Dress was ordered with several others by the bride of a wedding party I was in from the sister company (Novella's, which received its own review), I was measured by their seamstress and the dress was ordered by her in the wrong size. The bride decided to do any alterations with Nuvon's. My fitting seemed rushed, while I was in the dress having alterations done and speaking to the woman about my dress she cut me off and began speaking in another language to a woman sitting down in the fitting area - completely unprofessional and disrespectful to the fact that that was my time with her to speak about my dress and what I wanted. When I got my dress back the hem line was not straight, it was shorter on the left side and longer on the right, as well as significantly longer in the back compared to the front. The dress was still a bit too tight and after having to wear it for 10 hours it was terribly uncomfortable and it felt as if the dress would literally burst at the seams - my concerns that I was trying to express when I was cut off by the woman doing my alterations. I would never use this company or its sister company because both of these companies offered a terrible experience.

They were absolutely amazing! Being a plus sized bride on a budget, I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to find a dress I liked in my size in time for my wedding. Nuvon went above and beyond in helping me find my perfect dress and having it tailored in time! I want to thank the whole team so much because they helped make my day so special!!!

Upon reading some of the past reviews, I was a bit wary of the store; however, I had a wonderful experience at Nuvon's Bridal! For me, I just needed to get my grad dress hemmed (9 layers including at least 6 layers of tool—so quite a hefty job), so I didn't actually buy a dress from this store. Kim, the staff member who assisted me was incredibly kind, professional, and skilled. I was also given a discount on the service! She even remembered me and which dress was mine when I returned to the shop 9 days later to pick up the dress. I would definitely recommend their hemming services—my dress turned out to be the perfect length! Not that I was looking too hard, but they have a lot of nice dresses in a variety of styles and colours as well.

very bad customer service. extremely unorganized and confusing. i came in over 3 times to pick up my dress and for alterations during which they lost my receipt, tightened my dress INSTEAD of loosening it, and when i came back a fourth time they charged me to loosen it although it was their mistake (as they tightened it) to begin with. would not recommend, dress is beautiful though.

After ordering my wedding dress from here I read a lot of bad reviews so I was kind of scared after. My dress came in and just went for my fitting today and it was amazing. Some of the alterations I wanted were already done and the rest will be done in two weeks. Amazing alteration prices, the cheapest I have seen and are good quality. My seamstress was amazing and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.

KIM IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. I was a COVID bride (2020) and decided to do a last minute backyard wedding on October 2, 2021. My original wedding dress did not suit our new plans, so I ordered a Revolve dress online… which did not fit me :( The Sunday before our wedding (t-minus 6 days) I went out in a panic to find a new dress. I was greeted by Kim, told her my timeline and she jumped in to help. After trying multiple dresses, she asked to see the picture of the Revolve dress and asked what I liked/disliked about it, so she could create it for me. I had my doubts that it could be pulled off, but she seemed confident and I was desperate. SHE DID IT. She completely transformed an off-the-rack into the perfect wedding dress for me and it fit like a glove! I cannot thank her enough for her amazing seamstress work and I received so many compliments on it. Thank you so so much Kim!

We were treated very well. The dress selection was the best in town. The uniqueness of the dress selection was great. Only complaint was that they didn't have an answering machine, so when I called closer to our date, it was a bit annoying to not be able to contact someone or leave a message.

We had a graduation dress altered there in August and it was such a positive experience! Elaine knew exactly what the dress needed and it was done in a few hours which fit our schedule since we were visiting from out of town and leaving the next day! Elaine was friendly and professional. We are so grateful to her as the dress is now a perfect fit! She deserves a free lunch from her boss ;)

Nuvon Bridal is a very very busy store and it is one of the best kept secret around town when it comes to evening dresses or bridal gowns at the best value. Unlike the usual retail shop where it offers highly decorative and spacious environment for occasional gowns, and charge you an arm or a leg for one gown, This place offers the best dresses at the most reasonable pricing. Their stock are 3 times the normal level and so the place is super cramp with brand new gowns everywhere. Definitely you will find everything you need. If you have the patience and time, then happy treasure hunt. Be patient , everyone there is hunting for their gowns at the best value. Owner Kim and her team are super nice and will be happy to serve everyone tirelessly.

Lots of selection, many different styles and colors and they can add an assortment of custom finishing products. Happy with everything about my dress except for the only disappointing part was when I went for my first fitting a month or so before my friends wedding the girl said I should take a couple inches off of the bottom and I said I didnt really want to ( I personally don't like when my shoes poke out of the bottom) and she was like "no no! I have seen too many times where people trip on it and rip their dress" and bends over and just cuts it off anyway... I was like oh okay cool. It's not like you can just undo that. So it was a little disappointing that I paid like $600 for my dress and she didn't even listen to the one thing I said I didn't want. Not that it looked awful or anything I just didn't really like that my shoes were now uncovered and I paid a lot of money so it would have been nice if she would have listened more to what I wanted considering I really didn't care about anything else and now when I look back at the pictures I see my shoes sticking out and I think about it every time. Other than that everything else was pretty good and It arrived in a timely manner.

