Had a bad experience. Went to pick up an order placed online, and only one person in the store could help me with it. It took 10 minutes for that person (manager?) to come out. That person had discernable BO, which further made the experience unpleasant. I will order from Amazon from now on.

We got our stuff here for our first dog and most the stuff was a great deal. Today I went and needed to buy a brush but didn't know what kind and the groomers actually stopped grooming to show me the brushes I need and explain it. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I absolutely adore PetSmart as a company but this location is by far the absolute worst!!!! It has gone so far downhill in the past year it's unreal. The staff are useless and could care less about the pets or their store. They aren't even familiar with half of the products they sell. The bathroom is absolutely DISGUSTING and even after several complaints, they refuse to clean it. Poor poor management!!!! Will not be spending another dollar at this place :)

This store is definitely stocked full of food, treats and accessories for your dogs and cats. The prices are very competitive and tend to be on the lower end. They also have lots of weekly specials. Unfortunately their selections for small animals is fairly limited. Luckily they have good prices and bulk sizes for hay.

The PetSmart folks and, in particular, the grooming staff were very accommodating for our MinPin (Dawson). We are up from Texas and after a 4000km drive plus the 14 day COVID-19 isolation, time slipped by and our little guy needed his nails trimmed badly. We called, made an appointment, and Dawson was looked after by a very caring and professional team. Thanks y’all! ????????

Horrible place to take your pet. We took our Bulldog in for a bath and brush out with ear cleaning. We get him and he doesn’t look any different from when we dropped him off and his ears were filthy. Upon further inspection he wasn’t even bathed properly and charging us almost $90.00 for nothing. We did get the manager involved as this was unacceptable. He was very kind and did not charge us and apologized. This was our second time taking our dog there as the first time was a bit better. Anyway this place is a big scam beware as they don’t do what they charge you for. We have now taken our business to Dogtopia where you can see what the groomers are doing and it cost us half the price to have the same service as Pet Smart offers. I highly recommend them.

I have to shop here because it is the only store in my area that sells the products I need, but the staff are quiet rude, give contradicting information that differs from one person to the next and have been straight up refused assistance once. Went in to buy a temporary birdcage for a cockatiel. They had a decent selection but the prices were all over the map, like $35 for one and $130 for another that was nearly identical. Asked a friendly sales associate for advice but they didn't really seem to know anything, just what was written on the front of the box (understandable, an 18 year old isn't going to have a working knowledge of all types and breeds of pet). Well, I bought a cage, which is a good home for the bird and was on sale for a decent price, but when I got home and opened the box, there was dried bird poop on one of the perches, and the cage had obviously been assembled once already. It was too far to go back to the store, and I needed a cage, so I cleaned it instead of returning it. Pretty disgusting though. Obviously when talking returns, the staff doesn't even look at the product, just puts it back on the shelf.

We take our dog here for baths, nail trims, tooth brushing, and ear cleaning. Our dog is scared of pretty much all those things as he was wild and is not accustomed to this treatment, but the groomers take great care to make sure he's comfortable and they go slowly to avoid scaring him with the inevitable shower head and blow dryer. I notice he has actually calmed down a bit when I do a bath at home ever since he started going here. I trust the groomers and I will continue to take him here as the service has always been excellent. After each appointment, you get a report card detailing how it went and exactly what kinds of services were provided to your pup. The service takes about 2-3 hours, so I find it convenient to drop him off here for an appointment then head to the nearby mall or grocery stores to finish all my errands at once.

I have been using the Petsmart pet saloon. Because I have just needed to groom them every 4 to 5 months each time. My cats used to come hurted with their niples red from the machine blades. I have understood evry time,because they explain, that cats are impantient and move lots. Although on the last visit (May 28th, 2013) on the Petsmart across from the Chinook Center Mall my two cats got back home with flea. I called them to explain that my cats never leave home other than go to their saloon, but talking with one of their employees and the manager on duty I got an impression that they really care about their clients nethier the pets, which they groom. They explicite that they' ve never gotten one single case of flea on their clinic. Sounds very impressive, but anyways. If one day your pets needs to be groomed don't bring over there. Are there big chances that your pet is going to get hurt or infected by something. By the way, I just read a yahoo review about a dog, which dies on their saloon.

