When I first entered Clothes Encounters of a Second Time I was unsure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with everything this place had to offer. Firstly, the service was impeccable. I was greeted by some of the kindest retail staff I've ever had the pleasure with dealing with. I also had the pleasure of meeting the store owner, Monique Du gas. She was ready and willing to help me with any and all problems that I had. The service alone was enough to make we want to come back here Secondly, the selection of clothes available was impressive to say the least. They have all sorts of name brands, ranging from Gucci to Banana Republic. All listed for very reasonable prices. They also sell accessories such as hats and glasses. I left the store today with a nice new sweater and glasses which I am very pleased with Overall, Close Encounters of a Second Time is an amazing store that I will visit again. I recommend this place to anyone.

Great pieces and some real vintage items. Just be aware it's a high-end second-hand store; there arent any thrift-shop prices. I.e., a Dianne Von Furstenberg dress... but it was still $200.

I love going to Clothes Encounters, not only do they offer an amazing selection of clothing for every season, but I am always greeted by the most lovely staff who are willing to help in every way. The ambiance in the store alone makes a visit worth it, and Clara is always there to greet me! I will definitely be going into store to find some key Fall pieces.

The negative responses are extremely confusing as they are the furthest thing away from the truth. The store is unique and colorful, the staff are always accommodating and ready to help you with whatever you need, the interactions are genuine and there is NO CAT PEE SMELL. The quality of the clothes is remarkable and their prices and overall authenticity make the negative comments seem completely irrelevant.

One of the most expensive thrift stores I have ever seen. And I’m from Vancouver..... they had a 50% off sale which was nice and branded clothes but couldn’t find a plain t shirt for under 10$.. kind of defeats the purpose of a thrift. The owner was very kind and I would have liked to support her business. Just out of my price range and not what I expected.

Went there for the first time and wow is it ever expensive!! A big wool shirt that I could buy at the Salvation Army or Value Village for $5, she was selling it at $65!! What?! That's crazy!! Needless to say I will not be returning... the prices on the clothes and shoes were outrageous!! ????????

I came over the store for the first time a little over 2 years. I was excited to see designer names that I never knew before and different styles of design. I also found the staff to give you attention so that they can remember you the next time you come in, especially as a regular. If you love to find little gems in colorful “mishmash” stores, it would be here, and certainly it is a creative hotspot that I found myself in of authentic, affordable fashion for my money (as an example, finding AUTHENTIC Louis Vuitton for 250$ rather than for 2000$ is a big deal for someone like me who can’t afford easily that kind of thing!). If ever you want a different experience such as finding something you would never expect and a kind cat to talk to (whose name is Clara), it is worth to check out when you’re in the Beechwood area!

This is an amazing store with high end items at reasonable prices. The owner is a wonderful, kind, caring person who is very helpful and honest. She has a ton of integrity and manages to keep her stock updated and fresh. When a season is ending, she has fantastic sales to prepare for the next season. Consigning there has also been a great experience for me, letting others enjoy some of my previously loved designer bags, name brand clothes, etc. Love going through this quaint little shop, tucked away in New Edinburgh, as I scour the racks to buy some of my greatest finds and most loved pieces.

Wonderful local business with exquisite clothing that has been gently loved. This store has incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Their prices are fairly marked. The staff found a chair for my 86 year old Mom while I tried clothes on. My mom and I both found treasures. Would you believe one of the staff walked us to our car on an icy winter day and gave both of us a hug goodbye? She did! Support this local business! It is a fun treasure hunt.

Out of town visiting and came upon this cute shop. I’ve been shopping second hand as of the last year because I would rather spend a bit more on quality designer pieces (never full price though) than fast fashion. A really great selection of pieces at this store, found a coat for myself and my boyfriend bought a couple of shirts as well. Only reason a four star is because there were a couple of fake bags I spotted (they were advertised as fake, but I just don’t support it) and also didn’t have the best encounter when I first went in there with a sales associate... the second time though I dealt with the owner and she was absolutely wonderful. I’ll be back again when I’m in town!

Good selection, better prices, excellent staff, and an even better atmosphere; staff were extremely helpful, and equally cheery, during my visit. I went in to get a piece of jewelry for my girlfriend's birthday, and walked out with a gift bag sporting a wrapping job far beyond what I'd hoped; my girlfriend loved it when little wooden, ornamental stars came out of the wrapping paper, as she enthusiastically unwrapped the gift bag... Excellent experience, and from a man who usually doesn't care much for clothing stores, that says quite a lot. Highly recommended! Wish more such stores were like this.

Great Store!! Found some very nice Zegna and Armani ties for an incredible price. On my way to the cash, I picked up a pair of Bollé sunglasses for a fraction of price. The staff were very nice. I will go back for sure. Oh!!! and there is free parking in the back of the store.

I used to love shopping there, until about a year ago when I came in to re-sell items I had purchased there a couple of months prior. The owner (I'm assuming she's the owner) was extremely rude, stating that this is a "high end consignment" store and they don't accept items like this - let me repeat, I had purchased the items FROM THAT STORE. She also told me that one of my items was "dirty" (it had some lint in it from a sweater it had been folded on top of) and was extremely condescending and rude. Needless to say, when it came time to sell my designer bags consignment (Louis Vuitton, Coach, Michael Kors) I brought them elsewhere.

Cute place, good pieces but I am disappointed that I paid $73.45 with taxes in for a "sterling silver" 925 ring who turned my finger green! This ring was definitely not real silver as I have been wearing a real silver ring on my finger for a long time without such issue. I also know real "925" silver does not do that. When I paid I got told that this was final sale, I threw out my receipt put the ring on (I truly loved it, had amethysts on it). Woke up to a green finger and noticing this ring was probably only plated not the real deal. I am very disappointed to have lost that amount over an item I cannot wear.