I initially came to the store to purchase a dress for my eighteenth birthday (filipino debut), and unfortunately there were a lot of stores in the New Westminster area that had very restrained service due to the ongoing pandemic. Luckily, as I came into Nuvon’s, my worries went away as there was a lot of variety in the dresses they sell; color, sizing, etc! Since my body shape is not average as I am short and fairly overweight, I feel confident to say that I was comfortable in looking for a dress that felt right to me. Ming was very friendly in helping me with my decision, threw in a nice deal of shoes for me, and even had my dress ready a couple weeks prior to the expected pick-up month. Kim was also helpful as I came in for the final fittings and I am extremely satisfied with the final product. I will certainly recommend this place to my friends and family and encourage anyone else to give the store a visit!

I got my grad dress here in 2012 and my wedding gown in 2017. They are so accommodating and flexible. They listen to what you want and allow you to freely customize your dress. I repeat, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT WITH YOUR DRESS AND THEY CAN DO IT! I went to all the "big name" bridal stores in New West and Nuvon's was the only place where I fell in love with a wedding gown because I was able to get exactly what I wanted, unlike the other stores where what you see is what you get and you can't do anything to change the way it looks (unless you need it hemmed or taken in, but that's about it). Their prices are very reasonable and they deliver high quality dresses, whether it be on the rack or custom made. They are always current with the changing dress styles and have A TON of selection in a wide range of colours. I highly recommend this place :)

The best experience ever! I was in a rush and needed a dress for a wedding within a few days. I was so stressed going in because I was worried I wouldn't luck out. I was told to pick out any that I was interested in, and I fell in love with so many. Eventually I picked the one I was most interested in and the seamstress was in the store, took some measurements, and then the dress was ready for pick up within 2 days! It was perfect and I got very individualized service. Amazing! I really recommend this to anyone. I'm not from New West/BC at all but I would seriously come here again. Thanks Ming & seamstress! <3

Worst customer service and worst place to be at bad attitudes all they care about is money and they try to get the most out of u all I wanted done is to make my dress more fitted and add sleeves I ended up paying 800$ just for that plus didn’t even end up with good results. When I went for my measurements the lady that worked there said that she’s number one fashion designer in Vancouver and she does the best job but when I went to pick up my dress the buttons were falling into my hands . Besides that when I was picking up my dress they placed it in a plastic bag that just looks like a garbage bag and when I asked for a proper bag they said I had to pay extra and it was a wedding dress that should be placed in a good and safe bag without me asking. If u are thinking to go to this store pls don’t it is really bad there’s nothing good about it. RUDE PEOPLE

This wedding shop was a diamond in the rough! I have found everything I wanted in my dream wedding dress here (and that's saying something, after having shopped at 10+ wedding stores). I was lucky to have been attended to by a number of their staff, including Kim and Ming, who have been so accommodating with any other custom additions I wanted to have in my dress. But more importantly, the amount I paid for the custom dress I ordered FLOORED ME. I found my dress pretty early but didn't expect my custom order to have come so soon! I am so thankful that this store exists - I am currently looking for a second dress here ;). They also do bridesmaids dresses in ANY COLOR, and ANY STYLE for any of the dresses they have (which is a plus!).

This place is a scam. I purchased a $1200 dress and asked them to trim it. After charging me $75 for alterations and a long three weeks wait I called the store and they informed me the dress is ready. I went in the next day just to find out nothing was done in the last three weeks. They offered a one hour service and altered the dress there and then. It is done so unprofessionally that I ended up spending another $120 to fix it at another place. I’m so upset with their level of incompetency and unprofessionalism that I feel like suing them. Bad service, Bad quality, High prices????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Yes the prices are cheaper, for a reason. The dress came with fabric defects and runs, the alteration was an additional $75 and then my alteration was not done on time. After my frustration and yelling about how I needed it for the day they told me it would be ready they just forcefully zipped it up and tried to tell me they did alter it even though they originally said they hadn't yet. They don't speak English very well but I think they try and use this as a way to not have to deal with displeased customers. I had a lady behind me on one of the pick up days having the same problem.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I bought a dress and I wanted to have the top part altered. The Chinese seamstress told me of a certain style which l liked and agreed on it. She refused to put a pin in the dress unless I paid the amount in full, so I did. When I went to pick up the dress, the style was completely different from what we agreed on and it was done in a very cheap way which was very disappointing! To top it all off, the seamstress put her hands on my chest as she was helping me put the dress zipper up! AVOID GOING TO THIS STORE! Please read the negative reviews before stepping into this store. I got some gowns here. We tried them on and said I liked one style in two colours. I specified, same strap, same style, same back and which specific colours. One was supposed to be switched I said that's fine. When I came back for the fitting. The dresses were wrong. They said they would get it I said ok. Showed me the other dress, I had to tell them that was not the dress I paid for. Thr Kady asked if I had a picture. I said no because they have a sign written saying "no pictures" alterations took forever. I went to two other alteration places as I did not trust them doing anymore . Both said the sizes were way too big (size 16 when we needed a size 4!!) I don't shop for dresses a lot and I thought they would know what they were doing. The dresses were all wrong. We were tight on time and I couldn't keep going back and forth. I had to do a lot of the alterations myself as best I could besides the job I had done at another place. The waist bust was all wrong. We also got shoes that we were told were "dancing shoes" As a dancer I can tell you these are NOT "dancing" shoes. This cost me double what I paid to try to get them to fit. I should have listened to the reviews. I had such a great experience when I first entered. I'm disappointed I paid for a gorgeous dress and ir got swappes for an ugly version (I wasnt able to find the one I picked among the piles after but I had already paid and they have a no refund policy. ) My advice if you go here. Get your dress and take it with you somewhere else or you will probably not walk out with the one you paid for !

