Being on a business trip and having to eat pizza for two days, we needed something different, so I googled best place to eat in Kirkland Lake and found the Dish, to say in the least we were not disappointed, great little restaurant, meals were hot, food was fresh, this restaurant would rival some of the better ones found in larger cities. Simple menu presented with great skill and food cooked and seared to perfection. I know, because I cook and appreciate the quality of ingredients, seasoning and presentation. Keep up the great work, you need to have passion for cooking and the chef owner and his wife have this passion.

Couldn’t, get a very good photo due to the ambient lighting but that’s not what going to dinner is about, it’s about the food and this place nails it. The staff is awesome very friendly and on the ball, ( I accidentally knocked my fork on the floor and the host was across the room, she came over as soon as she had a minute and replaced it without me saying anything) nice wine selection and comfortable atmosphere aswell. Prices are awesome for 40$ you get a three course meal the app main and dessert. I had the garlic poached shrimp and it was fresh and full of flavour, then I had the steak with the blue cheese mashed potatoes. I asked for it cooked rare and it was perfectly done, tender and delicious. Then for dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was a great play on a traditional sticky toffee pudding, it was served with a cherry sauce and Chunks of sponge toffee instead of butterscotch and the change totally worked the sponge toffee added a nice texture and the cherries where a great addition to the dish.

I wish there was more stars! AMAZING experience, loved the food. The couple that own it are so friendly and welcoming. The service was great and the husband who is the chef is absolutely incredible!!! Top 5 best meals of my entire life hands down. I took a customer there and we both agreed we would get back there again next time! YOU MUST EAT HERE!

Without a doubt the best food in town. The passion the chef has for his cooking translates beautifully through his dishes and the service is super friendly and personal. When you go to The Dish Cafe you aren't going for a meal...you're going for a dining experience as each course is carefully selected and hand crafted to complement the next. The atmosphere is lavish and relaxed and you never feel rushed to finish up and leave.

Food was incredible! Not an overwhelming selection, which I appreciated, but still a good amount of options. Fixed price for entire dinner made it easier to decide what to get! Portions were bigger than I needed (wish I'd asked for/brought a container). The service was outstanding. My server even brought a light to clip on my table when she saw me trying to write in the dim lighting. Will definitely plan any future trips through the area to include a stop there!

The best food in the North! We've been several times and have no problem driving 2 1/2 hours to eat here. Every time has exceeded our expectations. Matt is an amazing chef and Katie does an incredible job taking care of her guests. Always very friendly, great advice if you're not sure what to try - everything's amazing though! Worth exactly what you pay or more. Thank you for the yummy food Matt and Katie!!!

I was afraid this was another restaurant with mediocre food with fancy plating. Wow- I was wrong. The food was GREAT! And for just $40 getting a quality 3 course meal is a great deal. I will absolutely come back the next time I’m in Kirkland Lake. Also the pork belly slaps!

We are in Provo Turks and Caicos. We just had the most amazing dinner at a place called Cocoa Bistro! Check out their ratings! Their menu was similar to what we have enjoyed at the dish however I will say our experience (other than the palm trees and warm Caribbean breeze) was on par with the service that you both gift to us! The fact that tonight we paid $220 American for a dinner we can enjoy just a five minute walk from our home at a fraction of that cost astonishes me! Katie and Matt thank you for continuing to bring only the best to us in the North!

Got tied up at work, was going to be late picking up our meal. Called 5 times and even showed up. Wife messaged on Facebook saying we were still willing to pay and they came back insulting her saying it takes a special kind of person to not show up and that she wasted their time and money and to never order again. Needless to say we won’t be. Slight unprofessional.
