Lovely consignment store! I always always get good deals from here. It’s the sister store of Plato’s closet. Hard to believe there’s only one of this store in our lovely city-Winnipeg. But this is a store worth commuting or making the drive around town for. You will get value for your money! A good thing is, you can sell your own brand name gently used items too!! Works out great.

A good place to pass on your clothes, jewellery, shoes, and handbags. Make sure they are still in good shape as they resell your items. Plus they pay you right away . Great concept.

Honestly, staff is rude. When denying something they made really personal comments such as “your clothes are outdated & worn out. We also have too many items on hold.” Okay?! The clothes I brought were brand new brand names clothes. A simple, “this does not match our style of clothes”, would have been a plenty enough explanation. While waiting for them to review items, I browsed their store. They sell brand name items that were in pretty bad condition. To each their own, but that was my first impression there.

I get 90% of my clothes from here. Most things are in mint condition and in current fashion. Sometimes you come across items that are outdated or have rips or stains but not very often. I would say the staff are mostly very friendly.... I visit a few times a month and I’ve come across some not so friendly staff... but not often. I didn’t have a good experience selling my items at this location... I understand that my sense of fashion isn’t to everyone’s taste.. but I keep my clothes in top notch condition. I was told that my items were too damaged and in poor condition to purchase. I felt really insulted and I think that it might be a good idea to change the script to something less offensive. I would have been good with “nothing caught our eye today, we aren’t interested in any items”. But I do wonder if it makes a difference which staff is sorting that day as to whether or not it’s the staffs personal fashion taste that matters if they buy from you or not.

I read some of the reviews and I disagree to all bad reviews about this shop. I brought a few items, two days in a row and made some $$$. The 2 employees on Jan 24 evening treated me with respect when they declined some items that I shortly sold over to Plato's next door. They have great brand items for such a great price point. They sell some high end items and in great condition so don't be surprised at the prices. They will definitely be my go to next time I need something right away. I came back in the morning the next day and these 2 lovely ladies helped me with my items and bought most of what I've brought in store. I brought in brand new designer sunglasses but they declined to take them due to the lower price that they're offering me, advised me to sell them privately. Thank you for the honesty. My advice when selling tho, make sure you bring stuff that are in style but you don't wear but will potentially buy again. Think of what you would want to find in store when you're shopping. ALSO WASH YOUR ITEMS OR MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN. Who wants to buy dirty clothes? Respect is a two way street. Love this store and I highly recommend selling and shopping.

Staff are not great. They claim to give you 30-40% in buy back value but they really give you less than 15%. If you’re desperate for cash, then by all means go but if you actually have valuable items that are in great shape, I recommend taking them to a consignment shop or selling them over Facebook market place to get a better value.

Store itself is very nice. Good merchandise & atmosphere. Some of the staff is friendly - although my last experience there turned me off by what seemed the manager had a un-satisfied-with-me attitude. Either than that; it's a great store & once they are open to sell I might go back!

I LOVE this consignment shop and already can't wait to go again. Everything is in very good condition, yet prices are affordable. Items are organized by size and then also by color, and the items themselves are beautiful. Lots of nice things I could wear to work, a wedding, or just a regular day. It's everything you could want in a thrifting experience, minus the major sifting that is required at most thrift shops. Feels great to find a mainstay local clothes shop that also supports the environment through recycling.

I heard about this place from a co-worker and decided to check it out. Was my first time at the a store and I immediately was greeted by friendly staff. Another stuff was extremely helpful and found exactly what I was looking for. Some items were a little pricey however they had a similar item that was only $10. Another great thing about this store is that they carry women's clothing and not Junior women's clothing. I found a beautiful Calvin Klein long Blazer vest that was pretty much brand new. Look like it just came out of a new box and even the pockets were sewn shut. Would definitely go back.

I didn’t find the clothing that great, some nice pieces, but also a lot of George brand and Joe Fresh. They did have a lot of nice shoes and I would go back for that reason only.