This shop has a variety of selections for prom dresses. Though the storefront is small, the interior has two floors of dresses in every size, shape and colour. The prices are very affordable and I was able to get my daughter's prom dress at a low price with tailoring included. The seamstress Kim was particularly polite and very helpful throughout the process of selecting, fitting and purchasing a dress.

Waste of time! Please do not buy from this store. I found a perfect dress for my prom at this store and i ordered it for one bigger size. I was fine with waiting for 2 months to get the dress but I was confused by how the dress looked when i came to pick it up. When i saw the dress, it looked really cheap from what i tried on before ordering the dress. I payed over $600 and it didn't look worth the money at all. I took the dress home to see what was wrong with it, and i realized that the dress was missing the rhinestones on the top so i dragged my mom with me immediately and returned the dress asking them to fix it as soon as possible. They gave me two more weeks to wait for the dress and now I'm waiting to pick it up. However, I know a friend from my school that also had problems with her dress at this store as well. Save your time and do not buy from this store!

Ordered Custom Bridesmaid dresses - + Great material and came in quicker then expected! Love the dress and the matching ties. Happy I didn't have to order online blindly. - Sizing was a big issue. I gave measurements of the bridesmaids (do not live local) and they cut the material to that measurement vs cutting the material to fit someone who IS that measurement. So NONE of the 5 dresses fit as they did not leave space for someone to move or breathe in the dress. Or they didn't leave space for two materials to connect which takes space - so it's all 1/4 to 1 inch too tight. When I ordered I also requested the bum area to be done looser, it is not. They also did not stitch the straps in, they were trying to be helpful, but now everyone's straps are going to be attached differently by a different seamstress. Ultimately, it will cost a lot for all the bridesmaids to have the full dress refitted vs normal alteration costs. Tried to talk to someone about this and they were uncooperative.

My friends and I had a great experience at Nuvon's. After looking at several other stores for her wedding dress, my friend found the perfect gown here, and Ming gave her a great deal, and some great tips on how to alter it. We followed up with another visit to get bridesmaids dresses and Ming helped us the whole time, while also giving the bride enough attention for her alterations. She was able to find dresses for different body types and make us all feel confident and happy. We were all very pleased with the service, selection and attention to detail. I was referred to Nuvon's bridal for alterations by their sister store on Hastings. I was super nervous because I wanted a lot of alterations done to create the dress of my dreams.... Elaine was my seamstress and she was INCREDIBLE. She took the time to listen to what I was asking for, got to know me as a bride, and was completely personable it was very refreshing! I gave Elaine my trust and had complete faith in her work. She even started to cut my dress on the spot (which to some people) would freak them out, but I loved her confidence! We bought our daughter’s grad dress here and it’s arrived super early as Jeanny put a rush to it. Everything looks even better than we imagined and we’ll go pick it up this upcoming week. Mia was also very helpful during the whole process and understanding of what style our daughter and us wanted. The atmosphere was friendly and they even threw in a little French greeting for us as it’s our first language. I recommend this store for any one looking for an event dress.

There is also such a great selection. They made the whole experience so stress-free. Some of the dresses are very nice. But they are so crammed together, and the building is very old so it has that old smell to it, none of the dresses are bagged either, and its very hard to get a good look at any of them, and youre tripping over dresses down all the isles. However, we didnt have an appointment, so the lady working was accommodating as possible; as she had fittings to attend to. She was incredible nice, and the shop is 2 floors so the bottom floor is all bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses. Very big collection.

I had my wedding dress altered here, as this shop was a partner of the shop where I bought my dress. Friendly staff, service was on time - but the quality of the alteration was...not that great. My dress is a little complicated with many layers, and paid $375 just for hemming. The front bottom of the skirt was not hemmed straight and the details like sawing technique seems quite rough for me. I adjusted bottom layers by re-sawing by myself. Other alterations like adding bustle and off-shoulder (costed extra $175) were okay, but I felt $375 just for the hemming was pricy for the quality. Also the dress wasn't steamed properly and I had to steam it by myself. Friendly staff though - hope the quality of service improves.

