Went in there to find something for my son. He touched one cheap little lion mask as he wanted to try it on and the old woman who worked there freaked out saying merchandise is fragile, don’t touch, and basically chased us out. She was following us around watching like an hawk making for a very unpleasant shopping experience to begin with, only to be kicked out a few mins later for having come with my kids. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I would agree with you on all points....if my son was actually misbehaving. Your blatant distortion of the facts is insulting, desperate, and pathetic. Feel free to post the video if you want to add "dishonest " or "lying" to the list of negative attributes that describe your business on this review page. You have a lot to learn about dealing with the public.

I have had nothing but good experiences at this store. Sure they have lower-end items, you literally get what you pay for and they also have quality higher-end and reputable items (I get my Ben Nyes products there) and a few times they had 50% off sales on all their makeup products. If you are complaining because of bad service on Halloween, seriously? Maybe you should plan your costume a head of time. It's their busiest season, literally line-ups for 20+ mins, especially with COVID restrictions. I personally found the staff to be quite helpful, patient, despite being incredibly busy. I will continue to patron this business!

The staff is knowledgeable and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I get the sense they understand quality in costume and do everything they can to help you get the look--even when the store is teeming. I've shopped around and this is the only costume store I frequent. There's a variety of price ranges too which accommodates for everyone.

Very helpful staff, lots of variety, way more costume selection at Halloween. Good wig, contacts, zombie make up, and mask selection during Halloween the lines up can get long. Show up early to wait in line around Halloween. The rest of the year I've never seen it very busy

I called ahead and spoke to a very unenthusiastic woman about a product I was looking for. She told me they had a good selection of what I needed, but when I arrived I couldn’t find what she said they had. I asked two of their employees for help; the first directed me in the general direction of their wigs (I was shopping for a particular style/colour of wig), and the other was either unable to speak English, or too lazy to talk. Based on his demeanour, I would think it was the latter. The store was very messy, unorganized, and to be honest very overwhelming. For the products they have, there’re better places to go in the city, with better staff, more reasonable prices, and higher quality products. I didn’t end up buying anything from my trip there, and most likely won’t be attempting to return for costumes in the future.

I've tried shopping here a few times and I'll never try again. Most things are overpriced and the customer service is horrid. I bought one of their wigs that was on the more exspenive side (80$) and it was wefted wrong. They wouldn't let me return it, I needed that wig for an event and just figured I'd buy another one and asked to look at the wefts of the new one and was denied. Another time I bought spirit glue from them and the bottle was dry and they would not replace it. My friend had a similar issue with buying a costume that was damaged when they opened it and they would not let her exchange it. I've seen what I assume was the owner screaming at one of the workers there, he seemed new. They didn't know I was in the store. I just walked out and never came back. I only went back again after the wig fiasco because it was close to my place of living. Malabar, spirit and relfections are a much better option for your costume needs. They all have been friendly and helpful. I've heard some remarks about them being racist and homophobic to customers and workers also.

there's not many places in the city where you can get the optical products to buy this store is very large as a huge selection of costumes Halloween time is obviously the busiest time but if you want to get something for an event it has a good selection of products and I do recommend it and I've also brought people there for the first time and they were also very impressed.

The selection is great and really fun to browse, which is the only reason I will not give one star. The staff themselves are nice, but the way they are managed is horrible. They follow you around and keep asking over and over again if you need you help, and they seem very tense and uncomfortable. Then the managers started following us around and staring at us and asking what we were doing. For context, my boyfriend and I are in our mid-30s and had just come from our corporate offices after work, so we're not dressed or acting like young hoodlums or drawing attention to ourselves. We were going to buy things, but I'm not going to support a business that actively makes me feel unwelcome. Unbelievably terrible atmosphere and service, which is a shame.

I cannot believe how horrible my experience with Theatrics Plus was today. I called in advance to make sure they had the item I was looking for: multiple pairs of coke bottle nerd glasses. I was assured by the guy on the phone that they had so many there was no chance of them selling out, and he declined my suggestion to put some aside for me. When I arrived, there were three people working: a teenage girl, a woman who must have been about 70, and a man who had obviously done loads of drugs during his lifetime. Not a single one of them could help me find my item. The teenager had only started working that day, so it's understandable that she didn't know where everything was, but the old lady and the deadhead guy were completely out of it! The old woman asked me multiple times if she could help me, because she kept forgetting that she had offered to help me before! The same went for the stoner guy, because he kept walking off to find what I was looking for, but never returning. When I found him, he'd ask if he could help me, because he didn't recognize me from five minutes prior. In the end, nobody could find the item I requested, and I was told that they must have sold out. Even though I had called in advance and was assured that they had lots of these costume glasses in stock. Theatrics Plus wasted a half hour of my time, and their incompetence in unfathomable. It's really not too much to ask that you know where items are within your store, and whether or not they are in stock. I should note that these glasses are listed on the Theatrics Plus website, so I know that they carry them. I will never be going to this establishment again, and I suggest you avoid it at all costs. What a nightmare.

