would honor the lower price. This is ethical and professional business practices, regardless of if it is a discount clothing store or a big box retailer.

For selling items, this place is a rip off. Stick to selling your items on kijiji. Sold them 4 items, and got $15. If i spent a little time on kijiji, probably could have got $15 for on of the bigger items, and sold the rest for much more than what they gave. I love everything about this location. Its always been super clean, the staff are fantastic, and the prices are more than reasonable. 2 years ago I bought my daughters stroller here and it's still in good condition despite being 2nd hand, I feel like this location is more picky about what they buy than other locations and I really appreciate that because it doesn't feel like you're buying used things. It was empty when we got there but became crowded quickly; lots of parents looking for bargains! They have so many things, sometimes it's hard to find what you're looking for. For example, they have bins for shoes organized by sizes, but you may need to bring them down and sit on the floor and go through all the shoes to find what you're looking for. Mostly clothes, second toys. They have some brand new things too, in terms of toys or activities, but too expensive. You can buy for same price or cheaper at other stores. Friendly staff and some good deals. Bought 10 books for $10 - a steal!

I’m glad I am not the only one whom has noticed the atrocious pricing. Not only the pricing, but the fact the racks are far too packed- making it extremely difficult to pick through, maneuver through, and the racks seems to have some pretty worn out junk in them. Also, The shoe bins are down right disgusting. I used to love shopping here for my 4 kids, but the last 3/4 trips have been extremely disappointing due to the selection, cost, and quite frankly the staff has gotten extremely rude. We won’t be returning.

Not entirely comfortable me to to see staff wearing a mouth shield facing up instead of a mask... For a childrens store there are lots of unmasked children (under 2 year old), and it feels too great of an exposure and potential transmission.

I like shopping at this store especially during one of their big sales! I bring items into the store every once in a while and usually end up getting a little more than I was expecting. For the other people complaining about what they have been offered you need to realize they try to sell the items they carry at reasonable prices and still make enough money to cover their operating costs. I always think of it this way...if I have an item I think they will sell for $10 they will probably offer me anywhere from $2-$3 for it. Make sure to bring your items in clean and organized by size and outfits. They appreciate having an easy time sorting though items.

I don't shop this OUAC as much for clothes. I've brought clothes - tag off, never worn - and been told they were too worn. I've been told shoes worns less than a dozen times are too worn, yet seen shoes with staining and distress. It's inconsistent, and I find the clothes overpriced compared to the OUAC I shop in Burlington. I've taken the same clothes from this store, refused, and had other OUAC buy them all and thank me for their great condition. Shop from? More likely to do that than to ever try to sell here.

"Once Upon a Child"? More like Once Upon a Nightmare! The staff there are the rudest bunch of cows I have ever had to deal with in my entire life. They claimed my Ingenuity swing was breaking yet there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. When we brought it home (along with most of the stuff we brought up there, coincidentally) we noticed our new batteries were missing from the swing. I called and they told me I could come up and pick them back up. HA like I would ever step foot into that nightmare store ever again. Seller beware, they take your most expensive clothes and give you peanuts for it! If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Went to sell some children's clothing, very nice people that work here. They are very informative and clear. They carry a well stocked store and accept select items and sizes at specific times so call ahead if your looking to sell. If your looking for a bargain head in as well they are good in their selections. Overall a good experience.

Worst store ever for bringing in your child's items to sell. My experience was at the London white oaks/Wellington store. I went yesterday with a ton of clothes all freshly washed pre hand and was told I'd get a text when they sorted through it. 2 ladies behind the counter were a tad ignorant and lacked social politeness but I didn't let it bug me. So I left but got a text message back within 10 mins or so. Came back into the store to find out they only wanted 6 items out of the 100s of items I brought in and they wouldn't show me what they took and offered me $6.10. They said they did not accept any clothing under 24 months old and that the clothes needed a wash? No way because I washed everything 2 nights before. Anyways I can tell they didn't bother going through my child's stuff really because my bags looked the exact same as they did when I packed them and noticed they only took a couple named brand items to which one Nike suit that was a childs 18 month old size! Purely contradicting there claim that they only take 24 months and higher! They seem to just look to scam and give the least amount possible to re sell for probably 10 times the cost. I was frustrated especially because I lugged all this stuff down to them and they wanted 5 or 6 things, but likely didn't look at most of it. I said just take it then and gave the rest of the stuff to goodwill for free, like I usually do. I only wanted to try this method this time to actually get some money back, I paid alot for all that stuff new! Nothing was stained in my items and everything looked close to new. Don't get scammed people because that's what they're looking to try and do to you! I used to shop there many many times before i ever tried to sell to them so they lost a valued customer. I'm never going back!