Kim is an amazing streamstress and I am really satisfied with the alterations to the dress. Jeany helped me with picking out a dress(I'm picky so it's a miracle I found something). A lot of hidden fees that were not mentioned in the first place. After we bought it, we complained that the fees were not mentioned, they said: hmm, that's weird, we should've mentioned? Anyways, there's these fees. They also lost the reference paper(that shows the dress's design etc.) attached to the dress and never bother to find it. I have took a look before it was lost, and I was sure that the actual dress came out differently, so I asked them to retrieve a copy or find it in the store. We waited in the store for an hour, and didn't see them making any effort to find it.

I am not very good with dresses, but when they said my dress needed to be fitted, it was fitted within four days. It may be because my dress is simple (which is the way I like my clothes) amongst many intricate and fancy dresses. From what I had observed, they were kind people, and I had enjoyed my time there.

I'm out giving Nuvon's a 1 because of how nice the male employee was. My friends an I went here to look for dresses for graduation, and yes they had a really large selection with beautiful dresses. I am 5'10 with an hour glass figure (38 inch bust, 39 inch hips and a 29 inch waist) and I wear size 8/10 pants and a medium shirt. I asked the older lady who worked there if I could try a blue size 10 dress on, She looked me up and down and then at the dress and told me I was too fat for this dress and I needed a size 16/18 and I was break the dress if I tried to wear it. I previously suffered from anorexia and this completely triggered me. I almost broke down in the store and my friends were shocked that she would even say that to a customer.

I had visited a few stores with appointments on the new west strip hoping to find 2 dresses for a last minute vow renewal that was a month away. I came across Nuvon’s on a busy Sat after no luck at other stores that were totally over priced and pushy sales staff. Upon entering Nuvons I was greeted and wow the selection was awesome, 2 floors jam packed full of dresses to choose from. The sales staff are also the seamstress which was so convenient. I was able to find both my dresses, wedding and reception dress and within budget ???? alterations were done at the store, from purchase to completion date was about 2.5 weeks. On my second visit to be measured up I brought along my 5 month old baby as I couldn’t get child care mid day and the staff there were so accommodating and pleasant about it. Amazing work ladies. I would highly recommend this store to grads, brides and their bridal party ???? 5/5 stars!!

The customer service here was amazing! Me and my friends made a quick appointment to come in and we were helped out so much in finding the right size and colour grad dress. A huge selection of dresses that was thankfully organized by colour. I was able to find my perfect grad dress. Kim helped me out with my alterations as well as finding my red dress. Highly recommend checking this place out, there is such a big selection and such great service and help in finding a style you want. The prices are exactly as you'd expect with the quality given.

They were great at taking our cash which I'm sure they didn't pay taxes on but that's it . Lost my daughters veil during second fitting then denied it . I spoke to a guy on the phone first and he was incredibly rude , spoke to the woman who did the alterations and wouldn't stop talking about how she should of charged for the alteration but didn't . No satisfaction , no I'm sorry , nothing but arguing . As you can see by the response below , customer service is awful , we didnt open the bag with the dress and the veil until the wedding as that is when you put it on ,, there would of been no reason to open it before .But just keep arguing with your customers . There is absolutely no reason for us to lie about a missing veil , the dress and veil was in two places , the closet and your shop , magical elves didnt take it out of the closet so where does that leave ? We had to run last minute to metrotown to get a veil , literally two hours before the wedding . You should be ashamed of yourselves . We informed you days after the wedding ? Liars , we called you the morning of the wedding when the veil was missing from the dress bag.

I bought a dress and when i came back a week before my prom there was damage to the dress and the asian woman told me that I had gained weight and I should do sit ups, work out AND not eat lunch/dinner for a whole week to lose 5 pounds. The dress fit perfectly fine 3 weeks before and I had room in the dress and all I wanted was for her to add a rhinestone belt on and she told me that the zipper wouldnt go up and that i had to pay $85 for a corset back. Once I got home my friends managed to zip up the dress perfectly fine.

Do Not Buy! Customer service is extinguishingly different before and after you pay. The owner, Kim, will scam you with lots of hidden cost. Their gowns are exposed to dust, no original tag, some look like consignment, prices are randomly hand written. Some of the labels on the dress have Chinese characters, I found the same dress elsewhere with a much better price afterwards and of course NO REFUND or EXCHANGE. The original stiches ripped and the sparkling piece fell off on my big day!! Kim accumsed me of putting on weight, she refused to admit it's their quality/unnecessary poor alteration issues. She's very uncooperative in making things work! Any issue, it's the customer's fault, she will lie and make up her side of stories. You end up paying more to fix their bad quality, don't do alterations here either, they don't deliver on time and making mistakes, I had to get the dress fixed elsewhere. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE!!

They said they'll order a new dress but they didn't so my friend ended up getting a new dress and when she found a new dress she asked if anyone from our school had this style and they assured her that no one ordered it from our school but yea gurl later on found out that she had a matching dress with her friend!!! At first when you’re trying on dresses they were very accommodating - making sure it was the right fit, and did everything they could to make you happy. Then they lie about the pricing mentioning they will only charge you a certain amount for alterations. Until you purchase the dress and then do the alterations, they make up that you need to do this and that and add to the cost. You’ve already paid for the dress at that point and you need to look as best as you can on your best day, daughters wedding etc., so they make you feel inclined that you need to do the fixes. After you do and if you’re not happy with it, they say “it’s suppose to be like that and we can’t change it.” They’re sneaky and my mom was super unhappy and she did not ask for a lot. My moms dress was only about $250 and because of the price they didn’t want to spend the time to get it right. We paid and the owner Kim would not adjust and said just take it or leave it. Ridiculous. Never go here, you’ll get your hopes up and then be super disappointments.

