Shopped here today for the first time.. Bought some coach high tops and a vintage fur sweater jacket that came with a matching scarf and gloves. Both were such awesome deals. Luckily I live up the street now!

I was in the store a couple of days ago and found it to be way over crowded. Owner has the right to run her store as she wishes but it is definitely more of a thrift store. So sad to see grand central to have gone that way

One of my favorite shopping spots. Pros: Clothes are used, but overwhelming majority of cloths look as new. Overall, it's a consignment store with better quality cloths than an average thrift store. Moreover, it's a great variety of medium-to-plus size clothing. The owner is a very friendly and wonderful women. Cons: the collection can be good or bad -- it fully depends on your luck. But that's true for any consignment store! Also, while majority of items are very reasonably priced, some prices can be high without any reason (at least I am not able to notice one)

My experience going their shop was absolutely great.They gave me pretty good deals which other consignment store doesnt. Warm and sweet staff especially Ms.Celeste i love her..I would recommend this shop to others who is looking for a classy pieces of jewelries and clothes.

On a Saturday afternoon I entered the store, carrying some groceries. I was hoping to find a dress for an event I was invited to. I had about an hour to spend looking for one. When I entered, the store had no customers and there was a woman by the cashier; I asked her where the dresses are. Immediately she told me that they are upstairs but she said I wouldn’t “appreciate” her items since I looked like I was in a rush. She kept going saying that if I really wanted to shop at her store, I should return when I had more time and less groceries in my hand. During her rant, she never asked me how much time I had or what I was looking for; she went on to say that she knew this by the way l looked While she was giving me a piece of her mind, another woman entered with bags in her hand but was not stopped. The only difference here is I am brown and she is white. In conclusion, I will never shop in that store again.

The staff of Grand Central Consignment are compassionate and understanding. I deeply appreciate their kindness shown towards my gender transitioning. I love the variety of the clothes especially the skirts . Celeste is marvellous and has helped me immensely with her knowledge in my journey in becoming a new woman. Thankyou

Staff was insensitive at the least but leaned more towards outright trans phobic. Called me out in front of all the other customers. I guess you shouldn't shop there unless you fit into their idea of what a customer should be. I can't support a store that would hire someone who demeans a potential and past customer like that.

My experience very closely matched earlier reviews from Katie and Genevieve. I never received an item list as promised and had to finally request one. After 4 months and only a few things sold, I tried on many occasions to come in to get paid and retrieve my remaining items. Celeste eventually said she could not do that as it was too time consuming to pull the items from the floor. Mid summer after more requests, I received some items back but was told there were likely some missing which there were and more than she indicated. Luckily I kept very good records and was able to ascertain what was sold, returned and missing. This whole thing became a laborious process that took over 13 months and during this time only 8 items were sold, 9 returned and 7 were identified as missing and probably stolen. I settled with the owner and for the 7 missing items I received $19.20 (she initially offered $9.60). One of these items was a jacket with a retail value of $275 that she had priced at $55.00. I received rock bottom prices for every item and there is no way to prove what she even actually sold them for. I wish I had just donated to a charity and saved myself the hassle for the few measly dollars I received.

BEWARE OF THIS STORE OWNER! PLSE BE CAREFUL WHEN CONSIGNING WITH HER. I HAD A WHOLE BUNCH OF NICE, HARDLY WORN DRESSES WHICH SHE DONATED WITHOUT ASKING ME OR LETTING ME KNOW. SHE SAID SHE DID NOT WANT TO SPEND TIME SANITIZING DUE TO COVID-19 SO SHE JUST DONATED THEM. SHE JUST WANTED ME TO UNDERSTAND AND NOT SAY ANYTHING. AT FIRST I DID NOT SAY MUCH BUT AFTER TALKING TO MY FRIENDS WHO ALSO CONSIGN AT OTHER PLACES, I REALIZED WHAT SHE HAD DONE WAS VERY WRONG. WHEN I QUESTIONED HER, SHE SENT ME E:MAILS TELLING ME "THIS IS NOT HOW ADULTS BEHAVE" AND WHEN I TOLD HER THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINTS ABOUT HER, SHE TELLS ME "IT IS PEOPLE LIKE ME and THEM WHO SIT BEHIND THEIR COMPUTERS AND CREATE TROUBLE FOR HER" DESPITE KNOWING THE FACT THAT I SUFFER FROM NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASE SO I CANNOT GO TO THE STORE TO TALK TO HER (MY FRIEND USUALLY TAKES ME STUFF). I had also told her that I really need the money as I am on long-term disability and have to spend a lot money on medications for my disease. I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED ANY BUSINESS OWNER WHO INSTEAD OF ACCEPTING HER MISTAKE AND APOLOGISNG, SHE BERATED ME BY WRITING NASTY E:mails. I am still thinking of reporting her to BBB like the other customers have done!.

Wonderful lady owns the shop. I look forward to my visits there. I stop in every couple of months and peruse the inventory. I've found some absolutely fantastic deals there. Most recently, I purchased a brand new pair of 'coach' loafers for $30. She's moving the shop a couple blocks away, and down to Carnarvon. Glad she's part of the neighbourhood!

It was once a decent store, now looks like a fire hazard. I rarely "walk" by usually drive , however last night I happened to walk by just looked in the window. So over crowded, just looked junky. Im sorry you dont like my "review" , just being honest.

I have shopped here for years as well as given clothes for consignment. I've always found it one of the best stores of its kind. However, I visited it yesterday and it seems it must have have changed ownership and I will not be using it again. The racks of clothes were in disarray with clothing hung backwards and a total mishmash of types of clothing and misplaced sizes. it was hard to find any order. I used to love the perfect arrangement and easy to find sizes, all colour co-ordinated with seasonal items. You used to have the feeling that you'd discover some fabulous find. Jewelry used to be attractively displayed and shoes used to be easily looked at. Now there is just a big jumble in a pile on the floor. Scarves were the same-just heaped in a basket. There is no panache there anymore. As well, the prices are totally ridiculous and I would never pay what is being asked. There is no sense of the quality of clothing there used to be and it has just become another (bad) thrift store.

I purchased a lovely coat there a year ago and got great use out of it and then took it back to the store that I bought it from and they sold it again for me . They have wonderful service and a great selection and absolutely reasonable prices.

This used to be a lovely store with nicely curated clothes, no more than a couple of years old. Just went in today and it's totally changed. Feels like a Value Village. I saw a silk emerald green jumpsuit from the 80s. I know as I used to own one! Everything is crushed in now and the layout has changed so there's this big open space when you come in and all the racks are pushed towards the walls. Plus there is a kettle for making tea/coffee at the entrance. Who wants to walk around with hot tea or coffee while looking at clothes or why would a store owner even encourage that. I walked by what used to be dressing rooms and now bags are piled up in that area making it feel even junkier. Tons of shoes on the floor and in racks to lend to that haphazard air. What turned me off even more was the Christian rock station playing. Not the type of music that lends itself to browsing. Won't be going back. Too bad as it used to be a really nice store. I understand new owners took over in September. They need to take a course in merchandise display.

Used to be a great classy consignment store with the previous owner. New owner, very sketchy! Horrible accounting methods...computer crashed, no backup, brought my stuff in end of October for a 3 month contract - was told it was not put out til November, then was quoted being owed an amount when went into check on my sales in December ...then at end of January was told nothing else had sold...couldn't get my stuff back and my money's owed...and my stuff was still on the floor being sold. Didn't get my stuff or my money owed to me that was quoted in December until I said I was going to call Better Business Bureau and make a report. Was not able to get my stuff back until May 10th, after hearing every excuse in the book! Don't take your stuff here!
