If I could I would give zero stars. I brought items to this location in on March 1, 2019. The woman working at the time was very rude and said that her job was not the consignment side but she would help me anyway. Since the website clearly indicates that people can bring items during store hours I figured there would be someone willing to help a new consignor to the store. I continuously tried to check the online system as of April 1st, with no luck. Finally I called beginning of May for an update on my account and see if any items sold/ needed to be picked up. I was told that items were ok until June 29, 2019 and to pick up before then. Today, June 13, I went to go pick up my items. As I still cannot see any information about my account online I went in and asked for assistance, explaining this is my first time picking up items and wasn't sure how it worked since I cannot see my account online. The same woman from March reminded me again that she doesn't work the consignment side. I asked if I could be provided a list of the items that were left so that I could know what I'm looking for. She then yelled at me, while I'm holding my 9 month old, and with two other customers in the store about how it's a new system, I should know what I brought in, and to search the racks for my stuff. I left the store with 6 of my items and $8 from my account. Considering I brought in 19 (still have the receipt) it's fair to say some things are missing. Either items have yet to be put out or I just couldn't find them. Either way, I wouldn't suggest consigning here. If you wish to donate your items to the store for them to sell and take the money, go ahead. Personally, I've consigned with other stores in Ottawa not geared toward maternity or children and I'm saddened and shocked by my experience with Boomerang.

My wife’s been coming here for years. Now our kids are a bit more grown we don’t buy from here as much but it’s nice to have had a place where good quality clothes can be upcycled and bought. Also one of the few places locally that sold kleen Kanteens that our kids seem to lose every two years like clockwork. If you return things here they get sold and you get some credit for the next time.

They have amazing staff, and a wide array of items, that you could come back days later, and find new things... It's always a great adventure. Now that they have gone to having an online store - I have found it even more convenient to try to find what I need, or to quickly peruse their inventory. Definitely have been promoting Boomerang Kids Old Ottawa South, as well as other locations, because it is more important now than ever to support businesses like Boomerang. But also, kids outgrow their clothes, toys, and equipment, why not help parents and families who don't have the luxury of buying brand new? If you love to support local, if you love a good deal, if you love reducing waste, if you love the idea of giving back - Boomerang is the business model for your business.

NEVER drop anything off to this location without taking a picture and making a list. Three of my higher quality and very expensive items went missing before being logged into their system, even though I was in no rush when dropping off, was in the store during the day on a weekday and was there for over an hour after drop-off. I had to complain to get money back for 1 item they lost, which they did give. At first the male owner tried the line of you should have read your contract whatever gets lost in the store is not our responsibility. I responded by saying true but only if it makes it to the floor first and is not taken by you or your employees. I didn't even squabble about the other two items that went missing but i should have. I find this store and their processes totally shady. Will NEVER go back and definitely do not recommend to anyone.

Don't live in the area anymore, but I was surprised that boomerang kids is still here. Went to buy a little bike from this store years ago when I was still a kid. Still have it today somewhere, and it is somehow still functional (I can't use it without breaking my back though). The only bad thing that happened to me here was when I was little and I tripped and fell and started crying. Still remember this to this day.

The Staff at the Old Ottawa South location is not very helpful and often dismissive. Customers dropping off for consignment are treated as an inconvenience, without these customers the business wouldn’t exist.

It's easy to buy from Boomerang OOS, even online, because their quality is so high. Everything I buy looks like new. I know from experience they reject items for very minor flaws, so I'm always confident when I shop there.

I bought a number of things from here for my sister's baby shower. One of the books I bought had a couple pages ripped out of it, which I didn't realise when I had bought it. I also bought a mosquito baby net, but wanted to return it because I found one for 10 dollars, whereas the one from Boomerang kids was 30 dollars. When I went to do my return, the lady was very rude about it, and had an aggressive tone when I asked which card I had used, because usually you need to return money on the same card used to buy the product. Safe to say I'll be getting future gifts for my niece/nephew at a place with better customer service that doesn't make me feel terrible for a simple 2 minute return.

Good deals. The store is over crowded and messy trying to find sizes was a bit of a nightmare and found there was an odd smell to everything, after a wash at home the smell was gone from what we bought. Probably won't go back, as the mess was just too much. It was comparable to trying to find a needle in a hay stack, for a few good finds. For me it's not worth the hassle and the stress in the unorganised chaos .

Price Tags are too much expensive for second hand items. All Boomerang store are OVER pricing . I refuse to go there even if I'm desperately looking for something in particular. Second hand should be half price or less of the tag price from STORE Great place to go is Thrift Store or Value Village