Was in a bridal party that got dresses made by this store. First off the store was a mess the counters had old tim Hortons containers and papers everywhere. They would call and say dresses were ready, and when we would go to try them on they would make us wait over 40 minutes before telling us they couldn't find them and we'd have to come back. Made some dresses too small and tried to ask us to "suck in our bellies" all day so they wouldn't have to correct the alterations. I give one star because the only Good thing is they knew what really counted-the brides dress turned out perfectly. While the bridal party looked good in pictures, there were many issues. some ended up too big, some had ripped lining on the inside getting caught in their heels all day, and one had wires ripping through to the outside and exposed through the top of the dress. Groomsmen suits were also mis measured and some ended up with pants too short and vests way too tight. The other star i give because they are nice enough people, but need to get professionalism and organization in order before I would recommend anyone to their business.

I purchased this dress through the wedding expo in Edmonton,AB. I fell in love with a dress.. however discovered a run in the skirt. They offered to order me a new one, and being that my wedding is at the end of May guaranteed it would be here no later than April 25th, but that it would more likely be here begining of April/end of March. So I agreed. Fast forward to middle of April, I hadn't heard from the company at all so I figured I'd check in to see what the ETA of my dress was. Was told by the first lady on Monday that she would call me back that day, never heard from her. Called back Tuesday, 2nd lady stated that they had not received the dress from China yet and that her manager would be calling in to see where it was and they would call me back the next day, No call received so called back towards the end of their work day on Wednesday talked to lady #1 again who said she was going to look through the boxes they had received today and call me back in 20 min, she never called back. Called back Thursday talked to Charles (the guy in charge of ordering the dresses) he said he was going to contact his supplier and call me back by the end of the day. Left a voicemail saying that it might be in next week if not hopefully the week after (my wedding is in 32 days at this point!) Called him back the next day letting him know that that was not okay and that if my dress wasn't here by Friday April 28th (3 days after promised date) That I expected a full refund of my money. He replied with I'll call you Tuesday. Luckily (or so I thought) my dress arrived at their shop in BC Monday morning. I gave him my address again for it to get shipped to me. It arrived in my mailbox yesterday as a COD parcel, having to pay yet another $35 to receive my dress... my dress is not the same dress I tried on at the wedding expo.. It looks like a cheap knock off of the dress I tried on. However with there only being 28 days until the wedding I am forced to try and make it work (I'll find out from my seamstress today if I can make it work) I wish I could post pictures of the dress for you to see the differences.. I was also charged $50 for 2 extra pieces of lace so that I could add material to the front to have less cleavage. I was sent floor scrap pieces of lace.. I am completely dissatisfied with this company! Do NOT order through this company!!

Horrible! They can not meet deadlines, told me my alterations would cost another $100 when they told me they would do it for free if I paid them the extra cost to change a colour of my dress. Then they messed up my measurements, so They told me to pay for alterations when it was a custom order so I argued them and they said okay come in by Monday (2 days later) and I came in at Monday and they said it’s not done yet and to come in tomorrow. Keep in mind i live an hour drive away so I already drove there 3x. Extremely upset w this shop. Plus they will try to find ways to scam your money, do not trust them. They may seem sweet st first but it’s all an act.

Very rude. I got my dress taken in and she told me to come back in 2 days. When I came back to try it on she it was to small and she told me that I was way too fat, and i quote " you eat to much, maybe you should skip dinner for a while. I am even more angry that she told me that I needed to pay an additional $80.00 to fix it, even though she was the one who made it to small. Here's a realistic review: very pathetic customer service and poor organization Literally waited over 40 mins just to get my dress fitted because they couldn't find my dress when before hand they should have it ready on the day of because isn't that what the point of calling in a week before? I was forced to pay $175 for alterations and the ladies there don't know what the meaning of privacy is when you change. The lady saw me shirtless 3x and didn't even apologize or tell you that they want to open the fitting room, they just open it in the midst of changing. I felt violated and uncomfortable. Once my dress was altered I had to come again for fitting and you can literally see the stitches pulling!! My mom complained to the owner and she said to go tell the other girl and not her. A tip if you still want your business to be in good shape, treat your customers with respect and consider our criticism and complaints because we are paying good money for a simple dress and I could've invested my money in a better store if I knew that my time is going to be wasted and disrespected. They don't do a good job with alterations and waste your time even more by making you wait and wait until they take care of other customers before you. Do yourself a favour and don't come to this store unless you want to get scammed and disrespected.

