Although this place has great variety of decor for all kind of events, the quality of products is below average. Also, some staff members were not helpful, and were somewhat moody.. We ordered helium balloons - they were beautiful and looked great during the event, but next morning they were all on the floor. Cashier asked if I want to pay extra so the balloons could last longer. Since I needed them specifically for the event, I didn’t see a point to pay extra. However, that would have been nice if they were as beautiful the next day too. I’ve heard that at other places, where the price range is quite the same they don’t charge extra, yet their balloons last much longer! Will come back to this place if need some decor, but won’t order balloons there.

Their prices are amazing and so much cheaper compared to Party city. They even have more party stuff. The girls there were very nice and helpful. We were running late on the last minute to prepare balloons and confetti canon for our Baby gender reveal party. They accomodated all of our requests and very fast. Highly recommended this place if you want to get cheap and beautiful party decor.

Last year, Mel's collection brought me out of the downtown core in search of a wide variety of decorations, and exactly what a needed right before a large New Year's Party. Not only was he and his staff helpful with navigating his store, but he assisted me working within my client's budget. Mel just called me - a year later - to follow up on this year's New Years Eve decor needs, and I haven't had customer service like that from any supplier I use. 10/10, would recommend to any planner in the city.

I am not sure what the below reviewer is talking about as I've never had an experience like this at Party Supply Depot. I find her review totally inaccurate and perhaps she was having a bad day. Everyone who works here has always greated me with great respect. Been very helpful and always has taken the time for me. I am thankful for a smaller party store that doesn't have a big box attitude. They have so many great ideas and suggestions.

This place has alot of party supply's and costumes available. The ballon selection is great and always get the coating even if you don't want to pay. Most of the time they last a week or two. Order ahead to avoid having to wait for balloons and they do a great job of presenting them.

The only convenience of this place is its closeness to our house. Otherwise the store is a complete rip off especially when it comes to balloons. They always ask you if you want the helium to last more than 12 hours. If you say yes they will charge you more for a balloon that has more “helium”. Other party supply places like Party City just have regular helium that lasts for days. These guys, if you choose their basic helium option, you’re getting mostly air and their balloons falls after 8 hours.

I went in there and waited for someone to assist to me. Everyone working there in the store passed me and went to (and I hate saying this but this actually happened) anyone that was white. I was there waiting longer than everyone else, I was going to give more business than the other people they attended to and I got ignored and stared down, and given their attitude, I knew it was because the colour of my skin. I left and started saying how ridiculous this was, and then a lady who worked there turns and asks me if I'm ok from across the store. I just walked out of there and ended up at buying somewhere else. The lady that asked me if I was ok, passed me 4 times, stared me down and went to a white couple before asking me that. I was trying to find a costume for my 4 year old, the couple was looking for fish net stockings and bunny ears. The first time I was in this store was about 2 years ago, there was a lady that was speaking to her daughter about a costume that she was trying on. The mother and daughter were speaking to each other in Russian. There was a staff member that went to the owner and told the owner or manager (the older heavier guy with glasses) what the mom and her daughter were discussing. Apparently the mother was telling her daughter that she could get the costume cheaper somewhere else. Did this old man not pull her aside and try to lecture her and embarrass her and say "You come into my store and start telling people where they can get my items cheaper, you are so disrespectful", this lady was talking to her daughter, the staff member that worked there had no business even listening. People will shop around to save themselves some money, this guy is clearly stupid, not customer orientated and his attitude isn't worth you spending your money there, I cant stand that old man. Honestly go anywhere but this place. I ended up going to party packagers and found some stuff to be cheaper. ANYWHERE BUT HERE PEOPLE!

this place is honestly amazing with so much variety! however, the crusty old cantankerous women that worked there this past saturday really brought down my mood and made me feel uncomfortable. and no, this isn’t the first time i’ve been here, raised in thornhill since birth and have been coming on occasion for years, everyone who works here day night or weekend has always been so grumpy... maybe try hiring some people who enjoy to do customer service, it really does make a difference!

Went to the store to get some balloons and filled. Half of the balloons they filled are already more than half deflated about 4 hours after they inflated them! ???? they were also more expensive than other stores to blow up balloons

What a gem of a place, Mel is such a treat to see and speak to every time I visit. They have a variety of products with great pricing. The store has a lot of options through out. They have crazy sales so check them out for that as well. Their Helium Balloon variety is the best I've seen. I come here for all my event shopping!

Only go for the ease of loot bags, if you don't have time to make them. Everything else is expensive. Even loblaws has cheaper themed plates, spoons, cups, etc. by 33%! Yea, do your Maths. Never going back here.

I've bought party supplies here and there's a great selection of products. I was more recently here to buy a Halloween costume for my toddler. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Just be warned that it's $10 to fill a balloon with helium if you didn't buy it there. $10 for HELIUM!!

A little pricey for some of the party supplies which can be found cheaper at big box stores but the overall availability of themed party goods cannot be mistaken. Its worth a visit after you've made your rounds elsewhere to get the precise supplies you need for the perfect party. Store is organized by events which include everything you can think of and there's a large array of foil balloons at the front. Helium is available.

The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. The selection of party options is great. From religious parties to super heroes they have everything from loot bag toys to bowls for serving and all the decorations you could need! Last year I splurged for "the good stuff" when getting helium balloons and they stayed up for a month!