I like to come here and check out their bettas. They seem to have the most diverse selection. I am a bit of a fanatic and ended up recommending products to a woman who was buying a new fish. I didn't mean to step in but after the staff member thanked me and seemed open to my opinion. Very mature for a young person and also helpful and friendly. I love that they have a board advising proper care for bettas. I actually finally caved and went back later to buy one. I tested the water in his cup when I got home and it was pretty good. Someone there is taking good care of the fish, as much as one can for a betta in a cup. Great experience for me. My new fish is BEAUTIFUL and rather enjoying his filtered, heated and naturally planted 5 gallon tank. Thank you!

Poor service from the grooming salon: we booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance, the earliest we could get. Dropped our 5 month, 5 lb Morkie off at 530pm and we're told the grooming could take 2-4 hours! Seriously petsmart? You couldn't have informed me of the wait period ahead of time? Not even a reminder email or phone call. When I called the head office to complain I was informed that I would be contacted in 3-5 business days about how the company was going to "address" my complaint. The beauracracy is ludicrous, if not downright painful. The rest of the store is basic, like any other bulk warehouse. Would recommend the puppy training at this location though: the trainer really knows her stuff.

I have been in several times with my puppy for training with Tony! Tony is fantastic with puppy training. I do highly recommend him. As for the rest of the store, I wasn’t pleased at all. I couldn’t find anybody in the fish department to get me some fish. The tanks were covered with brown algae. Some of the fish are labeled wrong for the max size. And the few times I have gotten an associate it was as if I was interrupting their social time with other store associates. And made me feel like I was inconveniencing them with needing assistance or answering questions. I will not be returning unless I get another puppy and need to take it for Tony’s classes.

Brought my dog here for full groom today. Paid more than $100 only to be left with uneven haircut and stubby hair not soft, it looks and feels rushed. My dog did not even smell great after. For a $100? The least you can do is make my dog smell great. The employee seem to have some racial thing too, she carried the small dog with both her arms (owner is white) however when it was my dog, ( who is the same size) she was just dragging it like a luggage. Will no longer use the grooming section.

I visited the store around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. It was not busy at all. I counted three employees in the store, There may have been others. I was there to buy some aquarium fish. One employee was speaking with a family in an aisle near the aquariums. I excused myself as I passed them in the aisle. After finding the fish I wanted to purchase I waited, then I looked for someone to assist me. I did stand at the end of the aisle where the employee was talking with the family/other customers . The employee was facing me and had to see me waiting there. After a minute or two I walked around to the other end of the aisle, near to where the employee was finishing up her conversation with the other customers. Again, she definitely saw me waiting. She finished up with the customer then turned and walked away, in the opposite direction from me. I was surprised but started to follow her and was about to speak when she began a conversation with another employee, a cashier I believe. I’m sure that they both saw me. And I’m pretty sure they weren’t talking store business. The first employee was now walking backwards, facing me where I was standing waiting for some attention. Again the employees’ conversation continued and I was ignored. I made a gesture of disbelief then turned and proceeded to leave the store. Again there was opportunity but still no one asked if I needed some assistance. For a new store, opening during a pandemic, and one might assume trying to establish a customer base, this was a complete failure. Fortunately there is another pet store just across the street behind Petsmart. That store actually appreciates and serves its customers and will always have my business. I will not visit Petsmart again, and will share this experience with friends and family. Murray McLeod

Their grooming services were disappointing. I called and asked for my puppy to have a trim. Got told that they could try a full cut. Then felt like I was being "managed" for having my dog booked in for a full cut and told she needed more trims before she was ready for a cut....which is what I wanted in the first place. She was also less trimmed than the previous time and nails were not finished. Very disappointed.

I think this place is a bit of a rip off. I go to PetSmart only because they close late and I go there if I am in desperate need of supplies for my pets. The last time I was there I purchased a cat toy for $8. Both my cats didn't even like it and preferred the $2 toy from Dollarama. ???? Cheap cats or maybe just not all that cost a lot is good. Also the mark ups are just higher at PetSmart compared to other places. For an organisation with great buying power, please have better promos for goodness sakes. At least that would give shoppers a reason to return to the store for in store promotions... I go to Co-Op for pet food sometimes because they have some pretty good deals happening now and then.

