Great shop in Parry Sound. They've got decent clothing as you'd expect at an outdoor store although don't expect a huge inventory (they are a smaller store). Nice selection of Darn Tough and Smartwool socks :) The staff is super friendly and helpful! You can rent snowshoes there as well.

I participated in the Summer Paddling Getaway with White Squall Paddling Centre in mid-July 2017. We paddled to Big McCoy, a group of islands. Every detail of our 3-day trip was addressed in advance and we were well prepared. Advance notice emails, reminders and packing list links were all very helpful.The gear provided was top-notch and easy to use or learn to use. The guides were readily available to offer assistance with paddling tips, tent set-up and local history/geography/weather inquiries. The meals provided were amazing - I have camped my entire life and they prepared exceptional meals of great variety. I would highly recommend a paddling trip on Georgian Bay with White Squall.

They found us a paddle board with short notice at a reasonable price and didn't charge me for the first of two days because I picked it up at the end of the business day. They were also friendly and helpful, explaining the safety equipment and demonstrating how to strap it onto the car properly.

Fantastic service! White squall offers excellent and friendly staff to assist you in finding your perfect kayak. During my most recent visit, the young gentleman who helped up, Connor, spent a lot of time getting us into a kayak I was comfortable with. He went above and beyond to teach us not only beginner skills, but also routes, lakes and other places kn the area where we can paddle around. I have visited White Squall several times and the service and staff are always kind and helpful. You can tell they really love outdoor activities and have enormous respect for keeping the great outdoors clean and accessible. The chickens are also pretty cool.

This is my third trip with White Squall and I am always impressed with the quality guides, the beautiful scenery (goes with out saying...it's Georgian Bay), and the abundant and tasty food. Ethan, Kyle, and Stephanie were always upbeat and willing to help out. I love that safety is always considered and as a novice kayaker, I never feel pressured to go beyond my skill level. At the same time, I always learn some new tips. The guides really take the time to plan out meals that are tasty and fun. The smoked trout was probably the highlight for me. Kudos to Kyle, Stephanie and Ethan...and thanks for a great trip.

fyi Paddling Centre is on Fall / Winter hours call ahead to book. Fantastic people. Kathleen answered my call Tuesday so when I arrived early Wednesday Kayak & all the gear was outside ready to go (thanks Kathleen). Tim Dyer (owner) made a timely appearance to check that I have everything, thanks for help loading kayak and kind words of wisdom. I've been on lots of canoe trips and around small boats all my life but this was first time tripping w a Sea Kayak on Georgian Bay & solo. Really appreciated the warm welcome from White Squall staff wonderful people. Day one moderate winds & waves gave me time to get comfortable. Day 2 bigger wind & waves. Equipment provided was perfect for the conditions notably the kayak was very stable - Sea Kayaking is awesome. Thanks White Squall

We rented a canoe and transfer it via foam block and straps on top of BMW X3 with panoramic roof. It works really well and the staff there is very patient on teaching us and the rental process is very smooth!

We were here at the very end of season so it was lovely and quiet and the owner was really helpful, we get the feeling that is always the case though! Kate was an excellent navigator. The team leadership between Kate and Hannah was excellent. Hannah provided fantastic educational information, folk lore, songs about the area and just general fun. We enjoyed fantastic views of the area and camping along the Georgian Bay. The final day we happened upon a momma bear and her three cubs - fantastic! Definitely would do it again! Highly recommended.

We were a group of 8 ages 7-55. We had a remarkable day paddling with our two guides. We started at the centre and they went over safety protocols, etc. They set us up with pfd's and paddling jackets as it was a grey/drizzly day. There were 8 of us and we were all in tandem kayaks. The guides were in single kayaks and stayed interspersed with us. We ventured forth from Snug Harbour and wove in and around islands. We stopped for a shore lunch and they set up a type of tent canopy with kayak paddles just in time to shelter us from a down pour. Even though we provided our own lunches they surprised us with brownies and hot tea! The youngest fella got a chill and they provided him with a spare fleece. Even though it was overcast and drizzling the paddling was wonderful. They assured us that had it been bright and sunny it would have gotten too hot to cover the distance that we did. Very enjoyable excursion and highly recommend this outfitter!

These people are amazing; super friendly and helpful and they offer the best customer service!! I ordered a solo canoe from them. I mistakenly thought that it came with a removable yoke. That was my fault, not theirs. At first, I thought that wouldn't be a problem but when I took it on a canoe trip it did become one. When I got back home I sent them an email, not to complain but just to explain my problem and see if they had any suggestions. I got an immediate response from Peter. He was fantastic; so understanding; so kind! Without hesitation he volunteered to, and did, arrange to have a yoke shipped to me free of charge! Unexpected but totally appreciated, amazing customer service!

Selling kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and gear isn't really what White Squall is about. White Squall's product is a complete paddling experience. The place has the joy of a summer camp feel about it, always with something happening. The staff are enthusiastic about paddling, but professional enough to meet you on your level when teaching or helping you choose a kayak or board. And age is no obstacle - whether you're five or seventy-five they'll help you learn how to move over the water better, faster and safer. They'll take you out for four hours or four days. It would be easy to make White Squall the focus of your summer holiday plans. Oh, and they sell paddle boards, kayaks and canoes at reasonable prices with no hassles on after-purchase care.

This store has great customer service. The staff were really helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping me make the right choice with my kayak purchase. There was no pressure, they let me try whatever boats appealed to me, and they never rushed me. Great experience overall. I highly recommend this establishment if you are in the market for paddling gear. Edit: Returned to look at another kayak a year later. Staff did not fail to impress me again. Even remembered I have two kids (nice job Claire!) Tried a few kayaks, a couple paddles, and left with another boat and paddle. Again, every bit as helpful as my first time there.