As far as variety and the incidentals To a costume this is the place...which is why I gave it two stars... I have left there on two separate occasions because of how uncomfortable I felt being followed around the store while I was attempting to decide on my purchase. I felt like the elder woman who was doing the following assumed I was a thief. Anytime I reached to check the quality or price I could feel her eyes boring into me with contempt. I couldn’t take it anymore so I left empty handed on both occasions which is sad I Want to support local businesses and was ready to spend a good 250 bucks...but not like that man.

Large variety of props, wigs, hats, lazerguns, costumes, make-up and everything in-between. Unfortunately, much of the offerings are of a cheap, poor quality halloween-type of items and are waaaaay overpriced (i.e. child's, plastic cowboy guns and plastic holsters for $24.99, -but should really be $9.99 or less). Many items are coated in a thick layer of dust as they have been there for a very long time. Theatrics Plus might just do if you're in a rush and have nowhere else to go for your next Halloween costume. But otherwise, I'd highly recommend avoiding this place.

Wide variety but some of the stuff didn't even make sense while wearing. Overpriced stuff. I came to your store late night because no other places were open and had to buy stuff for Halloween and ended up spending $60+ for literally a headband net gloves and a leggings. Nothing was durable or lasted longer. The employees are also not that good at their work. They dont know what kind of costumes are where and were not interested to help. One of the employee was constantly staring at me.

This was my first time at the store. When I got there,there was a line-up to get in. At first I didn't like that but when I got inside I then thought it was a good idea to limit the number of people on probably the busiest day-the Saturday before Halloween. Once inside I was almost immediately served by a very helpful guy named Nathan. He seemed to go out of his way to get me what I wanted,plus a little old lady helped me with another selection while I was waiting for Nathan to return from the basement where there was other stock. In the end I was a happy costumer. I got exactly what I wanted. I see why there was a line-up.

This place has quite many varieties but they are overpriced here. I bought a birthday ballon here 15.xx + tax, you can find the same at Loblaws half price. Birthday candles 2.50+ tax, you can find the same at Canadian Tire/ Dollar Store for 99c.

The service was good. They helped you a lot. They stayed open after hours until I came, which was good, since I was coming from far. Unfortunately, the steampunk section was poor quality for the price. Lots of plastic instead of real gears. Takes away from the authenticity of steampunk. Especially when the steampunk stuff was expensive.

A store like no other. TheatricsPlus has been giving toronto it's much needed color. Been in this store multiple times but it still feels like the first time coming in. From their items to the friendliest employees. Variety of costumes to choose from, cool weapons, colorful masks, good quality wigs, great brands of makeup and after my very recent visit they now have balloons!! Keep on it guys. and i'm very excited to see what you're up to this coming Comicon.

What a relief. There's finally a store that has everything that one could want. The staff is truly amazing. They were all really helpful and made it really a great experience to shop here. Awful establishment. Went there on many occasions recently for Halloween and saw what I assumed to be the owner treating his employees like trash. I overheard the owner gossiping about his own employees and the employees seemed miserable. Products are incredibly expensive and bad quality. They are basically scamming you. The employees were lovely though. I recommend people avoid this store and shop at better party establishments.

Aggressive customer service! They will go to any length to rip you off. Bought an item in the store and figured out that they had wrongfully charged me more than the actual price which was available on their online website the same day. Their response was total denial and the explanation by the manager who was very rude and aggressive was that their online website is not updated and that the same item can have a different price online than in the store(even in CAD).I have seen no such statement on their online website. Be careful while buying anything at this store! Look at the price tag, they will rip you off if they get the chance.

Will never shop here again... The costumes are sooo cheap, literally bought angel wings and they're made from cardboard with paper and feathers glued- I could have made that myself (the feathers started coming off). You can even see the outline of the cardboard in the photo. Not impressed. They were $18.07. I want a serious refund.

Stocked with costumes, wigs and accessories. Need fake blood? Need coloured contact lenses? Wigs and body stockings they have them and usually a good selection. It can be a little expensive but where else can one get a vampire assassination kit and fake blood at the last minute? No, seriously, where?

Honestly this was not the best shopping trip I've had here, one of the workers constantly followed me around at like 1 meter distance from me, which really trigger my anxiety, as I tried to talk to him about why and what I was shopping for and I dont even think he understood English as he just stared blanked face at me. Not happy at all and I definitely wouldn't go back. Can honestly find the same things in Chinatown for half the price.