We received terrible customer service from one of your employees, which is unfortunate because many others who work here are great to deal with, especially Tim. We purchased a 15-gallon column tank that was the last of its kind to replace our leaking tank at home. When we got it home we noticed it had glue on one side that was covering a small crack. We returned a few hours later to get our money back and were told there was no crack that it was just glue and that we were being picky. The woman at the store was very demeaning and rude. She refused to even properly examine the crack and asked whether it was the one that was previously opened. My guess is she knew full well this tank was defective. She definitely knew after we returned it and she proceeded to put it back on the shelf. I feel sorry for the person who buys it. We asked politely three times to have our money refunded. We eventually lost patience and demanded we weren't leaving until another employee stepped in and gave us our money back. I contacted PetSmart Canada through their Facebook page and on Twitter and received NO response, other than to ask for my contact information. As someone who loves spoiling her pets, I will not be shopping at your store anymore.

I shopped here, and also had the Alpine pet hospital next door as my go to vet for my pets for years now honestly ????(hurts saying years) and it was honestly embarrassing. Great new petsmart location. They are always busy since they opened. In the back they trim nails and bathe dogs. They also have a U-wash for doga. Bring your own puppy and give them a rinse. My family loved to come and look at what kittens they have for adoption. If you are looking for a pet, I would highly recommend adopting a kitten.

Grooming (not a review of petsmart in general) - we've always loved taking our 11 month old golden retriever to this pet smart. He's been in their training and grooming. We've recommended both to anyone friend/acquaintance with a dog. Today was a completely different story. I booked online for a groom today. He's always been pretty shy but in the past has been great with all the friendly employees at petsmart so I always felt comfortable bringing him. We were told we could pick him up in 2 hours. We come 2 hours 10 minutes later, and one of the employees says 'he'll be 20 more minutes, it's just crazy today' .. okay, not the end of the world, but weird that we didn't see him getting groomed, so he must be in a kennel. We get a call 40 minutes later to pick him up, quite a bit longer, but it's a Sunday and busy, so okay ... when I showed up it was obviously busy, but they handed me the bill immediately, so my partner went out to pay. And then I waited for them to bring out my dog ... waited while the employees chatted ... waited as they shifted responsibility to other employees to get him ... waited as they gave other owners their pets back and thanking them for their business ... waiting. Then someone finally went to go get him. Then I hear 'there's a dog on the loose back there', no mention it was my dog or not .. then kept waiting ... eventually my dog came out, obviously scared, obviously very thirsty and choking on their noose that they put them in. I put my dog in his harness, and the employee started talking to another customer, all while my dog is still choking in the now very tight noose. Then we leave. No thanks for your business, no sorry that it was an hour over time or for not getting my dog when I arrived. It was clear he hadn't been given water the entire 3 hours as his mouth was bone dry with dried saliva on the sides. As for the groom, not the best work, he didn't get one of their complimentary bandanas and he still had knots behind his ears. In conclusion, don't take your dog here, especially if they're a bit scared to begin with. It's obviously that petsmart is using a quantity over quality mentality or they wouldn't take in so many dogs despite the appointment structure, it's obviously they are not considerate of dogs or time commitments. And now it's obvious, that we will no longer be back or recommend them again.

I'm very disappointed with the curbside pick up at the St. Thomas location. I've tried to pick my order up twice since I ordered it on Nov 22 and each time when I use the APP to say "I'm here" no one brings the order out. After waiting 10 minutes I then call the number and the associate cannot locate my name. When I offer my order confirmation number I'm told they don't need it. Each time I leave frustrated and ask for the order to be cancelled but am told to call the store directly...will be looking for another pet food supplier.