I bought helium tank to fill 15 balloons. Eventhough it says it can fill 15 on the package, it doesnt and eventhough it says last for 12 hours, it lasted just for 6. Dont buy

I will never step foot into this store again. They are not customer service driven at all. I was in to help a friend who was in need of an item to finish her sons costume. It was a $1.99 item, I asked that since I am getting it for someone else, if it was not what she wanted, could she come in and exchange it for another one (I knew that they don't do returns). The lady answered me with an interrogation into why she just doesn't come n herself. I explained that was trying to "help" a friend and save her the trip. Her answer was that it was only $1.99 so it wasn't a big deal. Meaning, they still wouldn't exchange it, but that my friend could come in and buy another one. There are lots of party supply places in town, I know form having driven around all week to find my own sons Halloween costume. These guys are not even competitive with their prices so I feel no love lost in my decision to shop elsewhere from now on. I have run a business before, and we too had store policies. There were times however when we did accommodate customers in an effort to provide good service. We also recognized that that $1.99 item was not worth loosing a customer over.

Everyone is always so helpful and friendly at the Party Depot. I go there often for various events and party needs. Their prices may be slightly higher than other stores on some items, but their quality is reliable and the staff is very knowledgeable about their products. They are my go-to for balloons and party needs.

Our sincerest of gratitudes to Karen, who had helped us inflate our balloons for our baby shower. It was our first time bringing in 45cm balloons to be inflated and we weren't sure what to expect, but Karen went the extra mile to make sure all of our balloons came out perfectly. She was honest, professional and she helped us with everything that we needed. We couldn't have asked for better service. We will be back soon!

I described them in 3 words….bad quality,, relatively expensive, and the worst customer service! We have been there two days in row to order balloons for my sons birthday and picked them up next day! We dealt with two mature ladies and the younger one was even worse and unprofessional! They really changed our good mood! Most balloons were also flattered in 6 hours!

Been here a few times and each time gets worse and worse with customer service. Recently had bad customer service. Walked in, no greeting was made when I stood at the counter. I asked if they sold balloon dots or strips and the lady just shook her head saying “nope we don’t sell those” (weird since they sell so many balloons and are a party store). When I asked where I could buy them, she said in a curt tone “couldn’t tell ya” without even looking at me whilst walking past me. Maybe she had a bad day but being rude to customers doesn’t help. This is why people shop at Amazon. So disappointing. I’m only giving it to two stars instead of one because if you need something in a pinch and nothing else is around at least you could try there.

I've been purchasing the 'home use' helium tanks that they sell. The last time my tank ran dry, I returned to the store to buy a new one and the store clerk let me leave my old tank for recycling. (since I am a good customer who keeps buying them!) This time, I got some major attitude from a different staff member (probably the owners daughter) and she refused to let me leave my empty tank. I will not be buying anything from this store again!

Fantastic! They have a large variety of quality party essentials. For a 75th birthday celebration, I purchased a bouquet of balloons, plus a Happy Birthday lawn sign and other supplies. The ladies were very helpful with their advice and patiently answered all my questions - even when I called prior to coming. Apparently, if you want the balloons to last longer, they charge an additional fee to coat the inside of the balloons …hopefully they will last. Either way, I highly recommend coming here. The only caveat is that they have terrible hours, closing daily at 5pm.

I would give them zero stars but I don’t have that option. Besides the high prices for cheap quality party decor, the customer service is disgusting. I’ve been here twice and BOTH times the old woman with glasses and short funky hair was absolutely DISGUSTING. The last time I stepped foot in this place, I waited for 20 minutes in the costume area for someone to provide assistance..I was the ONLY one in the store with my fiance. A younger lady finally woke up out of her daydream to assist and this older lady with short funky hair and glasses tags along - who I have encountered before and is just a miserable witch! She is not helpful and not kind and should not be working there if she hates it so much. The first thing she said was “umm okay but we’re closing soon”....YOU HAVE 30 MINUTES UNTIL CLOSE and I asked for ONE item that was in the back room YOU LAZY PIECE OF.....................if i could just grab it off the shelf then obviously I would.

I found this place because the partycity does not have helium. And I was very surprised to see that they have all we needed for the party, besides a large selection of balloons and having helium to fill them with (dah). They have all colors of plates, cups, spoons, etc. I would say same price than partycity, but less crowded, no lines in the cash register, and people that actually know and reply to questions (dah)... I ordered 12 balloons in different colors and they arrange them so beautifully. I just had to pick them up and they were all nicely arranged. When my husband when for pick up, they explain to him how to untie them, because they had a clip to make them longer, etc. that shows they care about your party. So for that I give 5 stars. I have been coming here for parties and larger family dinners for years. The owner is always helpful and friendly and the staff always make me feel like a wanted customer. Have to say I was “blown away” recently with the balloons I bought. I paid a little extra for the hi float and my balloons are still up strong two months after the party !!!! For sure it was worth the extra .50 !! Thanks so much guys and I will be sure to reccomend you to others. Keep up the great work

A decently large store, with everything you might ever need for a party. The store is divided into sections for different occasions ( birthdays, Jewish events, general and ...) With a good collection for Halloween although it is October now and I don't know if they have the costume section all year around. Everything is easy to find but it is not the cheapest options specially for more general items. For example you may find plain disposable plates cheaper at a dollar store but here you can find disposable plates that look really nice too. It is also really close to Cayne's housewares superstore, so if you need something else (like we needed a turkey carving knife) you can find in Cayne's.
