I moved to Sault in April where I come the Pennington's do not sell over 3x I was desperate to replace my broken winter coat and went in to the store after my husband suggest I just try to see if they have my size. They had my size I was so shocked. Very happy that I can now shop for clothes in person instead of online

Normally I have liked this location but recently found the staff more disconnected. Wasn't overly busy, was not greeted until I came out of the changing room and then was left standing there with the clothes that didn't fit as there was no where to put them and she didn't seem to want to take them from me. 2 women at the counter and like i said not busy. Seems one of them could have come helped to clean up the changing room area. No one mentioned the sale or promo. No one asked if there was anything I was looking for or needed help with. As mentioned experience has usually been better but this time I received a better welcome at the thrift store!

I really shouldn't be surprised. They just don't have clothes that appeal to me. Every shirt seemed shapeless or balloony. All the pants were tapered. I'm not shaped like an apple, I'm a cello and I need clothes that remind me that I do have a waist. Please, for the love of Pete, get some shirts in with princess seams, and get some great fabrics that aren't red and white stripes.

The lady working was very nice and helpful. I tried on some shoes. They didnt have my size in the colors I wanted so she told me she could order them for me at no extra charge and have them delivered wherever I needed. Down fall is she told me 2 days for delivery and I was so excited as I needed a pair of the shoes for an event I had 5 days later. I get an email 2 days after my order was placed saying they weren't going to arrive till 3 days after my event. I am now having to drive to the next town away (30min drive) to buy a 3rd pair of shoes that they have in stock so I have something to put on my feet for my event. This was my first time buying stuff from Penningtons and I'm not gonna lie this has put a bad taste in my mouth. So now Im 200$ for all the shoes plus my time and gas.

The sales clerks were intrusive, pushy and extremely annoying - even hovering around in my personal space while I was looking at lingerie. I told them repeatedly I was fine and I'd let them know if I needed anything. One of them commented on how "independent" I was being able to shop by myself. I bought one bra in the colour and needed and left just to get away from them. Most of the clothing was either frumpy, or trying way too hard to be edgy. There was some basic business casual clothing which was reasonably priced but plain. Would not go back to this location.

I was always a loyal shopper of Pennington's for many many years. However, over the last few years, I have found shopping at Pennington's in Moncton a very unpleasant experience. Seven years ago I moved from Moncton to Miramichi, New Brunswick and was a loyal customer at the Penningtons in Miramichi for those 7 years. The staff were so friendly and got to know me well. The sale racks in the Miramichi store were easy to browse through. I often went in for the sale items but would frequently end up purchasing new arrivals as well. Two years ago I moved back to Moncton, NB and started shopping in the Moncton store again. I have to complain because the sale items are typically what bring me into a store to shop for clothing. However the Moncton Penningtons have made it very difficult and stressful to shop the sale racks. All of the sale items are stuffed (totally stuffed) into the corner. They are so tight on the racks that it is almost impossible to browse the sale items. The top rack is too high with no way of moving through the clothing due to the way they have them packed in. The bottom rack is very low and in no way at eye level. The bottom rack also has it's items jam packed in there, but on top of that most of the clothing is covered buy the clothes on the top sale rack. This makes it impossible to shop the sale rack comfortably. Every single sale item is jammed into the corner with no way to move around when other shoppers are in the same area. Like I mentioned earlier, it is typically a sale that brings me into the store in the first place. But after giving this store several tries, I don't ever want to go back. Penningtons clothing is not as fashionable as it once was either, and the staff are not overly helpful. Please move the sale rack at Penningtons in Moncton so I can consider shopping there again.

I had to go in the first day everything opened after lock down, since weightloss I need new work pants and was unsure of sizing. The fitting room lady was great helped me find the size I needed and even went in the back to find me a second pair. For having to go out on a crazy day the staff was awesome. Yes there was a bit of a line outside because it just opened and the rules but eveyone was great and I have pants!!!

I asked if the changing rooms were open (due to social distancing and covid they're closed in some stores) she said rudely I have to wait at some line then someone will help me. Convinced my mom to go in for a bra fitting, since the staff there are trained on this. They did a fitting and the bra was super tight and the lady said, that's normal, it'll stretch and convinced her it was correct. She tried to wear one and could barely breathe in it, had deep red marks digging around her, so we tried to go exchange them 2 days later, and they wouldn't. For the price of their bras, that's pretty brutal. Feel bad I recommended her there.

I gave this location a three stars because I found the service not as helpful as the McPhillips store. At McPhillips they take the clothes you are picking out and start a room for you. This store didn't do this. I carried them around and then asked if I could take room. They also didn't offer to help with sizes. The selection and the sales was good though!

Over all I was highly unimpressed. The one sales lady couldn't open her mouth without spitting out some passive aggressive cutting comment. Because larger ladies don't have enough problems with their self esteem? I found the styles very 'older lady' like for the most part and what did seem to suit younger people came in mostly pinks and purples, colours I do not wear at all. Most of the jeans are straight or skinny leg and of the few boot cut I found to try on, none were available in petite length. Of the plain style bras none were available in my size, and the underwear only had exactly two selections in my size of the style I like. I did end up buying two shirts, actually the same shirt in two colours. I'm not sure I'll ever go back. That this is the one and only place for larger ladies to shop saddens me greatly. Thank god I know how to sew!