A trip just for feeders made worst by Celeste from the fish department. She got no customer service at all!!! We asked for some feeders and she got the bigger ones insted of the smaller one. Been shopping here, probably since they opened. Never really been a fan but they usually had what I needed so all was good. Today received what I would have to say is not bad service, it was downright insulting. I do not need your employee telling me that I am a derelict fish owner and have stunted my fish's growth, and therefore wouldn't sell me what came in to buy. They have lived for almost 15 years a healthy life; not bad for little goldfish I would say.... Just so you are aware, I do have a small menagerie of pets (20+ if you count all the fish I "abuse"), decades more experience than you and have probably spent $1000's at your store. We visited the store the other day in a kinda emergency situation when our fish tank filter pump failed. My child forgot his mask and while I could do the shopping myself, I was very happy with the store reaction at the new mandatory masks bylaw - they had set up a table at the front with sanitizer and BRANDED bandanna style masks in different colours matching their logo. I'll never go to this location again. We use Pet Smart to keep us supplied in dog food, and for aquarium supplies. Usually have good experiences there. The first thing that annoyed me there was when I asked to use the bathroom. I was told to go Home Depot and use theirs. That involved a little hike. O.K., I was going let that pass. However, I had asked the staff for a couple of things and got quick, curt responses. Their shelves were empty. Didn't have two of the three items that I needed. Won't go there again.

It is one of the worst welcome I have ever got from Liz in 61 avenue SW. They told me that my pet when he was 6months(he is 3years now) tried to bite someone during the grooming and that I would have extra fees for that. My other pet who has 3 months, I had to bring proof of birth date from a vet, all that for getting a light pet trim!! I felt so unwelcome as well as my pets and so I canceled their appointment and I am looking for another place! It is sad to see that one person changed my entire mind about petsmart grooming experience

PetSmart is quite massive! It is clean and orderly too, but there in lies the issue. It is so massive and has so much selection of food, treats, toys and even pets themselves, that it can take a while to find something that you are specifically looking for. Asking Summer at the front register where anything is was pretty much a waste of time. I do not blame her. I can tell that she had just not received training and/or received tools to be able to effectively and efficiently answer customer's questions. She should be given some kind of catalog on her computer that would enable her to tell a customer the location of any single product that is sold. She was very friendly and caring, but just lacked the support necessary. More effective signage above the ailes would also make it easier to navigate the shop. There were a surprising number of employees in the store ready to assist which is great to see. Many shops seem to have cut back on employees in general. Even when calling in with a specific question prior to arriving about Royal Canin for Schnauzers resulted in me being told that they did not have any in. I eventually found quite a bit of it on the shelf when I went. It is lucky I am persistent. Recommendation for PETSMART...please train your staff on product availability and location. Give them more tools to help them when they forget or are unaware please.

After finding out that they were sold out of the reptile bulb i needed (on monday) i was specifically told by the MANAGER that they have ordered the bulb and it would be here Wednesday. I go back Wednesday and am told that they have it but have no idea where it is because they're behind in getting they stuff out on the shelves. I gave them my number and asked them to call me so I can rush over and buy it as I've been looking for this bulb for over a month. Well it's now Thursday afternoon and they never called so I called them and the guy tells me that they don't have it, they ordered it but it didn't come and they don't know when they will have it. WELL THANKS FOR NOTHING!!! I could have ordered this bulb on Monday when I was originally in the stupid petsmart and I could have had the damn thing by now but no, I figured I'd give this location one last try. NEVER WILL I EVER BE BACK TO THIS LOCATION AND I WILL LIMIT MY FUTURE VISITS TO PETSMART. I WILL SHOP AT ANY OTHER PET STORE BEFORE I EVER STEP FOOT IN ANOTHER PETSMART AGAIN.

I have been coming here for more than 6 years now and the service has always been hit or miss. I stopped buying frozen mice from here but I do get my Geckos supplies here. I find that most of the time I'm hunting down staff in the reptile department or waiting long periods of time for them. When I go to the other side of the store to find someone they refuse to help me because "That's not my department". It's been a pain the last few years here just to pick up a few small items. No issues when the girl with blue hair is working though, she's friendly and helps out every time.

So big and clean and huge selection. They have products for pets that I wouldn't have even thought I would need but they've proven quite useful. Bought a cat hairball stain remover just to try and was really surprised at how well it worked. Not like the regular stuff from Walmart that does basically nothing for the stains. Also bought some cage cleaning and odour removing and bedding products for hamster cages and they've worked better than anything I've been able to find at other stores. Also love that they have the grooming and training center and that pets are welcome customers. Who doesn't love to see a cute dog come in while you're shopping? Plus I just live going in just to look at the and torture myself with their cuteness and my desire to take them all home. The staff also seem to take really good care of them. Anytime I've gone in there has always been someone cleaning and/or feeding the habitats there. They always look clean and healthy and well kept. Definitely a nice addition to the shopping community.

