I am posting this review in behalf of my 16 year old daughter. She was just there 2 hours ago, with 3 of her friends. They thrifted, proceeded to the cashier to pay for the items. My daughter was treated very rudely because she did not speak French. She is Canadian, born outside of Canada and just moved to Quebec last November. This short white haired lady, fairly advanced in age, only cashier working at the counter abruptly grabs my daughter’s school bag and drops it on the counter. I understand it’s to check for pickpocketing, which this province seems to have a lot of. Proceeds to rip the zipper open, which momentarily got caught, grabs the binder and notebooks, dropping them aggressively, breaks open her make-up kit, rudely drops all of it on the table, all the while, my daughter is objecting, pointing out that she’s crumpling her stuff and destroying her bag. My daughter tries to hasten the process by helping, and this lady keeps grabbing her bag from her, three times to be exact. This is not how one’s personal effects should be handled by a stranger. Not decent nor is it acceptable. And the reason why I’m pointing out that it’s because of the language, because her 3 other friends who came after, who spoke French, well, guess what, their bags were left UNTOUCHED, not checked. My daughter and her friends are willing to go back to the store, together with me and my husband, to testify as witness to this extremely offensive behavior. So many reasons to not approve. #1 this is NOT a non profit. That means that the owner( proud owner of multiple personal jets) gets the profits. When you donate to them, or there partners, 80% of the clothing is put in to bails and shipped to 3rd world countries, where many times it is misappropriated in, suffice it to say,for bad proposes. #2 the clothing is not washed or treated. Before, I used to go because when dug deep enough, SOMETIMES you would find a record that was worth $5 and pay $1. SOMETIMES! Even at $1 , many times you would leave empti-handed , because it was all the most common stuff possible. Its not for profit, because nobody will go somewhere and spend gas to do $3.85 profit. Its because it was fun! But now with the new prices.. why bother? Just go to record stores, or video game stores and you will find better stuff for lower prices. Its a pity to see a store lose grip with reality like that! Inconvénient, les rangées sont petites lorsqu'on se promène avec des paniers, il faut se coller dans les vêtements. Il y a quelques cabines d'essayage et une toilette disponible pour les clients. Bien que le magasin est extraordinaire pour son offre de vêtement, les prix peuvent être exagéré. Les vêtements sont vendus en bonne condition et selon les marques. Les manteaux et les souliers peuvent coûter cher à ce magasin considérant que cela provient de dons et que ce n'est pas un magasin de liquidation. Conseil lors d'achat pour les tous petits, je magasine des jouets là-bas et je vérifie toujours qu'il y aie toutes les pièces avant de payer. Je n'ai pas envie de payer quelque chose d'incomplet pour de jeunes enfants. Vérifer aussi les pochettes de cd ou de dvd si bon cd s'y retrouve, car il arrive que ce ne soit pas le cas. ;) Cela dit, la majorité de mon linge favoris provient de ce magasin. Je peux aisément passé 2 heures là-bas.
