We offer you the opinions of people who buy the services of Dugger's Mens Wear (Costumes) in the territory close to Nova Scotia (Canada).
As of day this business gets a score of 3.9 stars over 5 and the rating has been based on 78 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is quite positive, and it is based on a high number of scores, so we can say that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to write feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Costumes is classified in the category of Men's clothing store.
Because of the area
Obviously for the well to do gentleman. Staff don't ask me to leave. If you have the money, they have an excellent collection of men's clothing. Staff are friendly.
Love the amount of selection and styles at this store. Prices are quite high and certainly not for those shopping on a budget.
A luxury store, in Halifax for over 20 years, still no accessibility button. Shameful. Edit: you've now moved into a new location with slightly better access but still have not added an accessibility button. "Someone can open the door" is not universal design or an acceptable substitute.
Absolutely disgusted with the service I received here today and I will add that this is not my first time in the store... After spending several hundred dollars here and chatting with staff frequently while shopping, I was disheartened when I was targeted in front of every other customer for a potential theft.... Upstairs there is a selection of belts, (all of which are upwards of $150) and as I tried the belt on around the store, very open about the fact that I had put the item on ie. tags displayed, clearly put on in front of staff.. A young man downstairs came up and practically put me on the spot pointing out the tags at the front of my slacks. Prior to this i could here the two staff members whispering "you see the tags"... All the while I had other items in a change room waiting for me to try on WITH THE BELT, i had not even gone near an exit nor had I tried to hide the item, I was simply testing the feel of a potential $200 belt, (the exact model was $198 plus tax) before dropping that kind of money. After all of this my desire to shop here was completely gone, and as i exited the store i was escorted by the same young man who ended up getting into a verbal altercation with me. I am APPAULED, he proceeded to tell me they didnt need my money and that he had never seen me spend hundreds of dollars there, all the while he had just been eating popcorn the whole time my suit was being fitted... A prime example of how first class service can fall into the negative category. A note to the managers, I would suggest having a customer service meeting regarding these types of situations. Making assumptions because I do not have grey hair and an arch in my back is a great way to leave a customer feeling inferiorated. If I could give negative stars I would, this is last thing I would have expected at a store like this. As stated in another review, do yourself and the rest of us a favour and make a donation to a local charity, the clothes here are not worth the money and the service is a whole different ball game. This experience really makes me sick, there is now no justification for the mark up.
My fiancé and I were on the hunt for a suit and shoes for our wedding so figured Dugger's would be the best spot to check out as we love to support local, especially with big wedding purchases. Despite there being multiple people working and a quiet afternoon we were completely ignored for most of our visit until after about ten minutes of looking around and hoping for help we approached an employee who resentfully assisted us. It was a really disappointing experience and we certainly won't be going back. Happy to report we had the complete opposite experience at a different local shop and were able to purchase everything we needed from them :)
Liam was a pleasure to deal with! He was so helpful and friendly . He helped us find all the right sizes and made the experience great!
Had to meet the Prime Minister on short notice (couple hours) so I had to look sharp. Needed a shirt for my outfit that looks great, stands out and makes an impression but is not flamboyant. Challenge is I have an odd body shape that doesn't fit in the norm and I am very particular about my style and what I was looking for. This often prevents me from shopping for clothes as it can be very frustrating. Went into Duggers and spoke with David Slaunwhite. I must have looked at every single shirt in the place before I finally found what I was looking for, we were then able to find a suit that looked amazing. While I am sure David was a little put off but he didn't show it one bit, he was the consummate professional the whole time and didn't try to press something on me I didn't like. They were even able to hem my pants in 10 mins on the spot. The meeting went off great and I couldn't be happier with the service and product I received from Duggers. Will definitely be back and telling people to come see David. Ill post the pic with the PM when I get it back, thanks again!
Fantastic men’s store. Best clothing in the city for men! Go downstairs, check it out!
Had not been in store in a while but each and every time in the past was well worth it. They have great end of season sales up to 50 percent off. A selection that can not be found anywhere else in Halifax and they have Zac Barkhouse who is a pleasure to do business with. Every man should own at least one pair of good shoes. Allen Edmonds are the best and I have always found Zac helpful in choosing the best pair for me.