Just took my wedding gown home from Nuvons bridal. It is the dress of my dreams at 1/4 of the price compared to klienfields. They have an extensive selection of ballgowns, much larger than the rest of Columbia street. Bohemian, elegant, showstopper, timeless, romantic, and over the top. They literally have something for every bride. And very accommodating. With Covid 19 many of the other shops I tried gowns at had a 3-5 dress maximum. At nuvons I was allowed 7-9 and witnesses staff steaming and sanitizing the gown after tried it on. On my final fitting there was one other bride trying on her gown; I was offered, at the door, to use the western side fitting room for a safer and more private experience. Needless to say I want IMPRESSED with the Covid protocols. My gown was tailored perfectly and I am now ready for the micro wedding of my dreams. Thank you so much for giving me the ‘say yes to the dress’ moment that every bride deserves.

I was supposed to get my dress last April to have enough time for alterations before our wedding but unfortunately due to covid-19 most of the stores have closed. Good thing I found this place last June and Kim assisted me. She is very helpful, accommodating and assured me I can have the dress on time. My daughter’s prom dress was ruined by them. The height was cut short to regular height and with the heels , it was way over short and the train was cut and it looked awful. The halter strap was not adjusted and it was way too deep. And the breast cup was bigger. we’ve asked them to fix it, but they asked us to pay more and once we’ve denied additional payment, they claimed it’s not fixable. Bad customer service and they ruined my kids’s Big day. Think twice before using their service.

I went into Nuvon's after seeing an ad on Facebook for their sale. I already had a simple wedding dress but decided to go in to see if I could find anything better. The seamstress that helped me was incredible. She brought out dresses that did well with my body shape and when I asked for other styles she brought them out quickly and expertly. I found a dress I liked but felt that it was a little boring on the top. I liked the 3D flowers on another dress so she told me that she could order in the flowers and handsew them onto the other dress for me!! I was ecstatic. Mind you, this was all a whopping 2 weeks before my wedding. She made alterations and had me come back for a 2nd fitting, tailoring the length and back for me just as I asked for. The dress ended up fitting me like a glove. When I went to pick it up, she told me she had stayed up late the night before and morning of to finish sewing the flowers on. The dress was so gorgeous I almost cried and it made me feel like a true princess on my special day. Thank you SO MUCH, Nuvon's Bridal. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Dont go there for a dress! For a simple dress they put up the highest price and try to gauge you as much as possible! Got a dress there and they told me it would take long to do alterations and that they have a lot of dresses to go through. Within the same day, I went back tried to return it (because i found a better dress) but they tried to cut parts and make it look like they did alterations on it before they brought it to me, so i couldnt get the dress i wanted for grad/prom and i wasted too much money on the first dress so not enough money to buy another. Told them that this isnt the dress i wanted and explained to them that i found another dress that i love a lot but they just want your money and told me that its too late because they did "alterations." Talked to other customers in the store who are waiting for their alterations and they told me that they bought it months ago (even before i bought it) and they haven't even got a single alteration on their dress. People may say they have okay dresses but they over charge the prices of the dresses and they have horrible skills for alterarions. One of the ladies was altering the girls dress by making it short and she didnt even pin the dress she just cut started cutting the dress with a pair of scissors, no measurement no plan of what it would look like, she just cut. In the end, the dress was curved. One side was shorter than the other and she did not get any tail for her dress.

They do have a good selection of dresses, but if you need any alterations made, go elsewhere! Their seamstress Vanessa completely butchered my wedding dress, instead of taking off extra fabric from the back, she cut the top of shoulders which raised the dress. I told her that it was very tight when she put the pins in, but she said it's supposed to be like that and that it will turn out well. She had my dress for 2 weeks and did not call me once to come and try again. When I came to pick up my dress she was not even there! I could barely zip up my dress, my waistline was pressing on my rib cage, and I told the owner that I could barely breathe! The owner started arguing with me that it is the fabric and a dress design and that it does not look tight. I was completely dumbfounded by this! Well, how am I supposed to spend the whole day in a dress in which I cannot breathe and I am not even able to fully raise my arms??? Other Customers in the fitting area were appalled by how the Owner was handling this. Then she suggested that their seamstress would come in a couple of days and loosen up the shoulders and that I could come back in a few days to get the dress. I asked how is she going to fix it if she is not here to see what needs to be fixed? Owner said that the seamstress was a professional and she will understand what needs to be done after she explains it to her! This is absurd! It was not a $50 dress, it was my wedding dress! Fixing based on the words of someone who doe snot even see what was done wrong?! I did not want to take any more chances with them, and I did not want to get into a huge fight over my wedding dress - not the perfect memory of the wedding preparations. Nuvon did not return me the alteration fees, they said I had to pay the balance of the dress if I wanted to leave the store with the dress! I paid, took my dress and got it fixed at another salon, and they did an amazing job! Exactly what needed to be done from the very beginning - cutting off extra fabric from the back. Nuvon had some cuts left, so another seamstress was able to put those pieces of fabric back into shoulders, where they did not have to be cut from at all! So, please go to professionals if you need any alterations done for the dresses you get at this store! And I asked them when I got the dress if I would get a nice bag for it, I was assured that I would. They would order it from Calgary but they should have it by the time I pick up my dress after alterations? Guess what? They forgot to order the bag! So they placed my dress in a white garbage bag!