Grooming staff was horrible. We were told on the phone to have proof that our dog was vaccinated. We brought in her adoption records which showed her vaccination was completed. When we arrived for our appointment they told us we had to have the expiration date for the vaccine. This was not told to us prior. When we said wr didnt havr that all we had was our adoption record the groomer said there was nothing they could do. Waste of a trip down because the staff forgot to mention information that was vital for us to have the service done. Thanks alot. Maybe make sure your staff is knowledgeable in the future about what info to give to your customers. Waste of time

We acquired two goldfish from here today, and within a few hours they have both died. My boyfriend also told me upon getting the fish there were many dead at the bottom of the tank within the store. Im not looking for a refund but i am incredibly sad that the fish weren't even healthy enough from the store to last a night in their new home. I was there today. I noticed the employee near the hamsters that one of the Syrian hamsters was biting and clawing at the corner of their small enclosure.. I also told her if she doesn't know, that's a sign of anxiety and they should be in much larger enclosures and for sure they should be alone. The highly uneducated sales representative told me that I shouldn't worry about, and that if they had the space in the store they would keep them alone. I will never be shopping here again. Not only were there merchandise carts blocking shelves and stopping me from getting what I needed, the sales associate had no respect and no intelligence about the hamsters who I saw were being tortured in tiny enclosures together. Unacceptable treatment! I can't believe they are trying to sell animals like that who are clearly stressed and in pain of such a small enclosure. Also, the wheels for hamsters to spin and exercise were too small for the hamsters they had.. Boycott this place as their animals are slowly dying miserable deaths and the associates couldn't care less about their pain and suffering.

Well we had some PetSmart gift cards my girlfriend got for Christmas, and decided to check out what they had to offer at the Chinook location. I saw the "Treat" reward system and decided to sign up. Ended up costing 12.99 for a box of cat litter. We ended up getting 5 of them, with the club discount the 5th one, and some change, were free essentially. We also got a rope post that the little bro seems to like, and a very durable fish pole feather toy that The other one loves. Great reward system. Lastly, the staff even went up to the top with a fork lift just to get us box #5. Definitely going back!

Went in for some fish supplies and plants. There were zero plants. Entire display case for plants sitting empty. Okay whatever, wanted a snail as well so I go look at snails, they're all dead. Out of three different tanks with 30ish snails I only saw one moving and most of the shells were just empty. Absolutely appalling care for the fish here. However the employee in the fish section was very nice and tried to be helpful.

We decided that a soft sided one would be the way to go but couldn't find the size we needed so we asked a cashier walking by and she said she would grab a manager (Jen?) who could tell us if they had one or not. I was so disappointed with the grooming salon. I’ve taken my dogs for grooming to Petsmart for years. I was in a rush and this was the only location fairly close to me that had a time that worked. I have two shitszu-Pomeranians and wanted to be fluffy for my wedding. I was advised that the difference would be much but I was expecting the sanitary parts to be trimmed and shaved. When I picked them up they were cute and jumping so it’s hard to see anything. When I got home it seemed that they forgot to shave and trim them. Nails were missing to be cut, their hair between the eyes was not cut, knots on the belly and sanitary parts not shaved/cut. I have them a review and they pretty much said well sorry you didn’t like it. I had to ask if I could bring them for a touch up once I couldn’t look at my dogs without feeling ripped off. I asked if I could bring them to another location closer to me they said they would put a note on their file. I took them to the Sunridge location and they were really nice and squeezed my dog in for some trimming. She did say that it did look like the last groomers completely missed those parts including grooming the belly. She end up charging me for it ($20) on top of all I had paid already at this location. I just paid cause in the end was not their fault in the other hand I am NEVER bringing my dogs back to THIS location. I felt ripped off and it felt like they were making me a favor to groom my dogs. As if I was not paying for it.