I visited this branch today(09/19/2020) at 4:45pm and the lady standing in the main entrance was very disrespectfull! She was standing in the middle of the entrance while we were waiting her to move so that we could get in ..She was so ignorant and she threw the dirty tissue that she used to clean the chart to the table where we were sanitizing our hands she should be the last person welcoming customers to the store .. This was so disgusting !! Seriously disgusting !

I came in here today (Aug 16) to buy a smaller stroller for my almost two year old. They were asking $129 for one of them which is insane to me! Then I found a couple of umbrella strollers so I thought oh nice I found some cheaper ones. They wanted $50 for 1 stroller, that is simply outrages considering you’re a USED items baby store. I decided to go to Walmart (and thank god I did) across the street and found the exact red umbrella stroller they were selling for $50 for $23 instead. You guys need to bring down your prices on some of your items it’s ridiculous. I don’t understand how you can charge literally double the asking price for a used item! You guys are also lacking some customer service skills, I’ve found on numerous ovations that a lot of the older ladies in there like to bad mouth some of the customers when their backs are turned or gossip about people they know. That’s pretty disgusting customer service.

They have a huge collection of baby clothes and accessories. I love shopping here, I always get something cute for my baby . Only issue is that they are very picky of the clothes they buy when you’re trying to sell to them . But then again they will still speak to you so sweetly and tell you why they can’t buy certain stuff .

Love going in and picking up new toys...unfortunately lately I'm becoming frustrated with the placement of the price stickers. They are hard to remove and usually leave a mark on the toy. I can always find great deals on clothes from here at a fraction of the cost it would be in the actual store. Lots of variety as well in clothes, toys, accessories, and books. It's like a value village for kids and it's so worth it if you've got the time to search through the racks. The clothes are also separated into the different colours for the most part which is super helpful ????

Sold some clothes of my sons there a few years back most where like new not all name brand they where very picky and the amount they paid didn't even cover the expense to get to the store! I have bought clothing there that was "outdated" as they said they take stuff that is current and some stained clothing! Toys are also priced a little higher and what we did buy because it wasn't worth an argument with a one yr old at the time was mere dollars less than new! ($3) to be exact they are well over priced for things previously used and like someone else said not very friendly! We no longer visit the store just due to the fact that they seem annoyed by having people in the store.....in my opinion they want stuff free and prefer to not be bothered by moms or dads etc trying to clothe there children and foot wear was well used and scuffed in my sons sizes! This store would be better off closing for all the headache it is to shop or sell there....

I look forward to the announcement on Facebook! They aren't open to buy yet, but I did take some items there to sell. The staff were great, very friendly and greeted me right away. There were a couple of items that were against their policy to take like baby bottles, and they were very polite as they explained to me why. They were too busy at the time to process or price all my items, so I had to come back another day after they were done. When I came back they priced my items very fairly and the deal was made. The transaction was quick and easy and they paid me cash.

I am writing to you, to let you know how appalled I am at the St.Catharines Stores customer serice (lack there of) I was in and saw multiple signs advertising a flash sale of 20 sleepers for 10$ for 18 months and under. When I came to check out the cashier said that wasn't the sale, I brought up the signs. Another employee brought the sign to the manager who told me that it was a "typo" and couldn't honour it. Ive worked in retail for 10 years and we have ALWAYS been told even if the product or the sign is wrong, we have to honour what it says. All I got was a rude "sorry, its a typo" and wow 5$ coupon.

I buy most of my girls clothing here. Can usually get some pretty good deals if you shop smart. However I find they do not buy much when you try to sell. They reject a lot of new with tags and barely worn name brand clothing. You are better to sell independently, but this works in a pinch for some extra cash. The store is usually busy and not very stroller friendly.

The clothing here is in great condition, I was surprised it was actually but it’s really top quality for great prices. When it comes to young children, they grow so quickly the last thing I want to do is to be buying clothes every few months, but since I discovered once upon a child that burden has been lessened as I can just return what I bought last time and use that towards anything new I need.

Very rude staff member and manager. Staff member directing customers in a condescending/ignorant manor. She should not be working in customer service with her poor attitude. Manager told me I was wrong when I told her how rude her employee was and made excuses that she was having a bad day. If she was aware then maybe actual manage and move her to a less customer facing activity or send her home. Poor customer service all around. I will not return simply because of these two individuals.

