Thanks to manager's attitude towards customers, I'm giving it 2 stars and I feel it is too generous.
The place itself is nice and neat and it has good selection of items, however by the way my husband was treated on Feb 18, 2020, I'm very disappointed. We stopped in Revelstoke for a quick bite and pretty much stumbled accross this shop. I glanced at couple reviews, which were good, so we decided to check it out. They had 50% sale on all kitchen items that day and we found a good brand mixer: older model, pretty much vintage, but still in a good shape. After we were done shopping and wanted to pay, we found out that they only accepted cash and we had none on us. So my husband ran to the nearest ATM, paid $3 ATM fee, got the cash and came back within minutes. Then the manager started calculating purchase total. That 50% off I mentioned earlier, she DID NOT honor. She tried to sell it for a higher price. My husband pointed it out to her, which she grudgingly acknowledged, then there was a small commotion with another customer, and somehow she just conveniently "forgot" my husband's remark and went on with the higher price. So we paid the higher total. Then husband says: "I'm still waiting for my change". At this point she started laughing because it was such a small amount, however he insisted. So she gave him the change with a fake smile on her face and wished him a good day that clearly sounded like mockery: "Oh my goodness, it's such a small amount, and you boy are fighting for it?!". Lady, that WAS NOT THE POINT. If you put a 50% off all day sale, then HONOR it! Otherwise, you're lying to your customers and that is not the way to do business, esspecially a small one like yours! You are not selling brand new things, and customers coming to shop at your store are choosing to do so. It should be an honor to you, that we come there, run accross icy sidewalks just to get cash to obey Cash Only store policy!
Oh and one more thing. While my husband was running on the sidewalk, avoiding ice slips and trying to keep his injured foot intact, I was in the store witnessing managers annoyance. It was close to 4pm, their closing time, and I spotted the manager annoyingly glancing at the clock while he was gone. Are you kidding me, you guys are open only 4 hours per day and you got annoyed because you had to wait few minutes extra for a customer to buy store items?!! And he actually made it back BEFORE 4pm! In fact, we were done paying at 3.59pm!
In summary: shopping experience in a place where you force a manager to honor the sale and being mocked for it, is not a good one.
The light haired lady, manager's assistant I'm assuming, was nice. She actually cared and assisted us with directing my husband to the nearest ATM and was genuinely curious how he made it. When he said he almost slipped and fell on the injured foot, she was actually concerned for his well being! That was very nice of her and just for that I gave this store an extra star.