Great customer service! I went there 2 and a half weeks before my brothers wedding and everywhere else told me I would have to buy off the rack and that I might have time for alterations. Nuvon’s had my dress altered and added straps in 10 days! It was the perfect dress and I loved it so much!

This shop has a very large selection of dresses. Personally, I went to many dress shops and only this one had enough variety to suit my needs. The prices were also very affordable, in comparison to my friends who visited other shops for prom dresses of which were significantly more expensive. My niece bought a dress online. The dress picture was nice on the website, but when the dress arrived, it was a totally different thing. So she ordered one from Nuvon last minute with only 3 weeks left before her grad. The dress arrived on time as promised. The alteration cost was extra, but they did everything perfectly. Kim is an absolute wizard with alterations! I came in with my dress and she did wonders on it but then I found out I was pregnant! She was able to let out both sides, change the cups and added a little extra wiggle room to accommodate for additional growth and also for when I’m sitting to be comfy. She made me feel excited, happy and eager to come for each appointment and was so happy to hear the good news of the baby. There were soooo many dresses here to choose from. The staff was very helpful and patient; not pretentious like some other places. Jeany & Vanessa helped pick out the grad dress initially and convinced us that they were able to work their magic to take in/hem the dress. It was a such a good price that we couldn't resist. We purchased a beautiful dress that was a size 12 and Kim took it in all the way to a size 4. She is an amazing seamstress because now, it looks like the dress was custom made for my daughter. At the final fitting and pickup, Kim made a few minor adjustments while we waited. We are so happy with the results and will definitely be going back there in the future for all our formal wear.

It’s 3 months to my wedding and because I trusted Nuvon’s Bridal instead of going with the Bridal Gallery - I literally don’t have a wedding dress. They measured me in December and told me my dress would be ready for a fitting end of February. End of March/beginning of April I get a call that it’s ready. I went to try it on and noticed it was stained in 2 places. I thought no big deal I’ll get them to dry clean it. Although this fact alone was highly unprofessional. The dress wasn’t even pressed. Then I tried it on... and there are no words for what was made. I ordered a simple, tight fitting crepe dress, with a very low back, long arms, and boat neck front. What I got was a huge bag, that was so big I needed to hold it up to keep it on. Just a complete hack job. Nothing like what I had originally tried on in Decemeber. In the details...it was missing all the covered buttons down the back and the bow, I paid $100 for, wasn’t made. They insisted this wasn’t my dress because it was such a mess. But they later admitted it was and would remake it. I would NOT make the same mistake twice - I got my money back. Now I’m sans dress and short on time. Terrible experience! I can’t believe this happened. Go somewhere reputable with all the bells and whistles (it’s generally not my thing but for a wedding dress it’s a must - what would you do if you never got the wedding dress you ordered... a COMPLETE REDO? A real reality at this place). BUYER BEWARE

I was immediately greeted by Ming who approached me with a warm & friendly smile. She was attentive, listened to my preferences and selected a few dresses for me to try on. I had full confidence in Ming’s expertise so I ended up purchasing my dress there. Went back several times for simple alternations and dress accessories. Everything went smoothly. Ming has been a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. So patient, helpful & offered great advice that made me look & feel beautiful & confident on my special day. I'm forever grateful! I was a little leery when I first visited as I had read some bad reviews of this store in the past. I think they have turned things around for the most part. I bought my wedding dress here and it is the most beautiful gown, and at an excellent price. It was at least $300 cheaper than something comparable at the Bridal Gallery, and included the alterations (which are usually another $100-200 more) so I probably saved about $500. Sure it's not the fancy experience you get at other stores, but I am happier that I saved more money. It's more like stumbling onto a store in Chinatown with great product. I did worry that the alterations might not turn out right but they did, and I had planned well in advance in case they didn't. So if you want the peace of mind and to be treated like a princess, go with another store, but if you want a beautiful dress at a great price, go to Nuvon's. And no, they don't really take appointments. You just show up whenever and hope you can get a spot in their dressing room.

We made an appointment here just like the other two places and I'm sorry to say it was not for us. We were told to start trying on dresses with no help navigating sizes or styles which was difficult with the dresses being jam packed together and the isles very tight. It was nearly impossible to browse. Downstairs was worse. The consultant was no where to be seen. Prices were on the high end so we just left.