I found that the staff were quite rude and made me feel like I was a bother for asking questions and not having been there before and thus not immediately knowing what the process is. I was very disappointed and don't plan on coming back to this location as it was a negative experience. Ironically, there was a sign on the building that says something like, "Do you like kids?! We're hiring!"...meanwhile I didn't see a single staff member smile throughout the entire half hour that I was there. I get that it's a busy week with school starting, but that doesn't justify the clique of women standing behind the counter ignoring customers and being snippy.

FINALLY!!! OUAC is finally in Scarborough and wow. Walked in and I was impressed with cleanliness and organization. As a mama, I loved the nice wide aisles that can accommodate a stroller which can be a headache in some stores. The shelves were super stocked and the prices were great. Honestly I have nothing but great things to say about Once Upon a Child I think the concept behind it is just fantastic. Honestly to get name brand clothing for your children who are going to grow out of it sometimes within months as kids grow so quickly it's really nice to have a store like this. I was just at the one in st cathrines. Brought in 300 dollars worth of products, all in excellent condition. They offered me fifty dollars for it all. This included a excersaucer which was new never used, baby monitors bran new in box, jolley jumper used once. Baby swing, walking toy, play pen which they refused cause it had an odor which is hilarious cause it was all stored in a room together. Yet that one smelled. Clothes they refused all in excellent condition and we're very rude about it when I asked any they didn't want it. Also a vibrating chair. All in all they are scmers and ripe people off. I can't believe the prices they sell things for as oppesed to what they pay.. They should not beaking more of a profit then me. So for anyone thinking of selling there baby stuff don't go there there idiots

This place is fantastic! Offers gently used kids items at great prices., and the staff were super friendly and helpful. There was a great selection of clothing in all the sizes I was looking for and I loved that I could shop different brands all in one place. The store was organized really well by size and gender & also had separate departments for books, toys, shoes, dance, coats, swim, maternity & baby equipment. I not only got some great deals on some clothing my kids needed, but I stocked up on some awesome books for summer reading. Great prices on books! ($1.50-3.50 for most books.) I highly recommend this store to everyone I know with kids ... you can save a bundle by buying second hand and this store has it all; great selection, great prices, very organized for easy shopping, friendly, helpful staff. I have a hard time understanding when people gripe about the store not buying ALL of their items...I for one am glad that they only buy things in great condition.. because it means that the items they have to sell are in great condition! Every time I am in this store I am so impressed by how hardworking the staff are...they never stop moving & there is a positive, happy buzz to the place. It reminds me of a beehive where every worker has his/her role & everyone is working so hard to keep the whole thing going! I love Once Upon a Child & especially this location. I love what they do & what they offer the families of St. Catharines. Keep up the great work.

Great place to stock up on clothes fairly cheap, but you have to watch prices and quality - I regularly find stained or holey clothing, but find good pieces too. Do not recommend selling to them though, they don't really go through the stuff and turn away a lot of quality stuff despite stocking store with questionable stuff. Frustrating and a waste of time.

So far this looks like the nicest looking ouac I have been to & their pricing seems reasonable. They are not open to sell yet, but I dropped in to have a look around. The staff are friendly & they seem to choose the best quality items for their store. Which is super helpful for me as a customer. The items are placed nicely & all visible. We have taken in clothing to OUAC and was received more $$ than expected and was very happy with that. Today is a whole other story, this with big toys I honestly believe we were ripped of. My belief is if I wouldn't buy it used then I wouldn't sell or donate it. I walked out with 3 items they didnt want being told there were missing pieces - no they were all there and the items were too used. My granddaughter hardly used these toys and 1 of them was purchased at OUAC less than a year ago and she played with it maybe 3 times? How does that work. In the end I was offered $21 plus change which averaged out to about $5.37 a piece. One of those items alone cost $60 brand new and wasn't even a year old. As my daughter said we will not be shopping or bringing in anything there again!!

The staff is very nice at this location. I was there to sell two days in a row. One day I brought in my son's clothes and the next day I brought in toys. I was struck in heavy traffic that took me 45 minutes to get there. They close at 5pm on a Sunday. The gentleman accommodate me by letting me pick up my stuff after hours (30 minutes after 5pm I got there). Super clean place to buy. Definitely recommend this location. The staff took their time to clean and organize stuff after closing. 5 stars for customer satisfaction and the set up of the store.
