this place sucks. these 3 people treated my mother pretty badly when she went in today by herself and followed her around everywhere looking over her shoulder into her purse, asking if it was a zip lock bag? Also calling her "Babe" or "Honey", asking her if she needed anything when she said she was just there to browse their stock. These people never acted like this when I went in with her. I suspect is has something to do with my mothers slightly darker skin color? She was upset when she came back so 1 star for u

If I could give this place more than one five-star review, I would! My ABSOLUTE favourite thrift store in Nanaimo. Unbeatable prices, great selection, and the friendliest staff. I always feel welcome here, find treasures, and then discover they're even cheaper than I thought! Couldn't recommend enough.

I absolutely Love This place!!!!! The staff are wonderful, patient, and usually very pleasant to deal with???? This is the most reasonably priced 2nd hand store in Nanaimo!!!!! They also have some boutique areas where Brand Name items can be found & at Fantastic prices!!! They are a little more than the regular items but ALWAYS inexpensive for what you are buying. I have never ever been disappointed at the till. They do have good sales and they switch up the type of items on sale each time. The assortment of items changes frequently too so its lije shopping at a new store almost every week???? Great place! I promise so go check it out????

I've never been to such a friendly and thoughtful thrift store. The prices are reasonable, the quality is marked appropriately, the staff is kind and helpful without hovering. They are on top of being safe during a pandemic. I really appreciate this store and everyone in it. Thank you.

I went here a couple of summers ago and the owner of the store was extremely creepy. He told me that I was sexy and gave me the worst no feeling I've ever experienced. He got really close to me while I was looking at records and I had to maneuver my way to the other side of the store. I still can't get rid of that awful feeling. It's too bad, because he had great selection of clothes shoes and accessories and gave me a great deal! Perhaps because I was so shocked I didn't protest the innapropriate way he acted towards me. Some other, younger girls came into the store while I was shopping and he visibly creeped them out as well which made them leave right away. I'm really only posting this as a warning to other females who might venture through the doors at Friends of Haven.

I had stopped in a different store as I was looking for canning jars and canning related items. Another customer told me about Friends of Haven and that they had lots of hings as well as not so pricey like the others. So I brought it up on my google map, set the gps to start and went to check out this store. I found almost 3 cases of pint jars! A stainless food mill, a crystal glass that is one like my set, a box of 6 crystal pinwheel glasses, books, LP albums in mint condition, and there was a lot more in the store! Very helpful staff. Even helped carry some of my purchases out. Best shop in Nanaimo so far of the three I have gone to. Highly recommend a trip to this store.

This store is great and improving. Customer service is better than it used to be and they have fixed their dressing rooms a bit so now there are actually hooks to hand things on when you are trying on clothes. Great selection, clean store and pretty good prices. Supports an important organization so that's a plus too.

Was my favourite store in town but now its terrible post covid. The man power tripping at the front door. Still asking people to mask, then when told I have a disability told to go away. The management may need to reconsider some things to make shopping enjoyable again. I am boycotting until something changes sadly.

Terrible service. Went in and wanted to buy a shelf that they were using for display which was tucked in a corner and had 3 things on it and the ladies were rude and wouldn’t sell it. I never get any friendly service at this place! Won’t be going back.