I was here today and the woman who was working was really rude. She didn't ask me if I needed any help with anything, and when I asked her a question she seemed really bothered by it. I overheard her talking to another customer and she was also really rude to them, and talked down to her with a super "high and mighty" attitude. It made my experience really uncomfortable.

Absolutely horrible experience. I spent almost 2 hours and $350 in this store and not once did I even get acknowledged by the staff. No greeting when I came in, no assistance finding anything, and no offer to get a fitting room started for me even though I was carrying around an armload of clothing. I ended up walking into a random open change room with probably about 15 items and still wasn't acknowledged or asked if I needed any help or if I was finding things okay (which I wasn't and could of really used a hand). Eventually I gave up, grabbed the items I had and headed to the counter where one of the staff members was standing around talking. I then proceeded to stand there waiting for several more minutes without any kind of acknowledgement, not even a "one moment" or anything while this staff member finished her conversation. I originally decided to visit this store because I was looking to buy a whole new wardrobe for back to school this year (something I haven't done in probably almost 10 years) and my mom told me how great this store was. However, after my experience today I will not be returning to this store nor will I ever recommend it to anyone I know. Rather, I will continue to order my clothing online from Torrid and Cleo (stores in Orchard Park Mall in Kelowna).

Very helpful staff but I don't like them following me around. It makes me feel like they think I am going to steal something. If I hadn't been looking for something specific that I wouldn't find at a low cost store, I would have walked out. I mentioned my concern to the staff lady and she kindly let me search on my own then. When I did need her for advice, she was right there. I ended up buying a live lying suede skirt & jacket that were on sale. Still love the outfit and it has held its shape and color quite well. Very happy with my find.

I had such an amazing shopping experience at the Pennington’s in Orillia. I walked in right at opening time, and Carmen greeted me with a friendly hello. She kindly asked if there was anything specific that I was looking for. I usually have a lot of shopping and body anxiety after yo-yo-ing with my weight.. I mentioned I had an event this weekend. I kid you not, Carmen made me feel like I was her best friend that I’ve known forever with helping me find the perfect outfit. What I bought wasn’t anything I’d have picked off the rack for myself.. but the outfit made me look good, and feel so good. I instantly knew it was it after trying a handful of other options. Cindy and Melissa gave their sincere opinions as well. It was like a shopping trip out with the girls- even though I entered the store alone. I drove from Barrie, and I’m moving to the Orillia area in a couple weeks. I’ll definitely be returning to update my wardrobe in my new life chapter. If you’re reading this- you ladies are incredible humans. Thank you so much for the experience that meant more than you would have known.

My fiance went in here to buy me some me some Christmas gift's while I was shopping in walmart. With 4 employees in the store and 2 other guests (mother and daughter) she had 0 help , surpise surpise, she got the wrong size. I feel awful, i know she could have understood the sizes (xl ,xxl, xxxl) if she had some help. She spent a couple hundred dollars with no attention from any employee. I feel terrible because I know the feeling of alienation she is going through being a (beautiful) plus sized women my whole life. It's not fun having a designated store that caters to plus size ladies that i HAVE to shop at , let alone being alienated because....why ? I can't imagine.

She’s very petite and slim, and was approached by a staff member who claimed they had nothing to sell to her and that this store wasn’t for her and that she should leave. Went in this location for a certain item and had a wonderful shopping experience. Lovely, helpful staff, both ladies were very helpful. One item was not in stock, they ordered it and it will be shipped right to my home. They made my shopping comfortable and enjoyable. I was able to try the items on in store. Was in the store for over an hour and no one help myself or my friend. Disappointing, usually the girls can help me find the right fit for me, as I am so short. There were no signs to explain differences in curvy fit, savy or universal etc...so how are you to know which body type I am. Service is never good when manager is working. She ordered her staff around and not one of those orders was to assist customers. I know addition Elle and Pennington are related...but why stock the same clothing at each store? I seem to be disappoint more often shopping there.

I really miss Misty. She was so kind, helpful, funny, and always had a smile. She was honest and went the extra mile to help. I don't think the staff today were up to par and seemed to dread being there. I was looking for help and I mistakenly asked another customer for help. When I found someone to answer my question, she huffed and puffed out her answer and barely looked at me. Be prepared for grumpy staff. My rating is 3/5 only because the clothes this season are very nice.

My mother and I went Friday March 6th 2020 to this location for our birthday. I normally don't shop here but the sales associate that assisted us was absolutely wonderful! She spent time with us finding clothes that fit our curves and bodies and made really helpful suggestions as we purchased multiples outfits. I do find the pricing at the store a little high, but I appreciate how things fit! Overall it was a good experience and I really do want to thank the woman giving us a hand and laughing at my bad jokes ????

As i waited in line to cash out, another lady who wasnt in line yet was taken ahead of me by the worker that was helping her. I had already been waiting in line for 5 minutes and should have been helped first. I almost put my clothes back but seeing as it is the only plus size store in my town I needed to make this purchase as it was a Christmas gift. I will not ne going back to this store. No one greeted me, my arm hurt from carrying about 10 items - I had to seek out an associate to provide me with a room so I could keep shopping.
