Spectacular customer service. They really prioritized pandemic safety without compromising finding the perfect costume/accessories. The collection is lovingly curated so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for (or stumble across a gem that you didn’t know you needed to complete the look). They have an awesome selection of nerdy and cool pandemic masks for kids and adults too. Lastly, I really appreciated that they didn’t make gender assumptions and offered dress options for the male presenting person I was with who was looking for a witch costume. We got really high quality stuff at very reasonable prices. Forget the big box stores or online only retailers - this team really cares and will help make your costume dreams come true.

Had a pretty decent time until I went to checkout. Long line with 2 cashiers, 1 of which had someone already and the other guy was staring at everyone drinking a pop. When pop guy finally called me over I was met with attitude the whole time. After paying, I asked for a bag and was met with “but it has a handle” ok so? I waked here from the train, I have to walk back to the train to get home and then walk home from the train. I’m sorry that the small plastic handle is not enough for me to hold the 40 minutes away. I appreciate the guy at the door telling you how things worked and where to go, the guy chit chatting about jackets as we waited for the costumes from downstairs, even the overly stressed changing room lady was nice enough and friendly. But bald guy at the cash has soured my experience here.

You can find pretty much any costume here. They have a good website that you can search for what you're looking for and you can just stop in and grab it. I've bought many costumes here and it seems reasonably priced. Very good selection, I'd say likely largest in the city.

The lady working there didn't seem too pleased to see us there, we were looking at the catalogues for a while, but as a customer we should be able to take as much time as needed. She didn't seem to please either to show us a couple of options to see if they fit. I guess is the same lady other reviews complain about...I certainly didnt get the nice one with pink hair. They have a big variety of stuff which is nice and the custome I got is great, but the customer service prevents me from going back. It is expensive too.

Arrived here after 6pm on Oct 30 and they were still open! They had the exact costume we were looking for in the correct size with no combing of racks and racks of costumes. Tables with catalogs displaying their costumes made it easy to browse and select exactly what we wanted. Prices were better or competitive with the ‘pop-up-store’ and staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful - even on Oct 30! We will definitely be back!

Family Values I was looking for a Harley Quinn costume for my 8 year old daughter and the owner was helping me. He said that he does not carry the costumes for kids that are too suggestive. We found a beautiful Harley Quinn costume that is appropriate for an 8 year old. I find that in itself admirable, but what really makes me happy is that he has a son. If only every parent with sons would be so protective of little girls! I know that his son is one boy who will be a man that would never hurt my daughters. This is by far the best costume shop in all of Calgary. No matter how busy they are during the Halloween season--they're still incredibly helpful. But the best part about this costume shop? They treat you like a human being--not just a dollar sign like many of the pop up halloween stores do.

This place looks like it has a ton of stock upon entrance but their costume selection is lacking. Went in looking for an 80’s costume. Everything remotely close was out of stock and they didn’t know when it would be back in stock. Maybe I just had bad luck. I’ll go back and update if I find what I’m looking for next time.

I've been to many many costume stores as of late, but at this one, service was sub par... no refund policy even on unopened items before halloween? There are tons of other options out there, unless you live super close, these guys should be a last resort

Easy to find & get to (located just off Blackfoot Trail in the South), this place has quickly become my go-to for all things costume related. The last time I was there, I needed something in a pinch and was amazed that not did I find something right up my alley, I didn't pay an arm & a leg either. I love this store and the staff. I've been coming to the store for a number of years now and this pandemic would be no different. I know the importance of supporting our hard working local businesses and making sure the majority of my spending stays local. I buy my makeup and costume supplies here as they have a great partner program. I often rent as well as their rental department has some beautiful and original options and Pink, who runs the rentals is a consummate professional. Last but not least the store owner Ryan is so personable, he's happy to pop out and help answer my questions and you can tell he truely cares for his staff. I was so impressed by the store and staff. So helpful and the amount of merchandise was incredible. The problem happened when I went to pay for the items that I picked out. I have never been to the store before and I do remember the hostess explaining that there are no returns but I was concerned about the lights that I wanted to buy. The guy at the till had a snotty tone and I felt small. I tried to defend myself and asked if he could not talk to me like that. His mocking got worse, I was so upset I left the wrong way. He pointed me toward the exit and as I was leaving down the stairs I could hear him mocking me to the other customers. I tried to tell the people at the curbside assistance, they didn’t seem that interested in helping. I feel horrible. I never want to go back again. I think I deserve to be treated better than that. What a shame cause all those other employees did such a great job!

The Costume Shoppe sells high quality costumes and other Halloween items! And wow the employees really know their stuff! They've got a huge variety of costume options, which you can buy in a set or in seperate parts if that is what your looking for. For example, I dressed my dog up as Yoshi for Halloween last year and just wanted to wear my own cheap costume that had a simple nod to Mario. (A matching costume if you will.) At the costume Shoppe I found a Mario hat which was the perfect touch. I didn't want to buy a full Mario costume, just the hat, which they had ready for me! The only problem shopping here is the price. For a full set costume you will be looking at a price anywhere between 50 and 500 dollars depending on the costume! However, the price is worth it for the quality of the items. I've never been to a costume Shoppe with better products.

Spent over $250 at the store and almost $70 on official licenced Princess Peach costume which ripped on multiple places within an hour of my daughter wearing it around costume party. Manager would not do anything to help because it was past 5 day exchange policy so we are being punished for their shoddy product and for the fact we bought our daughters costumes early. Will not be returning and very dispponted in the quality of their costumes.