Super friendly staff, great little shop for women who enjoy mid level clothing from places like zara, aritzia, with a few higher end gems and a few lower end pieces in good condition. Pricing seemed to be fair from what I picked through. I did bring in some items for resale which was a great experience; Payout per item was (by my estimate) about 20% of what the resale prices are, which for me is very fair based on the convenience of the service, especially considering the aforementioned great staff. Will definitely be back!

Very helpful to transgendering mtf's. Are very polite and willing to make change areas available. All staff have been very friendly each and every time I've been to the store. They are very good at following up as to how you made out with your clothing choices. It has been a pleasant shopping experience each and every time I've been there. I hope it continues.

Organized well, staff very polite. Great customer service. My mother brought many blazers, and tops, blouses in mint condition. They were purchased at 2 dollars a piece. Quite low. Those items are worth much more than that. Pricing system could be improved, felt it was ridiculous.

I only visit this store if they have clearance sale, most of the clothes & shoes are in very good condition, prices ranges to $5 to $20 depends on the brand name. I sold my 3 pairs of shoes here they are barely worn and i only got $10.96, my mistake i should just donate to community thrift stores to help them to make more money since they are helping some organizations

Well organized, just like Plato's closet they're really selective on what they buy so usually if you bring a big bag of stuff they'll purchase two or three things and you may walk out with $20-30. Definitely worth going if you have stuff you want to get rid of anyway as long as it's in really good condition.

3 separate times... Not what they're looking for. Mostly brand names in great condition. Offered $7 for a brand new pair of dress pants, tags still on at $56 and a costume jewelry necklace. No use for the rest. Took it all back. Would rather give it away then be insulted by teenagers who think they know fashion and style. Waste of time energy and gas. Never again!!!

Staff has always been extremely lovely, the managers however are not. Staff has been polite with me, while managers have been pushy, condescending, and sometimes just flat out rude. Sometimes I'll be in the store and overhear managers treating their employees poorly. Sounds like a hostile work environment. If i were working here I would have quit immediately. I like to support local businesses, but not local businesses that treat their customers and employees like children.

I really liked shopping here considering I've only been twice. Never left empty handed. However as for selling things. I brought in a handful of brand new items and a wallet. They only took the wallet. Which was disappointing considering on there Facebook page they said they needed more shirts and and jeans, which I brought it. On the ticket it said wear and tear which is hilarious since I never wore any of the clothing I brought in. Obviously clothes there's gonna be at least alittle bit of wear on the clothing it's used for Christ sake. Also the staff that took my items was very monotone and wasn't that very friendly either. I'll keep shopping here but I don't think I'll ever bring anything to sell every again. Picky place.

Hands down the best consignment store in Winnipeg. I use to go to Plato’s but Encore has better brands and they really take the time to select excellent second-hand items. The staff are so friendly and not pushy. The clothes are much nicer than Plato’s. Highly recommend!

As an ex employee I would highly suggested not working here. The management is terrible, I worked for them 8 months then quit got a new job and came back to work for them again within a week I was fired due to not coming in because I had an oil leak and didn’t have a way into work. If you want to be mistreated then I would definitely apply but if you have self worth and value I would look else where. The employees themselves are amazing though. Will not be supporting this local business due to wrongful termination.

Normally when I come into this store, the girls are pleasant and friendly. Today was another story with a person named Kim who is a store employee and was working the change rooms. I was the only person in line for a change room and she acted like i was invisible, when another individual came up with clothes she immediately helped them and told me i could wait. When a change room opened she immediately closed the door and told me she needed to count exactly what i was bringing in, i told her 9 and she said i will count it myself. She let the previous girl go in without counting her items or going through what was in her hands. Not paying it any mind, I overhear her doing the same thing to another lady outside of the change rooms, she refused to let her in the change rooms. I am aboriginal and the other lady was black. This kim should be ashamed of herself, if you work in customer service you need to get used to working with people of color. We are living in the year 2018, its time to grow up! Mentioning this to the cashier, i got the usual response, "oh no, she's nice, i don't think she would do something like that", good thing there were other people around to witness this in the back!