Adam needed a shirt for the wedding we were attending over the weekend so when we saw this storefront we figured we would give it a try. We spent over an hour and half in there! The saleslady assisting us was very nice and patient. Adam must've tried on at least 2-3 different shirts and more than 5 ties. She was also nice enough to steam the shirt before wrapping it up. They have this cool policy in the store where you can try to put a hole in one mini golf style for $95 off a tie for $2 (and the money goes to charity!). Sadly, both Adam and I missed. But I enjoyed playing a lot! Mini put inside a store! I was surprised no one snubbed us as we did look very ordinary. I think once Adam specifically asked to try on a shirt, they loosened up and realized we were going to buy something. That's when they got friendlier and offered us drinks. But I really only liked the lady who helped us, the rest seemed unbothered and lazy.
You will get better customer service shopping online. Their selection is limited in both brands and sizes.
A wonderful variety of Mens clothing . I love their polo section , as they have items that are unique and hard to find elsewhere . The customer service is a 10 plus , and would highly recommend as one of Atlantic Canada’s finest selection of menswear .
We went in to Dugger's after trying many men's clothing stores in Halifax. Karl was helpful right from the start. He spent over an hour helping us find the perfect suit for my fiancé to wear to our wedding. We will definitely be back and recommend this store to anyone who is looking for a great suit. Awesome selection if you are looking for something more high end. We are very happy that we decided to visit Dugger's.
Always a pleasure
haven't been to Duggers in years and decided to check out their new location and buy some a few pairs of denim jeans. when i walked into the store they had a few tables full of 70 % off clothing . since im not crazy enough to pay retail on luxury clothing (unless i just have to have it) this is usually my focus in any luxury store. not sure if it was my interest in discount section or the way i looked but i didn't have any of the downstairs sales associates ask if i needed help or if there was anything they could help me with. i didn't expect the same customer service someone would expect in Walmart or Canadian tire but I'm no stranger to luxury stores and not the first time i have gotten that sort of snotty shopping experience, i went upstairs to the suit section and was greeted by an Asian lady with a smile and "can i help you with anything?" i declined her offer as i wasn't looking for a suit and made my way back downstairs and started looking at all the jeans never having a sales associate even acknowledge i was in the store. what made it more difficult was the fact that only the discount clothing had clearly marked pricing and the other non discounted denim i looked at had no price i could see so you need to talk to a sales associate to get prices. the 1 star is for the Asian lady in the suit section and it would be 5 stars for her as this is the kind of service i expect. i was in the Robert Simmonds store in Fredricton last month and had a great experience while purchasing a few items and this is what i expect from any store let alone a luxury store that should pride itself on service. Duggers get your suit lady to train your staff on how it is done before you lose more customers as i wont be back and will spend my money online at Holt Renfrew and Harry Rosen! duggers you have a limited market in halifax so in my opinion the attitude of the majority of the sales associates should reflect that fact.
Unbelievably poor service. I walked in today with a t shirt and jeans ready to buy a couple suits. I am the CEO of a local tech company yet seemingly did not fit the description of their customer. I walked around the store for 15 minutes looking at suits. No one came to help me and in fact I saw them walk away. When I raised my point, the three service people did not apologize and simply shrugged off their behaviour. Can't say I've felt this disrespected in a store before. Was going to give the local guys a shot despite higher prices but now I'll go back to buying suits in other cities for better selection and especially service. **Update** I was referred to Colwell's in the Historic Properties. I bought two suits for a good price and excellent service. I would recommend others shop at here first. I'll be shopping at Colwell's again.
(Translated) Shop high quality service. (Original) Магазин высокого качества обслуживания.
Only place with a high end selection of men's wear. Can putt to win a tie
Upscale, and priced accordingly, but very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Always a stellar experience from entry to exit. I can always find something my husband loves at Dugger's and last weekend was no exception.
great palce for man , but i need some help
I came in first thing in the morning with an emergency. Brian was absolutely a pro in the situation and had me out the door in less than a hour with two beautiful, well fitting shirts. Well done!