Bought a bridesmaid dress here back in June, had to get it realteted twice, which was quite expensive for alterations, there were two PROMINENT stitching lines that looked awful after it got altered, and then the day of the wedding the dress didn't even make it down the aisle with beads starting to fall off, half were gone by the end of the night... I even sent them an email telling them how disappointed I was with the quality and alterations for them to completely ignore me and never respond. DO NOT BUY HERE, over-priced and poor quality

They are both very patient, especially for a bride who is quite picky and wants things perfect, and are both easy to talk to, making it easy to convey what I really want. Mia, was the one who helped me fit the gowns. She puts extra care and attention to detail when I was trying on gowns. I love how she was very helpful and polite when dealing with us. I was early for my appointment yet they still accommodate us. There's a thousand of beautiful gowns to choose from. If you saw a sleeveless gown and wanted to add a sleeve they will do it for you. Kim helped me a lot as well when I was fitting the gown. Kim and Mia are the asset of this store as they both know how to deal with the guests and how to make them happy. They made me say yes to the dress :)

It’s totally out of character for me to leave bad reviews but their bad service was so bad I knew I had to this for others to be aware. When we entered the shop, the very first thing they said was “we will close in 30 mins”. Neither hi’s nor hello’s were given by them. We get it they must be tired and they probably thought we would try on some few gowns but we told them that we’re not going to do that. We made known to them that we just wanted to know a) how flexible their sizes are, b)what are the terms of purchase-if they do offer rentals and c) if they can show us how this specific color we are looking for actually looks like. The lady was clearly uninterested and she told us to go downstairs where the bridal gowns are. So as we were going down we asked her the questions and even pointed the very first dress we saw if this was indeed the color we needed since it looked so similar with other shades. We were shocked to see that she actually didn’t come with us and just left us as we were asking her questions. We went up right away because it was clear she didn’t want to help us. She acted like she didn’t do anything wrong when we saw her upstairs.The wedding is on the 22nd of September and we would get it if she would politely tell us they couldn’t cater us but she was just very apathetic and rude. We had all the intention to buy a dress since the date is so soon but I’m glad she showed us bad service at the very beginning so I know that I should avoid getting any service from them.

I had great pleasure meeting Kim for the 1st time!! My best girlfriend bought 2 beautiful delicate lacy dresses for her son's upcoming wedding. The dresses needed alterations. Being a first time future mother-in-law, she's been quite stressed about the perfect fitting of her dresses. Kim came highly recommended so we decided to give it a try. Kim was very warm and friendly!! My best girlfriend was quite concerned about the delicacy of fabrics but Kim was very gentle and quick. She took the time to explain the how and why approaches she would be taking to help ease my best friend's worries. Kim was very patient and professional throughout. Amazingly, she was able to alter the 2 dresses in less than a week! Kim was very caring, prompt and detailed! The dresses look beautiful on my best girlfriend!! One star is way too generous for this place. The owner is a scammer. I don't typically write reviews, but I do not want any other bride to go through this same experience that I had. Being fitted for your dress should be a fun experience that you can remember with your mom and your friends and that was not the case for me when I came in and the owner said I shouldn't bring anyone else with me to try on dresses because everyone has different views. Plus I told her a particular dress in the front they had for display which fit the style I was hoping for . Right away she told me it cost $2800 then told me to order it right away today to get a discount to $1500 without letting me trying it on. This is a real red flag so I decide to leave right away.

Kim is an amazing lady. I brought my wedding dress to get alteration done from there cuz my friend bought her dress from Nuvon's. My wedding dress is too simple for me, the back is beautiful, but the front is not that great. i asked Kim if she could make some changes, so she suggested to make a V neck, and adjust the shoulders to off shoulder, and put some sparking in the front to make it a little bit special. I just handed everything to her, and let her do whatever she thinks are the best. I was a bit worried at first, but when i saw the dress, it's perfect. My friend is really happy with her dress too. I also bought my shoes there, didn't pay attention to the heels, when i went to pick up my dress, and mentioned it to her, she said she would fixed it and delivered to my home. surprisingly i received my shoes two days later on a heavy snow day. I read some bad reviews on Yelp about Nuvon's, and a bit worried at first, but my experience is amazing. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Kim for such a wonderful experience.

I am giving this place 4 stars. While I didn't end up buying my grad dress here (I found a great deal elsewhere) they were very polite and willing to bargain (she offered me a dress that was tagged at $550 for $350 because I came when they weren't busy) she also does all the alterations herself and you can basically design your own dress with colour and type of material. (I'm not sure how good she is) The negatives were that I found the girl quite pushy as well as telling me I looked great in everything however when I showed her a dress from another store asking her for an alteration quote she said she didn't like the dress and gave me a rediciously high quote. The store also wasn't the cleanest or most organized.

Came in for a prom dress and was shocked by the selection of styles and sizes for me to try on. I'm a size 12 and was expecting to need to order my size in the style that I would end up wanting. When I found the style I wanted, I had the choice to change the fabric and colour to make it perfect for me. I chose the exact dress I tried in the same colour and fabric. I was very lucky because I didn't need any alterations on the bodice. I chose a sparkly belt to add to the dress as well. When I came back with my heels I didn't need alterations on the length either! Overall, I found the perfect dress for my prom and their service was perfect for me.

Our bridal party consisted of 16 people in total. At least 12 of us had to get resized and altered at a different location because they did such a poor job They conveniently forgot to tell us the ties were rentals, and wanted to charge us an extra $40 for each tie to keep them 2 of the groomsmen, on seperate occasions, went during their open hours to find the store closed and no one inside. Would give them 0 stars if possible.