Nice place to shop at
Dave and his son kyle are the best salesman in duggers they treat everyone well!
Definitely agree with a lot of the reviews here where if you are not dressed in a certain way, the customer service is terrible. I’ve had similar experiences where I was looking at a local place to buy Allen Edmonds and some causual shirts, but received no customer service the entire time. Needless to say, I spent my money elsewhere, mostly in Toronto and online.
Always love buying from here. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
It's ok but everything is very over priced
Nice store, bring lots of $$$$$$
Overpriced !!! Staff is arrogant and not that knowledgeable when it comes to fashion. Better off going to Marshalls and finding a nice Harry Brown or Strellson Suit for $300 to $400 than spending over $1000 plus Tax at Duggers. Do yourself a favor and save your money. You will be glad you did ! p.s. Not sure who wrote the glowing reviews about Zac other than his mother lol. The guy is so cocky ! Someone should remind him he works in retail. At minimum wage it would take him about a months pay to afford a Zena suit
Fantastic as always. Thanks for the excellent service!
Fantastic customer service, great selection.
Beautiful men's clothing. Very expensive but great quality names. The staff is kind and helpful. They have a seamstress on site so you dont have to go anywhere's else for that. They will also ship to you if you need to leave it for the seamstress.
Beauty of a store. Just phenomenal. Also, Cameron is the personification of customer service. Not only a gem of a person but the most accommodating and helpful salesperson I've had at a men's clothing store. Cameron definitely went above and beyond.
Wonderful store! Great Customer Service.
Ross, Jeff and the staff know their stuff. Excellent quality clothing and great service.
Good for man
great shop 4 every day
Weird vibe in this place. It’s almost a parody of what poor people think rich people want, with a stylish but cramped and bizarre store layout, and a small selection of well-made but desperately boring clothing. Staff veer between invasive and apathetic. Better to stick with Nordstrom or Harry Rosen - better selection without the adolescent attitude.
Great clothing if your willing to spend the money
I am visiting Halifax and read good things about Duggers so thought I would stop in as I was looking for a few items (coats and shoes). I was in there for 15 minutes upstairs and no one greeted or ask if I needed assistance. It seemed like they were all having lunch together? Not sure though. Went to the basement and sales rep at least greeted me but then again was there for about 10 minutes and no help. So they do have some good brands (Allen Edmonds, Barbour, eleventy etc) and if I found the right thing I might have spent a fair a bit on staple items but while there pricing looked to be on the mark there customer service - which the visitor guide claims they are known for - was not. Maybe it was because I was wearing a ballcap, t shirt, jeans and sneakers. Anyways I would not recommend the store unfortunately although I wish I could because I like to support smaller local businesses
Always good stuff!! And best deal!!
Always friendly staff and great sales!
Great choice of men shirt. However, it is an high end store. Excellent for a weading suit or anyone that need to be well dress for work.
Always fantastic quality, and unbelievable service, ordered online for the first time Wednesday at noon, my order was delivered to Antigonish shortly after 9:00 A.M. Thursday.
Great friendly service. Willing to fix any small tailoring needs on suits after purchase free of charge. It is a place to find higher end items quality items.
We visited your shop last week. What appeared to be the owner was entertaining a friend in the back. In a 15 minute period he seemed to bother every sales staff on the floor regarding questions on sizing or where stuff was. Maybe he needs his eyes tested? Or maybe he needs to spend some time in his own shop? Or maybe step away completely.... At one point he even barked at one of the associates to give us a hand. The funny thing was the associate was already trying to help up but kept getting pulled away and even paged to back of the shop to help him with sizing. How rude! We felt very imbarased for the staff that day. Seems like a bad work invironent. We didn't buy anything. The young sales men and woman seemed nice but weren't even given a chance to help there customers :(
Went into the store looking to buy a Canada Goose jacket (I highly support local shops), while walking in I was not greeted at all upstairs while a couple after was acknowledge by one of the female workers without hesitation. After my purchase downstairs (Shoutout to the young men on the lower level), the same lady upstairs seen me walk back up with my jacket with a different (more welcoming) attitude. Morale of the story, appearance matters in this store.
